Leading Early Stage SaaS Founders though GTM Growth – What do you do, when do you do it, when do you hire? This week on The GTM Kickback, we're back with an incredible sit down with the fantastic TK Kader of Unstoppable Strategies, to discuss his key area of expertise - scaling GTM functions in early stage SaaS businesses, the right way. TK was CEO & Founder at ToutApp (backed by a16z, Jackson Square Ventures and prominent angel investors in Silicon Valley). After scaling ToutApp, it was acquired by Marketo where TK went on to join Marketo's executive team and serve as their Senior Vice President of Strategy. After running a 2-year transformation as part of the executive team, Marketo was acquired by Adobe for $4.75bn. TK now spends his time as a Strategic Advisor to 250+ B2B SaaS Founders globally. As Founder of Unstoppable Strategies, he helps Founders grow their startups faster through his weekly Youtube videos (tkkader.com/youtube) and his application-only SaaS Go-To-Market Program (tkkader.com/gtm). We talked about real strategies TK has implemented to help founders build, and win, with their GTM growth.

A lot of people think that if you have a cool product, you're destined to succeed. But are you, though? Today's guest for Coffee with Closers believes that it's not quite true. Despite everything else, the only thing that predicts how successful your company will be is the market. If you're in a really great market where you are solving an urgent and important problem, you can have a pretty mediocre product and a team of average people, but still, win. And vice versa, you can have the best team in the world and a truly outstanding product, but if the market is not there, it won't matter. Meet TK Kader, the founder of ToutApp, which made him the pioneer in the sales engagement space. He took the company from zero to $7 million of recurring revenue and sold it to Marketo, where he subsequently served as a senior VP of Strategy and helped drive it to the transformation that led to the $4.7 billion on exit. Now, TK successfully coaches early-stage SaaS founders, and he's not planning to stop growing. What you'll learn in this episode: • Is the death of enterprise rep real now that we have inside sales? • What's the difference between execution and strategy? • Why mindset matters if you want to achieve success in entrepreneurship? • What makes someone a visionary? • Why you may want to go for education marketing rather than traditional content marketing? • How to build your personal brand and why you need it? In this episode I caught up with TK Kader, serial entrepreneur, founder of Toutapp (acquired by Marketo, later Marketo gets acquired by Adobe). TK takes us on his personal path of self growth and contribution, and how we can use self growth to fuel career navigation. Excited to hear your feedback on this FIRE episode.
If you look up the word hustle in wikipedia, You might find a section on today's founder, Tawheed Kader (TK). TK shares his honest thoughts on how he successfully sold his company ToutApp to Marketo in 2017. This did not come without challenges. Even while he was growing fast and at $5m in recurring revenue difficulties came from stock market crash in early 2016. Emergence of highly funded competitors in the category made it tough to fundraise and TK had to layoff a large portion of his company. This is a perfect example of making lemonade out of lemons. TK takes us through how he came out on the other side despite opposing external forces.TK's twitter: https://twitter.com/tawheedShruti's twitter: https://twitter.com/atshruti
This week, the Bowery Capital team hosted Daniel Barber, SVP of Sales & Customer Success at Datanyze, to discuss “the Software Pricing Quadrant.” Datanyze is a sales intelligence platform that arms customers with deep "technographic" data: information regarding companies' technology stacks and changes in its composition over time. Datanyze's insights are leveraged by any type of role in a variety of ways, but they are valued particularly highly by B2B marketers & salespeople seeking the right timing to approach new leads or an edge to help close their best accounts. In this podcast episode, Daniel joins us to discuss the Software Pricing Quadrant, a logical framework he has developed that one can use to weigh various pricing models, and the key factors at play when considering each. Having held a variety of sales leadership roles, he has dedicated an impressive amount of time thinking about the costs and benefits of different software pricing methodologies, and shares with us today his thoughts on how best to understand and apply the Quadrant in the real world. Daniel Barber is the SVP of Sales & Customer Success at Datanyze, a role he took on after serving as VP of Sales at the company for 7 months. Prior to Datanyze, he was VP of Revenue at Node.io (an account-based sales intelligence platform) and served in various sales leadership roles at ToutApp, including Senior Director of Pipeline Development. Daniel began his career in software customer acquisition at Responsys, which was acquired by Oracle in 2013, about a year into his joining the company. He has also served as an advisor to many startups, including Chorus.ai, a sales call analytics & intelligence tool that has raised over $20MM to "open up the black box of sales calls" using AI and NLP. Daniel's deep experience across a range of SaaS companies and his particular specialization in sales data & intelligence, make him a perfect guide to software pricing considerations, the topic of today's podcast.
