Vi närmar oss första advent och idag berättar Gustav Ahlman, präst i katolska kyrkan i Göteborg, om en adventstid han minns Lyssna på alla avsnitt i Sveriges Radios app. Ur andakten:Adventstiden är en tid av väntan och förhoppning på någonting stort som ska komma. Inte minst är det en förväntansfull tid för alla barn som ser fram emot julen. Mitt eget första minne av att ha sett fram emot julen på detta sätt är adventstiden 1991, då jag var sex år gammal. Jag hade önskat mig en polisstation i Lego i julklapp. Eftersom jag var så otålig och tjatade så mycket så stod min kära mamma till slut inte ut mer, och letade i början av adventstiden fram polismotorcyklarna ur kartongen så att jag kunde leka med dem så länge. Mitt habegär och bristande tålamod som sexåring utgör givetvis inget bra exempel på hur man borde fira advent. Men kanske finns det ändå någonting positivt som vi kan lära oss av den här anekdoten. Anledningen till att vi firar advent under nästan fyra veckor innan jul är att vi ska få tid att riktigt längta efter Jesus innan han kommer. De kristna har traditionellt uttryckt denna längtan efter Kristi ankomst med böneropet Marana tha, som betyder ”Vår Herre, kom” på Jesu modersmål arameiska. Det är som bekant tradition att besöka kyrkogården under Allhelgonahelgen och tända ljus vid gravarna. Det här är ursprungligen en katolsk tradition, som började spridas till Sverige mot slutet av 1800-talet och slog igenom i hela landet efter andra världskriget. En kväll under den första veckan i november brukar jag besöka Stampens kyrkogård strax norr om Ullevi tillsammans med församlingens ungdomar. Efter att jag har välsignat gravarna och vi har bett en bön för alla de avlidna får ungdomarna två gravljus var som de får tända framför några till synes bortglömda gravar som inga anhöriga har besökt. På så vis försöker vi bidra till att ingen avliden ska bli helt bortglömd under allhelgonahelgen. Detta ljuständande är inte bara till hjälp för att minnas de avlidna och lysa upp deras gravar i novembermörkret. Ljuset symboliserar framförallt de böner som vi bär fram för de avlidna, för att de ska renas från de onda konsekvenserna av sina synder, och på så vis kunna träda fram helt och fullt inför Guds ansiktes ljus i himmelriket. Den traditionella bönen för de avlidna lyder: ”Herre, giv dem den eviga vilan, och låt det eviga ljuset lysa för dem. Må de vila i frid. Alla helgons dag är en av de viktigaste högtiderna under det katolska kyrkoåret, då vi kommer ihåg alla helgon, kända som okända, som levde ut sin tro på Jesus Kristus på ett exemplariskt sätt. De senaste åren har jag fått fira allhelgonaafton tillsammans med församlingens mammagrupp och deras barn. Då får barnen fira en riktig All Hallow's Eve genom att klä ut sig till sina favorithelgon. Några brukar klä ut sig till sina skyddshelgon som de är uppkallade efter, någon av flickorna brukar alltid vara utklädd till den saliga jungfrun Maria, och några av pojkarna brukar ta vara på möjligheten att klä ut sig till en modig soldat som den helige Göran. In dieser Episode entführe ich euch in die faszinierende Welt von Greg Walters' Roman „Der Lehrling des Feldschers“. Im Mittelpunkt der Geschichte steht Gustav, ein junger Mann im Jahr 1642, dessen Leben durch den verheerenden Dreißigjährigen Krieg aus den Fugen gerät. Nachdem blühende Soldaten sein Zuhause angreifen und seine Familie auseinanderreißen, wird Gustav in die Fänge einer Realität gezwungen, die er sich nie hätte vorstellen können. Der Wundarzt Martin, der ihn aufnimmt, enthüllt eine düstere Wahrheit: Dämonen, die Menschenfleisch fressen, durchstreifen das Schlachtfeld. Diese erschreckende Offenbarung setzt eine Reihe von Ereignissen in Gang, die Gustav und die Leser tief in die dunklen Geheimnisse der Kriegsgeschichte und der menschlichen Natur eintauchen lassen. Ich teile meine persönlichen Eindrücke von diesem spannenden Fantasy-Roman und könnt eure Vorurteile über den Self-Publishing-Bereich hinter euch lassen. „Der Lehrling des Feldschers“ hat den Kindle Storyteller Award gewonnen und zeigt, dass großartige Geschichten auch abseits traditioneller Verlage entstehen können. Die einzigartige Verwebung von Geschichte und Fantasy hat sofort mein Interesse geweckt, besonders da der Dreißigjährige Krieg mein Heimatdorf stark betroffen hat. Der Roman beginnt mit einem eindrucksvollen Bild: ein Komet schlägt in der Nähe von Lübeck ein, und schon kurz darauf wird ein Dämon vorgestellt, der Wanderer brutal niedermetzelt. Der Leser wird dann in die Welt von Gustav eingeführt, einem Sohn eines Köhlers, der mit seinen Lebensumständen unzufrieden ist. Doch nach der Zerstörung seines Elternhauses und der Entführung seiner Familie verändert sich alles für ihn. Bei der Rettung seines schwer verletzten Vaters entdeckt er einen geheimnisvollen Silber-Säbel und einen Brief, der ihn zu den Soldaten führt, die seine Familie gefangen halten. Dort wird Gustav vom Feldscher Martin gerettet und wird bald darauf zu seinem Lehrling. Die Geschichte hält den Leser in Atem, und ich könnte noch Stunden lang über die faszinierenden Elemente des Buches sprechen: über Dämonen, Intrigen, Heilmethoden und die lateinische Sprache, die allen Charakteren Tiefe verleiht. Walters' Schreibstil ist mitreißend und schafft es, die spannendsten Aspekte zu beleuchten, ohne jemals langatmig zu wirken. Es ist ein wahrer Page-Turner, den man in kurzer Zeit verschlingen kann, und die offenen Enden lassen die Lust nach einer Fortsetzung steigen. Die Feldscher-Chroniken sind ein packender Zyklus mit insgesamt drei Bänden, und ich empfehle dieses Buch jedem Fan von Dark Fantasy, auch wenn ich mir gerne mehr historische Tiefe und ein wenig mehr Blut wünschen würde. Abschließend vertrauen meine Worte darauf, dass „Der Lehrling des Feldschers“ nicht nur unterhaltsam, sondern auch verdient ist, ausgezeichnet zu werden. Greg Walters hat mit seinem Werk etwas geschaffen, das die Leser noch lange begleiten wird. Besonders für Gelegenheitsleser ist das Buch für 19,99 Euro ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Taucht ein in die packende Geschichte, und lasst euch von Gustavs Reise fesseln.

"El Cardenal Napellus" (Der Kardinal Napellus) es un relato de terror del escritor austríaco Gustav Meyrink (1868-1932), publicado en la antología de 1916: Murciélagos (Fledermäuse). Es probablemente uno de los cuentos de Gustav Meyrink más destacados, refleja en cierto modo los peligros de la búsqueda de la verdad, que para el autor está relacionada con aquello que vulgarmente se denomina magia y el ocultismo. Jorge Luis Borges, que prologó El cardenal Napellus en La biblioteca de Babel, sostiene que los relatos de Gustav Meyrink se caracterizan por poner en evidencia que el universo es un lugar absurdo y, por consiguiente, irreal.
