Les mesures douanières de Donald Trump sont entrées en vigueur. Ce n'est pas sans conséquences, notamment, pour Apple. Le problème pour la « marque à la pomme », c'est qu'une grande partie de son produit phare, à savoir l'iPhone, est produite en Chine. Décryptage. On les craignait, elles sont désormais entrées en application : les mesures commerciales de Donald Trump à l'encontre de la Chine sont entrées en vigueur ce mercredi 9 avril. Dorénavant, tout produit fabriqué et venant de la Chine arrivant sur le sol américain est taxé à partir d'aujourd'hui à hauteur de 104%. Concrètement pour Apple, si tout à l'heure, une cargaison d'iPhones produits en Chine arrive dans un port américain, l'entreprise devra payer cette surtaxe aux autorités. Et cette surtaxe devrait coûter très cher à Apple, quoique, au bout de la chaîne, c'est le consommateur américain qui en paiera le prix fort. D'après le bureau d'analyses Rosenblatt Securities, le prix d'un iPhone 16 SE devrait passer de 599 à 846 dollars. Cela correspond à une augmentation du prix de 43%. Et forcément, une telle hausse pourrait provoquer un recul de la demande. On estime déjà de 8 à 10 millions d'unités en moins vendues dans le monde sur les prochains mois, ce qui représente tout de même 5% des ventes d'iPhones par an par Apple. Et quand on sait que ce produit représente la moitié des revenus de l'entreprise, ce n'est pas négligeable. À lire aussiDans la tête de Donald Trump, que veut-il gagner avec sa guerre commerciale?Trouver des alternatives, et vite Apple a pris ses précautions. Avant que cette surtaxe n'entre en vigueur, selon le Wall Street Journal, Apple a vidé ses stocks de ses sites d'assemblage. Ces derniers jours, ce sont cinq avions-cargos remplis d'iPhones qui ont quitté la Chine en urgence pour atterrir aux États-Unis. C'est en effet une opération artisanale et éclair pour constituer des stocks et gagner du temps, mais ce n'est pas viable sur le long terme. L'autre solution trouvée par la « marque à la pomme », c'est d'augmenter ses capacités de production dans un autre pays moins concerné par les mesures du président américain. Il s'agit de l'Inde. Les droits de douane sur sa production sont de 26%. Et puis produire en Inde ça permet à Apple de continuer d'utiliser des pièces chinoises sans être soumis aux taxes de Donald Trump. Garder un œil sur les États-Unis Mais Apple pourrait produire aux États-Unis, intégralement, comme le souhaite Donald Trump. Sauf que ça coûte cher, très cher. Un iPhone, c'est 2 000 composants. Les fabriquer sur le sol américain aurait un impact considérable sur les prix. Si on se réfère aux travaux du cabinet de recherche WedBush, un iPhone produit intégralement aux Etats-Unis coûterait 3 500 dollars. C'est trois à quatre fois plus qu'aujourd'hui. A ce prix-là, il serait difficile de trouver des acheteurs.  À lire aussiComment les multinationales ont anticipé les droits de douane américainsPour autant, Apple a fait un pas vers les autorités en promettant 500 milliards de dollars d'investissements aux États-Unis. Il existe une marge de manœuvre, notamment  en négociant avec l'administration Trump pour éviter de subir trop fortement sa guerre commerciale. Le lobbying entre la Silicon Valley et la Maison Blanche doit être intense. En tous cas preuve que la situation fait peur, le cours d'Apple à la Bourse de New York a perdu plus de 20% depuis l'annonce des mesures douanières du président américain la semaine dernière.  Finalement, Apple n'est qu'une illustration de bon nombre d'entreprises américaines qui ont délocalisé leur production et qui sont confrontées à la politique commerciale de Donald Trump !
