Philadelphia Phillies Sweep the Giants Last Weekend!

Play Episode Listen Later May 7, 2024 10:07

Philadelphia took their offense to a whole different level. They kept the ball inside the park to beat the Giants four games in a row. Basically, the whole offense contribute to the small ball type offense and that makes this offense so dangerous. The Phillies outfielders Marsh, Rojas, and Castellanos took their defense to another level. The pitching was spectacular from Nola, Wheeler, and Suárez. They adjusted to the Giants' offense even when San Francisco got on base at times.

Is Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown Part of Your Top Ten Passing Duos in the 2023 Season?

Snake's Chat discussed with you the details of why the Safety and the linebacker position shouldn't be a weakness of the Philadelphia Eagles team moving forward this season. Then I broke down why Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown are real contenders to be a top 5 passing duo this season and I also gave my reason of why they are number 5 and not higher on the list. Is DE Derek Barnett worth a second-round pick if Philadelphia decides to unload the struggling d-lineman? If he wants to be a starter somewhere else that pick is fair. I think Josh Sweat will have a bigger role this season if Barnett gets traded. I explained my reason in the episode.

Carlos Alcaraz is the New Number One! Does Joel Embiid want Out In Philadelphia?

I went more in-depth into how Carlos Alcaraz beat out Novak Djokovic in Wimbledon to take over the number one ranking spot. In my opinion, the Sixers do not have the right pieces around Joel Embiid to continue building around the superstar center. Tear it down and build around Tyrese Maxey! The signings of centers Mo Bamba and Montrezl Harrell prove that it could be the end of Joel Embiid.

Are the Philadelphia Eagles on the same level as the Buffalo Bills? Philadelphia Flyers showed a lot of positives during this three game losing streak.

I broke down why the Eagles are better at closing-away opposing teams late in games than the Buffalo Bills. Philadelphia is slightly better at shutting down running backs than the Bills. I analyzed why the Jets and the Vikings both secured a win against Buffalo. I also stated why the Eagles have a difficult schedule in terms of dealing with tough running backs like Dalvin Cook, Jonathan Taylor, Saquan Barkley, Tony Pollard, Zeke Elliot, Derick Henry, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillion, Alvin Kamara this season. Philadelphia lost against the Blue Jackets, Senators, and Stars the last few days but they also showed promise from the top line in Kevin Hayes, Travis Konecny, and Owen Tippett. When these guys are on the same shift they create so many open opportunities to score.

Did Philadelphia make an error letting go Jimmy Butler? Howie Roseman gets a CB2 in James Bradberry and could safety Jessie Bates become available for the Birds?

Play Episode Listen Later May 20, 2022 74:01

In my own belief, the Sixers did make a huge mistake letting Jimmy Butler walk into free agency two years ago. I broke down why Philadelphia lost 99 to 90 in game 6. Also, I did my own analysis on what Daryl Morey had said about bringing back Doc Rivers for the third season and how Morey could move Tobias Harris or another player to acquire a star player. Yes, Jimmy Butler is playing out of his mind in this postseason but another player that has that same dog mentality personality is Washington's guard Bradley Beal who can potentially be in a Sixers uniform sooner than later. For the Philadelphia Eagles, Howie Roseman is just building a winning team after landing CB James Bradberry in free agency on a one-year deal, 10 million. I think this move was something Philadelphia needed to address and Roseman got it done to fill that hole in the secondary department. Now I understand Marcus Epps could be a sleeper to start in the safety position but if Howie Roseman wants to really impress the people from the Philly area, the birds need to trade for star safety from the Bengals Jesse Bates III who is just a monster attacking opponents in the midfield location. Cincinnati and Bates III are in a disagreement on contract talks. It sounds like the safety doesn't even want to play on the franchise tag and when a player is being asked to play on that type of deal that team may not believe in that player's ability to play for them. #sixers67 #eagles67

Are the Sixers gassed out after hearing Embiid wouldn't win MVP? Center Conor Geekie is the best available guy for the Flyers to take at the 5th pick in the 2022 draft.

Snakes Chat broke down why Nikola Jokic shouldn't have won MVP and how Joel Embiid should have taken home that award. The two centers completely have different playing styles but the major reason why Embiid is so good is how he energies the whole team to rally behind him to win and the defensive machine Embiid to shut down Miami's guard Tyler Herro. I explained that the Sixers are hurting after game five because James Harden, Tobias Harris, and Tyrese Maxey struggled in their strengths in Miami and that is why Philadelphia lost that game. The Flyers landed the 5th overall pick in the lottery draft and the center from the Western Hockey League is going to be a special player in the NHL if he gets developed the correct way. His puck control and the way he escapes a turnover in tight situations is something Philadelphia should reserve a reservation on Conor Geekie for the draft. Also, I did an analysis on the Morgan Frost, Owen Tippett, and the Noah Cates line to break down how special this line could be next season. #sixers67 #flyers68

Doc Rivers is navigating this Sixers team to the ground. Howie Roseman found a lot of gold in the draft.

The Sixers' issues are all over the court, Philadelphia is fouling at the wrong time, and Rivers is putting guys in who can't play the game of basketball such as DeAndre Jordon, and Furkan Korkmaz, and expect those guys to defeat players like Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro. That's a huge mistake by Rivers and I understand that this coach doesn't have consistent players on the bench at the moment, but to me, that is the biggest lame excuse simply because Doc Rivers has experience in the playoffs. Do you think if Rivers is so decorated as a coach why is he not rounding the troops to play past their level of play this time around? Yes! On the offensive side of the ball, I have no idea what Doc Rivers is drawing up, his plays look disorganized and that is why this team is failing every night against Miami. Here comes Howie Roseman! This guy stole the show once again in the undrafted category but also throughout the whole draft. I analyzed all of his picks including Jordan Davis, a trade for AJ Brown who we give up the 18th overall pick, and a late rounder in this past draft. I broke down the rest of the picks such as telling why the Cam Jurgens pick could have been a bad pick for some people because of the lack of talent in the safety position but this center from Nebraska is just a rare player. He can block very well everywhere he is on the field. Cam Jurgens can also create open gaps when he is playing center or the guard spot. Yes, he is that good of an o-lineman. #sixers67 #eagles67

Doc Rivers is shipping this team in the wrong path before playing the Toronto Raptors in the playoffs. The Phillies are swinging for losses against the New York Mets this past series.

I do not feel confident in the Sixers at this very moment before they play Toronto this weekend and next week. I broke down the games Doc Rivers lost the Sixers a win in the defensive side of the zone. I explained why James Harden is struggling to find his shot on the offensive side in the zone. On the other hand, the Philadelphia Phillies showed promise against the A's. The pitching and hitting were complementing each other. Facing the New York Mets was a different story. The hitters for this Philadelphia team were swinging at pitches that weren't necessary to hit. They were swinging and missing a nasty breaking ball in the dirt in the middle of the plate. The pitchers kept on throwing and locating a nasty slider/curveball that showed movement on the left side of the plate at the end of each throw. A huge problem for the Phillies but it is good to see these issues early on now and not late into the season.

Didi Gregorius is part of the reason the Phillies are having Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott split time at the hot corner. Howie Roseman just pulled an elite move by trading for 5 picks from the Saints.

The Philadelphia Eagles just acquired the future from the Saints a few days ago. The Eagles gave up their 16th, 19th overall pick, and a sixth-rounder for New Orleans' 18th overall pick, a third, and a 7th rounder back to Philadelphia. The Saints also sent a 2023 first-rounder and a 2024 second-rounder in part of that trade. For the first round, I would like the Eagles to draft an offensive player and a defensive player. For the third round, I like the Eagles to draft a guard out of Oklahoma. His name is Tyrese Robinson and I broke down the strength he has in that position. For the Phillies in my opinion Gregorius is blocking Stott's opportunity at shortstop. I discussed how the Phillies are making a huge mistake keeping Didi. I broke down what the Phillies have to do to succeed in today's home opener against the Oakland A's at 3:05 The X factor for the Phillies is Aaron Nola who is pitching in his fifth home opener and I don't feel comfortable in Nola. I gave my own analysis of why I am feeling not great about pitcher Aaron Nola.

Certain Phillies players have shown promise this spring! Extending Roseman was the right choice.

Philadelphia, is Mickey Moniak for real? It seems like it to me. His swing looks level to the ball this spring. It is all from making that small step first and directing his hands to where the ball is going to be and he creates all that power from being ready to hit. The Phillies' other prospect INF Bryson Stott has been the most consistent hitter. He causes issues for pitchers by getting behind the count and drawing a walk or a hit. Stott has that elite/ uppercut swing. Pitchers Corey Knebel and Cristopher Sanchez have shown their consistent pitching this spring and they heavily threw their pitches in the same areas where batters have trouble in. The Adam Haseley trade to Chicago White Sox makes room for Mickey Moniak to grow in that position. Jefferey Lurie explains why he is committed to Jalen Hurts now and the reason he gave that extension to Howie Roseman. After the 2017-2018 super bowl run, Roseman built his team through the team's actual picks but consistently through trades as well for the draft. I broke down some trades Howie acquired and the players he picked were cornerback Avonte Maddox, Lt Jordan Mialita, LB Shaun Bradly, and more. I made a complete breakdown of the new signings of linebackers Hassan Reddick and Kyzir White. In my belief, By the Eagles signing those two linebackers it will switch the approach in the draft. Philadelphia has three picks in this years draft. I would like them to draft a wide receiver in Jahan Dotson from Penn-state. He has unbelievable footwork that makes him create separation from his defenders. With the 16th overall pick the Eagles should pick Safety Jalen Pitre from Baylor. He's a very productive safety in front of the line of scrimmage. With the last pick the defensive end George Karlaftis from Purdue beats defenders by throwing off their balance. Philadelphia could potentially draft the stud defensive end. I gave my analysis on what Jalen Hurts has to do to succeed this upcoming season. Also Camden County College lost the series against Brookdale Community college yesterday.

Aaron Nola continues his struggles into spring training. The Claude Giroux trade return from Florida Panthers was a perfect package to start the new era.

Camden County Cougar's baseball team is currently on a 7 game losing streak. The Cougars will play against Bergen Comunity College tomorrow at 12:00 and 2:00. Then they play them again on Monday at Bergen Community College. The start time will be 3:30. The Philadelphia Phillies, I broke down the signings of Kyle Scwarber, Nick Castellanos including their press conference and how important they are in the lineup. I discussed the signings of relievers Cory Knebel Jeurys Familia, and Brad Hand. In my opinion, they will boast this bullpen in a huge way. I broke down why the Phillies can not give up on Alec Bohm and correct his struggles. Aaron Nola is another guy who is showing issues from last year and in order for Nola to be successful is to trust his fastball and curveball. Obviously, there are more players to watch out for in a Philadelphia uniform but the two guys who are showing up to play are pitcher Christopher Sanchez and infielder Johan Camargo who hits tough pitches in the zone early on. If Alec Bohm is having a tough time playing at the hot corner or at the plate Camargo is a guy who needs to be on that roster come opening day. Pitcher Christopher Sanchez chose his fastball early on and that pitch stayed consistent throughout the inning. II mentioned other signings as well such as Rhys Hoskins avoiding arbitration I broke down Claude Giroux's tenure here and how he helped Travis Konecny this year regain his trust the last couple of weeks. Konecny shined against the Blues. I discussed how the return for Claude Giroux was a great package back and how Owen Tippett is already proving to the City of Philadelphia why they traded for him and the way he plays is like a 10-year veteran so far in games. I also gave my analysis on the 2023 draft picks and how that draft will be deep with talent. I said who the Flyers should draft if Philadelphia decides not to include that in trade talks to trade defenseman Ivan Provorov to raise his value in the off-season. I expressed my opinion on the new Rasmus Ristolainen deal and I completely understand that he has been one of our best defensemen but ever since he received that contract he had a difficult time in front of the net and behind the net in the defensive zone. Now I am not saying he does not deserve a contract he absolutely does but not 5.1 million dollars.

Since the Philadelphia 76ers traded for James Harden, he has made his presence known with the team like helping Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Mattise Thybulle grow into elite players. Joel Embiid is already elite but James Harden is here to make him even more elite. I broke down the struggles the Sixers have faced the last three games against the Timberwolves, Knicks, and the Knicks again. I did a complete breakdown of how James Harden is making the Sixers be a rising team and how they have the most dangerous offense when moving the ball around in the offensive zone. I gave my opinion on why the Philadelphia Flyers should skip over trading for star winger Filip Forsberg. The Flyers have so many issues like not having strong prospects but I think center Owen Mclaughlin, winger Elliot Desnoyers, center Jay O'Brien, winger Tyson Foerster, winger Isacc Ratcliffe, winger Wade Allison, defenseman Yegor Zamula and center Samu Tuomaala are prospects Philaldephia should not trade away simply of the talent they have. On Wednesday the women's basketball team for Camden County lost 85 to 69 against Rowan College South Jersey of Gloucester in the NJCAA Region Semifinals. Many think Juan Soto was crazy to turn down a massive 350 million dollar, 13-year extension. I explained why the Nationals superstar OF decided to not accept that contract. On to the Flyers, I broke down the reason why Philadelphia lost earlier this week against the Hurricanes and the Blues. Forward Konecny will be an awesome candidate to get in a better position for this upcoming draft class for 2022. Defenseman Justin Braun is another Flyer who is a perfect guy to be traded and he is worth a third-round pick. I broke down Braun and Konecny's style in the last 5 games. The Hurricanes are interested in Bruan if they can not pull the trigger on the three guys they went. If the Flyers trade for the Hurricanes 2022 third round, Philadelphia should draft a physical defenseman in Jorian Donovan. The answer to the triva question will be announced on Thursday next week. #flyers68

Ben Simmons Going Through Personal Issues Not Mental Health. Colorado's Top Level prospect Alex Newhook is a Right Choice For Philadelphia. Isaac Radcliffe is a Better Option Than Morgan Frost.

I broke down everything you need to know about Ben Simmons situation and why I think the personal problem he's having is about Joel Embiid. I covered today why they lost against Boston 135-87 Tuesday night. Milwaukee Bucks plays the Sixers tonight at 7:00. For the Philadelphia Flyers, Claude Giroux is the best option to help this club get back a heavy load and Colorado is one of the teams Giroux is interested in going to. Winger Alex Newhook is a player who has the talent to be on the top six lines but is put on the third line due to being in the NHL not that long and Colorado wanted to be patient with their prospects. In my opinion, he doesn't deserve to be on the third line and that is why Philadelphia is a better option for Newhook to succeed on the top lines due to the lack of talent in the Flyers organization. When he played for Boston College was rushing into the offensive zone to grab the puck where he had three defenders on him and he used his right skate to get the puck over to his left side to create open space for him to make a spectacular accurate shot under the left goalie's skate for a wide-open goal. That was a sick deke move with the puck. The Flyers had trouble clearing the zone against Pittsburgh Tuesday night which resulted in a 5-4 loss in overtime. Winger Isaac Radcliffe was playing excellent defense and it showed when he shut down Kris Letang. His wingspan with the stick is just unreal and that is why center Morgan Frost isn't better than him. Tonight the Flyers will play the Capitals at 7:00. The line to watch out for are forwards, Carl Hagelin, Garnet Hathaway, and defenseman Nick Jensen in the offensive zone. They will have double setups before making a slick move to one of them for a goal. #flyers68

Is Jalen Hurts really the guy to build around? Chuck Fletcher hints this could be it for Flyers Captain Claude Giroux in an orange and black uniform.

I broke down why Jalen Hurts could be trade bait to acquire a better talented quarterback like Russell Wilson. After watching the football games last week I believe Jalen Hurts will have to take a huge stride to match what Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford and Joe Burrow did last weekend. Jalen Hurts made numerous silly mistakes this year where Mahomes, Allen, Stafford, and Burrow excelled the most in. Would the Philadelphia Eagles take a risk to develop Jalen Hurts for another season or take even a bigger risk to draft QB Malik Willis from Liberty who is a better version of Hurts? Philadelphia has to decide soon. The Eagles might not necessarily have bad contracts but players who bring bad value on the field. I broke down what I mean by that. After watching Chuck Fletcher speak at the press conference on Wednesday I truly believe Claude Giroux may be a strong canadite to reshape this team and bring in top level talent here in Philadelphia. Fletcher also mentioned the Flyers already brought in prospects who can consistently play on the top two lines. I broke down why winger Wade Allison, winger Tyson Foerster, winger Joel Farabee, center Morgan Frost, and defenseman Cam York who played for the Flyers have shown promise on the top six lines. Philadelphia Eagles were very impressive against the Atlanta Falcons. How come? The 6 takeaways from that game are wide receivers create space from opponents, the offensive line was excellent especially LT Jordan Mialita having a high football IQ, impressed with how many offensive blocks there were to extend plays for Hurts, Jalen Hurts himself was spectacular due to his calmness to make plays, the defense was much better in a long time last week, and Miles Sanders proving people wrong about him not being a top 10 player. I also discussed the upcoming game against the 49ers this Sunday at 1:00. I think the wide receivers will have a big game because Jason Verrett is out for the season for San Francisco. Why? Jason Verrett to me didn't have a great game against the Lions. His game last week was in zone coverage and the reason why he was succeeding was that the wide receivers for Detriot barely created separation. The Eagles on the other hand will use that to take advantage of the Niners' CBs because the wide receivers for Philadephia worked on creating separation this summer and are very good in plays this season. I predict the wideouts will have a big game against San Francisco and win 30 to 20 to improve to 2-0 since 2014. What is your prediction for week 2?

Philadelphia is Having Pitching Problems in the Last 4 series

The reason why Philadelphia struggled against teams like Miami, Milwaukee, Colorado, and the first game of the Cubs series are the pitchers were switching their pattern up against batters. In the last 13 games, Philadelphia's pitchers failed to recognize that in the first 4 innings they were hitting the strike zone effectively such as their fastballs were having success in the left and bottom of the strike zone. Then all of a sudden they were hitting the strike zone with the fastballs in different areas of the plate and I am like, hold on we are not failing in the first 2 areas of the plate, why are the Phillies changing up the pattern here. That is the main reason why hitters were succeeding against the Phillies pitchers because they took advantage of that mistake. I also brought on a few people to discuss why the Phillies are collapsing and who is to blame for this team's recent downfall. #phillies67

Why? I think last year Zach got affected in the workplace that was by a personal choice. Zach revealed that he picked a word every year with his wife. That word was "trust." That word probably had him think, Oh maybe I need to trust people or myself a little bit more. If you choose a word every year maybe people struggle with that particular word. The word that I struggle with every day is staying committed to something. What word do you have struggle with each and every day? In the press conference, Ertz looked happy because he probably picked another word to follow this year. What word could it be? Forgiveness. Thanks for listening to episode 16, season 2.

Did the Flyers Make a Wrong Decision Giving Travis Sanheim a huge deal?

The Flyers I don't think realize how badly they let Travis Sanheim win. He avoided arbitration with the team two days ago. He got paid a little above 4 million and staying 2 years. Reasons why that contract was a mistake: poor instincts on defense because of how horrible his stance was. Another reason was he looked really confused on the ice all year but I analyzed the last 10 games of the season. He looked confused 9 percent of the time he played. The formula was how many times he looked lost: 20 times, divided by the total ice time he had: 225:10=9%. On the video, I watched Travis Sanheim mess up in his defensive form 21 times, divided by how many times he was in a good stance which was 8 times. Convince that I am wrong? #flyers68
