Unseen FootageEpisode 7 - Dumb and Dumber, Dumb and Dumber ToApologies for the delay! We've been busy, and some new things are happening with Unseen Footage in the New Year, so we're getting ready for that! In any case, this deluxe episode is here for your enjoyment. We discuss Dumb and Dumber, a favorite among 90s kids, and its sequel, that got released just last month, to not-surprisingly lackluster reviews. Everyone knew it was going to be bad, so let's focus on the good: Jim Carrey's amazing acting ability, Jeff Daniels' making the most of it, some of the most beloved bits and sight gags that stand the test of time, and unintentionally bad characterization that leads to some awesome moments. For the Christmas season, enjoy Lloyd Christmas, and his friend Harry, as they try to make it through two movies alive. Beware the Sea Bass!Download the episode here!
Unseen FootageEpisode 6 - Beetlejuice Happy Halloween! To celebrate, Claire and David retread some familiar ground with director Tim Burton, and his other movie with Michael Keaton: 1988's BEETLEJUICE! What follows is a discussion of the film's overall flaws and shortcomings. Claire wants to give the whole movie an extreme makeover, but David argues for the approach taken, warning about worse things that could have happened, both lighter and darker. Does the movie work on its own, or is it just full of good ideas? Who exactly are we supposed to root for in the proceedings? And find out what Claire would do given eternity in this month's Unseen Footage!Download the episode here!
Unseen FootageEpisode 5 - Point Break1991's Kathryn Bigelow-directed action surfer flick is a trip, to say the least. No one is quite sure how to describe it or explain it, but the ride is enjoyable nonetheless. Claire and David attempt to put everything into words as they talk about the performances of Swayze, Reeves, Petty, and Busey, as they debate the validity of the iconic skydiving scene, Claire puts forward a thesis on action movies, and David puts forth a thesis on bromances. It's September's episode where we discuss either the greatest surfer bank robbery movie ever made, or the greatest surfer bank robbery movie you've never seen, because this is Unseen Footage!Download the episode here!

Unseen FootageEpisode 4 - Labyrinth1986's Jim Henson/George Lucas/Terry Jones/Brian Froud/David Bowie collaboration was initially a flop, and was confusing in tone compared to the '82 Dark Crystal. In subsequent years, especially that weird time called the early 90s, it became somewhat of a cult classic in the vein of Rocky Horror Picture Show. Claire and David dive straight into the problems of "road movies", journeys that teach lessons, and the characterizations of this movie specifically. No one knows exactly how we ended up with Labyrinth, but Jim Henson's puppet wizardry is absolutely fantastic.Download the episode here!
Unseen Footage Episode 3 - Clueless1995's cult comedy adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma on its surface may seem like a simple teen coming-of-age chick flick, with a socially conscious valley girl at its center. But that's just the surface! Claire and David go into the sharp and witty dialogue, the satirical send-up, and the deceptively complex characters. They also love how beautifully (and permanently) the movie encapsulates the 90s. For those questioning the portrayal of women in the media today, as well as fans of comedy in general, Clueless is a marvelous intersection.Download the episode here!
Unseen FootageEpisode 2- Batman1989's Batman can be argued as the movie that kickstarted the entire comic movie franchise into high gear. Only Superman had made a successful leap to the big screen, and everything else about every other superhero was rather campy and trite. Tim Burton and Michael Keaton set out to change all that, with a darker and grittier adaptation of the dark knight, years before Christopher Nolan ever would. And Burton still manages to balance comedic set pieces with brilliant character nuance. Join Claire and David as they present their respective theses on Batman as a character, as well as how this movie stands up to the rest of the canon.Download the episode here!
Unseen FootageEpisode 1 - Hook1991's Hook may be one of the divisive entries we're likely to do on Unseen Footage, and it's our debut episode! It's the movie that started led to the conception of the show, and one of David's favorite movies of all time. People are firmly divided over the film's quality, over generational lines, over critical lines, and over Peter Pan mythos lines. But we're here to talk about both its merits and its shortcomings, so joins us won't you? For our first episode! Download the episode here!
We butchered Bond history last time out, so why not give the same treatment to horror films now? Actually, it's not that bad, as Kai has plenty of horror street cred; in fact, it's Dylan's lack thereof that Kai mostly wanted to speak about (though we're both pretty lacking when it comes to vintage horror flicks). So we delve into our childhoods to see where our horror roots (if any) were grown and what our current attitudes are towards the state of horror. Also, HALLOWEENY HORROR THEME HOW TOPICAL! This and much more coupled with Dylan's biting analysis and Kai's wry wit and remarkable humor on an all new episode of Film Don't Hurt. ENJOY!!! So why are we doing a James Bond-centric episode a year after Skyfall and probably a good two years before the next entry in the series? Well, mostly because we can. But also because this is a "Dylan" episode and because I've been watching them, in order. So I got a bug up my ass to talk to Kai about the series. And so we did. We go through our histories with the series, overall impressions, what's next, why it's so damn popular, and much more. This and much more coupled with Dylan's biting analysis and Kai's wry wit and remarkable humor on an all new episode of Film Don't Hurt. ENJOY!!! What makes a great action film? Especially, what makes a great one in the 25 years since Die Hard, which is widely regarded as the quintessential action film, which spawned countless ripoffs, which has become the one against which most modern action films have been judged? Those were the questions the folks at Vulture attempted to answer a few months back, posting a list of the 25 best actions films since John McTiernan's 1988 classic. It was an eclectic, somewhat controversial list that I not only really dug - even if I didn't agree with all of the choices - but thought would make for a solid jumping-off point for a discussion on...another episode of Film Don't Hurt. 6. Ryssen kommer!En färg, en tråd - röd. Nya inslag, nya jinglar, högre produktionsvärde!
It's 2013, and all the biggest films are based on comic books. The top sitcom of the last half-decade features nerdy scientist types as leads...and it's not about them being bullied. A certain convention set in Southern California dominates pop culture for a week every year, and has spawned a million wannabe conventions all around the country. People who have scads of Star Wars action figures aren't mocked, but rather celebrated (and can make a pretty penny off them, if they're old enough and in good enough condition). So the question is: what does it mean to be a geek anymore? Who is a geek? How far does one have to go to be considered a geek amongst the geeks? These are the questions that plague Kai, so what better place to talk about them than with his MILF co-founder on another episode of FILM DON'T HURT? 4.

Apology to all of our listeners out there for the disappearance on our show, as we were all brain dead on what to talk about. Anyway, tonight's topic we pretty much gave away from the title is about farting. Ever wondered why and how we do it? [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="432" caption="Holankia Talk Show"][/caption]Ok, tonight show is basically me going solo due to the fact that Kevin wasn't able to join me due to the fact that he was sick. So I've decided to go ahead, even though I wasn't feeling too good as well. So tonight's topic is deciding factor on which telco provider is cheaper for Iphone 4. Earlier on when I did a rough calculation I thought the difference would only be 1-200. But when I used Excel to calculate, it seems that Maxis will only be cheaper provided if you tend to make more phone calls. So in conclusion, I think it goes down on which type of users will you be at the end of the day. If you tend to talk more(over 200 mins), I suggest you use Maxis. But in terms of SMS and Data plan, Digi will be a better choice as the free SMS offered by Maxis is only applicable to Maxis users only. And their data plan is charged at RM0.10/10kb and will be capped at RM250. Anyway, you can download the excel file which I've created for your reference only. And the calculation was based on calls, as I didn't do in terms of SMS or Data plan. So you decide on which provider you would like to use.Anyway, in this show I managed to call Richard and check up on him to see how's he doing. And at the end, I did a cover of Runaway Train by Soul Asylum. Sit back and enjoy.Download hereHost : AlexGuest : Richard Ling - http://www.richardling.netReference Link :-Comparison Excel Rate - http://bit.ly/ddPTBxMaxis Plan - http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/iphone4/rates.aspDigi Plan - http://www.digi.com.my/iphone/getone_want_iphone.htmlMaxis rebate RM1K - http://www.malaysianwireless.com/2010/09/maxis-iphone-trade-in-rm1k/
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Is this 4 real?"][/caption]Seriously, someone might need to check Digi's marketing plan or someone who came up with this plan. It's really freaking awesome, because it has a very low monthly commitment which is something I really love when I plan to subscribe to a plan. For the RM58 monthly charges comes with 200 mins of talk time, 200 sms, 20 mms to all networks. If you think about it, Digi has this 1 Malaysia spirit written in them. They even show it on their plans itself, check out the free calls, SMS, & MMS to local networks. Now how can you not love that. Since many of my friends are in different network, I'm still able to call them using the 200 mins talk time. And the best part is that, you won't get any extra charges when you use their internet. Even if you exceed your monthly quota they'll just lower down your bandwidth which I feel is fair. I remembered an incident where a friend of mine who is on a different network was given free internet for a certain amount monthly. At first he thought it would be sufficient, and there was one time he pretty much forgotten about his monthly quota and was shocked with his bills when it came. He went and called their customer service line, and was told that he must have mistaken their plans for a different carrier. But fortunately for him, it was capped at RM250 so he pretty much learned his lesson and decided to jump ship.If you would like to find out more about Digi's iPhone 4 plans you can check it out here. They even have packages for those who use a lot of talk time. It's really worth checking it out. Anyway, I love Digi Iphone 4 plans so much that I even came up with a song for it. So here it is. Enjoy!Download HereEverything has gone up lately,I really don't know why,The only thing that's going down is,Digi Iphone 4 plans. If you subscribe to autobilling,Another RM5 down,This is just because it's Digi Iphone 4 Great Plans.I love Digi Iphone 4 plans,Because it saves me dough,I know I won't get extra charges, Cause Digi told me so.I love Digi I phone 4 plans,Because it loves me too,If you're a cheapskate just like me,Switch to the digi Iphone 4 plans too.Sending SMS is just a breeze,You can send it to all your friends.Because this is Digi Iphone 4 plans,You won't have to worry if they're not in the Digi clan.If you subscribe to autobilling,Another RM5 down,This is just because it's Digi Iphone 4 Great Plans.I love Digi Iphone 4 plans,Because it saves me dough,I know I won't get extra charges, Cause Digi told me so.I love Digi I phone 4 plans,Because it loves me too,If you're a cheapskate just like me,Switch to the Digi Iphone 4 plans too.
