Jim's next gig is Saturday, March 22 at the Eastwood Farm & Winery at 2531 Scottsville Rd, Charlottesville from 12:30 to 3:30pm. After a twenty-eight year career, Jim O'Farrell retired from the Army about sixteen years ago. Jim has been playing a guitar since childhood and now between being in a band and singing solo, a lot of his retirement is filled with writing and playing music. He told Paul what types of venues he plays, the type of music he plays solo as well as with the band and his method for writing songs. They then had a discussion about the history of the Blues, his musical influences and who some of his favorite artists are, both past and present. They talked about Jim being a Vegan along with the way he has changed his gym time mentality and how that has changed his life for the better. They also spoke about how Jim was affected by his interaction with the USO when he was a young soldier. For about the last eight years, Jim has been a volunteer for the USO at the Richmond International Airport and he told Paul about the mission of the USO and why Richmond is a unique USO Center. They discussed him growing up in northern Virginia and his interests which were motorcycles, playing the guitar and martial arts. Jim told Paul he knew he was going into the military at an early age, but he was the first in his family to make it a career. They discussed his military career including his hardest training and his deployments and then they finished by talking about his three sons
This episode of the CCA Corner podcast features an interview with Emily, a newly converted PTF (previously CCA) from Cincinnati. The discussion focuses on union involvement and the importance of CCAs attending branch meetings. Emily shares her experience successfully passing a resolution for a "no" vote on the recent tentative agreement (TA) at her branch. She emphasizes that despite personally benefiting from the TA, she voted no due to its inadequate address of CCA issues, particularly the low starting wage. Her branch unanimously supported the no vote and publicized their decision. Emily encourages CCAs to attend meetings, emphasizing the free food and drinks, the opportunity to meet union officers, and the importance of CCA voices in shaping the future of the union. She highlights the generally welcoming atmosphere of meetings and the need for solidarity and support among CCAs. Morris reiterates the importance of attending meetings, even if seemingly unproductive, to ask questions and hold leadership accountable. He also promotes Building a Fighting NALC and the CLC as avenues for further union involvement. The episode concludes with thanks to Emily and a call for solidarity and self-care. https://fromatoarbitration.com/cca-corner/
Epidode 311: When I met lifelong musician Red Young on board Delbert McClinton's Sandy Beaches Cruise, I knew I had to interview him. He's had one of those journeyman's careers that ties together all the threads of American music, from pop to R&B to jazz. He's a pianist, Hammond organ specialist, singer, arranger and producer, and at 76 years old, he's seen it all. He's worked with Kinky Friedman, Joan Armatrading, Dolly Parton, Sonny & Cher, Linda Ronstadt, Eric Burdon of the Animals, Marcia Ball, Janiva Magness, and of course Delbert McClinton himself, whom he met in his home town of Fort Worth, TX some sixty years ago. Sit back and enjoy the stories.

With the Senator being gone and getting prepared for deployment, we joined our good friends at Murrells Inlet Fishing Charters to talk charter fishing and whats biting right now in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina. Capt. Jason(The Flounder Pounder) will be sitting in with us over the 9 months that Stephen is deployed with the US Army, and assisting at the helm of Trilogy Outdoors. We grabbed a couple cold Mich Ultras, and sat down with some of the captains that fish under the MIFC armada. Captain Chris Regan of On The Fly Outfitters and Capt. Caleb Hartley of Carolina Hook and Line joined us to talk everything and anything charters. These charter captains have an incredible list of stories to tell and we want to give them a place to do just that. The entetainment factor is second to none and you will get some great laughs out of some of the experiences they have to share. A qualified charter captain does far more than just drive a boat and bait hooks. We will always promote captains that we would send our own families out with and anyone you hear represented in our show, are the ones you want to contact for your fishing needs. Thanks to these guys for taking the time to sit with us and get ready in the coming weeks for a big announcement out of us for a new Trilogy Outdoors produced podcast that is going to make your short list of must listen and download podcasts each week. Thank you to HealthyCell, Southern Crown Partners, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and GovWorld auctions for allowing us to represent their incredible products and services and for being a part of the Trilogy Outdoors Media family. Enjoy!!!
This week we recap some of the action from the first full week of games and dive into some of the games to look forward to this weekend. Also, some food reviews and a potential Juicy Lucy ranking coming from a listener!
Generators are highly sought after devices by both home and business owners due to the common problem that comes with power outages. Therefore, it's understandable that many people want to be prepared for such situations. As an electrician, generator sales can be lucrative. However, did you know that your sales can reach new heights with the help of a manual transfer switch?Failing to learn about this technology can result in missed opportunities to scale your project higher and offer premium services. Offering automatic generators may seem convenient, but they require more maintenance and have higher costs associated with using natural gas or propane. Additionally, automatic generators can leave customers with problems down the line.Instead, it's recommended that you offer portable generators, as they are relatively untouched in the market but have enormous potential. To make things even better, you can also offer Homelink, a manual transfer switch. This technology helps clients by providing a seamless transition from the main power source to the generator during outages.Offering this takes your sales to the moon by providing a solution that's more affordable, low maintenance, and easy to use. But what exactly is this technology? How does it help clients? Better yet, how does it take your sales to the moon, and how do you do it? Check out our podcast now to learn more about Homelink and how this little device can help you to improve your sales, attract new customers, and provide them with a unique and reliable solution for power outages.
As a coach, I often get into conversations about purpose and mission. My own journey has brought me to the conclusion that the purpose I am here to carry out is to remember who I and to share this journey of remembering with others.

As an electrician, clients may test you in so many ways. They may question your work, haggle on the price, ask for additional work outside of the agreed-upon scope, or make unreasonable demands. In some cases, clients may even become confrontational, rude, or threatening, which can be particularly stressful and challenging to manage. If you don't know how to handle this situation, you might lose the job, or even get negative reviews, affecting your business overall. Undeniably, this is a usual part of being an electrician. However, it is important to remember that the best way to handle difficult situations is with professionalism and respect. People don't do things for no reason, and clients you're handling may be frustrated, have a tough time, or simply not have a great life. And while this might not be a reason to act inappropriately, it gives you something to consider while you work out the best way to move forward. It's important to pause, take a deep breath, and try to understand the other person's perspective. Remember, you are more than what they perceive of you. You are bigger than the situation at hand. At the end of the day, you know yourself, and you have a better understanding of why things are happening. Use this knowledge to your advantage — be the bigger person and help resolve the situation. Regarding price haggling, if you feel like you're being taken advantage of, stand your ground and don't be afraid to show the client why you price your services the way you do. Explain all of the factors that went into determining the price, and if push comes to shove, let them know you have other options you can offer them if they don't want to go for the top choice. While showing your clients that you're an understanding and respectful person is important, don't forget to protect yourself. Know your worth and believe in the number you're going to charge. And most importantly, always have six options to offer because the more options you offer, the more likely the client is to find one that fits their budget. That way, you and your client can benefit from a mutually beneficial agreement. Ultimately, finding a way to balance both sides is the best way to reach an agreement that works for everyone.
