The Country Revival Farmers tornen un any més a Lloret de Mar amb motiu de la Festa Major de Santa Cristina. La banda, que és el quart any que vindrà per festa major, però que ha actuat moltíssimes vegades a Lloret, oferirà un concert aquest dimarts. L'Ajuntament fa valoració dels primers mesos d'aplicació del pla, un cop passat el punt àlgid de la temporada turística.

A través do programa Danza 3 da Xunta de Galicia, Xacarandaina aterra no festival 6 Coreógrafas da Estrada para amosar o traballo dunha agrupación que é algo máis ca un ballet folclórico ou unha banda de gaitas. Xacarandaina é un dos grandes recupe- radores do folclore tradicional e un exemplo da arte popular de Galicia. Falo con Quique Peón. "Dende hai case 50 anos levamos facendo un traballo de investigación, de recollida de campo e de posta en valor do folclore tradicional de Galicia". "É unha actuación de rúa onde se van ver distintos bailes e músicas que van ir pasando, que van facer un recorrido polo país. E o que se intenta ao final é que nos sintamos orgullosos da nosa propia cultura". "Eu creo que os grupos folclóricos o que menos teñen que facer é innovar, o que teñen que facer é gardar a tradición o máis pura posible". O Grupo de Música e de Bailes Tradicionais Xacarandaina formouse en outubro de 1978 na cidade da Coruña con membros de distintas agrupacións. O seu obxectivo principal e fundamental é a investigación e a interpretación do folclore do xeito máis fiel posible de como o atopa no seu lugar de orixe, buscando a maior pureza e o parecido coa realidade. Pretende, polo tanto, ser un exemplo vivo da arte popular de Galicia, continuada polo pobo e para o pobo. Para conseguir o seu obxectivo, o Grupo desprazase polas distintas aldeas e poboacións do país, facendo un importantisimo traballo de campo, recuperando así músicas, bailes, danzas, cancións, instrumentos e traxes autoctonos. Froito deste labor, o Grupo ten recollidos e montados a redor de 150 bailes e outras tantas pezas de música. No momento da súa formación o Grupo estaba composto por trinta persoas e dirixiano Rosi Ares e Lino Rivas. Na actualidade, o Grupo confirmano, aproximadamente, uns 50 compoñentes, na súa maioria procedentes da escola de Xacarandaina. We look at the latest offering from Google. The Pixel 8a continues the recent strategy of launching the new edition and then, approximately six months later a slightly standardised and one size fits all reason. At the same time, simply due to the passage of time, there are often some degree of upgrades, tweaks and patches with the a-series devices too. See more about the product here. Google Pixel 8a is launched, product review The price point is sightly lower than the 8 and 8 Pro, which came out around six months ago now. The Pixel 8a is pretty good straight out of the box. It does a lot of things well and builds on the new baseline that the Pixel 8 brought in. A use-case question might be, who is this aimed at. Hard core fans probably got the 8 when it came out, and extreme fan boys and girls might then be happily using that and then waiting for the 9 to come along. Who is then keen for the Pixel 8a? Our testers felt it is a good to great to piece of kit. Once you start using the camera, unless you go to the upper range of phones, you will find it hard to then revert to lower res devices. At the same time are people still buying new phones every six months? Some might be, but, thankfully, these phones are relatively robust, and not prone to breaking too fast. Sure we have accidentally taken out some, but, with the better cases and their slightly smaller sizes, they are more pocket friendly, and less likely to instantly die on you, if you do drop them. The Pixel 8a does have some slight upgrades in terms of memory, slightly better processing capabilities, and all and any of the other over the air upgrades that have been issued for the Pixel 8 since it came out. Our testers are happy to recommend the Pixel 8a if you need a decent, hard working, upper threshold, but not price busting device. At the same time they are also curious and interested to see where the Pixel 9 goes too, probably late this year or early in 2025. Today we're joined by industry legend Neil Biggin in an absolutely massive show! Neil regales us with hilarious stories as we cover a wide range of his electronic music during his time at Gremlin Graphics from about 1992-1996. He walks us through some memories of landmark events during the 16 and 32-bit eras: the launch of the CD32, the first days of the Playstation, and being at a company with one of the world's first motion capture studios. Neil Biggin began his career with Zool 2 on Amiga, and continued with games like the CD32 versions of Zool 1 and 2 and Top Gear 2, Top Gear 3000, the Actua (or VR) sports games, Loaded, Re-Loaded, a number of FIFA games from 1997-2000, and music porting duties for the Desert/Jungle Strike games. His earliest works are teeming with the lovely sounds of Rave and House music, but as his sound progresses he gets deeper into other genres like Metal, Jungle, Drum and Bass and much more. Whether you're new to his work or an old fan, Neil's music continues to sound great to this day. Neil is also in the process of re-releasing much of his music. He's also working on the latest iteration of the Amiga Immortal album series where Amiga legends like himself, Barry Leitch and many others come together to remaster their own works for modern audiences.
