Matt Canada came into work today – he walked through the Steelers facility – and was fired soon after. Mike Tomlin said today that nothing changes when grading Kenny Pickett as a player going forward. Kenny seemed to like working with Canada, but will this lead to the QB playing better? Should Pickett be beating himself up over this at all? Will Pickett improve negative parts of his game all of the sudden? How should the Steelers go about the game in Cincinnati on Sunday? Caller said he is so happy that Art Rooney has finally woken up. The favorites are out for who the next Steelers organization will be – it includes Ben Roethlisberger. Tomlin Tidbits – Mike Tomlin admitted that he didn't tell the players (or really anyone) ahead of time before the firing of Matt Canada.

The early reopening of State Highway 25A is being called a 'game-changer' for the Coromandel Peninsula economy. The route between Kōpū and Hikuai was severed in Cyclone Gabrielle. A new 124-metre bridge that now spans the resulting abyss will open by December 20, three months earlier than expected. The tourism-reliant area suffered a severe economic downturn as a result of the extra effort required to get there. Thames-Coromandel Mayor, Len Salt, told Mike Hosking that some of their hospitality operations have already booked out for this year's holiday period and are taking bookings for next year. He said that the official date gives both businesses and visitors certainty. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Making decisions ahead of time may, on the surface, seem like a constraining habit. Like your freedom to choose in the moment would be stripped away. However, it's been my experience that the opposite is actually true. There is a very real and very prevalent source of overwhelm and stress: Decision fatigue. We literally make hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of decisions every single day. But when I found the relief of utilizing this strategy of making decisions ahead of time – and honoring them – it has helped me alleviate some of my decision fatigue. Of course, there are some decisions that you simply can't, and others you shouldn't, make in advance but there are many you can. Let's talk about how and why to employ this powerful stress reducer.“When we make decisions ahead of time… we're not focused on seeking pleasure or avoiding pain or conserving energy. We aren't reactive… We're intentional.” – Dr. Sara DillWhat You'll LearnDraining mental energyUsing the more complicated part of your brainProactive thinking yields smarter decisionsDecision fatigueNatural rebellion against premade decisionsHow to employ this stress reducing habitWhen to change your mind or notContact Info and Recommended ResourcesPodcast Episodes that pair well with this one:How "I don't know" keeps you stuckHow To Make DecisionsTwo Minutes to Procrastinate Less and Accomplish MoreConnect with Sara Dill, MD, The Doctor's CoachI currently have space for new clients! One of the most effective decision making tools or approaches is to make decisions ahead of time. Meaning you make decisions with your logical brain before your emotional, less advanced and less logical brain takes over in the moment when stress or excitement rule. This method of making decisions leads to creating amazing results in your work and life. Making decisions ahead of time means deciding how you want to respond, what you want to do, or how you want to feel in advance of an actual event.Listen to the full episode to learn practical applications for this in your day-to-day work and your life. SummaryAndy Gocke, lead of the native AOT and app model team at Microsoft talks about ahead-of-time compilation (AOT) in .NET.DetailsWho he is, what he does. Quick overview of ahead-of-time compilation (AOT); finding your code. Traditional compilation, interpreter vs compiler, translation from source to target languages. Operating systems, intermediate language (IL). There's always an interpreter. Just-in-time compilation (JIT); Java ran on multiple OSes, but .NET was Windows only; .NET ran on multiple architectures. Ready-to-run (R2R) and trimming. Tiered compilation, variable performance. R2R mixes precompiled and IL, native AOT only has precompiled. Trimming - getting rid of unneeded things, trouble with plugins and reflection; static analysis - don't ignore warnings. Why AOT was built, where it is a good fit. How much work it was; Core RT, low adoption, but good feedback. Good and bad use cases for AOT. For .NET 7 console apps and libraries, or if you don't get trim warnings; a single trim warning is too many. AOT and non-AOT OSS NuGet packages. .NET 8 support for ASP.NET. JIT and IL will not go away. AWS Lambda functions and AOT, exclusions, problems that might occur; trimmable all the way down. Getting started with AOT. Can't turn off trimming. Rev. Andrew Jagow, pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church in Alexandria, VA, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study John 12:1-11. Six days before the Passover, the day before Palm Sunday, Jesus is in Bethany, the town where Mary, Martha, and Lazarus lived. At a dinner in Bethany, Mary comes to Jesus and anoints Him with extremely extravagant perfume. Feigning piety, Judas protests the action out of a desire to help himself to more money. Jesus commends Mary's action as having been done in preparation for His burial. As Jesus' fame for raising Lazarus continues to spread, the chief priests plan to kill Lazarus as well, a reminder that those who follow Jesus are treated with scorn by the world. “The Word Made Flesh” is a series on Sharper Iron that goes through the Gospel according to St. John. The disciple whom Jesus loved wrote his Gospel account as an eyewitness to Jesus' life and ministry. As we read the Word of God recorded by St. John, the Holy Spirit works in us so that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and so have life by faith in His name.
Many missionaries think "I'm not going to talk to that person on the street about Jesus because I'm afraid they won't end up accepting Jesus".
