Closer to home, Ontario Premier Doug Ford is calling for NDP Sarah Jama to not be permitted into the legislature following her apology for making offensive remarks about Israel. The motion by the Ford government said that Jama made "antisemitic and discriminatory statements" and defended "Hamas terrorists in her statements on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). And, amid an investigation into the Greenbelt landswap scandal by the RCMP, the Ford government has tabled a bill to return land back that was removed from protection in the Greenbelt and to enshrine the boundaries into law. Today marks five years since Cannabis was legalized in Canada. According to a new survey by the National Payroll Institute, the number of Canadians reporting financial stress-- as much as 20 per cent. They are calling it a national emergency. Canada's transport regulator reached a backlog of air passenger complaints amounting to 57,000--a new peak. How did it get to this point? Marty weighs in.

According to Canada's federal Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, François-Philippe Champagne, all riders of the TTC will have cell service by Oct. 3. He went on to say, "We are forcing the telcos to ensure that all subway users, regardless of the service providers they have, have access to mobile services". So, what will result from this rather bold ultimatum to the telecom giants from Ottawa. PETER NYGARD'S UPCOMING SEXUAL ASSAULT TRIAL IN TORONTO   Libby Znaimer is now joined by Kim Schofield, Criminal Defense Lawyer with Kim Schofield & Associates. Disgraced former fashion designer Peter Nygard is facing 6 charges  in his sexual assault case here in Toronto: five charges of sexual assault, and one charge for forcible confinement. The trial will now be taking place next week. Nygard has denied all of the allegations against him. Kim details the latest and what we can expect in the weeks ahead as the trial starts. When he's not at work at the Urban Worker Project, Andrew Cash is a musician. On January 26th, he spoke to rabble podcast exec producer Victoria Fenner in Barrie, Ontario, between sound checks just before a tribute concert to the late Gordon Downey Jr. of the Tragically Hip. The concert was in support of the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund. Andrew Cash is also a former member of parliament and one of the co-founders of the Urban Worker Project.   When he was a member of Parliament from 2011 to 2015, precarious work was one of Andrew's major issues of concern.  His National Urban Worker Strategy Bill was ground breaking legislation in Canada's Parliament dealing with precarious work and led to the first protections under federal labour laws for unpaid internships. The Urban Worker Project is an extension of that work.  Because Bill 148 only came into effect on January 1st of this year, Ontario is the focus of a lot of the discussion about labour changes, but changes are needed in other provinces too.  And changes are coming.  Does it go far enough?  Should it be a model for other provinces?
