Note: In preparation for an upcoming women's book club and Bible study in my home, I recorded my own personal favorite quotes and selections from the first half of OWN YOUR LIFE, a Christian book by Sally Clarkson, which I highly recommend. This audio recording was created for my own personal book study (in preparation for teaching a group of women who are going through this book). I decided to upload this recording to help other leaders to also prepare themselves to lead a study through this book. The audio is almost completely (perhaps 98%) exact word-for-word quotes, all in order, read from the first half of the book (from the INTRO through the end of CHAPTER 6) with an exception of a couple brief moments where I summarized a theme of a particular chapter to help understand a given selection. These selections are simply quotes, highlighted sections and Bible verses, all from OWN YOUR LIFE, that personally stood out to me. (by Ann Dunagan).
Continuing our study about Proverbs 31 from a Mission-Minded Perspective. THis week, our focus is having compassion and generosity for the POOR and being obedient to "Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth and judge righteously and PLEED the cause of the poor and needy." Ann Dunagan addresses these needs with a practical focus, especially for the busy-at-home mom and her family. What could you do? How can you help? Come listen and be encouraged!
In this episode, Ann Dunagan introduces the first, but lesser-known godly woman referred to in Proverbs 31: it's the MOTHER, who is giving strong council to her son, as he prepares to become a king. As we begin this new 6-week series on Proverbs 31, we discuss the importance of teaching biblical and personal convictions to our children and teenagers and having a high standard of love and example as Mission-Minded Families. As we study Proverbs 31:1-5, we consider the strong testimony of Missionary Hero and Olympic Gold Medalist, Eric Liddell (and his personal conviction about not running on Sunday), along with a personal conviction regarding drinking alcohol - including five good reasons for Mission-Minded Families to abstain.
How can we pray more effectively as busy moms? Ann Dunagan looks at strategic keys for busy moms from the Lord's PRAYER -- from Matthew 6:9-13. How did Jesus teach us to pray? How can we pray more effectively? How can we be more honest before God in prayer? Join Ann for this week's episode of Mission-Minded Families. Note: Bible memory pictures (teaching pages and flash cards) are available for these verses of The Lord's Prayer -- at http://daringdaughters.org/bible-pictures and also on iTunes.
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. The chapter is divided into 22 sections, one for each letter of the Hebrew alphabet, with 8 verses in each section, and every verse is about God's Word. This is a wonderful section of the Bible to listen to. Each section is less than one minute and the whole chapter takes 19 minutes. (Bible verses are from the NKJV, read by Ann Dunagan).
This 2 1/2 minute "Pure Words to Ponder" is Titus Chapter 3, verses 1-15 (NKJV), with no commentary, read by Ann Dunagan. This audio can be helpful for studying these verses, thinking about this scripture in context, or memorizing.

Highlights include a few quotes from Elisabeth Elliot, plus a Bible study focus on "exhorting" moms, God's grace and salvation through Jesus, keeping a focus on eternity, and being ZEALOUS for good works. Following our verse-by-verse study, Ann Dunagan also addresses several practical questions from real-life moms from Louisiana, Indiana, and Washington. "Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people zealous for good works" (Titus 2:13-14).
This 3 minute "Pure Words to Ponder" is Titus Chapter 2, verses 1-15 (NKJV), with no commentary, read by Ann Dunagan. This audio can be helpful for studying these Bible verses, thinking about this scripture in context, or memorizing.
As we continue our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Titus, today beginning chapter 2, Ann Dunagan discusses the balance between DOING GOOD as busy-at-home moms (in raising and loving our children and families) along with having a passionate heart for the needs of the world. Are we called to love the Lord, or to raise our little ones? Or is it possible to do both? A key verse is Titus 2:7 which says, "in all things, showing yourself to be a pattern of good works..." Be sure to see our "P.A.S.S.I.O.N. & Clarity Course for Women" - with training videos, PDF downloads and personal assessment tests -- all FREE. https://missionmindedfamilies.org
In this second episode in the series, Ann Dunagan goes verse by verse through the second half of Titus 1. The focus is not only KNOWING GOD, but obeying Him, being submitted to God, keeping our hearts pure and doing the good works (by Grace) that God has called for us to do. The podcast also focuses on finding your "PASSION" for God's purposes, looking through an acronym, P.A.S.S.I.O.N. along with Q & A's from real-life moms. Here's a link to the course recommended (FREE) https://missionmindedfamilies.org

Ann Dunagan shares practical insight for busy-at-home moms, with a practical focus on finding a MISSION statement for your life, and followed by Q & A's from moms. A key verse is Titus 1:5, "...that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I have commanded you." Learn how this verse can relate to you as a busy mom learning to train your kids to seek God personally in their lives.

They’ve encouraged me tremendously. Jon and Anne Dunagan are the founders of Mission Minded Families and they are serving with Harvest Ministries. We’re going to be talking about marriage and family today. This is something these guys know a lot about. So one of my favorite reasons for having Jon and Anne on the show today, is that these guys do a thing or two about marriage. And in fact, I just happened to get them on their 34th wedding anniversary. So Jon and Ann Dunagan, thanks for spending it with me. [Jon] Well, we’re glad to be here and we sure appreciate you having us on this interview. I appreciate you reminded me of the exact date of our wedding anniversary. I was trying to remember it earlier this morning, so I’m glad to be reminded. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/heidistjohn/support

The Fishless Fisherman (for children) TRANSCRIBED PODCAST BELOW Hey everybody, this is Heidi St. John, welcome to the podcast! Today is Friday December 21st. It is episode number 704 here at the podcast, and I am excited today because my friend Ann Dunagan is back on the show with me – and we’re going to be talking about how to have a Mission Minded Christmas! Stick around, I think you’re going to be encouraged. So you guys, we’re just a couple days away from Christmas now. I’m hoping that your lives have kind of settled down a little bit. Our family decided to take two weeks off this year. So what I mean by that is – we cleared everything on our calendars off and we bumped some people out and we decided that we’re gonna keep doing that because we need some white space if we want to make memories, and we want to have some time to sit around and play board games, and enjoy the time that we have off from school and from the normal hustle and bustle of life. It’s good to create some white space. The other thing that we’ve really wanted to do with our children, and I find – and I know – Ann, we’re going to talk about this in a minute — but I find as my kids are getting older I am becoming more and more aware of the preciousness of their season of life when they were little. And I think when you’re in the middle of that it’s easy to forget because we’re so inundated with all the things to do and there’s Christmas parties, and Christmas caroling, and Christmas cookie bake-offs – and all those things. And we lose sight of why we’re doing what we’re doing – and so Ann’s going to come back on today and we’re going to talk a little bit about having a mission-minded Christmas. Ann Dunagan, I love you, friend, thanks for coming back. [Ann Dunagan] Thank you. [Heidi St. John] So you and I have first of all – you’ve raised seven children and you are at the end of the raising of your children phase of your life. Yes? [Ann Dunagan] Yes. [Heidi St. John] And I also have seven children but you’re a few years ahead of me and I just watch with amazement and wonder as the Lord is just expanding your family, and allowing you opportune to speak into the lives of younger parents – which is kind of what we want to do today and sort of turn the hearts of parents toward the Lord Jesus so they can point their children to the Lord Jesus. And you have a passion for helping families do that. And so your idea to do a mission mine a Christmas and I was like – great, awesome! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/heidistjohn/support

World Missions and Mission Minded Families The last recorded personal directive of Christ to his disciples before he ascended into heaven, was this: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name...
For Christian families in the thick of it, the thought of world missions can seem unrealistic and overwhelming. Many of us feel like we are in survival mode, just taking care of our families and trying to protect our kids from the crazy world. (and that's all so important!) Yet, in light of the fact that 1/3 of our world has not yet heard the Gospel, Jesus' words in the Great Commission are still relevant: We are to make disciples of all nations. What do busy families do with that? Ann Dunagan is with us today to share her story of being a missionary family with seven children! But even more, Ann shares a lot of practical ways we can ALL be “mission-minded” right in the midst of our real lives at home. I think this is such an important conversation, whether mission work has been on your mind, or not (yet)! Hopefully Ann's words (and most certainly her enthusiasm) will inspire you to consider how you might raise kids who love God's Word and His people, and who are ready to say YES to His call, whatever that might look like!
