Show Notes Provided by Joe Peluso Batman--Batman--Can somebody tell what kind of world we live in, where a man dressed up as a bat gets all my press?' The Joker, as portrayed by Jack Nicholson, in Tim Burton's--Batman. The year was 1989: The Berlin Wall comes down! Phil Collins and Janet Jackson top the charts! Nintendo releases the Game Boy in Japan! And the long-awaited Tim Burton/Michael Keaton BATMAN movie hits the silver screen! The Batman in all media would never be the same. Join your hosts, James, Chris, and Joe as they explore, expound--and expose--this seminal CBM and all the impact it had on one of fiction's most beloved (unless you belong to that "cowardly lot") heroes. Pay close attention Bat-Fans, as Chris delivers one of the best dissertations on The Batman's duality and the skillful choices Michael Keaton made to bring this conflicted character to life. There's no need to visit The Actor's Studio in New York when our resident thespian is here to enlighten and inform. Take a bow, Chris. One sidenote folks: This is a very human Batman. He is not the best at everything he does. He like Khan (I'm talkin' to you Trekkers) might want to attend target school. Just putting it out there.

Here we go, Batfans... the first appearance of Batfleck! After being let loose with Superman, director Zach Synder persuaded Warner Bros to let him create a sequel... basically so he could make a Batman movie. Nat & Stu grind their way through this often dour movie, brightened somewhat by Henry Cavill's pure beauty, and Gal Gadot's scene-stealing turn as Wonder Woman. Stay tuned to the end where they'll reveal what they're going to focus on once this Batman series is complete! Enjoy!

(RIGHT CLICK THE IMAGE TO SAVE THIS EPISODE TO YOUR COMPUTER) The Batcave Podcast has just completed its look at the first season of the 1966 Batman television series. Over the course of the first 17 episodes, the podcast has taken shape into something John hopes everyone enjoys. But there was a different format John considered before going ahead with the show you are listening to today. He tried out this format by sitting down with author Dayton Ward and the two recorded a commentary on the first episode of the series. Here is the first part, edited in its entirety for your listenening pleasure. Stay tuned, Batfans. Next week, we're looking at the 1966 theatrical release. TheRiddler has plans for Batman in the form of a lawsuit claiming false arrest, but Batman knows the Riddler is not as innocent as he seems. Can Batman deduce the Riddler's scheme from the puzzles he's hidden inside the lawsuit? Can he figure out that Robin isn't Robin? And can we find all the ideas that would be repeated throughout the series that first led to its success and would ultimately lead to its downfall? Comment on the episode here or write batcavepodcast@gmail.com. Dayton Ward is the author of numerous media tie-in fiction works in such realms as Star Trek and The 4400. He is also the author of such original works as Counterstrike, The Last World War, Book 2 and The Genesis Protocol. When he's not writing or working for a software design firm, he's busy indoctrinating his two lovely daughters into the worlds that have so seriously warped his mind.

Hello fellow Gothamites, Nolanites, and Bat-Fans and welcome back to Across the Airwaves! This is of course the Road to TDKR Podcast Series of commentaries on the Bat-Films leading up to The Dark Knight Rises. HOWEVER, this time on Road to TDKR, your favorite host Dan Schmidt & I will be commentating on one of the most important films in movie, super hero, and comic book history. That film, of course, is The Dark Knight. As the longest and final film in this series of commentaries, Dan & I make a very special effort to not just enjoy the movie, but really dissect the most important elements of it. The Joker. The rise and fall of Harvey "Two-Face" Dent. The effect Rachel's death had on the characters. The importance of the Batman. Our theory on Heath Ledger's death and that his portrayal of the Joker may have driven him to madness. And our theories on how the events of this film will carry on over into The Dark Knight Rises. We dedicate this commentary to Heath Ledger, Conway Wickliffe, Jerry Robinson, and Christopher Nolan himself.
