This week Foo tell us how the RS got a trip to the shop for unknown CEL reasons. Check Engine code for a low battery in a key fob? Foo gets to drive an electric car and he's got comments. Some EVS are giving gas vibes, literally, but only in Europe (we're looking at you Shelby Mustang Mach E GT). EV charger talk... and why Tesla owns the charging market, sadly. Foo is interested in an electric skateboard, briefly. Plus more!

Shownotes: www.unpackingdesign.com/podcast/81There are many people seeking and embracing alternative means of transportation in major metropolitan areas where traveling through either public or private means is often unreliable. In places like New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago where traffic is unbearable and public transportation is congested, other means such as bicycling and skateboarding are faster and more reliable. One of the latest trends is e-scooters with a popular one from Boosted Boards (maker of a popular motorized long board skateboard) called the Boosted Rev that has a top speed of 24 MPH and 20 miles range. In this episode, Tim shares his latest pursuit of giving up his car and traveling from his house to his office and back by bicycling. In his search for alternative means of transportation, he came across the latest hot tech item, the Boosted Rev, and has been contemplating purchasing one for his daily commute. The durability, sleek aesthetic, powerful motors, and safety features makes the Boosted Rev a great purchase for short daily commutes.Mike and Tim compare the Boosted Rev to other popular forms of transportation from the Boosted Board to One Wheel. They also get into a debate about the downsides of the Boosted Rev including the weight (47 lbs) and the inconvenience of lugging it around a store or restaurant.Learn more about the Boosted Rev and other potential forms of transportation for short commutes in this episode of Unpacking Design! —Thank you for listening to Unpacking Design! To share your thoughts and make suggestions, keep the conversation going on twitter with Mike (@archivalley) and Tim (@tim_ung)Please consider leaving an honest rating and review on iTunes and anywhere else that you listen to podcasts. The goal is essentially to increase net-profit while increasing return on investment and increasing cash flow. Today we’re discussing The Goal by Eliyahu M. Goldratt. It is a business novel that Eliyahu used to introduce the “Theory of Constraints”, a sort of meta-theory for business (and life, really) that you can use to advance the output of just about any system. It is very much a “zero-to-one” book, where you’ll see the world differently after reading. We cover a wide range of topics, including: Improving all of your systems with the Theory of Constraints Discovering bottlenecks in various systems and effectively optimizing them Identifying your goal and making positive progress towards it Becoming a better manager or employee by using the Theory of Constraints Improving your time-management skills, productivity, and workflow Useful mental hacks for waking up easier and for making habits stick And much more. Please enjoy, and be sure to grab a copy of The Goal and to check out Nat’s Notes on the book! Following on from the success of their original Boosted Board exploit, the team went on to get their hands on the other popular boards on the market, and predictably broke all of them. Richo and Mike will investigate the security of several popular skateboards, including Boosted's flagship model and demonstrate several vulnerabilities that allow complete control of a an unmodified victim's skateboard, as well as other attacks on the firmware of the board and controller directly.
