Your host, Eric Dunavant, talks with the Author, Host of Bottleneck TV, and Owner of Bottleneck Distant Assistants, Jaime Jay. Jamie Jay discussed a topic close to his heart: the importance of nurturing generational abundance within families. He passionately believes that the actions we take within the walls of our homes have a more significant impact than any decision made in the corporate world. Jamie opened up about the hardships he faced, including experiencing homelessness twice during his childhood. These moments, marked by the loss of stability and security have shaped his outlook on life and the importance of family support. His mother's unwavering belief in him during those times was a beacon of hope, a theme that would echo later in his life with the support of his wife, Sarah. To learn more about Jaime's work, click HERE and HERE.Check out Jaime's book, Quit Repeating Yourself, HERE.If you'd like to be a guest on the Kingdom ROI: Return on Intention podcast, click HERE.

What if you could reduce turnover to 5% or less? My guest Jaime Jay has done that in his own company because he makes sure he hires the right people. Jaime is the founder and managing director of Bottleneck Distant Assistants. Since 2006 his company has been sourcing Distant Assistants from the Philippines. They support entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, C-level executives, founders, and other professionals who are doing the wrong things so they can focus on their best work instead.Jaime is a U.S. Army veteran and the author of the book, Quit Repeating Yourself. His life has been quite the adventure, and you'll be inspired by the values he's built into his company and that he and his team live by every day. You'll discover: How Jaime went from being homeless 3 times to running a successful multi-million dollar businessThe #1 question Jaime asks a candidate and why he does itThe 4 questions Jaime asks people on his team that prepare them to make sound decisionsThe one word Jaime's team is studying this year…and what they're doing to make it part of their cultureWhy Jaime likes to create a Ripple Effect
Jaime Jay is the founder and managing director of Bottleneck Distant Assistants. Jaime has been sourcing distant assistants (DA's) from the Philippines since 2006. It's time again for “FLEX OR FLOP??” And this week's company in the spotlight is… SONIC. Yeah. Sticking with slushies may be stupid (how's that for alliteration?). That's about the only thing I can think of with Sonic – their frozen beverages. Is that a good thing or bad? You tell me. But before we discuss Sonic, let's talk about my learnings from this week's guest episode with Jaime Jay. Jaime runs his business, Bottleneck Distant Assistants, in a fascinating way – he's never met a single member of his oversees team. Everyone is remote. He was doing remote business before it was cool. His team is spread out through Haiti, the Philippines, among other countries. The average age of his staff is 22! And better yet, he has his young staff members run meetings equally important as his more experienced team members. Yes, he has 19-year-olds running meetings. Jaime shares tactics for: Creating psychologically safe teams (SUPER important for Gen Z) Engaging team members in such a way they can be offered HIGHER pay somewhere else, and still choose to stay Helping entrepreneurs embrace the gig economy and leverage Distant Assistants I had a number of learnings from this episode that are applicable to companies of any size. You don't want to miss his wisdom. And if you haven't checked out his episode (or his book https://www.amazon.com/Quit-Repeating-Yourself-Processes-Business/dp/1636767400 (Quit Repeating Yourself)), you'll definitely want to do so. Flex of Flop: SONIC Edition!Sonic confuses me. They're kind of “Floxing” – they aren't doing great with Gen Z but I haven't thrown the towel in on them yet. On paper, they should be a highly attractive brand for nostalgic Gen Z'rs, but they're having trouble finding staff, and they've jumped on the bandwagon of social media too late. Their competitors are outpacing them on all accounts, yet their revenues spiked significantly during COVID due to the drive-in experience. On the episode: I test out features of Sonic's career website! And discover, well, it's trying to be something, but it's in a very rough place. We learn from Sonic's mistake in getting so far BEHIND the competition that they fail to keep up! I show you how to make small career website tweaks to improve your resonance with Gen Z. --- Don't forget to connect with me! Jaime was part of the elite 82nd Airborne Division and was trained as a paratrooper. You'll hear him recall how intense the training was to be part of such an elite organization and be battle-ready for when the country needs them. A good assistant is simply heaven-sent, a remote assistant moreso. A virtual assistant provides various services to entrepreneurs or businesses from a remote location. From digital marketing tasks, scheduling appointments and managing events to personal errands. You can make a virtual assistant do almost anything. Jamie Jay, the CEO and Founder of Bottleneck Distance Assistance believes that virtual assistants, or distant assistants, can make your life easier - you have more time to do the things you're great at while delegating the nitty-gritty tasks. In this episode of The New Nomad, Jamie joins our hosts, Andrew Jernigan and Allen Koski in discussing what a blessing a great distant assistant is to business owners. Our three nomads also tackled the things to consider when hiring one especially the cost and the skills as the ways in which a VA can help you and your business are as unique and diverse as the individual VAs are themselves. So if you are thinking of hiring one (or you already have one), this is an episode you don't ever want to miss.[5:53] The pandemic's effect on outsourcing remote assistance[8:11] Delegating tasks so you can lead with kindness[13:42] The shift from a an office cubicle to working on the go[17:49] Transactional relationship vs a long-term partnership[19:28] Thinking differently is essential to advancement[22:07] Why hiring assistance from other countries is a win-winJaime Jay is the founder and CEO of Bottleneck Distant Assistants.
