His widow, Anneliese, later wrote memoirs obsessing over social slights in London, displaying a detachment from the reality of the Holocaust. Conversely, in the "Ministries Trial," Lord Vansittart denied his connections to the German resistance, likely because admitting to these chaotic back-channel efforts was too uncomfortable for a Foreign Office that preferred the narrative of inevitable total war. Consequently, the Anglo-German Fellowship, despite having had government approval, was brushed under the carpet of history, its role in attempting to avert catastrophe largely forgotten. THE LEGACY OF THE AMATEUR SPIES Colleague Charles Spicer. Graham Christie and Philip Conwell-Evanscompiled a rare book titled None So Blind, printing only 100 copies to document their warnings to the Britishgovernment about the Nazi threat. Their efforts went largely unrecognized until historian Martin Gilbert began to correct the record, moving beyond the simplistic "Guilty Men" narrative to acknowledge that appeasement was a widely supported strategy at the time. The protagonists met modest ends: Ernest Tennant's memoir was overlooked, Conwell-Evans lived quietly in Notting Hill, and the heroic Christie died by suicide in his nineties, leaving behind only a small plaque in St. Paul's Cathedral. Happiness Solved with Sandee Sgarlata. In this episode, Sandee interviews Brian Conwell. Brian ‘BigCountry' Conwell is a disabled veteran who lost his legs on January 7th 2014 on Ft. Riley KS.  After being told by doctor's he would never walk again, Brian not only suffered from PTSD but severe depression, anxiety, and chronic pain from all the metal used to put his right leg back together. In October 2020 he taught his self how to walk and in February 2021 got back to the gym.  The VA invited him to compete in the 2021 national veterans wheelchair games. Brian fell in love with shot put discuss and powerlifting! Brian got his Paralympic license in all 3. In 2022 Brian won 4 gold's 1 being international, 3 SILVERS and 3 bronze. Brian is shooting to make Team USA for the 2028 paralympics in LA. Brian has started his own LLC called Big Country Athletics to help others with disabilities get into fitness and adaptive sports! In this episode, we're talking about accelerating evangelism through church planting. Erin Crider, Professor of Practical Theology and Director of Church Planting at Gordon-Conwell joins the podcast to discuss the seminary's church planting degree and her passion for educating and keeping the conversation going about the purpose and importance of planting churches in our communities. 

Dr. Erin Conwell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Coordinator for the PhD program in Visual and Cognitive Neuroscience at North Dakota State University. Erin studies how children aged 6 and younger learn about the structure of their native language. She is conducting studies to determine how they understand what we say to them and how they produce words, sentences, and phrases that are understandable to us. She also examines how children's understanding and representation of language changes over the course of their first 6 years of life. Erin spends her free time hanging out with her husband and daughter. As a researcher of childhood development, she has often found herself closely observing and celebrating the milestones of her own daughter's development. In addition, Erin is an avid reader who typically makes it through 80-100 books per year. Her other hobbies include knitting and curling. She received her undergraduate degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from MIT and her PhD in Cognitive and Linguistic Science from Brown University. Her dissertation research received the Peter W. Jusczyk Award. Afterward, Erin conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University. Erin is with us today to tell us about some of her experiences in life and science.
