In Zambia's Chipangali district, farmers are overcoming climate-induced agricultural challenges by forming listening groups to engage with radio broadcasts about nature-based solutions. Facilitated by local broadcasters and the Media Institute of Southern Africa, these cooperative, community-led efforts have successfully transformed agricultural practices and increased yields through shared knowledge and collective action. This episode is hosted by Ivy Prosper, produced by Claire Hutcheon, and edited by John McGill. This episode was produced by Farm Radio International, thanks to funding from the Government of Canada. The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has successfully facilitated the return of another group of Nigerian migrants evacuated from Libya. This latest group of 180 returnees, predominantly consisting of women and children, arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos via a chartered flight from Libya. As reported by the IOM, many of these individuals faced severe hardships, including detention, exploitation, and uncertainty during their attempts to migrate abroad. The agency further indicated that the returnees received health screenings, counselling, and other immediate assistance, with eligible individuals set to receive reintegration support aimed at helping them rebuild their lives.“The recent operation is part of a continuous partnership between the IOM, the Federal Government, and international collaborators to facilitate voluntary returns and encourage safer migration pathways,” the agency stated in its announcement. The IOM has reported rescuing over 65,500 stranded Nigerian migrants in the last nine years. During a migration reporting workshop held in Lagos, it was revealed that more than 30,000 returnees have also benefited from psychological, social, and economic support to aid in their reintegration.Nevertheless, the agency emphasized its commitment to enhancing efforts to promote safe and legal migration pathways, while calling for increased public awareness and responsible media coverage regarding migration issues.Concerned about the risks associated with irregular migration, the Federal Government issued a warning in May 2026, advising Nigerians against departing the country without valid travel documents.

New Money Making Conversations episodes drop daily. I want to alert you, so you don’t miss out on expert analysis and insider perspectives from my guests who provide tips that can help you uplift the community, improve your financial planning, motivation, or advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Ashley Christopher. Interview Summary: Ashley Christopher on Money Making Conversations Masterclass Guest: Ashley ChristopherHost: Rushion McDonaldPlatform: Money Making Conversations MasterclassFocus: HBCU access, scholarships, STEM pipeline, purpose-driven leadership Overall Summary Ashley Christopher shares the origin, growth, and impact of the HBCU Week Foundation, which she founded in 2017 to increase enrollment at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), remove financial barriers, and create direct pathways from high school to college and corporate America. What began as a local Wilmington, Delaware initiative evolved into a national movement that has facilitated over 10,000 on-the-spot HBCU acceptances and nearly $100 million in scholarships, including a landmark $40 million STEM scholarship partnership. The conversation blends entrepreneurship, education equity, resilience, faith, and purpose, highlighting how lived experience and authentic mission can scale social impact. Purpose of the Interview To spotlight the HBCU Week Foundation and its measurable outcomes (acceptances, scholarships, STEM investment). To educate families and students about on-the-spot college acceptance and scholarship opportunities. To inspire purpose-driven leadership, particularly among Black entrepreneurs and community leaders. To demonstrate how local solutions can scale nationally when rooted in authenticity and impact. To share a personal story of resilience, including surviving a stroke at age 29 and redefining purpose. Key Takeaways 1. Access Changes Outcomes HBCU Week’s on-the-spot acceptance model allows eligible students to receive immediate college decisions and scholarship offers at a live college fair. This removes prolonged uncertainty and barriers that often discourage first-generation and underserved students. Students bring their transcript, SAT/ACT scores, meet with an HBCU counselor, and can be accepted immediately. 2. HBCUs Are a Pipeline to Opportunity Ashley emphasizes that HBCUs are not just cultural institutions, but talent pipelines into corporate America, particularly for STEM fields. Enrollment growth and scholarship funding are as critical as brand awareness. 3. The Power of Strategic Partnerships A relationship that began with seven $40,000 STEM scholarships grew into a $40 million partnership with the American Chemistry Council. The goal: addressing a projected STEM workforce deficit while increasing diversity in the field. The partnership now supports 1,000 students committed to STEM majors at HBCUs, with nearly 600 awards already distributed. 4. Purpose Can Be Born From Crisis Ashley shares her experience of having a stroke at age 29, caused by birth control use, which required her to relearn how to write and regain physical mobility. The experience intensified her sense of urgency, discipline, and purpose. Surviving the stroke shifted her mindset from ambition to intentional impact. 5. Authentic Passion Fuels Scalable Impact Ashley never intended HBCU Week to become national—it was designed to serve students in her hometown. Growth occurred organically because the mission was authentic, focused, and student-centered. “When you love what you do and have a real passion behind the impact, it catches on.” Notable Quotes On Mission & Growth “The goal was to take care of the students in my hometown… I had no idea it would become national.” On On-the-Spot Acceptance “If you have the requisite GPA and SAT or ACT score, you can be admitted right there.” On HBCUs & STEM “If everybody around the table looks the same, we’re in trouble.” On Faith & Opportunity “I can’t take credit for it… but for my relationship with God, this wouldn’t be a thing.” On Purpose After Adversity “It created a different sense of drive and purpose in me.” On Impact “If I can’t help tier-one students, who can?” Conclusion The interview positions Ashley Christopher as a systems builder, not just a nonprofit founder. Her work demonstrates how education access, strategic partnerships, and lived experience can intersect to change thousands of lives. The conversation reinforces that scalable impact often starts with a local problem, clear values, and relentless execution. #BEST #STRAW #SHMSSteve Harvey Morning Show Online: http://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A systematic review into whether the “rapid prompting method” or “spelling to communicate” can help autistic people express themselves comes up empty yet again.
In this episode of the Red Eye Report, we dive deep into one of the most controversial and scientifically debunked practices in the world of disability care: Facilitated Communication (FC). Marketed as a miraculous breakthrough that gives a voice to the voiceless, FC involves an "aide" guiding the hand of a nonverbal person over a keyboard or letterboard. But what happens when the facilitator is actually the one doing the talking? We break down the devastating double-blind tests, the false accusations that have torn families apart, and the tragic consequences of treating pseudoscience as fact. Grab a drink and strap in. This rabbit hole gets dark.

If you've ever been handed a generic exercise plan for pain that's been with you for years — or felt like your provider was treating the injury you had once, not the body you're living in now — this episode gets into why that approach keeps falling short. Chronic pain isn't an acute problem with a delayed solution, and the science is finally catching up to what so many patients already knew.In this episode, you'll hear from Dr. Megan Steele, PT, DPT, PhD, physical therapist, faculty in the DPT program at Mount St. Mary's University, and PhD candidate researching how our visceral and musculoskeletal systems shape pain. Her reframe that "just believe differently" is the mental health equivalent of "just move differently" is one that will stick with you long after this episode ends.Connect with Destiny: Instagram / Facebook / Website______________________________
If you've ever been dismissed by a doctor, told your symptoms were stress or anxiety, or felt like the medical system wasn't built for people like you — this episode traces exactly how we got here. The history of "hysteria" didn't end; it evolved, and understanding that history might be one of the most validating things you do for yourself today. In this episode, you'll hear from Emily Mendenhall, medical anthropologist, Guggenheim Fellow, and author of Invisible Illness: A History from Hysteria to Long COVID. Her concept of structural silencing reframes medical dismissal not as individual doctors failing patients, but as a system operating exactly as it was designed.Connect with Destiny: Instagram / Facebook / Website______________________________
BARD annotation The Harvey girls DB132858 Author: Fay, Juliette Reading Time: 11 hours, 51 minutes Read by: Cassandra Campbell Subjects: Historical Fiction, General Fiction “1926: Charlotte Crowninshield was born into one of the finest Boston society families. Now she’s on the run from a brutal husband, desperate to disappear into the wilds of the Southwest. Billie MacTavish is the oldest of nine children born to Scottish immigrants in Nebraska. She quit school in the sixth grade to help with her mother’s washing and mending business, but even that isn’t enough to keep the family afloat. Desperate, both women join the ranks of the Harvey Girls, waitresses who serve in America’s first hospitality chain on the Santa Fe railroad. Hired on the same day, they share three things: a room, a heartfelt dislike of each other … and each has a secret that will certainly get them fired. Through twelve-hour days of training in Topeka, Kansas, they learn the fine art of service, perfecting their skills despite bouts of homesickness, fear of being discovered, and a run-in with the KKK. When they’re sent to work at the luxurious El Tovar hotel at the Grand Canyon, the challenges only grow, as Billie struggles to hide her young age from would-be suitors, and Charlotte discovers the little-known dark side of the national park’s history.” — From publisher. When your symptoms shift daily and no one, not even your doctor, can give you clear answers, the hypervigilance can feel like the only rational response. But what if that constant scanning is actually making your nervous system harder to calm, and there's a way to work with it instead of against it?In this episode, you'll hear from Dr. Amanda Whitehouse, licensed psychologist specializing in anxiety and trauma related to food allergies and mast cell conditions. She reframes nervous system regulation not as a reset button, but as a slow, trust-building process, and explains why that distinction matters more than most people realize.Connect with Destiny: Instagram / Facebook / Website______________________________

7. The Restoration and the Genius of Margaret Cavendish Guest Author: Jonathan Healey In 1660, after a period of political chaos, George Monck facilitated the return of Charles II, prioritizing national stability over the failed republican experiment. This "Restoration" reasserted the Anglican Church and Parliamentary control over finances, though the era was also marked by the grotesque posthumous execution of Cromwell's corpse. Healey highlights the intellectual vibrancy of the time through Margaret Cavendish, the Duchess of Newcastle. Her pioneering 1666 work, *The Blazing World*, blended science, power, and early feminism, creating a bizarre "science fiction" parable that challenged the male-dominated scientific luminaries of the Royal Society. Together, they explore what becomes possible when we loosen our grip on perfection and the pressure to hold it all together as recovery advocates, leaders, mothers, partners, and friends. They reflect on recovering out loud with honesty and courageous vulnerability as a pathway to healing, connection, and empowerment.Nadine shares her journey of entering recovery in her early twenties, navigating the expectations of being a visible voice in the recovery space, and the profound loss of her teenage son to overdose. They also offer a clear reminder that we do not have to wait to hit rock bottom to pursue recovery. Woven throughout the conversation are reflections from Nadine's book, Enough Already: A Journey from Hiding to Healing, along with an invitation to consider authenticity, community, and self-compassion as essential forms of recovery medicine. If you've ever felt like you were failing at being sick, like you weren't trying hard enough, being positive enough, or consistent enough, this episode is for you. What if the pressure to heal is actually part of what's making things harder? In this replay from episode 73, you'll hear from Grace Quantock, psychotherapeutic counsellor, advocate, and author of the newly released book, Reclaiming Wellness with Chronic Illness. She makes a compelling case that wellness culture's obsession with cure isn't just unhelpful, it's a system designed to blame us for our own suffering.______________________________
Identifying the Enneagram Type we lead with is often a journey of self-discovery. While online assessments can point us in the right direction, they are not precise instruments. A more reliable process for discovering and clarifying your Enneagram Type is the Enneagram Type Discovery Interview—often called a Typing Interview. Facilitated by a trained Enneagram teacher or practitioner, the Typing Interview creates space to explore your core motivations, fears, and internal biases at a deeper level than online tests. In this episode, I sit down with my good friend, Tom Wells, and guide him through the Typing Interview process. You'll get an inside look at what a Typing Interview is like and why it's so important to move beyond surface behaviors to uncover the motivations that drive our Enneagram Type. As you listen, you may gain fresh insight into the Enneagram Type you lead with—and perhaps decide that a Typing Interview would be a valuable next step in your own Enneagram journey. My sincere thanks to Tom for generously allowing us to witness his process. Tom and his wife are the owners of Wells Virtual Bookkeeping, LLC, a bookkeeping service supporting small businesses. Like a spear to the nation's liver, the third-world migrant invasion and exploitation of our beautiful United States—under the guidance and protection of the Progressive Fascist Democrat party desperately to continue Barack Obama's treasonous efforts to fundamentally transform America into an empty third-world husk of its former greatness—the reports of trillions of dollars of monetary fraud and hundreds of thousands of instances of voter fraud are the greatest existential threat to America as envisioned and established by our Founders as anything we have ever faced. In today's show I'll detail how this coordinated attack on our United States is nothing short of an act of war, that the actions of the Progressive Fascists in pursuing this demise of our nation is nothing short of spiritual, if not technical, treason, and how only the most aggressive actions by the Trump administration can hope to save our country from succumbing to this metastatic third-world tumor in our American body politic.
David Shedd critiques the bipartisan failure of allowing China into the World Trade Organization in 2001, which was based on the false assumption that economic engagement would lead to democratization. Instead, this decision facilitated a massive transfer of intellectual property, fueling China's rise as a predatory economic rival. 1940 EMPRESS DOWAGER CIXI
Coffee with Hitler: Lloyd George at the Berghof: Colleague Charles Spicer recounts the pivotal September 1936 meeting between David Lloyd George and Hitler at the Berghof, facilitated by Conwell-Evans, where Hitler was delighted to meet the "man who won the war"; Spicer argues that Lloyd George was not merely naive but attempting a strategic play to reopen the Locarno Treaty negotiations, and though the meeting was outwardly successful with Hitler behaving unpretentiously, he reacted with visceral hatred at the mention of Russia, leaving Lloyd George's subsequent praise of Hitler in the British press as a controversial legacy. 1933

Very Low Nicotine Content Cigarettes for Smoking Cessation: Examining a Facilitated Extinction Approach and Dosing Schedule Drug and Alcohol Dependence Very low nicotine cigarettes (VLNC, 0.4 mg nicotine/g tobacco) have been shown to reduce smoking behavior when compared to normal nicotine cigarettes (NNC,17 mg nicotine/g tobacco). Participants (n=208) were randomly assigned to 4 experimental groups, immediate versus gradual (over 5 weeks) transition to VLNC, and standard counseling versus facilitated extinction counseling (weekly for 5 weeks). Facilitated extinction had participants smoke only in relevant contexts (e.g., places, affects, triggers). The immediate nicotine reduction group reported less smoking satisfaction and lower completion rates (72% immediate reduction versus 88% gradual reduction, p=.02). Abstinence (biochemically verified) at 2 months post study was 29%. There were no significant differences between the 4 study groups. VLNC were beneficial in smoking cessation.
