Her products celebrate the land she loves, inspiring home cooks and bakers to create with care and intention. you'll discover how to choose the perfect product for your audience, along with the most effective strategies for manufacturing and selling it. Key points discussed include: - Identify your signature product: Look at your most popular recipes and consider creating a complementary product, like a spice blend or specialty ingredient, to offer your audience. - Test the market first: Start with a cottage license to validate your product idea and gather customer feedback before investing in a commercial license and scaling up. - Leverage your community: Use farmers markets, pop-ups, and local partnerships to test your product and build relationships with your target customers. - Prioritize quality and sourcing: Invest in high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients to create a premium product that reflects your brand's values. - Seek support from local resources: Reach out to your county health department and extension offices - they want to help you succeed as a small food manufacturer. - Control your distribution: Selling directly through your own online store gives you more control over pricing, branding, and the customer experience. - Have a long-term vision: Develop a 5-year plan for your product line and be patient as you build the business - it takes time to get the formula right. MusclePharm Pro Series Launch & Product Line Extension Creep | FitLife Brands 2024 Q3 Update

the Joshua Schall Audio Experience

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 15, 2024 13:31

It took only a year, but it seems MusclePharm has again become a victim of product line extension creep. For those unaware, the supplement brands that are within the FitLife Brands portfolio are now categorized in three segments: Legacy FitLife Brands, which is broken into two sub-segments…NDS Products (which are a collection of brands mostly sold in the GNC franchise system), iSatori Products (which are a collection of brands sold through a diversified retail mix), and then Mimi's Rock Corporation Products (which are a collection of brands mostly sold on Amazon), and MusclePharm. In total, the FitLife Brands portfolio is sold through more than 20,000 retail locations globally. In the third quarter of 2024, FitLife Brands Inc. (NASDAQ: FTLF) had revenues of $16 million…which was up 15% YoY. But though that YoY growth rate obviously looks strong, it's important to remember that those reported results were greatly impacted by the MusclePharm acquisition that closed in October 2023. While there's strategic initiatives going on at legacy FitLife Brands and Mimi's Rock, the most intriguing segment within FitLife Brands is also currently its smallest...MusclePharm. In the third quarter of 2024, MusclePharm segment revenue was $2.5 million. And if you were wondering about YoY comparatives, let's just say the Eric Hilman run MusclePharm bankrupt version outsold this current version. But that's probably an apples-to-oranges comparison because Eric Hillman was focused on survival by any means necessary, and FitLife Brands is attempting to make strategic business decisions that support and optimize long-term growth. But while the sales channel mix of MusclePharm is currently 50/50 wholesale and online…it's very likely the brand's biggest long-term opportunities will come from offline retail. FitLife Brands has been making progress with new wholesale partners…noting that it secured placement for MusclePharm's Combat Sport protein bars in several regional grocery and convenience chains. Moreover, FitLife Brands also announced that it would be launching a new advanced premium product line extension called MusclePharm Pro Series. The product lineup is said to currently consist of nine SKUs…and will be sold exclusively at The Vitamin Shoppe starting in the first quarter of next year. And here we go again! This has been a central theme within the MusclePharm story for much of the last decade…and what ultimately killed the sports nutrition brand. MusclePharm has chased off-brand trend after off-brand trend through line extensions…totally wrecking any semblance of what the brand stands for, and basically losing all emotional connection with consumers. Instead of supporting the brand/customer long-term, MusclePharm focused on pandering to retailer requests for this (or that) exclusive line extension. And while line extension creep at MusclePharm obviously started way before the acquisition, it's surprising that FitLife Brands didn't highlight that underlying driver of failure and learn from those past experiences. But all this shows me is that FitLife Brands still has no vision around MusclePharm. This will remove any dirt, product buildup, and dry or flaky skin that can cause a blockage that stunts hair growth. Keeping it clean will also open your pores and allow your beard to grow smoothly through the skin.Step 3—After your beard is clean, you want to add a non-pore-clogging beard moisturizer or oil. This will keep your hair and skin moist to prevent dryness, protect the hair from breakage, and prevent skin cracking. Doing this will also improve your hair and skin's texture. Step 4-Brushing or Combing your beard daily helps distribute the natural oils to moisturize, while stimulating blood flow that can improve beard growth because the more nutrients that are going to your beard follicles will return a healthier beard.Step 5-Maintain a nice curb appeal on your beard keeping your borders (top and bottom) clean and neat by using a trimmer or razor. Doing this will be a great foundation for that Stand Out Beard. #BEST #SHMS #STRAWSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dr. Bryan draws from decades of research and entrepreneurial experience to teach us about the transformative potential of nitric oxide. They discuss the critical role that nitric oxide plays in numerous bodily processes, ranging from cardiovascular performance to metabolic efficiency and cognitive health. They also discuss how aging and environmental toxicity cause natural nitric oxide production to drop off, and why it's essential for most people to use N.O. supplements to fully optimize their health and longevity. Tune in if you want to learn more about why nitric oxide is often regarded as the “holy grail of longevity” and how taking a step as simple as introducing an N.O. supplement to your routine can have significant and wide-ranging effects on your overall health and well-being.   "We're regenerative by nature. If we can harness the regenerative potential of our own stem cells, we can overcome the aging process." – Dr. Nathan Bryan SPECIAL OFFER: You can save 10% on all of Dr. Bryan's nitric oxide products from www.n101.com or www.no2u.com when you use code JAYC at checkout.   What You'll Learn From This Episode The Critical Role Nitric Oxide Plays In Our Body –  Learn about why nitric oxide is a crucial hormone in the body, responsible for various functions like opening blood vessels, improving oxygenation, and mobilizing stem cells for repair.  The Numerous Benefits Of Nitric Oxide Supplementation – Aging and environmental toxins decrease our natural N.O. production, so it's important to understand the wide-ranging benefits of nitric oxide supplementation. These include more efficient cardiovascular function, improved sexual performance, reduced inflammation, and enhanced athletic and cognitive performance. Engage to support our work.Devin: What is your superpower?Samreen: I truly think my superpower, Devin, is my ability to connect with people. In today's episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Samreen Arshad, the inspiring founder and CEO of SamreensVanity. Her story is a testament to resilience and the power of community in shaping successful ventures.SamreensVanity is a luxury cosmetic line dedicated to elevating South Asian representation within the beauty industry. Samreen identified a glaring white space: despite 2.1 billion South Asians worldwide, there wasn't a single cosmetic line aimed specifically at their inclusion. She saw this as an opportunity to create something transformative."Our brand is made for the community, and it's founded by the community," Samreen said. This philosophy guided her decision to launch a Wefunder campaign, choosing community-backed investment over traditional venture capital. She wanted her investors to feel a personal connection to the brand, ensuring that their contributions would lead to meaningful impact.Samreen's journey to founding SamreensVanity is as unique as it is inspiring. Despite facing postpartum depression and not having a background in makeup, she taught herself the craft at the age of 30. Her resilience shone through when she applied seven times for a job at a high-end retailer without success. This rejection fueled her determination to create a brand that represents minority women and immigrants like herself. With only nine SKUs, SamreensVanity has already made significant strides. Their innovative dual-ended lipsticks caught the attention of major retailers like QVC and Costco. Now, as part of the Tower 28 Incubator Program, Samreen is gearing up to pitch to top retailers and expand her brand's reach.Looking ahead, Samreen envisions SamreensVanity becoming an international brand, serving markets in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, where there is a growing demand for products that reflect their cultural values and needs.I am continually inspired by entrepreneurs like Samreen, who not only identify opportunities but also create solutions that empower and uplift their communities. SamreensVanity is not just a beauty brand; it's a movement towards greater inclusivity in the industry. In our conversation, Samreen's passion and dedication were palpable. Her vision for the future of SamreensVanity is bright, and I have no doubt that she will continue to break barriers and set new standards in the beauty industry.tl;dr:1. Introduction and Business Overview: Samreen Arshad, the CEO and founder of SamreensVanity, discusses the inception of her luxury cosmetics line aimed at elevating South Asian representation in the beauty industry. She recognized a market gap and launched her brand during the pandemic with initial products like eyeliners and dual-ended lipsticks.2. Product Line and Strategy: Samreen explains that her brand currently offers nine SKUs, including innovative products like dual-ended lipsticks. Starting with eyeliners to test market needs, her strategy has been to grow slowly and steadily rather than flooding the market with products. This approach has led to partnerships with QVC and potential opportunities with Costco and Shark Tank.3. Incubator Program: Samreen is participating in the Tower 28 incubator program, which is a ten-week initiative founded by Amy Liu. The program includes classes led by industry leaders, and it concludes with the opportunity to pitch to major retailers like Sephora and Ulta.4. Vision and Growth Plans: Samreen envisions international expansion for SamreensVanity, citing interest from regions like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. She emphasizes that her brand, which has a strong customer base and minimal returns, is poised for significant growth once it ramps up marketing efforts.5. Wefunder Campaign and Investor Relations: To support the community-driven ethos of her brand, Samreen opted for a crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder where individuals can invest. She highlights the backing of Backstage Capital, founded by Arlan Hamilton, and encourages potential investors to participate, emphasizing the collective potential for significant returns. How to Develop Connecting with People As a SuperpowerSamreen's superpower is her exceptional ability to connect with people. This natural talent allows her to build genuine relationships, fostering trust and collaboration that drive her success as an entrepreneur and influencer.Samreen exemplified her superpower when she connected with Arlan Hamilton, the founder of Backstage Capital. Without any immediate intention to seek investment, Samreen genuinely engaged with Arlan, showing interest in her work and attending her events. This authentic connection led to Arlan eventually offering to back Samreen's fundraising efforts, illustrating the profound impact of building sincere relationships.Actionable Tips for Developing this Superpower:* Be Genuinely Interested in Others: Focus on learning about people rather than trying to impress them. Show genuine curiosity about their stories and experiences.* Be Open and Vulnerable: Don't be afraid to share your own strengths and weaknesses. Openness and honesty foster deeper connections.* Voice Your Admiration: When you're impressed by someone, let them know. Acknowledging others' achievements builds rapport.* Start Building Relationships Early: Don't wait until you need something to start connecting. Build relationships well in advance of when you might need support.By following Samreen Arshad's example and advice, you can make connecting with people a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world.Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses.
