We're chatting with Jada Edwards on the podcast today! Jada is the Creative Arts Director at One Community Church, which she calls her first baby. She is also the mother of 2 adopted kids, Joah and Chloe. She loves Jesus, the church, teaching, motherhood and wants MORE time alone to just think. She's a creative who loves the opportunity to dream. Jada also shares the difference between soul care and self care. Soul care is feeding on God's word and feeling satisfied. True restoration comes from time with God. Jada is currently teaching on the importance of the church. She reminds us that Jesus is the head of the church and established it for a purpose. We gather together at our Father's house where we find community and fellowship with other believers. This is what the first church did and we should follow their example. Jada is so relatable and funny. Her practical wisdom will bless you as you listen! Mentions: Jada's powerful one-liners! "Privacy Please!" Try using this in your house when you need time in the bathroom without little fingers poking under the door."Table for One" Try stepping away for a late night date with yourself at a local coffee shop or restaurant. Time to think, time to meet with Jesus and the bonus is you'll agree with yourself on what to order!"Not optional" We make priority for the things are not optional, like feeding our children. Gathering with believers is not optional. Truth: Acts 2:43, "A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved."Ephesians 3:10, "His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms."Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up," Join us at The Mom Event! HOW SWEET THE SOUND - BEHIND THE MUSIC

The Beginning Born and raised in Anderson, SC, Shawn has been a renowned vocalist for years.  At the age of 20, he heard God’s call of being a worship leader and joined Mount Zion Baptist Church in Belton, SC to serve under Pastor Kenneth Dean. Along with the training of his Minister of Music, Brandon Groves, and the Director of the  Anderson University Ensemble, Mr. Leonard Johnson, Shawn began to experience worship at a new level and gained a greater understanding of God and His purpose for our lives. Throughout the years, Shawn’s ministry has thrived making room for him to share his musical gift all over the country including London and Japan.   The Artist Shawn released his first EP #TheSetList Volume 1 in 2014 which is an amazing collection of praise and worship music used by ministries in churches across the globe. The widely acclaimed project entered in at number 27 on the Billboard charts in its first week which for an independent artist without record label representation was rare.   Shawn’s anointed vocal and song writing gift creates worship ballads that conceives an atmosphere of freedom to worship. Shawn has been featured both vocally and as a songwriter on several national recording projects such as the hit single “Walking in Favor” featuring Pastor John P. Kee and Zarcardi Cortez. Other major projects include the Anderson University Ensemble’s Live recording “Thank You”, Earnest Pugh’s “Earnestly Yours”, Pastor David Wright & the New York Fellowship Choir “Next Generation”, Hart Ramsey & the NCC Family Choir “True Story” Project & Jason Nelson "Never Go A Day". Kee. He toured extensively with Pastor Kee and New Life across the United States and the Country. Currently Shawn is serving as the Creative Arts Director at Right Direction Church International in Columbia, SC under the leadership of Drs. Herbert and Marcia Bailey. It is here that he not only leads worship but has the privilege of mentoring and training rising worship leaders.   The Teacher & Clinician Shawn is a dynamic teacher and clinician on praise and worship. He conducts various workshops and clinics all over assisting ministries and worship leaders in the area of worship and vocal techniques. His teaching encompasses various layers that enhances and fosters the tools necessary to build leaders and music ministries after God’s own heart.   The Worshiper Shawn Bigby has a heart and passion for praise and worship and desires for others to experience God through worship at a higher level. His indescribable and untainted flow initiates and connects the worshipper to a meaningful encounter with God. Through an engaging and demonstrative worship experience led by Shawn, the worshipper is able to embrace the full raw presence of God.   The Husband & Family Man Shawn is happily married to his best friend Caress Bigby. (00:00-40:05): We are fortunate to be joined by two Community Christian Leaders today, the first being the Creative Arts Director, Eric Bramlett. Eric shares his story on how he was initially brought into the creative arts world, and how it turned into his ministry. He understands the healthy balance of creativity and leading the church, and shares his methods in maintaining that balance. Eric co-wrote a book with Dave and Jon Ferguson called “The Big Idea: Aligning the Ministries of Your Church through Creative Collaboration”. The book can energize a church staff and bring alignment and focus to many diverse church ministries. This book shows how the Big Idea has helped Community Christian Church better accomplish the Jesus mission and reach thousands of people in nine locations and launch a church planting network with partner churches across the country. http://bigidearesources.com/ (41:09-1:18:32): Closing out the hour is one of Ian’s “favorite thinkers”, Jon Hughes. Jon serves as the Adult Ministries Director for Community and a catalyst for the adult ministries. He starts off by talking about the role of doubt at Community. There is a stigma behind doubt and Jon advocates and welcomes it as part of the journey for people in the faith. It is important to have discussions and ask questions. Jon is also a part of Alpha. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, which allows questions to be asked. He says these courses allow people to articulate doubts, convictions, and simply ask questions.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
