Redeemed Series Part 3: Redeemed from Poverty This final message in the Redeemed series focuses on a powerful and often misunderstood truth: We have been redeemed from poverty and made to thrive in Christ. From the beginning, God's design for His people was not lack, struggle, or barely getting by. In the Garden, there was provision, abundance, and everything Adam and Eve needed. Poverty, like sickness and spiritual death, entered as a result of the fall and the curse of sin. But through Jesus, redemption does not stop at forgiveness or even healing, it restores us back to a life of provision, purpose, and flourishing. Psalm 1 paints the picture of what a redeemed life looks like: a person planted, steady, fruitful, and sustained. Not dry, not lacking, but thriving like a tree by living water. This is not just about material wealth, it's about a blessed life…one marked by stability, provision, fruitfulness, and impact. Redemption calls us out of a poverty mindset and into a Kingdom mindset where God is our source, and we are positioned to both receive and release His provision. What Redemption Does in Us 1. We're Positioned to Live a Blessed Life The life of blessing begins with pursuing holiness and alignment with God. Psalm 1 shows that when we walk with God and not with the patterns of the world, our lives become rooted and established. Blessing is not random, it is connected to relationship and obedience. 2. We're Rooted in God's Word Meditating on the Word day and night transforms how we think, live, and expect. Joshua 1 reminds us that true prosperity and success come from knowing and doing God's Word. As we renew our minds, we shift from scarcity thinking to trusting God as our provider in every area. 3. We're Called to Be Fruitful and Productive A redeemed life produces. Like the tree in Psalm 1, we are created to bear fruit in every season. This means using what God has given us, being faithful, working diligently, and stewarding opportunities well. God increases what is used, not what is buried. 4. We're Empowered to Live Generously Generosity is a key mark of a redeemed life. 2 Corinthians 9 reveals that God provides so that we can abound in every good work. We are not blessed just to hold onto it, but to release it. Giving breaks the grip of greed and positions us to trust God as our source. We are blessed to be a blessing. The Heart of the Message is this…redemption restores us to a life of thriving, not just surviving. Through Christ, we are no longer bound to lack, fear, or a poverty mindset. God invites us into a life where we trust Him, walk in obedience, produce fruit, and live with open hands. Because of that: Lack does not define your life God is your source and provider You are called to produce and prosper You are blessed so you can be a blessing Redemption isn't just about getting by…it's about living in God's provision and purpose. You weren't just saved…you were made to thrive.

Are you truly growing in the knowledge of God, or do you only know about Him? In this Words From The Word daily devotion, Pastor Roderick Webster opens Colossians 1:9-12 (KJV) and walks us through the Apostle Paul's powerful prayer for the believers at Colosse — a prayer that asked for no material things, only that they would know God more deeply, walk worthy of Him, and bear fruit in every good work. You might be asking — what does it mean to walk worthy of the Lord? Why does Paul pray for patience and long suffering with joyfulness? Is there a difference between knowing about God and actually knowing God? How do I grow in the knowledge of God daily?Key points from this devotion:- Paul prayed that believers would be filled with wisdom and spiritual understanding- Walking worthy means our conduct and lifestyle should be pleasing to God- Being fruitful in every good work is part of God's desire for every believer- Increasing in the knowledge of God requires reading, studying, and accepting His Word- Knowing God personally is salvation — knowing Him fully is the journey of a lifetimeIf this devotion encouraged you today, please like, comment, and share it with someone who needs a word. God is actively shaping you through both the highs and the lows, and learning to reflect on those moments can unlock clarity, healing, and direction for your future. You'll discover how your experiences form your beliefs, how your beliefs drive your decisions, and how that cycle shapes your life outcomes. More importantly, you'll learn how to break unhealthy patterns and align your life with God's truth and perspective. This session introduces a practical tool—mapping your life through “significant emotional events”—to help you:Recognize how God has been at work in your story Identify key moments that shaped your identity and responses Process both positive and painful experiences with God Develop deeper self-awareness and spiritual discernment Stay “up to date” emotionally and spiritually—no longer ambushed by unprocessed pain or false beliefs As you reflect with God, your history becomes more than memories—it becomes wisdom, testimony, and a personal language with Him.This is how you get clear… so you can move forward with focus and fruitfulness.Next Steps: Take time to map your life. Identify key emotional moments. Invite God into those memories—and let Him give you His perspective.Your past is not wasted. Understanding the Stages of Life, Faith, and CallingIn this teaching, Coach Tom walks through a powerful framework for understanding the seasons of life and spiritual development.Drawing from the work of Richard Rohr and leadership researcher Bobby Clinton, he explains how God often shapes a person's life through several distinct phases—from building and identity formation, through seasons of transition, and eventually into wisdom and legacy.Coach Tom explores:• The Heroic Journey (roughly ages 20–40) — building life, identity, and direction• The Transition Years (40–55) — where humility, surrender, and deeper formation become essential• The Wisdom Journey (55+) — learning to live a released life that blesses othersHe also introduces Bobby Clinton's six stages of leadership and faith development, showing how God intentionally shapes our lives through:1. Sovereign Beginnings2. Spiritual Formation3. Gift Discovery & Development4. Life Maturation5. Convergence6. LegacyOne of the most striking insights: only about 20% of believers reach the “convergence zone.”This is the place where a person's gifts, calling, experiences, and spiritual maturity come together in what Coach Tom calls “Kingdom flow.”This teaching will help you:• Understand where you are in your life journey• Recognize how God uses transition and hardship for growth• Avoid becoming “bitter” or “stuck” during mid-life transitions• Move toward a life of wisdom, humility, and greater Kingdom impactIf you are in a season of transition, searching for clarity about your calling, or wondering how God is shaping your life story—this conversation will give you perspective and hope.__________________________You can connect with Coach Tom at:https://greaterformation.com/Email: Tom@GreaterFormation.com P.S. ... What happens when a “conservative Bible college kid” becomes a Spirit-filled father-hearted leader… after walking through heartbreak, foster care adoption, trauma, near-death burnout, and a personal encounter with Jesus? In this episode of Greater Formation & Power, Coach Tom sits down with Devin Schubert (aka “the man in orange”) for a raw, hope-filled conversation about:·       Devin's journey from Midwestern Christian roots and rebellion → to ministry and a deeper “yes” to God·       15 years in child welfare, building foster-care support through local churches, and what the Church often misses about caring for families in crisis·       Parenting through severe trauma and mental health challenges — and how chronic stress nearly took his life·       A powerful encounter with Jesus… and why Devin's healing came through a process, not just an instant moment·       The maturity shift: don't chase signs and wonders — chase the Father·       What to do when God feels silent: learning to “find Him in everything,” not just listen for a voice·       Why naming your struggle isn't “negative confession” — it's often the first step to surrender and freedom·       Devin's burden: releasing the Father's love in a way that brings healing, deliverance, and deep safety·       A Nehemiah-style framework for calling: fasting/praying for the plan, then bringing it to the King for favor and protection·       Devin's mission: helping a million people share their stories across media — because your story is part of your purposeDevin closes by praying a tender, powerful prayer for healing — especially for those carrying pain connected to fathers or father-figures. Don't rush off at the end. Sit with it. Receive............................Devin is founder of influence academy where he helps Christian Coaches and speakers grow their influence the way Jesus did. Have you ever considered that some of the beliefs shaping your life… aren't actually true? Most of us didn't choose “lies” on purpose. They formed slowly—through words spoken over us, painful experiences, and moments when we were just trying to make sense of life. But those beliefs don't just affect how we think… they shape how we live.In this podcast, I'll help you:Recognize the lies you may be believing about yourself, God, others, and lifeSee two primary ways lies get exposed (God's revelation + people's truth)Learn a simple pathway to overturn them: humility, teachability, God's perspective, honest friendships, and wise mentorsBecause the good news is real: the lies you learned can be unlearned.Fruitfulness follows clarity—and clarity begins when truth replaces false agreements.Reflection questions:What false perspective is God addressing in you right now? What are you doing to respond to it?Who have you invited to speak truth into your life? What might God be surfacing “under the surface” that needs action?__________________________You can connect with Coach Tom at:https://greaterformation.com/Email: Tom@GreaterFormation.com P.S. ... Be Fruitful and Multiply: Embracing Multiplication in Business In the whirlwind of daily tasks and business responsibilities, it's easy to feel like you're constantly running in circles. The endless to-do lists and the mounting expectations can lead to feelings of burnout and frustration. However, by embracing the concept of multiplication based on God's message to be fruitful and multiply, you can alter your mindset, apply strategic thinking, and transform your business approach. Shifting Your Business Process Embracing God's plan means you must first lay down your plans. Many women have become masters of addition and are good at getting things done and checking off their to-do lists. However, this often also leads to burnout and frustration because they do not see the return of all their efforts. Shifting from being masters of addition to kingdom multipliers will help you implement God's purpose. The Power of a Renewed Mindset Learning to be fruitful and multiply begins with an open mindset based on Scripture. We've been programmed to do more, and many of us fall into this trap. For example: Lone Cowboy Tract: This is the thought that you need to make something of yourself. It keeps us isolated and small. Anything multiplied by 1 is still small. The Idea of Lack: When you get in the mindset of I just don't have enough ______ or If I only had ____. When you enter this mindset, you bring negatives into the equation; multiplying by a negative equals a negative. Many scripture verses tell us to change our mindset. It is an active process to renew our mindset in Christ and change our thoughts to believe that God is on our side. Community: The Heart of Multiplication Learning to be fruitful and multiply in business involves more than just strategic moves; it's about building strong, genuine relationships with others. Working together with other like-minded individuals not only amplifies your influence but also fosters mutual support and innovation. This community-first approach reflects a relational model where deep connections lead to exponential growth, much like how early successful movements have spread despite limited technology. Be Fruitful and Multiply - The Call to Disciple Others   Introduction: In Genesis 1:28, God commands Adam and Eve to "Be fruitful and multiply." This command is often associated with the physical act of bearing children, but it also carries a deeper spiritual meaning that can be applied to the calling of discipleship. As followers of Christ, we are called to make disciples, multiplying the faith in the lives of others. Just as a tree produces fruit that contains seeds to grow new trees, so should our lives bear fruit that plants seeds of faith in others. Scripture Foundation: * Genesis 1:28: "God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.'" * Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." * John 15:8: "By this, my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples."   1. The Call to Reproduce Spiritually In the same way, God's creation mandate called for the multiplication of people, Jesus' Great Commission calls for the multiplication of disciples. Our spiritual fruit—our character, faith, and love for God—must lead others to faith in Christ. Every believer is tasked with reproducing their spiritual life in others through discipleship.   Application: * Invest time in others—be intentional in forming relationships where spiritual growth can take place. * Look for opportunities to share your faith and invite others into a journey with Christ.   2. Discipleship as Cultivation Discipleship, like cultivating a fruitful garden, requires nurturing, time, and attention. As a farmer who tends the soil, waters the seeds, and patiently waits for growth, we must commit to helping others grow in their walk with God. True discipleship is not just about conversions but about fostering spiritual maturity.   Application: * Mentor others by spending time with them in scripture, prayer, and life application. * Encourage those you disciple to remain rooted in Christ (John 15:5).   3. Multiplication Requires Sacrifice Fruitfulness in discipleship often requires personal sacrifice. As Jesus modeled in His relationship with the twelve disciples, there is a need for selfless investment in others. This may mean giving up time, energy, and resources to walk alongside others as they grow in their faith.   Application: * Embrace a service mindset, knowing your sacrifice leads to eternal rewards. * Prioritize discipling relationships, understanding their long-term impact on the kingdom of God.   4. Empowering Others to Multiply The ultimate goal of discipleship is to create disciples who will go on to disciple others. This is how spiritual multiplication happens. We are not only to make followers of Christ but also to equip them to lead others. The fruit of our discipleship is only complete once it reproduces itself in others.   Application: * Encourage those you disciple to disciple others. * Teach practical ways to share their faith and build up others in their spiritual journey.   Conclusion: "Be fruitful and multiply" is a charge to believers to participate in multiplying God's kingdom through intentional discipleship. As we bear spiritual fruit, we plant seeds in others that, by God's grace, will grow into new followers of Christ, who, in turn, will disciple others. This is how the gospel spreads, how faith communities are built, and how the world is transformed for God's glory. -- Praise Tabernacle Dr. Joshua Kennedy,  Pastor 2235 Ocean Heights  Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234 pastorjosh@praisetabernacle.com praisetabernacle.church  (609) 927-4560(w), (609) 402-8869(c)
