In this episode Pastor Jonathan Mack and I discuss the importance of incorporating your values while developing or repositioning your brand.

We all go through insecure moments and late last year I went through an insecure moment that was lasting longer than I wanted. I now realize it was tied to my identity. In this episode I share what I learned about identity and why having your identity wrapped around the right thing is critical. I touch on what God used to get me out of my insecure moment and I also go through practical ways to keep your identity wrapped around the right thing so you can have less insecure moments.

I don't know about you but it seems like being transparent is the in thing and being vulnerable is closely tied to it but is it necessary? Do we need to be transparent or vulnerable to have a powerful ministry? This week I sit down with recording artist and Pastor, James Powell. We give our definitions of transparency and vulnerability, go into some real world testimonies about being transparent and discuss how to make the right decision when choosing what to share and what not to share. After listening to this episode you will have a better understanding of how to go about including transparency and vulnerability to impact more lives.

Alson Levere Farley Jr. was born in Harlem, New York, and is a musician, singer, producer, teacher, and speaker. From an early age, Alson found himself drawn to anything musical. He owes his affinity for music to his mother, who planted that seed in him. She would take him to see the New York philharmonic every week, and it is through that exposure his love for music was born. Alson, grew up on 126th street in Harlem, NY., where he lived next door to a church. Alson currently has two singles out - "He Chose Me" and "I'm Healed" and despite being an independent artist, his songs have reached 25 countries. McPhaull.  Pastor McPhaull has been engaged in pastoral ministries for the last 36 years and has been a foundational person in my walk with God.  Prior to ministry he served as a medic in the United States Air Force and is a Vietnam Veteran.  Next came a career in broadcasting, with stints at 1580 KDAY and KGFJ in Los Angeles, and WOL, in Washington, D.C.   Later, D. L. McPhaull became the director of Promotions and Marketing for the Black Music Division of Capitol/E.M.I. Records in Hollywood.   He's a graduate of the Don Martin School of Radio and Television; Oakwood University where he earned a bachelor's degree with double majors in theology and communications; and Loma Linda University where he earned a master's degree in Social Work.  He has also written regularly for Message Magazine.  And he has recently published his first book, “Never Shake Hands With a White Woman.”  Behind the provocative title is his chilling testimony of being delivered by God's grace from a near fatal freebase cocaine overdose. He is a film composer, record producer, audio engineer, with a background in Caribbean/Jazz, Gospel, Contemporary Christian and Classical music. Michael Gayle is a graduate of Adelphi University, College of Arts and Sciences, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music. He also holds two master's degrees. At New York University he earned his master's in Music Theory and Composition; and from Columbia University, a Master's in Music Education. Michael is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Columbia University where his studies merge the disciplines of music and neuroscience. He currently holds positions as an Instructor at Columbia and Adjunct assistant Professor at St. John's University. Michael runs his own companies Michael S. Gayle Media Inc. and Gayle Musical Instruments. He is a loving husband and father of four. Michael's profound love for music is evident in each note he plays and any instrument, and his dedication to sharing this love with his students and audiences at large will ensure his musical and educational longevity for years to come. Smith, Sandy Patti, Michael Jackson, Patti Austin, Dolly Parton, Michael McDonald, Kelly Price and countless others. After distinguishing himself as one of the top supporting vocalists in the music industry, he launch his solo career. Duawne's captivating tenor voice earned him the opportunity to sing “We Shall Overcome” at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Dedication. Duawne also sang the finale at Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy's 77th Birthday Celebration, and he was the first and only man to sing for the Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards. Prior to Jeff's current position as the communication director, he was the spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Office, where he handled hundreds of media cases including the arrest and trial of Casey Anthony, the death of drum major Robert Champion, and Lane Graves the 2 year old killed by an alligator on a tourist hotel beach. Prior to his government service, Jeff worked as a broadcast journalist for affiliates of NBC, FOX, CBS and the New York Times. During that time he won multiple journalism awards. He also spent a number of years on the staff of G.Q. Magazine. He is the author of the book, “Feeling Tall Eight Short Lessons on Courage and Change, has written numerous articles for national magazines, and is the recipient of the FBI Trilogy Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement Leadership.
