Today's episode features guest host Michael Upshall (guest editor, Charleston Briefings) who talks with Stevan Harnad, Professor of Cognitive Science, University of South Hampton. Stevan is one of the most prominent advocates for open access and a distinguished scholar in cognitive science. In 1978, he founded the journal Behavioral and Brain Sciences which pioneered "open peer commentary", a form of public discussion on published content. In this conversation, Stevan looks back on over 50 years of campaigning for, and implementing tools for, open access.  Stevan invented a term for internet-based discourse, which he called "scholarly skywriting" in 1987. But, his most famous intervention was the 1994 "Subversive Proposal", the call for peer-reviewed papers to be made openly available on the Internet so that everyone could access them – which became green Open Access. He also talks about why in 2026, the mechanism set up in the early 2000s still has not delivered what he had hoped for.  Lastly, Stevan talks about GenAI tools and says he is very positive about their ability to "brainstorm." Gálatas 3:26-4:7¿Estás intentando ganarte el favor de Dios con tus obras? Pablo confronta esta mentalidad de siervo mostrando que, por la fe, somos hijos y herederos (Gálatas 3:26-29). En el momento perfecto, Dios envió a su Hijo para darnos el estado legal de la adopción, y luego envió a su Espíritu a nuestros corazones para darnos la experiencia personal de ser hijos, el cual clama "¡Abba, Padre!" Este mensaje te revela cómo dejar de vivir con la culpa del esclavo o la arrogancia del hijo mayor y, en su lugar, experimentar la libertad, seguridad e intimidad de una relación de "Papi" que solo el Espíritu nos permite tener, basada no en tu esfuerzo, sino en la obra completa de Jesús.

En Gálatas 3:1-6, Pablo confronta a una iglesia engañada por un evangelio falso: Jesús + ley.Pero el verdadero evangelio es claro: somos justificados y santificados por fe, no por esfuerzo humano.

Sagovornici su kroz razgovor otvorili i pitanje da li su studenti, u trenutku kada su stekli određenu političku moć, zakazali u artikulaciji ciljeva? „Izašla sam s tom tezom da je 15. marta moralo da se izađe sa političkim zahtavima. Da li prolongiranje, pravljenje izborne liste, čekanje da Vučić raspiše izbore i ostalo, u stvari, šteti univerzitetu.“ „Izgubili smo nekoliko važnih trenutaka. Jedan trenutak je bio da se u februaru u Kragujevcu ili u Nišu kaže ta čuvena rečenica – vlast neće ispuniti zahteve. Da je 15. marta neko rekao ‘izbori', imali bismo možda drugačiju istoriju“, odgovara Filipović. Kako društveni protest prerasta u politički subjekt, organizacioni modeli koji su nekada služili kao zaštita sada možda postaju ograničenje. Složena struktura plenuma, koja je na početku bila štit od manipulacije i podela, Filipović smatra da sada teže odgovara na izazove trenutka. „Na početku je bila mala moć i mala odgovornost. Sad je velika moć – pa je i odgovornost veća. Plenumi su pomogli da se kolektivno zaštite, da se protest proširi. Ali danas, kad treba donositi brze odluke, da li je model od 10 stepenika odlučivanja najbolji? Ja sam više za direktnu komunikaciju, ono što zovem normalan razgovor, ovako kako ti i ja sada razmenjujemo stavove“, napominje reditelj. Na pitanje domaćina Radar Foruma, da li bi glasao za studentsku listu na kojoj bi se našao i Emir Kusturica, Filipović izvlači suštinu zajedničke borbe protiv režima – da svi unutar nje moraju da „progutaju razne žabe“ zarad višeg cilja. „Niko od nas neće dobiti ono što hoće i to je poenta. Studenti su tu uradili veliku stvar – pomogli su nam da stavimo razlike u drugi plan. Posle ćemo, kad vratimo državu, da se prepiremo o razlikama.“

In seinem jüngsten Buch "Die Kichererbsen der Señora Dolores" philosophiert er über das Essen, darüber, dass Erinnerungen durch einen bestimmten Geschmack wachgerufen werden können, dass Liebe durch den Magen gehen kann und dass Kochen und Essen eben auch Menschen miteinander verbinden kann.
