Only a few weeks of evidence is available, but what a stretch for the Royals' rotation. With Carlos Hernandez and Daniel Lynch leading the way, they've won seven of eight and their starters are 5-0 in that run. On this episode of our daily SportsBeat KC podcast, which originated as SportsBeat Live stream Tuesday morning, beat writer Lynn Worthy and columnists Sam Mellinger and Vahe Gregorian project what this means for the future. And, speaking of next season, where will Nicky Lopez, Whit Merrifield, Adalberto Mondesi and Bobby Witt Jr. find themselves on the diamond in 2022? Plenty of flexibility there. Finally, Salvador Perez is having a career year when it seems his trajectory should be headed in a different direction.    An NCAA spokesperson says the investigation into KU basketball and football is "finished or very close" after dragging out for years.  The NCAA has now changed the rules for the outside investigating groups to speed up the process going forward.  The reason, the outside group has authority to find additional violations and that takes time.  And apparently that's what they've been trying to do to KU.    Daniel Lynch is on fire for the Royals as he grounds the Astros with 7 brilliant innings.  He's got a 2.35 over his last five starts and it looks great.  But haven't most of the Royals pitchers been here before and fizzled out?    Stephen A. Smith of ESPN has egg on his face now that Tim Tebow is gone from the Jaguars.  Smith said he was playing tight end only because he's white.  Now,  Smith says it's about a lack of opportunity for black athletes, as the comprise 71% of all players in the league.  When will this stop?    And, not kidding, Joe Biden wants to talk about booster shots, masks and food stamps while we have at least 10,000 Americans behind Taliban lines in Afghanistan.  He proves every single day how unserious he is at doing his job.

Locked On Yankees - Daily Podcast On The New York Yankees

On today's episode of Locked On Yankees, Stacey discusses Monday's wild game in Kansas City, previews tonight's matchup and wonders who to pull for, the Rays or the Sox. The game in Kansas City was weird and not for good reasons but Stacey believes if this game had taken place in the first half, the Yankees would have lost it. This is a different team in the second half for many reasons and they're fighting against a lot of factors (injuries, COVID, etc) to play as well as they have been playing since July 4. Stacey also previews Tuesday's matchup between Nestor Cortes and Daniel Lynch and wonders who to root for: The Rays or the Sox? Spoiler alert: It's the meteor. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The Royals have 1 win in their last 10 games and it's officially out of control during this losing streak. This weekend was particularly brutal for this ball club. The Royals might regret moving Jakob Junis to the bullpen when he was holding things down as a starter and he's been brutal in the pen. Will this team be above .500 again this season? We discussed a little more in depth the latest Brad Keller start and the disastrous Daniel Lynch start on Saturday.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
