Juliette: An accomplished Author, Speaker, DEI Strategist, and member of the Forbes Coaches Council, challenges the common notion of "your network is your net worth" and tells you why quality trumps quantity. She also shares real-life examples, and thought-provoking questions to help you rethink your entire networking strategy.Learn how you can begin building relationships that matter both externally and internally. Be sure to apply Juliette's actionable advice, such as nurturing internal relationships, focusing on the quality of your network over quantity, and strategically planning your networking efforts to advance your career. Highlights:01:10 - "Often what is overlooked is your internal network, and really spending the time to cultivate those internal relationships that can help increase your effectiveness and better position you for success."02:45 - "Your network is your net worth; I don't think that's 100% true. You can have a huge network, but what's more important is the quality of your network and how it aligns with what you're trying to accomplish."03:40 - "Strategic networking is networking with a plan. It's deliberate, intentional, and focused on relationships that matter to your goals."06:20 - "When it comes to career advancement, your internal network is extremely important...most people get promoted because they have done their work on the relationship part."09:45 - "I'm an introvert, and for me, networking takes a lot of energy...The reason I focus on strategic networking is because I can be more thoughtful and deliberate about how I use my time and energy."13:30 - "Yes, you do need a written plan for networking. People who write down their plans and revisit them regularly have a higher likelihood of achieving what they want."16:10 - “Who in the organization is a champion of mine? Who are my allies, mentors, sponsors?" Contact Juliette MayersLinkedInWebsiteJuliette's BooksInspiration Zone Newsletter Sign-UpEmail for Feedback: info@inspirationzoneLLC.com

In recent years, there has been an increased effort to expand diversity and representation in space exploration. History was made when Keisha Schahaff and her daughter Anastatia Mayers became the first Caribbean women to travel to space. Schahaff, originally from the island nation of Antigua and Barbuda, won a coveted seat on a Virgin Galactic spaceflight through a fundraising competition organized by Space for Humanity. She chose to bring her 18-year-old daughter Anastatia, who is currently studying philosophy and physics at Aberdeen University in the UK. The mother-daughter pair blasted off on an epic journey to the edge of space aboard Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo Unity. During several minutes of weightlessness, they marveled at breathtaking views of Earth against the blackness of space. Their groundbreaking flight inspired people across the Caribbean and proved that the dream of space travel is attainable for women from diverse backgrounds. Schahaff and Mayers showed the world that the future of space exploration lies in the hands of empowered women who dare to dream big. "The fact that I am here, the first to travel to space from Antigua, shows that space really is becoming more accessible. I know I will be changed by my experience, and I hope I will be able to share that energy and inspire the people around me — in my role as a life coach, a mother and as an ambassador for our beautiful planet." As London Fashion Week kicks off, BoF founder and editor-in-chief Imran Amed sits down with four London-based creative talents to explore how the city's rich creative scene stems from its unique cultural diversity and the sense of community and collaboration this provides. Background: With over 300 languages spoken within its city limits — more than any other metropolis — London has cemented its place among the world's most global cities. This has boosted its reputation not only as a creative hub, but also as a source of inspiration for creatives around the world working in sectors from fashion and media to music and art.“London has a rich Diasporic culture, and it's where… you have the opportunity to build a community around you,” says fashion designer Jawara Alleyne. “London, being such a vast city, gives that space [for] these multiple different cultures that are existing on top of each other and inspiring each other and feeding off of each other.”This week on The BoF Podcast, BoF founder and editor-in-chief Imran Amed chats with four exciting Londoners shaping the city's creative scene.Alleyne joins conceptual artist Amber Pinkerton, musician Bradley Miller and Dazed editorial director Kacion Mayers to discuss their experiences of living, working and creating in London and to hear their advice for other creatives looking for their big break. Key Insights:London's history of thriving subcultures has helped create an inclusive community spirit, says Alleyne, where “the people around you actually have a shared experience that you can amplify. You're no longer just speaking for yourself, you're speaking for all of the other groups of people who feel the same way that you feel.”Creatives starting out in London should channel their inner courage, says Pinkerton. “Don't be afraid to approach people or bother them… not being afraid to ask for advice, not being afraid to also get… feedback or criticism about things,” she says. Boldness alone isn't enough, Mayers believes. “You need to really find your community, hone in on that and just work with each other and build on each other and create with each other and stay true to what you want to communicate and what you want to create,” he says. Mayers added that his own London community is a frequent reference in his work. “I always want to reflect back to the community. I always want people to open Dazed and… see things that they can recognise and see things that's aspirational… And I think that's key to a lot of people's success, just being able to reflect a reality,” he says. Miller believes the industries that hindered creatives of colour in the past need to change if they want to remain relevant. “These systems and infrastructures… have to adapt to what we're [industry creatives of colour] doing because this is what's happening right now. For them to be relevant or seem to be functioning, they have to [provide] support in these things that are happening in their city,” says Miller. Additional Resources:Meet the Creative Agency Behind Those Viral Dazed Covers: New School, a agency out of London reps a fast-rising group of tight-knit creatives, including members of the teams behind last fall's Dazed covers featuring Rihanna and Harry Styles, campaigns for Apple and Klarna, and a show for Thebe Magugu. In this episode we chat with the Mayers, a family of two non-native speakers of Spanish raising their two children bilingual in Spanish and English using an unconventional method. Instead of the more common, one parent-one language method, they would speak in Spanish Monday through Friday and English on the weekends as an entire family. We discuss the benefits of this method such as familial cohesion, cross-linguistic skill transfer, and space for a break from the minority language. It just goes to show, there's no one right way to raise bilingual children!

This ministry started with a one-man dramatic performance of The Bema Live. Since 2016, it has been presented for thousands of people all over the world, and has been a valuable tool for inspiring a biblical view of stewardship and generosity. But we didn't want to stop there! Our lives are filled with stories, from books and magazines, to movies, tv shows, and news stations. Even thirty-second clips on social media are telling you a story. And Jesus himself conveyed some of his most revolutionary teaching through stories. With that in mind, we formed this organization to harness the power of stories for the glory of God and the good of our neighbors. We want to tell about the lives of people who, at crucial moments, chose to live out their faith in light of eternity. By sharing their stories, we hope to help you Think Forever. MissionTo inspire eternal perspective through the art of storytelling. We seek to motivate the body of Christ to action by telling the stories of people who have leveraged their lives in light of eternity. Consider what you have been given and how you can use it for the glory of God.Think Forever. VisionWe look forward to a time when every person, everywhere, has had the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus.Every story we tell comes with the intention of inspiring the followers of Christ to put their faith into action; of stirring up in them the desire to steward their time, talent, and treasure. As a non-profit organization, Think Forever continually works with other ministries to bring this vital message to the world.
