Fraser will dive into the best Olympic basketball tournament of our lifetime! This will be the most even, exciting and best Olympic men's basketball tourney in its history. As you may know, the world has caught up... somewhat... to the basketball powerhouse USA. We currently are in an era with the most talent in the history of the game and it is pouring across all countries. Right now the All-NBA 1st Team, which are the best 5 players in the league, only had 1 USA player on the roster... correct, 4 of the best players in the league are not American. The best prospect since Lebron, Victor Wembenyama, is not American. The MVP of the league was not American, The Defensive Player Of The Year was not American, back-to-back #1 overall picks are not American. What this translates into is the greatest Olympic men's basketball tourney of all time. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fraser-laveay/support

On today's episode, Justin takes a look back at the 2023-2024 NBA Regular Season, in the annual Sports Talk with Swag End of Season NBA Awards Show! This was the first year that the NBA implemented their new games-played minimum for award qualification, which didn't have as big of an impact of some people thought it would at the beginning of the season - on the contrary! Many players, such as LeBron James, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant, played the most minutes they've played in several years. With the NBA being more skilled and talented than it ever has been, it made voting for awards like Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player a lot more difficult than they normally are!
It doesn't get much better than this. We have another former Allstar and Hall of Famer in the house! Sidney Moncrief takes time to hang out and share his basketball story with us in an episode you do NOT want to miss. Sidney Moncrief is an Arkansas legend. He is still the schools All time leader in Rebounds, he was the 1979 SWC Player of the Year and also helped lead Arkansas to a Final Four. He went on to be the 5th overall pick in the 1979 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. During his Hall of Famer career he was 5x NBA Allstar, 2x Defensive Player of the Year and has both his College & NBA numbers retired. Most importantly, he is doing so many great things outside of basketball these days. Moncrief shares awesome stories about growing up in Arkansas, the recruiting process, Coach Eddie Sutton, Sports Illustrated cover, journey to NBA, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Don Nelson, life after hoops, his books and MUCH more! This was truly an honor to have Sidney Moncrief on the podcast today. NBA MVP discussions have begun. The criteria seems to differ based on multiple factors, so we got into what our personal criteria is for both MVP, and Defensive Player Of The Year. We also talked about the New Orleans Pelicans' recent stretch behind Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, The Cleveland Cavaliers' dominance as they get healthy, and how the Miami Heat have looked since acquiring Terry Rozier and Delon Wright.Rate, Comment and FollowSocials:@PlayoffFoul@KennySpenceNBA@FrankyG_@SaucyTakezIG - BlackGlowMusic
Tua Tagovailoa has quickly climbed the odds board for MVP. He currently second (+650) behind last years MVP Patrick Mahomes (+600). However after two games the best player in the NFL has been Micah Parsons. After single handedly destroying the Giants and Jets. Parsons is now the favorite to win Defensive Player Of The Year (+135) but should he be in consideration for MVP (+7000)? The Bengals looked very rusty in week one's loss to the Browns. Week two against the Ravens was more encouraging. Does a hobbled Joe Burrow raise the concern level for the Bengals? The Prop Queen Ariel Epstein is back to help preview the two MNF games. Giving her best props for each team and Ryan gives his best bets to cap off week two in the NFL.
Part One of the Good Morning Football Podcast begins with an update on Travis Kelce's injury. Hosts Jamie Erdahl, Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager, and Super Bowl Champion Jason McCourty debate the impact Kelce's absence would have on the Chiefs. Stay tuned for MVP Predictions and Kenny Britt coming up in Part Two of the GMFB Podcast! In today's episode, Justin takes a look at all of the regular season awards for the NBA, along with the changes that will be made for next years voting. Most media members have a minimum of 55 games played for their awards, but the NBA decided to officially make it 65 games played for all major awards, including MVP. How will this shake it in this year's awards, with over a third of the 20-point scorers not playing over 65 games, and over half of the top-25 in PER not meeting the minimum either.
