Economics lessons that explain how SEO works. You're welcome.
Let's talk about it. Part 2 will be next Wednesday.

Buying an existing business allows you to skip the building phase and jump straight into generating profit. Similarly, using expired domains can be a cost-effective alternative to starting from scratch. This is a tactic that Sean Markey often uses, leveraging expired domains to fast-track the authority of his sites. Sean is an SEO who specializes in acquiring, building out, and 301'ing expired domains. Using this approach, he has sold over $775k in sites in the last few years. In this episode, Sean joins us to shed light on the various benefits of using expired domains. We discuss the qualities of a great expired domain, and the red flags you should steer clear of. According to Sean, “For me the most important characteristics are, is the expired domain indexed? Then, if it's indexed, is it ranking? A lot of really powerful expired domains with strong backlink profiles will continue ranking. That makes the pool of possible acquisitions smaller because a lot of sites don't hold their rankings through that expiration process. Then, check what the site is ranking for and ask yourself if it's niche-relevant to what you're doing.” Sean dives into the various ways you can use expired domains, and how long it will take to start seeing results. He also reveals the best places to purchase expired domains and walks us through some strategies you can use to win domain auctions. The majority of the expired domain's value is derived from its backlink profile, so the majority of the expired domain's value is derived from it. Various methods can help you find expired domains fast. You only have to enter a few niche-relevant keywords into the software to find expired domain names. Look for domains that were used as blog networks or have been repurposed for another use, so you can avoid issues in your SEO. Those domains that have already expired will not be indexed and will only be reindexed by Google. If Google is very careful to make sure that the links you have are quality, and if they aren't, your rank takes a hit. A good website with high-quality backlinks is much better for your rank than one with 10,000 sites that are considered spam. From an SEO perspective, it is essential to use a domain that hasn't been overused. Most of the anchor text profiles must not be optimized for that domain. If you buy an old domain name, it will probably affect your site's rank in a bad way. As of July 2021, there are a total of 153,210 expired domains on the internet. Acquiring defunct or existing (but not currently live) domains can boost your SEO results. There are downsides to acquiring expired domains, especially if you do it wrong. If it is done right, you can use an expired domain for SEO purposes. When you purchase an expired URL, you can collect some of that traffic for your site. Many old websites may have the traffic that you need for your current site, including the potentially of many aged inbound links. You don't have to do as much work building links (either directly or through various link building services) if you buy old domain names from someone who was trying to get a high rank. Existing PageRank, Domain Authority, or Domain Rating means. Google will treat your site with more authority and rank you higher for specific search terms. Redirecting old links to a new page where there is no content overlap can send that page into the Google Sandbox (at least for a time). An expired domain gives you an SEO head start, so you don't need to build a site on a new domain. In today's episode, I interview Sean Markey and we discuss everything expired domains: how to find them, how to flip, and how to build successful sites using aged domains. He has been on quite the journey including selling a CBD affiliate site in the high 6-figures and much more.
If you want to start a PBN or just find a new domain name that has a good backlink profile to it, check out Expired Domains. You can find domains from all sorts of different companies. Some of these domains are good and some are really bad, so you will need to do your research if you want to purchase one of these. Welcome back to Casey's SEO, and this is going to be part, two of starting a pbn. So yesterday i went ahead and just discussed what a pbn is and kind of why it's against the terms, but in a way how it may not be. So it's definitely a gray area. I mean i do understand it, but one place where you can go through and find expired domains. The website is expired, domains. et, that's just one of the places. There are many many places out there that you can find these expired domains which may help you not necessarily create a pbn but get ahead of the game if you're going to start some type of new website, so just for example, on this site, you can go In there are multiple tabs for like uh godaddy auctions or expired domains, you can make offers you can buy now, and then there are some of the smaller companies that my guess is bought specific domains and then go ahead and resell. Those now some domains are, i think, reasonably priced and some are super duper overpriced in my opinion, and that is half of the stuff on godaddy. If you look at just any of the auctions, I've followed some of the auctions on just small sites. Now, when I'm talking small, I'm we're looking at uh like a domain ranking of 20, it may have, let's say a hundred good domains. Um the backlink profiles look decent, and that is another thing that you can do on this site. Here is you can go through and filter out everything, so, if you're looking for, like some trust, scores from majestic like if you want that at 10, 15 25, if you want certain things turned on and off, you can go ahead and do that, and so that Makes it a little bit easier to search for domains now, one of the things people always say is: don't pay attention to domain ranking, which is true. I would still go ahead and just take a look at that, because on some of these domain rankings, depending on what i mean systems that you're checking those on, i mean you can really inflate those a lot more than what you should be able to like. For example, with ahrefs, I've noticed because I've done this before with uh with a different site. If you put in i mean honestly just a bunch of spam type sites, they don't even have to be that good, but you can get your your URL. What ranking you can get that up 30 40 up on higher it. You know as long as you throw in some other good sites. With that your domain rank. It won't necessarily go up a whole lot but, like i said, if you throw in some just decent sites that still might be a little spammy, i don't know if it takes into a lot of consideration what those sites are. So just just remember that, but definitely just take a look at how many backlinks they have where those backlinks came from and then see. If they have, you know tons of spammy stuff on there. If they don't, then that domain may be a good domain for you. Now, let's just jump back to price, just really quick. So, for example, I'm looking on the screen here, i got this site up here. They want sixteen hundred dollars. Well, this one's not for godaddy this other site down here is not actually they have some good sites. But even if you just look in the godaddy auctions, you might find some for fifty thousand dollars and you go back and you look at some of their information. It may have a domain rank of like five and some of those have like uh, like 90 000 backlinks with the domain rank of five, and they want fifty thousand dollars for these domains. Some of it just doesn't make sense uh some of the auctions that are following some of those do make a little bit more sense. I mean you're getting a decent domain for anywhere, let's say 100 to 500, and that's what I'm kind of finding. If you want a decent domain, i mean you're going to be spending a couple hundred dollars, if not more, and that all just depends on the domain and its whole profile. That comes with it. Some of them i have found where you're looking at like a domain, ranking and good links a DR of like 55, and they may want 8 000 for the site, so some stuff makes sense, and i guess it all just depends on. You know how far ahead of the game you want to be and how much money you want to spend, but that is it for today just wanted to. Let you guys know about this site I'll, leave the link in the description, so you can go ahead and check that out play around with it see what's on there. Maybe you'll find something that you can use for a new site and maybe you won't, but just keep your eye out because at some point, if you are looking for a site, you should find something that will work for you. But that is it and we will talk to you later.

They cover how to acquire expired domains, how to efficiently build websites with them, and why to use expired domains. EPISODE SPONSOR🔥 Smash Digital - an SEO growth agency with actual skin in the game, ranking their own portfolio of profitable businesses, and offering the exact same services to clients. Check. Them. Out.📝 Show Summary & InsightsExpired Domain “Sniff Test”They use several tools for a five-minute sniff test to gauge domains. One of these is SpamZilla, which finds many sources to buy expired domains. It also filters them using different metrics such as UR, DR, trust flow, organic traffic, and many more. The metrics used depend on the purpose of the domain. Looking at the metrics, you need to determine whether the domain looks good, and is a good fit for its purpose. SemRush is a valuable site for doing quick sniff tests using their categorization of backlinks.Adam mentions that once the sniff test is passed, you can use the Wayback Machine for the domain. You can see multiple snapshots of each year to determine whether a site or domain is really good. There are cases when outbound links to unwanted sites exist. Adam says that you shouldn’t worry about whether or not a website is in the index or if it’s been 301 redirected to another site. What matters is that the link profile is checked and the links are still alive. It's usually still better than having a fresh domain.First StepsThe first thing to do - sometimes even before buying a domain - is to think about the keyword plan or the content plan for the domain. Some niches are more competitive than others so you want to consider if the domain is powerful enough to compete in that specific niche. The keyword research done by Adam and his team is proprietary. However, he mentions that it involves looking at competitors in the same space or niche, figuring out who the weaker competitors are, and analyzing how the outliers with good organic traffic are doing this. Content plans are built around uncovering and reverse engineering the content from outliers who are performing really well in their niche. There are things you can do to increase the chance of success for your domain. In terms of site structure, you want to ensure that your homepage passes as much link juice through to the rest of the site as possible.Starting out, try to cover only a small sub-niche, keeping the click depth of a website really low, i.e., everything only two clicks away from the homepage. You can check the best pages-by-links report using Ahrefs. You want to keep these links for two reasons. One is that they’re good links and you want to keep them active. Two is, there’s a chance that these links might 401 if you leave them.Handling LinksThere are two options for tidying up the links. The first option is to take the existing content and keep it on the website. This is the riskiest, but may be mitigated by hiding these pieces of content from the website navigation so you can’t get to them. The second option is rewriting the content in your own words or repurposing the content. As a rule of thumb, Adam says that any old page with more than five links pointing to it should be recreated, and anything with less than two links is redirected back to the homepage. One thing that differentiates an expired domain is how all the old redirects are handled. Apart from this, the steps are the same as for setting up a new site.Adam’s ApproachAdam has been building out sites on expired domains for his own personal portfolio, but still builds domains or sites on fresh domains for clients.Adam compares his website building approach to a horse race; he doubles down on the ones that are doing the best. A typical worst case scenario seen with expired domains is that they act like fresh domains. This means that they have a sandbox period and revenue coming in after three or four months of the site going live. On the other hand, there are outliers and sites that grow insanely fast from the start. If everything goes well, traffic typically shows within the first six weeks so Adam suggests waiting a month or two to see traffic. You can check Ahrefs and SemRush to see the increase in the number of keywords indexed which points at the right direction. There’s no commonality between sites that perform like rocket ships from the get-go, versus the sites that sit and don’t take off so well.A phenomenon of expired domains is that these sites may have metrics that look good, have due diligence and proper checks performed, but there is still no way to tell how they will do.Adam recommends his company's services as they are flexible and tailored to the level of experience of the client building the site. The client may be as involved or as hands-off as they like.Guest InfoWebsite: Nichewebsite.buildersNiche Website Builders Facebook GroupWhat did you think?Did you enjoy this episode or do you have a question? Please leave a comment to let us know.Cheers,Juliet Get on the email list at website.investing.io

In this episode I talk about some things I learned about making your own kick-butt cred-capturing phishing campaign and how to do so on the (relatively) quick and (relatively) cheap! These tips include: Consider this list of top 9 phishing simulators. Check out GoPhish! Then spin up a free tier Kali AWS box Follow the instructions to install GoPhish and get it running on your AWS box Use the Expired Domains site to buy up a domain that is similar to your victim - maybe just one character off - but has been around a while and has a good reputation Add a G Suite or O365 email account (or whatever email service you prefer) to the new domain Create a convincing cred-capturing portal on GoPhish - I used some absolutely disguisting and embarassing HTML like this (see show notes on 7ms.us): Use this awesome article to secure your fancy landing page with a LetsEncrypt cert! Have fun!!!

Hustle To Freedom: Everyday People Creating Extraordinary Side Hustles
In this episode, we are chatting with Kevin Holloman to find out how, in less than 6 months, he has been able to surpass his day job income with his side hustle. You may recognize the name Greg Jeffries that gets tossed around in this conversation a few times - he was our guest on episode 23. I do want to take a second to preface this conversation with a small caution. The strategies we discuss in this episode should not be used on your primary website - you’ll hear it referred to in this as an authority site. Kevin makes it very clear during the chat but I just wanted to through that out there before we dive in. So let’s not waste any more time so you can hear how Kevin has topped his day job income now. You can check Kevin's website at savingyoursanity.com Kevin mentioned few things in this episode: Clickfunnels: http://bit.ly/grow_with_clickfunnels SERP Shaker: https://serpshaker.com/ Expired Domains: https://www.expireddomains.net/ Spin Rewriter: https://www.spinrewriter.com/ You can pick up your copy of The Side Hustle Journal over at www.gritandhustle.co If you have an awesome side hustle that you would like to share with the world, I'd love to have you on my podcast. Last week, I released a podcast that I did with Hayden Miyamoto where he explained how he is pulling in $30,000 a month with small niche sites. As suspected, people loved the podcast! Hayden was able to share a lot of his "secrets" that he uses to build micro niche sites after Google Penguin in that podcast. So, today I am releasing a new podcast interview I did a couple of days ago to dig a bit deeper on how Hayden is using expired domains to build links to his niche sites. In particular, we discuss exactly HOW and WHERE he is finding the high value expired domains. These are some advanced tactics that most people starting with niche sites are not familiar with. In fact, I didn't even know you could find expired domains using these methods until recently.
