If you can conceive the plot of this movie, Pirates of Ghost Island depicts a group of friends celebrating a graduation party on a cruise who after a storm become unexpectedly stranded on an island that has been run by pirates for the past 200 years. These pirates are certainly ghoulish. This movie was one of the first movies that Bryan, Shane, and Mike watched together when they started watch low budget horror movies and has a special place in their hearts. While nonsensical, there is a certain pleasure they take in watching movies like this and trying to make sense of them. SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING. Dan kicks off with two big stories today. Heading to Japan for the first one, to visit a Ghost Island. A very unique place. This one had us all twitchy! And then, we stay in Asia but travel all the way to Afghanistan to cover a collection of supposed sightings from some US Marines. Some really INTENSE sightings at a place once known as Observation Post Rock. Lynze presents us with a new horror character we have yet to meet, the pichal peri. What kind of creepy experience is there to share! And then, a death in a hotel room connects two people who quite possibly were never meant to meet. Is a ghost bringing them together? You decide.New Merch: You asked for it and it's here. Official DJ Honey merch in store now featuring me, DJ Honey. You can now purchase the official THE BUZZ 93.6 Tee shirt, representing Charlotte's number 1 adult contemporary station. Also a pretty accurate DJ Honey tee is available as well. You'll also find the coffee mugs we keep in the station break room. The Museum of Tolerance (MOT) is the only museum of its kind in the world. Many years ago, a local family dedicated a small, wooded island near the Ashley River as a solemn refuge for their deceased relations. A mortuary vault of brick and stone sheltered numerous coffins from the passing seasons, but could not repel the intrusion of gnawing vermin and curious humans. After scores of visitors vandalized the secluded crypt, descendants gathered more than a century ago to salvage the remains and demolish the vault. This Gothic story of decay and morbid curiosity underscores the virtues of remembrance and respect in our historic community.
The revival is back for a season that certainly... exists.

It's been a really interesting experience kicking off a podcast as a "pandemic project" – rarely, if ever, sitting in the same room as co-hosts and almost never sharing a space with our guests. Despite the challenges of producing this show remotely, these conversations have remained engaging, enlightening, fun, and have quenched the thirst that is our curiosity for human beings. In today's episode, we broke the mold a bit and invited the entire roster of Phoenix, Ariz. based "downer shoegaze" ensemble Ghost Island to join us in a discussion of Sigur Rós' 2002 LP "( )" We hope you enjoy today's episode with our guests Roddy, John, and Michael of Ghost Island. Get the full SHOW NOTES HERE. NOTE: In this episode, John (of Ghost Island) posits that Hammock brought a significant following to the project from previous projects which, as John suggests, were religious in nature. Hammock has disagreed with this assumption. Virgin Ears, at its core, is a project that seeks to highlight experiences from diverse and varied backgrounds. Virgin Ears values all opinions and perspectives as a means to kick off discussion and discourse and as such will not amend this episode to exclude this statement (00:18:48) and instead include this note.
Emily grew up in Taipei and became an international student in the US starting at the age of 12, practicing her English, and learning some very-American sports and activities. Episode #08 - Ghost Island Discussion and Analysis - The Merge by The Winner's Edit
You could say things were in a bit of a holding pattern on this episode of Survivor: Ghost Island, but on Episode 7 of the Winner's Edit, we're excited to have our friend Matt as a guest host as we chat about complex tribe theory. With the pre-merge stage of the game winding down, we take a look at the assorted tribe configurations and consider which tribes spun threads for the future and which ones kept things strictly to the necessary plot. With a jam-packed advantage-filled episode this past Wednesday, we come to a potentially surprising consensus for what may be the complex tribe of these last two episodes. Along with all this, Matt joins us in our usual rundown of each castaway and their chance at winning. It seems like things are narrowing down with an extremely obvious front-runner. There's a maxim that says in Edgic, the pre-merge shows you the winner, the post-merge makes you doubt it; will this hold true for Survivor: Ghost Island? SHOW NOTES: – Dan's Edgic – Joe's Edgic – Matt's Edgic Confessional Transcript Drive In this Episode, Matt uses the term ORG, which stands for Online Reality Game. If you're unfamiliar, fans of reality TV have taken Survivor and other competitive reality formats and made them playable in an online setting through forums or specialized apps. There's not really a centralized place to find ORGs, but if you search for “survivor ORG” on Google or Facebook you're likely to find some more information!
It's a chance at FRESH NEW LIFE on Episode 6 of The Winner's Edit, as we talk about an exciting new swap in Survivor: Ghost Island. We start with coverage of the stories that have found their way into the first six episodes and ponder if they're the themes that will define this season. As always, we consider each castaway's edit individually; for us, it's become something of a two-horse race, and we discuss which is the winner and which is “the Devon.” Along the way, we talk about the exact logistics of #WINSHELL, discuss the Desiree Afuye Winner Edit, and hold a final funeral for the winner's stakes of one long-armed queen (seriously, we promise!). How beneficirary for you to join us! SHOW NOTES: Dan's Edgic https://i.gyazo.com/82d0737385c5a76f4752511e74eadf9f.png Joe's Edgic Confessional Transcript Drive
It's a day of mourning for The Winner's Edit, as we discuss Stephanie's departure, the prevalence of the pre-merge “shock boot” edit, and what this boot means for the stories of the season. We also discuss each remaining castaway's edit and what it means for their staying power in the season, winning or not. As always, our discussion is peppered with the villainy of one Bradley Kleihege, the frowny-faced charms of one Jenna Bowman, and the rap prowess of the pastry-hoarding Chris Noble as all these characters hurtle into an unpredictable swap. Thanks for joining us! Here in Episode 4 of The Winner's Edit, we see some storylines rise to the surface as other characters work in the background. We talk about what Donathan and Laurel's potential flip means for all of Naviti, and where the Malolo 4 (now 3) stand with Brendan's departure. As always we share winner contenders, consider upcoming boots, and tip our hats to the invisible ones who have no chance (and Bradley). Thanks for joining us! Here in Episode 3 of both this Survivor: Ghost Island and The Winner's Edit, a tribe swap mixes things up, and we see new characters flourish as others continue to be invisible. In this episode, we talk about how our favorite edits from the premiere have grown better or taken a nosedive, what new contenders are emerging, and what Morgan's #blindside means for the direction of the season. We wrap it up as always with winner contenders, next-boot predictions, and a summary of the stories that define the season so far. Thanks for joining us! SHOW NOTES: Better audio! An intro! We're stoked, and we hope you love it too!
