The World might see the story of Moses as one of a great leader…or, perhaps as the story of the emancipation of a suppressed people. The Bible, however, portrays it as a battle between the forces of good and evil—a battle between the so-called gods of Egypt and the One, true God, the protector of Israel. Join Dr. James Boice on The Bible Study Hour as he describes a series of plagues brought on by the God of Moses…and, the impotence of the gods of Egypt. Hello, Void! We're back with another peek into the bad movie vault, and this time we've been blinded by Gods of Egypt. This is a movie set in Egypt (Atlantis style?), played by white people (cause it's y2k, wait, wait, wait, it's actually 2016!), and filled to the brim with terrible CGI (no ILM for you!). We discuss how Hollywood needs more one-eyed hot guys, Hathor's VIP star-encrusted rave bracelet, and how much fun Gerard Butler is having. Genuinely, Gerard's portrayal of Set is the only thing that keeps this film afloat, and he does it with sassy/snarky comments, being evil, and threatening people (but make it sexy). It's wild to see such a stellar cast be just so miserable. But worry not, Void! For your hosts, Erin and Brennan, do what they do best: get REAL nerdy about ancient Egyptian history and mythology!!
In this study we will take a look at the miracles that Yahweh performed on the Egyptians, when Israel was held in bondage, during this period in Exodus. We will see that those miracles were against the Egyptian deities or gods that they worshipped. Moses was the prototype of the Christ or Messiah. More importantly, the nation of Israel saw Moses as a prototype and the Bible record illustrates that point. Moses said: ‘And Yahweh said unto me, they have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.' (Deut. 18:17-18,).In this study I continue in chapter 8. Verses 20-32 Fourth Plague Flies20 And the Lord said unto Moses, rise up early in the morning = Of the day following, the twenty eight of Adar, or February, according to Bishop Usher;and stand before Pharaoh = meet him as he comes along, and stop him, and stand before him as having something to say to himlo, he cometh forth to the water = the river Nile, either to take his morning's walk, and to refresh himself at the waterside, as the Jerusalem Targum21 let = “eth” Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossBy placing the “eth” in front of ‘my people' this locks in the fact that it is truly Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah's Elect! There is no mistake that He wants to deliver His people out of bondage!I will send = ‘shâlach' ‘shaw-lakh'' ‘shin-lamed-chet' ‘Aleph-Tav'Shin = (two front teeth) sharp, press, eat, twolamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindChet = (tent wall) outside, divide, halfAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossYahweh/Yahshua Messiah is pressing the point to Pharaoh, by not letting My People go We will divide the 2 nations in half and with the ‘shepherds' staff' We will bring upon you the flies.Swarm of flies = the word used is generally thought to signify a "mixture", and is interpreted by many a mixture of various creatures or insectsOf = “eth” Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leader Tav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossBy placing the “eth” in front of ‘swarms of flies' this locks in the fact that it is truly Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah's performing these miracles! There is no mistake that He wants to deliver His people out of bondage!I read from Thomas Horns book ‘The Gods'I talk about the Bohemin Grove and their ritual22 sever = “paw-law” A primitive root; to distinguish (literally or figuratively): - put a difference, show marvelous, separate, set apart, sever, make wonderfully. Day = ‘yôm' ‘yome' ‘yod-vav-mem' ‘Aleph-Tav'Yod = (arm and closed hand) work, throw, worshipvav = (tent peg) add, secure, hookMem = (water) chaos, blood, mightyAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Hebrew letter for ‘yod' is a picture of a hand representing work, the Hebrew letter for ‘mem' is a picture of water. Combined these mean "working water". The sea or other large body of water is the place of storms and heavy surf. Back in verse 20, we read that Pharaoh visits the Nile river to worship his gods. By adding ‘Aleph-Tav' Pharaoh will see a greater storm, that even his gods cannot prevent!Have any questions? Feel free to email me keitner2024@outlook.com

Combined these mean "seed basket". Squash seeds were planted along the routes of the travelers and nomads for future use by themselves and other travelers. The squash plant spreads out over a large area forming varied sizes and shapes of squash fruit. Combined these mean "seed in the palm". Seeds of certain plants were placed in the palm and rubbed with the thumb to a powdery spice. Wow! Can you see what I see? I can picture Yahshua Messiah hanging on Calvary's Cross, arms stretched out ‘palms open up' holding the seeds of those that place their faith in Him! Once again we see Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah defeating death! lice = An Egyptian word, mosquito-gnat, some believe sand fleas or fleas. The Hebrew word occurs only in connection with this plague.17 and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man and in beast = which shows it was a miraculous operation, since lice do not usually spring from dust, but thrive in the sweat of bodies,18 did so = Hebrew idiom, attempted to do so. This question is answered in verse 2423 Referring to the first miracle of Aaron's serpent, to which he paid no attention.Chapter 8 Verses 1-15 Second Plague FrogsI Read from the Legends of the Old Testament, Moses before Pharaoh 1. Her name is Heket (Heqet). A goddess of childbirth and protector of the dead. She is the daughter of Ra and is sometimes called the 'Eye of Ra' and 'Mother of the gods'. She is shown as a frog, a symbol of life and fertility (millions of them are born after the annual inundation of the Nile), or as a woman with a frog's head. I read from the Legends of the Old Testament, Moses before Pharaoh, I also read from THOMAS HORNS BOOK “THE GODS” Beginning with verse 14 to Chapter 10 verse 29 we have Moses and Aaron with the first nine plagues.7:14-25 First Plague ‘Water Turned to Blood' There is no warning!14 Pharaoh's heart is hardened = כבד ‘cabed', is become heavy or stupid; he receives no conviction, in spite of the clearness of the light which shines upon him. 15 Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning =The next morning, a time in which the mind is most composed and calm, and fit to attend to what may be suggested lo, he goeth out unto the water = the river Nile, either to take his morning's walk, and to refresh himself at the waterside, as the Jerusalem Targum; and thou shall stand by the river's brink against he come = over against the brink of the river Nile, in order to meet him: and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand = as a terror to Pharaoh,16 let = “eth” Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossBy placing the “eth” in front of ‘my people' this locks in the fact that it is truly Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah's Elect! He is now told that he shall soon know the Yahweh of the Hebrews.I will smite = The may be Moses, but Aaron preformed the act at the command of Moses.and they shall be turned to blood = and if this river was their god, it would abundantly appear that the Elohim of the Hebrews was Yahweh, and above all gods, and particularly above theirs. 18 And the fish that is in the river shall die = Their element being changed, and they not able to live in any other but water. and the river shall stink = with the blood, into which it should be solid, and with the putrefied bodies of fishes floating in it: 21 And the fish that was in the river died = Which was a full proof that the conversion of it into blood was real; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt = in the river, wherever it flowed, in all its streams and channels,This is the first plague executed on the Egyptians, and a very righteous one by the law of retaliation for shedding the blood of innocent babes, through casting them into this river; and this will be the second and third vials of Elohim's wrath, which will be poured on antichrist, or mystical Egypt, who will have blood given to drink because worthy, see Rev. 16:3. In verses 8- 13 we have Moses, Aaron and the Magicians9 When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, etc. = The king would naturally demand some evidence of their having been sent from Elohim; and as he would expect the ministers of his own gods to do the same worksTake = “lâqach” “law-kakh'” “lamed-quph-chet” “Aleph-Tav”lamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindquph = (sun on the horizon) condense, circle, timeChet = (tent wall) outside, divide, halfAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossAaron you take that shepherds staff (symbolic of Yahshua Messiah) for the time is coming that I Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah will divide MY Elect from this bondage!10 cast down = “shâlak” “shaw-lak'” “shin-lamed-kaph” “Aleph-Tav”Shin = (two front teeth) sharp, press, eat, twolamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindKaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tameAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThis wasn't any ordinary wooden shepherd's staff, but the true Shepherd Himself, Yahshua Messiah that took on the bondage of Satan and allowed that staff to become a serpent showing Pharaoh that He was the creator of all things! It became a serpent = תנין tannin. What kind of a serpent is here intended remains a debate among the so-called scholars. From the manner in which the original word is used in Psa. 74:13; Isa. 27:1; 51:9; Job 7:12; some very large creature, is probably meant; some have thought that the crocodile, a well-known Egyptian animal, is here intended. If we assume that the rod was changed into a crocodile, then we ask why a crocodile? The ancient goddess of war, Neith, was revered as the goddess of wisdom. At different periods she was identified with Athena, noted as the sister of Isis, and named the protector of Duamutef. Neith was the mother of Sobek, known as the crocodile god.11 wise men = wizards, who possessed a knowledge of many secrets of nature which were unknown to the people.Sorcerers = men who are adept in altering the external appearance of things by their artsMagicians = ‘sacred scribes', versed in magic lore and practice; jugglers of marvelous skillSecret arts = their spells and sleight-of-hand. Snake charming is widespread in the East, ancient and modern.Have any questions? Feel free to email me keitner2024@outlook.com
Pharoah's heart was hardened by God so the He could perform the signs and wonders of the 10 Plagues on the Egyptians. On the surface, this seems unfair. Did God take away Pharaoh's free will so that he would be defiant, allowing God to visit more suffering on the Egyptians? This can't be true, because we know that God is always and completely right and just. So what's the answer? The truth is that God did not initiate Pharaoh's hardened heart. It was a justified REACTION to what Pharoah did to the Israelites! Also, why did God choose those specific 10 plagues? Were they just random ordeals to torment the Egyptians, or were they intentional? The answer comes from understanding and accepting the supernatural worldview. In this study we will take a look at the miracles that Yahweh performed on the Egyptians, when Israel was held in bondage, during this period in Exodus. We will see that those miracles were against the Egyptian deities or gods that they worshippedIn this study I begin in chapter 7.1 I have made thee a god to Pharaoh = not a god by nature, but made so or ‘set' you up2 shalt speak = “daw-bar'” “dalet-bet-resh” “aleph=tav”dalet – (tent door) move, hang, entranceBet = (tent floor plan) family, house, inresh = (head of a Man) front, head, chief, first, top, beginningAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossBasically we have a meaning of a ‘careful arrangement of words or commands.' However when we break this down we see Moses being the head honcho or chief of the family of Israel entering into this land of bondage, BUT who is doing the speaking spiritually? Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah! By adding the “eth” to ‘dabar' it really isn't Moses speaking but Elohim! We know from the words of Yahshua Messiah that the Holy Spirit will speak on our behalfThat he send = “shin-lamd-chet” “Aleph-Tav”Shin = (two front teeth) sharp, press, eat, twolamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindChet = (tent wall) outside, divide, halfAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and cross3 harden = that is tough or severe. This would be the result. But the divine message would be the occasion, not the cause of the king's unremorseful stubbornnessLet's take a deeper look into this word. “kaw-shaw'” “quph-shin-hey” “Alpeh-Tav”quph = (sun on the horizon) condense, circle timeShin = (two front teeth) sharp, press, eat twohey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossIn ancient Hebrew the pictograph ‘quph' is a picture of the sun at the horizon and the gathering of the light, the letter ‘shin' is a picture of the teeth representing pressure. Combined these mean "bring together and pressed". Once the grain stalks are harvested from the field, it is gathered into bundles and secured with a cord in the middle. Now by adding the “eth” will really see who is in Charge! Not only is Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah going to harden Pharaoh's heart, but by applying pressure to Pharaoh Yahweh will gather His Elect out of bondageMultiply = “raw-baw'” “resh-bet-hey” “Aleph-Tav”resh = (head of a Man) front, head, chief, first, top, beginningBet = (tent floor plan) family, house, inhey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Hebrew letter “resh” is a picture of a head, the letter “bet” is a picture of the tent representing the family. Combined these mean "head of the family". Each family has a master that rules all cases, trials, conflicts and contests. This person was the representative for the whole tribe, one abundant in authority and wisdom. (see Exodus 18:25). So, who is the Head of Israel? Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah! By adding “eth” this takes away the fact the Moses a mire flesh man is really in charge. Moses may be performing the miracles; however it is Elohim that is providing the resultsHave any questions? (Deut. 18:17-18,).In this study I finish Chapter 6. Then I read from the Legends of the Old Testament, Moses before Pharaoh, page 264 [begin at ‘And the Lord spake…] – 267 and from the Book of Jasher Chapter 809 Moses and Aaron now in the Land of EgyptBut they hearkened not = Their bondage was become so extremely oppressive that they had lost all hope of ever being redeemed from it.Anguish of spirit = קצר רוח kotzer ruach, shortness of spirit or breath. The words signify that their labor was so continual, and their bondage so cruel and oppressive, that they had scarcely time to breathe.11 that he let = “eth” Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossBy using this Hebrew word “eth” we know for sure that Yahshua Messiah is in control. Pharaoh may think that he is in control, but in all reality Yahshua Messiah is in control!12 saying, behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me = even though Moses brought a comfortable message to them from Yahweh, and delivered many gracious promises of His to them, assuring them of deliverance out of Egypt, and of their possession of the land of Canaan. 13 to bring = same word as in verse 6. = “yâtsâ'” “yaw-tsaw'” ‘yod-tsade-aleph' ‘aleph-tav'Yod = (arm and closed hand) work, throw, worshipTsade = (trail) journey, chase, hunt, man on his sidealeph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Hebrew Letter ‘tsade' is a picture of a man laying down or squatting. To issue out of something. To go, come or issue out. Therefore with Yahweh's Elect being squashed by the bondage of Egypt, Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah will break that bondage and bring the Elect out of bondage! 29 of Egypt = “mitsrayim” “mits-rah'-yim” “mem-tsade-resh-yod-mem” Aleph-Tav” Mem = (water) chaos, blood, mighty Tsade = (trail) journey, chase, hunt, man on his side resh = (head of a Man)front, head, chief, first, top, beginning Yod = (arm and closed hand) work, throw, worship Mem = (water) chaos, blood, mightyAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crosWhen I look at these Hebrew Letters I see the signs of Pharaoh of Egypt. He is a mighty chief man that causes blood, chaos, asking the Hebrew people to work and worship for him, but praise Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah for there is a journey in his future that will destroy his armies! I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.' (Deut. 18:17-18,).In this study we will picked it up in Chapter 6 verse 2 to 92 The emphasis is on the words ‘I am Yahweh'. They are not intended to inform Moses what Yahweh is called, but to impress upon him that ‘the guarantee of the fulfillment of the Divine promises lay in the nature of the Being who had given the promises'. Even the phrase ‘I am Pharaoh' [Gen. 41:44] is merely an assertion of royal authority and power, in the same manner. ‘I am Yahweh,' means, ‘I am He who has the power and faithfulness to fulfill any promise vouchsafed by Me. I have promised Redemption, and I shall fulfill that promise; I will and can do it. Israel shall yet know that I am Yahweh, and Pharaoh, who had contemptuously declared, I know not Yahweh! – he too shall know it.' 3 God Almighty = El Shaddaibut by My name Yahweh = It is certain that the name Yahweh was in use long before the days of Abraham,4 established = “qûm” “koom” “quph-vav-mem” “aleph-tav”quph = (sun on the horizon) condense, circle timevav = (tent peg) add, secure, hookMem = (water) chaos, blood, mightyAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossTo raise or rise up. Also in the sense of continuing or establishing something.Canaan = “kena‛an” “ken-ah'-an” “kaph-nun-ayin-nun” “Aleph-tav”Kaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tameNun = (seed) continue, heir, sonAyin = (eye) watch, know, shade (this letter is basically silent)(seed) continue, heir, sonAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossWhen you take this word back to the prime, we have a meaning as to bend. When a large bundle is placed on the shoulders the person is bent down low. To be brought down low in humility or submission. Now by adding the “Aleph-Tav” we see that true believers will humble themselves in Yahshua Messiah in order to enter that promise land! land of Canaan = the land that was inhabited by the giants. The land was the future Messiah shall come from.5 I have heard = the pronoun ‘I' is said emphatic. I.e. the same Being who established the CovenantHeard = “shâma‛” “shaw-mah'” “shin-mem-ayin” “Aleph-tav”Shin = (two front teeth) sharp, press, eat twoMem = (water) chaos, blood, mightyAyin = (eye) watch, know, shade (this letter is basically silent)Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThere the meaning is a careful hearing of someone or something, as well as responding appropriately in obedience or action. As Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah hears the cries of their Elect, they prepare to take action against their Elect.Have any questions? Feel free to email me keitner2024@outlook.com

It is the blueprint of the Plan of Salvation of the world as seen from the structure laid down in the Bible. 18:17-18,).In this study we will picked it up in Chapter 5 verse 20In Chapters 5 and 6 we will learn of the Unsuccessful Appeal to Pharaoh and the Increase of the OppressionIn this study I begin with the Book of Jasher Chapter 79:2020 they = officers And they met = “pâga‛” “paw-gah'” “pey-gamel-ayin” “aleph-tav”Pey = (mouth) blow, scatter, edge gamel = (foot) gather, walk Ayin = (eye) watch, know, shade (this letter is basically silent)Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leader Tav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and cross To come together in meeting by chance. Also to give or place as a meeting. This was all divine, this was Elohims plan for that rescue of His Elect.21 abhorred = stink in the eyes. The officer's firm belief, upon Moses and Aaron, may Yahweh requite you for the evil you have brought upon the Israelites!23 Hast thou delivered = The verb נצל ‘natsal' signifies, not only to spoil, snatch away, but also to get away, to escape, to deliver, to regain, or recover. Spoil signifies what is taken by rapine or violence; but this cannot be the meaning of the original word here, as the Israelites only asked, and the Egyptians without fear, terror, or constraint, freely gave. “nun-tsade-lamed” “Aleph-tav”Nun = (seed) continue, heir, sonTsade = (trail) journey, chase, hunt, man on his sideLamed = lamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and cross What we learn from Moses as he blows off his disappointment against Yahweh, that we must be patienced. The time was not yet. Elohim is in charge. We must keep our faith in Him and be paitenced. Chapter 61 now shalt thou see = Yahweh calms Moses by renewing the promise of redemptionfor with a strong hand = Compelled by the power of YahwehNow we go into the “Renewed Promise of Redemption”These verses are the concluding portion of the Call of Moses, and can only be understood in connection with Chapters 3 and 4. In view of the despair and despondency of both Moses and the People recorded in the last chapter and in reply to the reproach of Moses ‘Thou hast not delivered Thy people,' Yahweh repeats the promises of redemption made at Horeb.Have any questions? Let = not the same Hebrew word as before, “pâra‛” “paw-rah'”. “pey-resh-ayin” “aleph-tav”Pey = (mouth) blow, scatter, edgeresh = (head of a Man)front, head, chief, first, top, beginningAyin = (eye) watch, know, shade (this letter is basically silent)Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossTo uncover, remove or let go. Not just any group of People, but elect People of Elohim!5 Why, asked Pharaoh, should all these people rest from their labors, in order to listen to the talk of Moses and Aaron? And ye make them rest = “shâbath” “shaw-bath'” shin-bet-tav” “aleph-tav”Shin =(two front teeth) sharp, press, eat twoBet = (tent floor plan) family, house, inTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossTo cease from an activity for the purpose or rest or celebration. Note the Hebrew word, this is a play on Sabbath! As we rest in Yahshua Messiah every day. Place our burdens upon that cross of Yahshua Messiah.6 same day = Pharaoh not wasting any timeDay = “yôm” “yome” “yod-vav-mem” “aleph-tav”Yod = (arm and closed hand) work, throw, worshipVav = (tent peg) add, secure, hookMem = (water) chaos, blood, mightyAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Hebrew letter ‘yod' is a picture of a hand representing work; the letter ‘mem' is a picture of water. Combined these mean "working water". The sea or other large body of water is the place of storms and heavy surf. Therefore Pharaoh will make the burdens of Elohims People greater than before. Officers = ‘shoterim'; those seem to have been an inferior sort of officers, who attended on superior officers to execute their orders. Have any questions? Some suppose that verse 23 is not a part of the message to Pharaoh, but was spoken by Yahweh to Moses; The meaning of the whole passage seems to be this: The son of Moses, Gershom or Eliezer, (for it does not appear which), had not been circumcised, though it would seem that Yahweh had ordered the father to do it; but as he had neglected this, therefore Yahweh was about to have slain the child, because not in covenant with him by circumcision, and thus he intended to have punished the disobedience of the father by the natural death of his son. Zipporah, getting acquainted with the nature of the case and the danger to which her first-born was exposed, took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son. By this act the displeasure of Yahweh was turned aside, and Zipporah considered herself as now allied to Yahweh because of this circumcision. According to the law, (Gen. 17:14), the uncircumcised child was to be cut off from his people, so that there should be no inheritance for that branch of the family in Israel. Moses therefore, for neglecting to circumcise the child, exposed him to this cutting off, and it was but barely prevented by the prompt obedience of Zipporah. As circumcision was the seal of that justification by faith, which comes through Yahshua Messiah, Moses by neglecting it gave a very bad example, and Yahweh was about to proceed against him with that severity which the law required. Many Jewish commentators seemed to think that Moses became ill. And in this sudden illness of Moses he postpone the circumcision25 Cut off = “kârath” “kaw-rath'” “kaph-resh-thet” “aleph-tav”Kaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tameresh = (head of a Man)front, head, chief, first, top, beginningtet/thet = ( clay basket) surround, contain, mudAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossA cutting off or down of anything. Often used as a cutting of the covenant in the sense that the sacrificial animal is cut in halfCast it at his feet = Showing at once her abhorrence of the rite, and her feeling that by it she had saved her husband's life.A bloody husband = “a husband of blood,” or “bloods.” The meaning is: The marriage bond between us is now sealed by blood. By performing the rite, Zipporah had recovered her husband; his life was purchased for her by the blood of her child.26 So he let him go = Yahweh withdrew His visitation from Moses.Moses sent Zipporah and her children back to Jethro before he went to Egypt, Exod. 18:2. The journey would have been delayed had he waited for the healing of the child.27 mount of Elohim = Horeb. The wilderness is the one between Horeb and Egypt.'Have any questions? In its worst form, the whole skin becomes glossy white, dry and ulcerousKeep in mind this action by Yahweh was to show that He was more powerful than their gods of healing, Bes, Hathor, Sekhmet, and Isis.Bes Dwarf god who guarded against evil spirits and misfortune. Unlike the other Egyptian deities, who were usually depicted in profile, Bes was depicted full face. He was ugly and grotesque in appearance, with a large head, a protruding tongue, bowlegs and a bushy tail.9 the third signand pour it upon the dry land, and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land = by which it would appear how easily Yahweh could destroy the land of Egypt, and make it a barren land, whose fertility was owing to the overflow of the river Nile as a means; Keep in mind this action by Yahweh was to show that He was more powerful then their gods of the rivers, Anuket, Hapi and possibly Sobek.10 not eloquent = not a man of words.Slow of speech = heavy of speech and heavy of tongue. He may have had an actual impediment in his speech. 12 I will be with thy mouth = The Chaldee translates, My Word, meimeri, shall be with thy mouth. This word is very interesting. If you take note that ‘you' is italicized. We see in the Hebrew manuscripts the Hebrew “et”. I also read from The Legends of the Old Testament and Book of The Gods.Verses 1-9 Moses third difficulty: the Israelites may not believe his message from freedomVerses 2-5 the first signVerses 6-8 the second sign1 Why? Because their gods are wiser and more powerful than the Elohim of Moses. Some scholars claim that there is app. 2000 gods in Egyptian myth!2 a rod = Jewish legend has woven marvelous tales around the Rod of Moses. It was probably only a shepherd's crook. What a history, however, awaited it! It was to be stretched out, over the Red Sea, pointing a pathway through its depths; to smite the flinty rock; to win victory over the host of Amalek; to be known as the rod of Yahweh.3 and he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent = not in appearance only, but in reality, it was changed into a real living serpent;Keep in mind that the word for serpent is ‘nachash' meaning ‘shinning one'; it was the symbol of royal and divine power in the diadem worn by Pharaoh. The meaning of this miracle seems to be Pharaoh's own power shall become an instrument of punishment and his enslaved enemy shall triumph.Keep in mind this action by Yahweh was to show that He was more powerful then their serpent gods, Apophis or Apep, Mehen, Nehebkau.Apophis ( Apepi, Apep ) Egyptian snake god and personified darkness, evil and the forces of chaos. Apophis was the eternal enemy of Ra and cosmic order. Each night he did battle with Ra on his journey through the underworld on the barque of the sun, and each night Ra triumphed to be reborn at dawn in the east.Mehen An Egyptian serpent god. He defends the solar barque during Ra's nightly passage through the underworld. Usually shown as a snake coiled about the barque. Nehebkau (Nehebu-Kau, Nehebkhau) Egyptian snake god of the underworld. Represented either as a serpent with human arms and legs or with a man's body, holding the eye of Horus. 4 put forth thy hand = snake charmers usually take hold of snakes by the neck to prevent them biting. It is much more dangerous to seize them by the tail. The living serpent becomes a staff by the will of Yahweh. Pharaoh can be overcome like the serpent.Caught it = ‘khaw-zak'' stiffened it. Same word as ‘hardened' Pharaoh's heart.5 Signifying that He is not the Yahweh of the dead, but of the Living. Keep in mind that the Egyptians were probably aware of the works of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This was to remind the Egyptians of the power of the Hebrew Yahweh over their gods of Egypt. I also read from The Legends of the Old Testament and Book of The Gods18 the Yahweh Elohim of the Hebrews = as distinct from the gods of the Egyptianand now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness = the wilderness of Sinai and Arabia, and to Mount Horeb in it20 And I will stretch out my hand = “shâlach” “shaw-lakh'” “shin-lamed-chet” “Aleph-Tav”Shin =(two front teeth) sharp, press, eat twoLamed = lamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindChet = (tent wall) outside, divide halfAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossBy Elohim stretching forth His hand with that Shepards staff, we see the sharpness of His power, dividing the bondage of the Egyptians and His people Elohim is always in controlSmite = “nâkâh” “naw-kaw'” “nun-kaph-hey) (Aleph-Tav)Nun = (seed) continue, heir, sonKaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tamehey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Hebrew letter ‘nun' is a picture of a seed, whereas ‘kaph' is a picture of the palm of the hand. Combined these mean "seed in the palm". Seeds of certain plants were placed in the palm and rubbed with the thumb to a powdery spice. Therefore we have Elohim destroying the seed of Egypt21 People = “‛am” “am” “ayin-mem” “aleph-tav”Ayin = (eye) watch, know, shade (this letter is basically silent) Mem = (water) chaos, blood, mightyAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe letter ‘ayin' is a picture of the eye, the letter ‘mem' is a picture of the sea representing mass. Combined these mean "see a mass". A large group of people in one location. When you look at the several meaning of these Hebrew letters, what I find unique here is that Elohim uses chaos against the Egyptian gods, the Passover blood and the fact that He leads His people through the Nile River22 Every woman shall borrow = This is certainly not a very correct translation: the original word ‘shaal' signifies simply to ask, request, demand, require, inquire, etc.;Ye shall spoil the Egyptians = The verb ‘natsal' signifies, not only to spoil, snatch away, but also to get away, to escape, to deliver, to regain, or recover. Spoil signifies what is taken by violence; but this cannot be the meaning of the original word here, as the Israelites only asked, and the Egyptians without fear, terror, or constraint, freely gave “nun-tsade-lamed” “Aleph-tav”Nun = (seed) continue, heir, sonTsade = (trail) journey, chase, hunt, man on his sideLamed = lamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossOnly by the power of Elohim, were the Israelites able to do thisHave any questions? (Deut. 18:17-18,).Let's begin our study in Exodus Chapter 3 Verses 11-17Moses First Difficulty: He is Unsuited for His Mission11 who am I = How different was Moses attitude in his youth! With age, Moses can only think of his own unfitness for the gigantic undertaking.Moses' Second Difficulty: The ‘NAME' of Yahweh13 when I come = i.e. assuming that I come14 I AM THAT I AM = “Ehyeh asher ehyeh” the self existent and eternal Yahweh;"hâyâh” “haw-yaw'” “'ăsher” “ash-er'” "hâyâh” “haw-yaw'”hey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathYod = (arm and closed hand) work, throw, worshiphey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph= (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderShin =(two front teeth) sharp, press, eat tworesh = (head of a Man)front, head, chief, first, top, beginningI AM = ‘ehyeh” I will be [speaking of Himself]15 The Lord = This is the translation of the Divine Name written in the four Hebrew letters ‘YHWH' and is pronounced ‘Yahweh'. This Divine Name of four letters – the Tetragammaton – come from the same Hebrew root (hayah) as ‘Ehyeh; to ‘to be'. It gives the expression to the fact that He was, He is and He ever will be. [compare to Rev. 1:8 where it reads, ‘I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.']16 and gather = “'âsaph” “aw-saf'” Here we have “aleph-samech-pey” “Aleph-Tav”Aleph= (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderSamech = (thorn) grab, hate protectPey = (mouth) blow, scatter, edge Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe thorn represents a turning, whereas the letter ‘pey' is a picture of a mouth. Combined these mean "turning mouth". The rim, or lips of the bowl, which circle around it. The bowl is used for gathering things together and for eating. Wherefore Moses (being a strong leader) is instructed by Elohim (aleph-tav) and gather up the elders and speak the words of Elohim to lead the people out of bondage (thorns)17 I will bring you up = “‛âlâh” “aw-law'” “aleph-lamed-hey” Aleph-Tav”Aleph= (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderlamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindhey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe lifting of the yoke onto the shoulder. One taken into exile is placed in the yoke for transport and the yoke of bondage. It was a common practice to strip the clothes off of those taken into exile. So we see that that it is Elohim that will do the actually lifting and taking off that yoke of bondage, even though Moses is leading the people.Have any questions? Exodus 7:14-10:29. In sending the plagues to the Egyptians, God demonstrates his power over the idols of Egypt.
In this study we will take a look at the miracles that Yahweh performed on the Egyptians, when Israel was held in bondage, during this period in Exodus. We will see that those miracles were against the Egyptian deities or gods that they worshipped.I will begin with a short introduction and then get into Exodus (Greek “The way out or going out”) Chapter 3 verse 1 and 2The story of Moses is not just the story of the freedom of a group of slaves from Egypt in the second millennium BCE. It is the blueprint of the Plan of Salvation of the world as seen from the structure laid down in the Bible.Let's begin our study in Exodus Chapter 3 Verses 3-103 great = ‘gadol'. Allow me to show you something that is lost in our English Bibles. In the Hebrew texts we see the word “at/et”, which the letter is ‘aleph and tav'. In the beginning (or Bereshith), there was a Word that sat right next to Elsohim and was an active part of Creatiuon. The rabbis understood the divine nature of the Torah and believed, since it was dictated directly from the mouth of Elohim, that every word and its placement within Scripture held signifcant meaning. In Hebrew, this word was the Aleph-Tav. In Greek, it would have been represented as the Alpha-Omega.Aleph = strength, strong, power, leaderTav = sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Aleph-Tav is the strength of the covenant of the cross. Only Yahshua Messiah can make that Claim!!!!!!!!!The Aleph-Tav is found throughout the Old Testament. What is intriguing to me is the placement of the Aleph-Tav in key Old Testament Scriptures. Here are just a couple of examples. So let's break down the Hebrew word for great, ‘gadol'. In the Hebrew we have the letters ‘g-d-l.G = gamel – (foot) gather, walkD = dalet – (tent door) move, hang, entrance L = lamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindA = Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderT = Tav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossSo when add up all these letters we get the meaning, “We see the King of Kings (shepherd staff – strong power, leader) standing (foot) within this burning bush, opening the door for Moses to lead His people from bondage.” 7 In this verse 7 we have 2 instances of the ‘et', ‘I have surely seen and I know'surely seen = from this mountain top? The Hebrew word is ‘raah' r-a-h'resh = (head of a Man)front, head, chief, first, top, beginningaleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderhey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossTherefore we have with the 4 letters ‘resh, aleph, aleph, and tav' none other than Elohim, Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah telling Moses that as He looks through that window of space He is revealing (hey) the bondage of His people.I know = ‘yada' ‘yod – dalet- ayin' ‘aleph tav'Yod = (arm and closed hand) work, throw, worshopDalet = (tent door) move, hang, entranceAyin = (eye) watch, know, shade (this letter is basically silent) Aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossWhat we have here is knowledge. The dalet is a picture of a door. The ayin is a picture of the eye. Through the eyes one experiences his world and learns from it. Combined these pictures mean "the door of the eye". The eye is the window into the man's very being, of course this man is Elohim, for He sees all. Experience is gained through visual observation. Knowledge is achieved through these experiences.Have any questions? Feel free to email me at keitner@netzero.net
It is the blueprint of the Plan of Salvation of the world as seen from the structure laid down in the Bible. 18:17-18,).Let's begin our study in Exodus Chapter 3Moses' Life as the PlanThe Plan of Salvation is depicted from the circumstances of Moses' birth and the stages of his life. Moses' life was divided into three stages of 40 years. He lived to 120 years of age (Deut. 34:7).The first forty years were spent in Egypt. The second forty were spent in Midian as a shepherd (Acts 7:29); and the last forty were spent in the wilderness. The symbolism of the three forty-year sequences can only be understood from the Jubilee system and the Sacred Calendar. We learn that Moses was born to the tribe of Levi (Ex. 2:1-3). He was hidden three months and then cast onto the river. The story is well known. The cradle was guarded by Miriam until found by Pharaoh's daughter, who raised Moses as her son (Ex. 2:5-10). This action replaces the story of Horus saved by Buto from the floating island of Chemmis. Buto was god of Pe-Tep, therefore one of the ten sacred local deities of EgyptAccording to Josephus (A of J, Bk. II, Ch. X), Moses became General of the Egyptian army in the major war against the Ethiopians. They had invaded as far as Memphis. The Egyptian Oracles stated that Moses was to deliver them and Pharaoh ordered his daughter to deliver him up to lead the army. Irenaeus quotes this tradition in his fragment. Acts 7:22 probably refer to this history. Moses married the daughter of the Ethiopian king, who became attracted to him, and the principal city was delivered up to him. Thus he was educated in the knowledge and military structure of Egypt that he might be prepared to marshal Israel and lead them in the wilderness. Thus Elohim prepared a man and raised him by means of the world system to deliver men out of that system.1 Jethro= (his excellence). Jethro was priest, or prince of Midian. Moses married his daughter Zipporah. On account of his local knowledge, he was entreated to remain, with the Israelites throughout their journey to Canaan. Num. 10:31; 33. Midian = ("strife".) Abraham's son by Keturah (Gen. 25:2).Mountain of Elohim = so named either according to Hebrew idiom from its great height, as “great mountains,” Hebrew, “mountains of Elohim” (Psa. 36:6); “goodly cedars,” Hebrew, “cedars of Elohim” (Psa. 80:10);Horeb = ("dry, dried up".) was the general name for the mountainous district in which Sinai is situated, and of which it is a part.2 Angel of the Lord = Yahweh Himself! In the Hebrew ‘angel' mal-awk' From an unused root meaning to despatch as a deputy; a messenger; specifically of Elohim, that is, an angel (also a prophet, priest or teacher): - ambassador, angel, king, messenger.Have any questions? One time I was studying through the book of Exodus and I had this thought: Did God love the Egyptians? It's a question you've probably never really thought much about before. So, in Exodus, this is the story of the Egyptians who enslaved the Israelites and wouldn't let them go. They were forced to work all day under grueling conditions in the desert, building whatever Pharaoh wanted for his cities. And for centuries, pharaoh after pharaoh wouldn't let them leave. So, they're clearly the bad guys in this story. Then God sends a deliverer named Moses out of the wilderness to come and set these people free, and the rest is history- and a really epic four-hour Charlton Heston movie from 1956. And it's rated G even though it's kinda scary for a G-rated movie. But you've got the water turning to blood and mass killing from a death angel and later drowning. And according to IMDB, there's some canoodling between lovers. I'm not sure what that's referring to. I'm not even sure what canoodling is, but it sure doesn't sound G-rated to me. Then again, the Bible is not a G-rated book. Speaking of IMDB, let me look here at how it rates the agro-appropriateness of movies: violence and gore? Yes. Alcohol? Yes. Frightening and intense scenes? Yes. Profanity? That's debatable but if you read the King James Version, you're going to find a few words that I sure wasn't allowed to say growing up. Oh, and sex and nudity? Well, if you read Song of Solomon, there's definitely some canoodling going on. The Bible is a book of violence, destruction, depression, fear, wrath- and a God who loves all of humanity on every page. But it's a little easy to lose sight of that fact as you read about the mass destruction that God visits upon people throughout His Word- including on the Egyptians in Exodus. And this can cause us to question: even when God judges people, does He still love them?Let's go back to my original question: Did God love the Egyptians? I have a theory about this, and I'd like to share it today on the Cross References podcast. The Cross References Podcast with Luke Taylor: Episode 1140:00 - Why Jesus was Sometimes Harsh7:20 - The 10 Plagues28:00 - Did God Love the Egyptians?Description:In this captivating episode of the Cross References podcast, host Luke Taylor delves deep into the biblical narrative of Exodus, exploring the intriguing question: Did God love the Egyptians? Just as the sun rises and sets, another Sinister Six cycle comes to an end. Today's pick is none other than Gods of Egypt, a goofy, controversial, and extremely forgettable flick from 2016. In a (very) fictionalized version of Ancient Egypt, the god Horus is blinded and usurped by his uncle Set. A young thief named Beck steals back one of Horus's eyes back in hopes of ending Set's tyranny. In the process, Beck's lover Zaya is killed. With his sight partially restored, Horus enlists Beck's help in destroying the source of Set's power. In return, the exiled god will restore Zaya to life. In their journey across Egypt, Beck and Horus are joined by the gods Hathor and Thoth. We should also mention that some of these gods have CGI Saint Seiya armor and bejeweled organs. And Geoffrey Rush gets to fight a giant worm. Is there a moral to this story? Not really. Maybe something about lettuce? We don't know. Welcome back to Not A Bomb podcast! This is the show where we re-examine some of the biggest bombs in cinematic history and see if they deserve a second chance. In this episode, we discuss a film with nine-foot Egyptian Gods played by generic white people who bleed gold and turn into Voltron-like robots. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Our little podcast finally tackles 2016's fantasy action film - Gods of Egypt. This one…well…is a head-scratcher. For one, it's directed by Alex Proyas, an individual responsible for classics such as The Crow and Dark City. But he has Knowing in his filmography. Secondly, the film is penned by the duo known for Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, and Morbius. Not really a winning combination. Maybe against all odds, this one will be something watchable…right, right? Download and find out! Gods of Egypt is directed by Alex Proyas and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Gerard Butler, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Rufus Sewell, and Geoffrey Rush.If you want to leave feedback or suggest a movie bomb, please drop us a line at NotABombPod@gmail.com or Contact Us - here. Is there any reality to the gods of Egypt? How could there be?
2016's Gods of Egypt was meant to be a significant franchise starter for Lionsgate, mixing Egyptian mythology and fantasy in a way that should have been explosive but landed with a thud. Director Alex Proyas, who directed a few seminal classics, including The Crow and Dark City, did his best to deliver an exciting fantasy film. Still, critics were savage, and audiences stayed away. In the end, it lost an estimated $90 million, despite the presence of Gerard Butler and Game of Thrones' favorite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Is it as bad as people remember? Weird accents, human ranch dressing, and eyeballs, oh my! Shaun Duke, Alex Acks, and Becca Evans join forces to take down Gods of Egypt (2016). Together, they get thirsty over Gerard Butler, discuss Egyptian mythology and bodily fluids, and generally have a merry time trying to make sense of this ridiculous movie. Thanks for listening. […]

March 28-April 3 Scot and Maurine Proctor are joined today by Daniel C. Peterson, retired professor of Islamic Studies and leader of the Middle Eastern texts project at Brigham Young University. In Egypt, there are more gods than you can count, and Jehovah makes it clear that not only is He God, but He is the only one who can deliver the covenant people out of bondage. Moses is gradually transformed from one who quakes to think of going before Pharoah to one who has the spiritual strength to lead an enormous group of people into a barren desert and part the Red Sea, with confidence that God is with him.
