Send us a Text Message. Can Vin Diesel's immortal witch hunter really save the day, or is the plot just as cursed? Join us as we kick off with a hilarious yet critical review of "The Last Witch Hunter." We uncover everything from the witch queen's outrageous claims about the Black Plague to the puzzling presence of her immortal heart. Elijah Wood's mysterious character and the possibility of a sequel also come under our comedic scrutiny as we explore the deep historical roots of the witch cult.Next, imagine a world where Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta, and Vince Vaughn join forces, with cameos by Snoop Dogg and Kurt Angle. That's right—we're casting our dream movie and debating the impact of iconic actors like Ian McShane and Wesley Snipes as members of a more formidable witch council. Reminiscing about Jack Nicholson playing the devil in an 80s classic, we ponder how elements from "What We Do in the Shadows" could spice things up. Finally, we take a nostalgic trip back to 1987 with "The Witches of Eastwick," celebrating Jack Nicholson's devilish charm. Our spirited discussion covers everything from lackluster fight scenes to the unique powers of witches, while humorously questioning plot twists and character motivations. We even imagine how the film might have been better received in the 90s, wrapping up with a longing for more fun and humor in the fantasy genre. Tune in for a candid and entertaining critique that leaves no spell unbroken.Be sure to hit like if you like this podcast. Welcome back to Not A Bomb podcast! This is the show where we re-examine some of the biggest bombs in cinematic history and see if they deserve a second chance. In this episode, we discuss a film with nine-foot Egyptian Gods played by generic white people who bleed gold and turn into Voltron-like robots. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Our little podcast finally tackles 2016's fantasy action film - Gods of Egypt. This one…well…is a head-scratcher. For one, it's directed by Alex Proyas, an individual responsible for classics such as The Crow and Dark City. But he has Knowing in his filmography. Secondly, the film is penned by the duo known for Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, and Morbius. Not really a winning combination. Maybe against all odds, this one will be something watchable…right, right? Download and find out! Gods of Egypt is directed by Alex Proyas and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Gerard Butler, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Rufus Sewell, and Geoffrey Rush.If you want to leave feedback or suggest a movie bomb, please drop us a line at NotABombPod@gmail.com or Contact Us - here. Also, if you like what you hear, leave a review on Apple Podcast or wherever you listen to the show.Cast: Brad, Troy
– In dieser Folge sucht Dr. Horror Antworten an überraschender Stelle, nämlich im Horror-Action-Blockbuster „The Last Witch Hunter“.

There's nothing more important than Family... except for Witches. Witches are important and they gotta go. At least that's Vin Diesel's outlook in this Dungeons and Dragons inspired urban fantasy. This week on The CineMEH Podcast, Josh and Ryan are discussing The Last Witch Hunter, a blink and you missed it entry in the pantheon of gritty, city-centered fantasy films. With a villain turn from Elijah Wood, and a bewitching performance by Rose Leslie, this movie is almost... well, something more than just a movie. And that's our ringing endorsement on this one. It's a movie. Yep. No, but seriously, we have some fun with it. The Last Witch Hunter was released in 2015 and stars Vin Diesel, Michael Caine, Elijah Wood, and Rose Leslie

Vin Diesel may have devoted the entire Riddick franchise dedicated to his D&D fandom, but that wasn't enough. No, we needed The Last Witch Hunter, too, and we're better off for it. Joining us to talk about the "dorky, but not full dork" on display is Mark Hofmeyer (Movies, Films & Flix). We discuss would-be sequels to The Last Witch Hunter, Vin Diesel (once again!) as a non-detective detective, and the mind-blowing component to this movie's story. We talk about how Kaulder is an interesting non-morose hero, the weird swings this movie takes to make its storytelling job more difficult, and how Vin is like Keanu Reeves. We find Mark's "cinematic positivity" weaknesses, argue about gummy bear brands, and hear Mark's predictions for Fast X. After Vin Diesel's full return to the Fast & Furious franchise in 2009 steered the series back on track (see what we did there?), he once again enjoyed the sort of clout he hadn't seen since early in his career. He utilized this clout to indulge in some of his "nerdier" sci-fi and fantasy interests. First, by bringing back his beloved Riddick character for a third film. And then, in 2015, by trying to start up a brand-new franchise loosely based on the original character he had created for his own real-life Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. But do audiences want to see Diesel battle witches, warlocks, and monsters as much as they want to see him drive fast cars? "No-VIN-ber" continues with our look at The Last Witch Hunter. We kick off the much beloved creepy season with The Last Witch Hunter, which is one of our favorite spooky fantasy movies, so we are happy to finally cover this witchy modern classic! Not only is it a great murder mystery with witches and their hunters (like people who hunt them, not people who hunt for them), but it also features a great, cheesy apocalypse averting ending, which is way overblown, but we are here for all of it! So is the last witch hunter, Kaulder, a fascist cop, a righteous savior, or a suave detective? Well, we figure it all depends on the way you design your D&D character, right? (Because Vin Diesel is a D&D nerd, like us.)(intro skit sounds from Zapsplat.com, and music from audiohero.com)

In 2021, three podcasters went into a Zoom chat and were never seen again. The recordings of that meeting, believed lost, were recently recovered, and it became clear that they were talking about the 1999 phenomenon that was “The Blair Witch Project”. A film with more arguing than the last time we covered an Argento movie; featuring more snot than a classroom of toddlers in winter; and certainly the first film we've all seen shot on handheld cameras, featuring 1 girl and 2 guys alone in the woods, that was rated 15. Along the way we discuss “The Squid Game”, “Boys From County Hell”, “Foundation”, “The Green Knight”, “The Lords of Salem”, “Altered”, “The Last Witch Hunter” and “Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2”. "People shouldn't root around in their past. Some things are best left forgotten." In honor of Mr. Diesel's new Fast & Furious film release, this week we're going to talk about his attempt at bringing his Dungeons & Dragons character to the big screen! We'll discuss the disaster of a script, the career of Mr. Diesel himself, and Brett's complete heartbreak over how good this movie could have been.
A lil something for the fantasy nerds! This movie has everything - witchcraft, medieval times, Catholicism, Elijah Wood in a turtleneck. And a special guest appearance by Michael Caine's rotting corpse!
Vin Diesel plays an immortal viking. Frodo of the Shire is a priest. Jon Snow's dead girlfriend plays a witch. It's surprisingly decent? What do I know, I just type the descriptions.
Black mouth slushies, revenge of the junk folder, ways to get removed from an airplane, deaths design and The Last Witch Hunter!

I chat with music producer AG about her approach to music production, as well as overcoming some of the issues we face as women in any industry. AG is a triple threat She has been producing, songwriting and engineering music since the age of 15. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, AG relocated to Los Angeles and began to make her mark as one of the few female producers in the industry. Her unique blend of diverse musical influences include M83, Peter Gabriel and PJ Harvey, has led to extensive network TV exposure, popular television commercials, and feature films. Most recently, AG produced Ciara's cover of the Rolling Stones' “Paint It Black” for Lionsgate's new vampire killer movie The Last Witch Hunter. Rolling Stone Magazine describes the song as, “a syrupy, mesmerizing slow-burner.” AG's music has been featured in countless TV shows and feature films including Pretty Little Liars, The Leftovers, Grey's Anatomy, and Gossip Girl. To learn more about AG, visit her website byaginc.com. My biggest takeaways from this conversation were not so much about making music as they were about some of the universal challenges that we face as women. Things like feeling like you need to be overqualified for a job before you actually think you can do it. We talk specifically about how she conquered that BS that we tell ourselves. Listen to Paint it Black

As Halloween fast approaches, Matthew Sweet is joined round the Free Thinking cauldron by guests including Marina Warner and Suzannah Lipscomb to consider the season of the witch. Film critic Larushka Ivan-zadeh and Claire Nally from Northumbria University review new blockbuster The Last Witch Hunter starring Vin Diesel, and consider the depictions of witches on film ahead of a screening of Vincent Price's 1968 horror classic Witchfinder General. Catherine Spooner of Lancaster University and historian Suzzanah Lipscomb offer an historical guide to the famous witch trials from Pendle to Salem. And author Marina Warner discusses her father's relationship with the ghost writer M.R. James.
I almost don't even want to write a description for this episode. In fact, I'd rather talk about something else. Did you know that Vin Diesel's movie The Last Witch Hunter (15%, rated just behind The Pacifier) isn't actually his worst reviewed flop? According to RottenTomatoes, Babylon A.D. takes the cake at 6%. See Vin? It's all uphill from there! What a neat fact.
Noah and Daren share their thoughts on “The Last Witch Hunter”, and this time, roles are reversed and opinions are mixed. What did YOU think of “The Last Witch Hunter”? Call 602-635-6976 and leave your own comment with Slice of SciFi
This week's Movie Date podcast includes a very special radio play acted out by Rafer, Kristen, Sean Rameswaram (of the late, great "Sideshow" podcast), and Katie Bishop (of "Death, Sex & Money"). It's all in honor of the new film "Jem and the Holograms." Rafer and Kristen also review this week's two spooky Halloween offerings, as well as the film that Rafer calls "the worst movie of the year." Rest assured, they also review "one of the 100 greatest movies ever made," according to Kristen. Guess which is which: "The Last Witch Hunter," "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension," "Rock the Kasbah," and "Room."
Daniel Craig & Naomie Harris interview at 09.27, Vin Diesel interview at 24.40.
LaF is back with their weekly Weekend Entertainment Edition (or Wee LaF). The fellas are ready to let you know what is worth watching at the movies theater for the October 23 weekend. The box office is packed with four new movies in wide release. First, is Steve Jobs starring Michael Fassbender as the the founder of Apple. The film has one of the guys very excited about it chances at winning some awards in February. For lovers of all things 80s, Jem and Holograms is the live-action version of the hit 1985 cartoon of the same name. The director Jon M. Chu already has had success updating 80's cartoons when he directed 2013's G.I. Joe: Retaliation, so the guys weigh in on whether his newest film is going to be another hit. Halloween horror fans have two options this weekend. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is the sixth and (supposed) final film in the series. The L-Train lets you know if this series will stay dead. Lastly, Vin Diesel stars in The Last Witch Hunter in another attempt to have a successful action film that is not centered around driving cars fast. Mr. Two-Frames explains why he would call this film Constantine 2.
Jesse, Madrid, Alex and Sergio talk about Mars images, Sony's movie list (Underworld, Dark Tower, Jumanji, Ghostbusters, Bad Boys 3 & 4 and more), Deadpool, The Last Witch Hunter, Hitman: Agent 47, The Flash, Gotham and more!
