On the auspicious occasion of Nāga Pañcamī, the sacred day for worshipping dragons, I was inspired to give a slightly more dynamic and comparative talk this time compared to our talk last year (Snakes, Dragons & Nāgas in Tantra) which focused more on the āvatāras of the nāgas (Patañjalī, Abhinavagupta etc.). In this second talk on the subject, we explored the concept of the Dragon (a more literal reading of Nāga) as a personification of wildness and primordial chaos, tracking the idea in the Campbellian Hero's Journey (to make an exciting claim about merging the princess, a symbol for the lost anima with the dragon, which also symbolizes both the shadow and the anima, to use Jungian terms) with comparisons to Tiamat from Mesopotamian myth, Apep or Apopohis/Typhon in the Ancient Egyptian tradition and of course tracing it into its corollaries in the Vedic/Hindu world with reference to Indra's battle with Vrtta, the earliest "dragon" to appear in the tradition. I make an exciting claim comparing Patañjali, the Serpent (whose name literally means "fallen offering", or rather, "fallen angel) to Lucifer in the Garden of Eden and an even more exciting claim about why we should not try to slay the dragon, but rather learn from Her and even become Her. If (this mantra) is recited always, especially in the morning and in the evening, all poisons and fear will be destroyed and one becomes victorious everywhere!” If you can, feed some snakes today with hard boiled eggs and milk! That is to say: leave out a bowl of milk and a hard boiled egg under a tree somewhere! BEST OF: The Ides of March Blood Moon, which was accompanied by a Falcon 9 rocket launch, is a powerful omen. Blood Moons are symbolic of birth and death and the Ides of March remind us of Julius Caesar's assassination - the fall of a king - and his replacement by Octavian-August-Caesar who ushered in Pax Roman, or the Golden Age. The Falcon 9 rocket, surprisingly, has powerful connections to Julius as well: as a leader, he was compared by historians to the falcon, and as a strong pagan leader is considered one of the 9 worthies. The company behind the rocket is Musk's Space X and the organization that launched it is the same NASA that used the 2024 solar eclipse to perform an Egyptian ritual that they named after the sun devourer Apep. In the news we have seen Musk's other company, Tesla, undergo acts of vandalism and threats by extremists on the political left, thought this is a minority. The majority still keep their electric cars. On the other side, now the political right is buying these cars to support Musk, who wants to use AI to run the government. This comes amidst exposure that, according to the Economic Times, “All available Biden-signed documents were checked by The Oversight Project, which revealed that every signature, except the withdrawal from the 2024 presidential candidacy, was produced by autopen technology.” In other words, the exposure of machines doing all the work will lead to more machines doing more of the work - including using AI for military decisions, visa revocation, firings, and healthcare. Technocracy is the great reset - electric cars, regional unions, a cashless society, AI driven everything -, the great replacement of the republic which, unlike Rome, will be usurped not by the necessary evil of Augustus, but by programmed emperors that operate under the fallacy of computer-perfection. This comes amidst exposure that, according to the Economic Times, “All available Biden-signed documents were checked by The Oversight Project, which revealed that every signature, except the withdrawal from the 2024 presidential candidacy, was produced by autopen technology.” In other words, the exposure of machines doing all the work will lead to more machines doing more of the work - including using AI for military decisions, visa revocation, firings, and healthcare. Technocracy is the great reset - electric cars, regional unions, a cashless society, AI driven everything -, the great replacement of the republic which, unlike Rome, will be usurped not by the necessary evil of Augustus, but by programmed emperors that operate under the fallacy of computer-perfection. Mercury has joined six other planets in the sky to form the return of the gods alignment. These 7 gods, famously named after Roman deities, indicate a renewal at the start of a golden age. Mercury, as messenger, has brought news of the Abraxas-Kekian golden age below to that which is above. From now until 2032 there is a window of seven years promising us peace and prosperity that will be intercepted in 2029 by the asteroid Apophis (Apep) with a destination of 99942. It's unlikely the object will physically impact earth but its presence alone, like comets that signify the end of ages, empires, and health, is enough to consider its implications. It is Apep who attempts to consume the solar barge of RA, which is the daily golden age provided to man. The golden sun and wheat nourish our bodies and minds, but when it is consumed we starve. The Pax Romana, or Golden Age of Octavian, followed the fall of the Roman Republic under Julius Caesar, and the beginning of empire. The period of peace and gold promised will exist temporally until judgement is issued from above. The rapture of ecstasy for Abraxas will be met with tribulation and chaos. Other portents are also powerful omens of what is brewing: March 14, which marks the death of Julius by assassination, is the evaluation day of the new US White House, the deadline for government shutdown, and the day of a lunar eclipse and blood moon. Coupled with these facts are m'ore doomsday fish', suggesting a massive earthquake is soon to strike, March being the month of solar storms, and March 20th, Ostara, being the spring equinox. All of this indicates birth, rebirth, or resurrection, harvest, reflection, and purification. The bloody veil of the moon is the veil of Isis, and when removed symbolizes the naked Diana. Is the total eclipse a sign from God or the Dragon Kings?

In the mythology of ancient Egypt, Apep was the serpent god — the rival of Re, the sun god. He chased Re, and sometimes briefly caught him — creating a solar eclipse. NASA plans to launch an experiment named for the serpent god to study the eclipse on Monday. Instruments will fly on three different rockets. They won't look at the Sun, though. Instead, they'll study the effect of the eclipse on the ionosphere — a high-altitude layer of Earth's atmosphere. The ionosphere carries an electric charge. It “bends” radio waves, allowing them to travel far around the planet. During the day, sunlight intensifies the charge. At night, the charge lessens. Scientists want to understand how the ionosphere reacts to the brief loss of sunlight during an eclipse. That should tell them more about the ionosphere overall, and how it changes during the day. Among other ways, they'll do so by launching Apep. Three small rockets will take flight from a NASA center in Virginia. The rockets will climb about 200 miles high. They'll deploy several instruments, which will make observations for seven or eight minutes. Then they'll parachute back to Earth. The same instruments flew during last year's annular eclipse, when the Moon didn't fully cover the Sun. This year's flights will allow scientists to compare the results — learning more about how Earth's atmosphere reacts when the Sun grows darker. More about the eclipse tomorrow.

NASAs plan to fire three missiles at the sun and moon during the April 8 eclipse is not merely in synch with Egyptian mythology, considering they officially named the program Apep after the serpent ouroboros, but is itself an ancient ritual. Apep-Apophis is the personification of a solar eclipse and to maintain order during this chaotic moment, rituals against the serpent were carried out in support of the sun god. To protect RA and his boat-barge-chariot, common people and priests  tried to untangle the sun from the binding of Apep, or Apophis, a story similar to Osiris and his chest being grabbed by a tamarisk tree. In one story a spear or projectile pierces the snake and saved the sun. It won't be lost on some the relationship that a bound barge shares with recent ship incidents, including two that struck bridge pillars, which themselves can certainly be related to supports for the sky too. When the pillars collapse the night falls, and when Francis Scott Key falls so too does the Star Spangled Banner. Right before the boat incidents, on March 25, the Worm Moon was also in the sky. Alternatively called Crow Moon, a portent of bad luck, the "worm" has always symbolized serpents and dragons. And 2024 is the year of the dragon. Meanwhile, CERN has been under test with experiments slated for April 8 and 10, among other dates. CERNs spokesperson-god is shiva, the necessary evil or destroyer, another name for Apep-Apophis and Saturn. Strangely, NASA  just announced a snake robot they plan to send on a mission to one of Saturn's moons. As millions watch the eclipse, the Devil Comet will also be seen streaking across the sky. It is not only the beginning of April, the burning season, but a time of omens and portents, the fall of flags, countries, kings, and civilizations. Synopsis Ok, if you say, “band music,” most people think “marching bands – sporting events.”  So if someone tells you there is a band work entitled Ra – you might automatically respond: “sis-boom-ba.”  But that's not at all what composer David Dzubay had in mind.  He was thinking of RA, the ancient Egyptian sun god. A major figure in Egyptian mythology, the sun god Ra was born anew each day and journeyed across the sky doing battle with his chief enemy, a serpent named Apep.David Dzubay's band composition named Ra is, as he describes it, “a rather aggressive depiction of an imagined ritual of sun worship, perhaps celebrating the daily battles of Ra and Apep.” Originally written for orchestra, Dzubay arranged his piece for concert band, and in this incarnation, it won an annual competition for new bands works.  Ra was first performed by the Indiana University Symphonic Band, led by Ray Cramer at the College Band Directors' National Convention in Minneapolis on today's date in 2003.  Both the venue and the performers selected for that premiere must have seemed particularly gratifying to Dzubay, since he was born in Minneapolis and received his Doctorate in Music at Indiana University.
