"What do you do when you are unable to change the difficult situation you're in? Even if you can't change the circumstance, you are not a victim. Instead, you are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be victorious in the midst of your hard season." (Karen Harmon)  Karen's Kairos Moment: Karen's pastor CHALLENGED her to praise God FOR the hard season she was in. It felt like lip service, and it felt ridiculous to say out loud; however, the more she did, the more it took root and became her reality.  If we truly believe what Romans 8:28 says about all things working together for our good, then we can praise Him FOR the hardship and not just praise Him for the victory coming on the other side. God will use the situation as one of the steps to get you to the ultimate victory. She began to declare, “God, I praise you for this hip fracture! I know at the end of this, it will be for Your glory and for my good. I may not see it now, but I know You have victory on the other side of this obedience.” QUOTE: “The chains started to break when I started to praise.” (Karen) Karen's perspective changed as she began to see who God is instead of focusing on her pain. She decided to do what she could instead of focusing on what she couldn't (mentoring, writing, etc). So often, we want a quick fix or a checklist, but Karen says we put so much value in the final destination, but the beauty lies in the journey. I despise the message, “You are enough.” Because YOU'RE NOT, but He is MORE THAN ENOUGH. By aligning ourselves with that mantra, when we go through these hardships, we beat ourselves up. “If I'm enough, then why can't I do this? Why can't I conquer this? QUOTE: “YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO! He was meant to do that IN you, FOR you, and THROUGH you.” Shift your focus from wanting to be enough to: “God, you are more than enough!”

Welcome to season 2 of the Determined to Dance podcast. I pray that you'll be uplifted, encouraged, and will move forward each and every day. Today's episode, Praying in the Spirit, focuses on prayer and the Holy Spirit. Show Notes: Praying in the Spirit After thirty-seven episodes of prayer, you have probably figured out that I love to pray. To talk to God about anything and everything. He is truly the only one who totally “gets” me: my quirks, my weirdness, my pain, my joy. I don't know how I would get through one day without talking to my Father. I found through my study that the term “Praying in the Spirit” means a lot of different things to different people. Especially among various denominations. In Ephesians 6:18, Paul says: “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” NLT Jacob Gregory said, “No human can pray without divine help.” I agree that we can do nothing in and of ourselves. We need God every second of every day. Praying in the Spirit is basically God enabling us to pray through His Spirit. I found three ways to pray in the Word: In your native language. In a spiritual language. In groanings too deep to utter. Here are scriptures I found to support this: “Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.” Romans 12: 10-13 NKJV “Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit, and I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand.” I Corinthians 14:15 NLT “Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26 NKJV “Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy and do not forbid to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order.” I Corinthians 14: 39-40 NKJV My times in prayer are deeply personal and uplifting to me. I want to be as close to God as possible while on this earth and look forward to an eternity spent with Him. I don't understand life as much as I would like to but I know God loves me and is even pleased with me. Years ago, I thought of God more as a judge than a Father. I know now that He is both and his judgment is tempered with mercy. I really can't wait until the day when we will really know Him: “For now, we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” I Corinthians 13:12 NKJV I'll leave you with this thought. When comparing prayer in one's native language or a prayer language, Jack Hayford says, “Each form of prayer is at a different dimension, and neither should be described as “less than.” How can the Grand Canyon and the Swiss Alps be compared? It's impossible and unnecessary to do so. Rather, be it languages we employ or creation we behold, let us all be humbled before all manifestations of His Majesty's glory. Let us rise together to praise the Creator of all prayer as readily as we worship the Creator of all things. To do so is to be open to experiencing the enjoyment and the blessing available in exploring the dimensions to which each realm invites us.” From The Beauty of Spiritual Language. Let's pray: Father God, we thank You for the Holy Spirit and the gifts He bestows on Your children. We love talking and singing to You in all ways and forms. You are good and love each of us as individuals, and that is amazing. We are never a number but are chosen, accepted, and deeply loved. You are awesome beyond words. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen.

480 The Lord Sends His Goodness in the Daytime and His Song at Night, O My Soul, A Guided Christian Meditation on Psalms 42:8-11 with the Recenter With Christ app  I'm Chaplain Jared and I work as a hospice chaplain and an ICU chaplain. My purpose in making this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and to be more open for your heart to be changed by the Spirit of God.  By using centuries old form of Christian Meditation named Lectio Divina: Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing.  If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.   Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:   Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Bible verses for Meditation: Psalms 42 ESV By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,     and at night his song is with me,     a prayer to the God of my life. 9 I say to God, my rock:     “Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning     because of the oppression of the enemy?” 10 As with a deadly wound in my bones,     my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me all the day long,     “Where is your God?” 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul,     and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,     my salvation and my God. NASB 8 The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life. 9 I will say to God my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” 10 As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries taunt me, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” 11 Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God. Meditation: God makes his blessings and goodness available at all times. Yet at times we may feel that He has turned his back on us. This echoes back to Psalm 22 which states “My God My God, why hast thou forsaken me.” A Psalm that would be Quoted by Jesus himself while on the Cross. The most profound message in Christianity is not that God gets us out of every mess when we want him to or when it seems necessary for us, it is that God allows things to be done for His purposes.  When Jesus Christ prayed in the garden of Gethsemane before his death, he asked for the cup to be removed from Him. Finally on the cross as his sacrifice was near complete he felt forsaken. This feeling is not a measure of God's failure since it was uttered by the Redeemer Himself. Our current struggles are not a reflection of our righteousness.  The answer to this conundrum is not that God is failing or that we are, but that God continues worthy of praise and love, even when we don't understand the working of His world. Be patient. Ignore the taunting of the enemy and others who don't understand your faith. Wait for God. Praise him His presence will heal. Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Updates:  Final Question: In what ways do you thirst for God? When shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, “Where is your God?” 4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance. 6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me; Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, And from the heights of Hermon, From the Hill Mizar. 7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. 8 The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life. 9 I will say to God my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” 10 As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. - Psalm 43: 1 Vindicate me, O God, And plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man! 2 For You are the God of my strength; Why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 3 Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle. 4 Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? God wants us to catch this message and take it to the ends of the earth. He says, you that were dead in trespasses and sin, has He quickened, that is, made alive together with Christ. In other words, when Jesus was on the Cross, we were united with him in His death. He died as “us” on the Cross. He was “us” on the Cross. When He was crucified, we were crucified in Him. When He died, we died. Hallelujah! When He was buried, we were buried with Him. When God raised Him back to life, we were raised back to life. We've been raised up together and made to sit together with Him in heavenly places. He has become the head of the body; together we're now Christ, because we died in Him, were buried in Him, and were raised back to life in Him. Now we're one with Him!  The Bible says, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17). We're joint-heirs with Him (Romans 8:17). We're together as one. Hallelujah! Ephesians 1:22-23 says, “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” He's the one who fills everything (Ephesians 4:10), yet His fullness is the Church, which is His body. We're His completeness, and we're complete in Him: “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:9-10). Praise God! Confession I've been baptized into the body of Christ; brought into union with divinity. When Christ was raised from the dead, I was raised up together with Him. Now that He's seated on the throne, I'm seated together with Him in the place of dominion, glory, and authority. Blessed be God! If you fall down in a land of peace, How will you do in the thicket of the Jordan? 5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, "MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM; 6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." 7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. **Three different things we need to know about God's discipline.** **A. God discipline us perfectly.** **a. 5b…My Son, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;** Ps 42:5-6 5 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence. 6 O my God, my soul is in despair within me; **Therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan And the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.** 1 Cor 10:13 13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. **B. God's discipline is proof of sonship and His love.** a. 7 It is for **discipline that you endure;** God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. “9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.” **C. God's discipline is for our training.** “9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; **shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?** 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but **He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.”** James 1:2-4 “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. “ Rom 5:3-5 3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Matt 5:12 12 **"Rejoice and be glad**, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Luke 6:22-23 22 **"Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil,** for the sake of the Son of Man. 23 **"Be glad in that day and leap for joy,** for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets. **1 Peter 4:12-14** 12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 13 but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, **keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation.** 14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

This morning, James spoke from Colossians 1:15-20 on how when we think of Jesus, we think of how he was on earth. He is the way we know what God is like. He is the image of the invisible God. However, Jesus is also the firstborn over all creation. He is before all things and in him all things hold together. All things have been created through him and for him. He is the head of the body so that in everything he might have the supremacy. That is who Jesus is. That is who we worship. Ros then led the time of prayer, praying: • That we would be filled afresh with the Holy Spirit, that we would see Jesus afresh for who he is, that our eyes will be fixed on Jesus, and that this would transform how we approach everything else • We would be amazed at who Christ and what he has done for us. And that we would be overflowing with joy and excitement to tell our friends, family, colleagues and neighbours about Him • For our church; HTC, for the APCM and Revitalise 250 • For the church in the UK, the church coming out of Covid, the worldwide church and the persecuted church

Temptation comes to us in every from and at every stage of life. The Puritan Thomas Adams said, “Satan, like a fisher, baits his hook according to the appetite of the fish.” Temptation makes sin look good, sound, and feel good until it ends bitterly in sorrow and death. Because Jesus is the son of Abraham and son of David, a true man, He was tempted in every way that we are and yet He resisted, which is why we can rely on Him: “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb. 4:15-16).

What do you do when you are unable to change the difficult situation you’re in? Even if you can’t change the circumstance, you are not a victim. Instead, you are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be victorious in the midst of your hard season. Karen Harmon  Karen’s Kairos Moment: Karen’s pastor CHALLENGED her to praise God FOR the hard season she was in. I may not see it now, but I know You have victory on the other side of this obedience.” QUOTE: “The chains started to break when I started to praise.” Karen’s perspective changed as she began to see who God is instead of focusing on her pain. She decided to do what she could instead of focusing on what she couldn’t (mentoring, writing, etc). So often, we want a quick fix or a checklist, but Karen says we put so much value in the final destination, but the beauty lies in the journey. I despise the message, “You are enough.” Because YOU’RE NOT, but He is MORE THAN ENOUGH. By aligning ourselves with that mantra, when we go through these hardships, we beat ourselves up. “If I’m enough, then why can’t I do this? Why can’t I conquer this? QUOTE: “YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO! He was meant to do that IN you, FOR you, and THROUGH you.” Shift your focus from wanting to be enough to: “God, you are more than enough!”

A daily devotional through the recorded words Jesus spoke while He walked alongside us. Our website http://alittlewalkwithgod.com. Thanks for joining me today for "A Little Walk with God." I'm your host Richard Agee. Water is one of those things none of us can do without. It is one of those basic needs that without it, we die. Food, water, shelter. Those things mean life. Without them we cannot survive. And water is first on the list. A week without water and the body shuts down. Jesus understood the necessity of water, too, but He had a different solution to our needs. Scripture John 7:37-38 Jesus: If any of you is thirsty, come to Me and drink. If you believe in Me, the Hebrew Scriptures say that rivers of living water will flow from within you. Devotional When the rest of the country was suffering an economic downturn a few years ago, Texas was still creating jobs. In fact, when the nation created 300,000 jobs overall one year, Texas created 400,000 within its borders. That means the rest of the country lost 100,000 jobs. What attracts people to Texas? Weather Taxes Corporate laws Texas has one big problem when it comes to business Water Cities are growing faster than the water supply Buying water from other states Research for desalinization and other means of purification of seawater aren't keeping up with the demand Middle east has similar problems Water seems more scarce than oil Dig deep for wells Often require purification even when found Protect at all costs Jesus promises water than never ends Living water - running water from springs that remain clean and pure Never dries up regardless of weather Quenches thirst unlike some of the water with minerals (salts) in them Not just a little trickle of water, but rivers of living water No pockets of brackish water either Where do you find this kind of water? Come to Jesus Believe in Him For who He is and what He did for you Ask for forgiveness Follow the commands He gives you If you want to learn more about my church, you can find us at SAF.church. If you like the devotional, share it with someone. If you don't, tell me. I hope you'll join me again tomorrow for "A Little Walk with God."

When will I come and see the face of God? 3  My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” 4  These things I [vividly] remember as I pour out my soul; How I used to go along before the great crowd of people and lead them in procession to the house of God [like a choirmaster before his singers, timing the steps to the music and the chant of the song], With the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a great crowd keeping a festival. 5  Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become restless anddisturbed within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence. 6  O my God, my soul is in despair within me [the burden more than I can bear]; Therefore I will [fervently] remember You from the land of the Jordan And the peaks of [Mount] Hermon, from Mount Mizar. 7  Deep calls to deep at the [thundering] sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me. 8  Yet the Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song will be with me, A prayer to the God of my life. 9  I will say to God my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” 10  As a crushing of my bones [with a sword], my adversaries taunt me, While they say continually to me, “Where is your God?” 11  Why are you in despair, O my soul? Why have you become restless anddisquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.
