Episode 356 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features Henrik Haukeland, the Top Goalie at this year's IIHF World Championships.   In the feature interview presented by NHL Sense Arena, Haukeland shares stories and insights from him remarkable run backstopping Norway to it's first ever medal at the World Championships in Switzerland, including a 3-2 overtime win against a star-studded Canadian team in the final game. The 31-year-old was already the top goalie in Germany's top league, the DEL, in 2023 and has played in Sweden's top-level SHL and Finland's elite Liiga during an impressive pro career in Europe, and shares advice from his path in pro and insights into Norway's unique sporting structure and the evolving state of the game -- and goaltending -- in his native country. In the Parent Playbook, presented by Stop it Goaltending U the App, we talk about importance of goalie parents taking time for their own mental and physical health, possibly while loosening the leash on how closely you watch your young goalie, and how that can benefit both of you.  We also review this week's Pro Reads, presented by Vizual Edge, featuring freshly minted Stanley Cup champion Brandon Bussi with a greta breakdown on managing plays from behind the net.  And in our weekly gear segment, we head to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, or a look at the new True Catalyst Nitro pads and gloves and how it compares with other levels in that lineup.

NHL free agency is heating up before it even begins, and Max Bultman joins us once again on this remote episode to break it all down. Tune in as we discuss Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings' potential free agency targets to fill the holes around Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, Moritz Seider, Simon Edvinsson, Patrick Kane, Marco Kasper and others: would you rather overpay Mitch Marner or Sam Bennett? Could Aaron Ekblad be the answer? Nikolaj Ehlers, Brad Marchand, Brock Boeser, or Brock Nelson? Trade for a Byram or Marchment? (3:35) Also, updates on the Toledo Walleye, Muskegon Lumberjacks, and Dylan and Kenzie Larkin welcoming their first child into the world! (37:20) Next, the IIHF World Championships provide unexpected cinema as Denmark upsets Crosby, MacKinnon, and Team Canada, Tage Thompson give USA their first gold medal in 92 years, and the Swiss are slept on (39:35) before we jump into our Stanley Cup Playoffs update: Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers making easy work of Svechnikov and the Hurricanes, and Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and the Edmonton Oilers taking charge vs. Rantanen and the Stars (44:20). After some quick NHL news involving former Detroit Red Wings great Brendan Shanahan, we jump into our 2025 NHL Draft Prospect Profile on Jack Nesbitt, and then discuss whether Victor Eklund could be poised to fall for Steve Yzerman to add to the pipeline that already includes Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, Nate Danielson, and more (56:20). Thanks for listening Washington Capitals fans! The Official Caps Chirp Podcast on The Hockey Podcast Network is back with another incredible episode. The NHL Conference finals are in full swing and we're going to talk all about it. In the West the Edmonton Oilers lead the series 2-1. After dropping a multi goal lead to the Dallas Stars in game 1, the Oilers have charged back and won the last 2 games in convincing fashion. Dallas isn't out of it yet, but they definitely need some of that magic Rantanen power to get them back on track. In the East, the Carolina Hurricanes have turned a hump into Mount Everest as they can seemingly not figure the ECF's out. They are down 3-0 in their series against Florida and haven't won an ECF in 15 straight games. That's insane. If they get swept I'd look for some big changes to the team in the off season. Beyond the NHL, in IIHF World Championship news: the USA has snapped a 92 year drought and brought home gold in the tournament. Canada didn't even medal so we'll be gloating all about that too.
