On today's episode we welcome Bethany Lundell Garver. Beth is Dean of Practice at the Boston Architectural College, where she oversees college-wide courses and career programs that connect academic knowledge to real-world challenges. She directs the Gateway Office BAC, an innovative "community-based design uncenter" that expands design agency through civic engagement. Before joining the BAC in 2014, she spent many years with Rafael Viñoly Architects, working on significant laboratory and healthcare projects. She was recently recognized with the 2025 AIA/ACSA Practice and Leadership Award and the 2024 AIA Young Architects Award. Beth also maintains a Somerville-based design studio focused on architectural research and practice. We talk about:- The importance of pairing an education in architecture with real-world experience and how the BAC has designed and built a robust curriculum that balances academics with required hours in areas of practice.- We make comparisons to NCARB's AXP program and Beth shares what her peers in education are thinking regarding licensure pathways and accreditation to broaden access to the profession.- We discuss the current state of studio culture, encouraging “good enough” design over perfectionism, and how Beth, as an educator, prepares students to manage their time effectively while maintaining work-life balance.- We end by talking about a growing emphasis on designing for material reuse and how the BAC challenges traditional “infinite materials” assumptions, teaches adaptive, resource-conscious design practices, and collaborates with community partners. ____Links:Connect with Beth: https://www.linkedin.com/in/beth-lundell-garver/Learn about the BAC: go-bac.orgMore about the BAC: https://www.acsa-arch.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/BLG-AT-MS-TMB-PL-2025Awards-5.pdfConnect with Architectette:- Website: www.architectette.com (Learn more)- Instagram: @architectette (See more)- Newsletter: www.architectette.com/newsletter (Behind the Scenes Content)- LinkedIn: The Architectette Podcast Page and/or Caitlin BradySupport Architectette:- Leave us a rating and review!Music by AlexGrohl from Pixabay.

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is joined by Jacob Winans(@JacobWinans8) for another edition of Winans Wednesday. Panthers got the scoring going 19 seconds in thanks to Aaron Ekblad working the give-and-go with Carter Verhaeghe. Although the first period looked to have shown signs of a goaltenders dual, the same slow down for the early portions of the second period. Florida was ineffective on their power play as it looked as if they were force feeding Reinhart down in the bumper. Panthers also coughed the puck a good amount of times in the neutral zone and thanks to Bobrovsky having control in the crease, he prevented Ottawa from tying this game even earlier. Panthers would still go into the third with a 2-goal lead, where some sloppiness led to Ottawa taking advantage. Cats would end it in overtime after a big stop on their end, Tkachuk then skates around the Senators zone where he feeds on a drop pass and as Lundell drives to the net beats Korpisalo top shelf to give the Panthers a 3-2 overtime win. The guys give their three stars + when we thought this game was won, and discuss how tonight was a great night for the team in regard to depth scoring, and now winning games in overtime where they have not had many this season. This week's episode of Scrambling with Dylan Otto features BYU alum & newly professional golfer Carson Lundell. The way Carson got into the game of golf is a story you've never heard before. He had no interest in the game of golf until he dislocated his pinky finger at a camp he didn't even want to go to and the only thing he could do in his cast was chip and hit putts. Ever since then, golf has consumed his life! Junior golf was not existent to him and his family, they didn't know where to start with competitive golf. Lundell started playing in local Thursday night matches at the local course and once he started high school golf, he was able to find the golfer he'd eventually turn into. Shooting some really low numbers all throughout his high school career and playing in for some local Utah Junior organizations. Carson tells a story about when he was at the National Championship at PGA National in Florida for his high school team and after winning it, players were asking him where he was going to play college golf. He responded with... "I don't know". He soon committed to BYU where he had the best 5 years of his life and can't believe it's all over already. Carson has recently turned professional since graduating a month ago and is looking to take professional golf head on. Enjoy the show!
