In this podventure, we discuss the episode “Back to Bethlehem, Part I,” in which Connie and Eugene(ius) are off to experience the Nativity for themselves in the Imagination Station. Will Eugene's heart be opened to the true meaning of Christmas, or will he remain trapped in his doubts? Will Connie's eyes be opened to the gritty reality of life in the first century, or will she get caught up in a brewing love triangle that serves no purpose other than being extremely entertaining? Also, a baffling Chris Corner (or should we say, Christmas Corner?), selectively leaning into the realism of patriarchy, and Imagination Station theories! Everyone say Roman Census!

“If Wishes Were Horses” 30th-anniversary reflections Bedtime stories are supposed to be fun, but one gets a bit too real for Molly O'Brien when the straw-spinning imp Rumpelstiltskin shows up in her room. Not the kind of visitor you want as a firstborn child. But that's just the start of a surprising evening for the crew of Deep Space Nine. London Kings baseball legend Buck Bokai pays a visit to Captain Sisko, and Doctor Bashir finds himself in bed with Jadzia Dax just hours after being rejected over dinner. The weirdness continues to grow until the station and the entire Bajoran system become threatened by a spatial rift. As the crew races the clock to find a solution, Sisko realizes that both the problem and the solution lie in their imaginations. In this episode of The Orb, hosts C Bryan Jones and Matthew Rushing continue our 30th-anniversary retrospective that will take you through all of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, one episode at a time. In this podventure, we discuss the episode "Lincoln, Part 1," in which Jimmy is cajoled into taking his first ever Imagination Station adventure through the annals of American History. Jimmy gets dropped into a forest, where he meets 'Abe' and they become fast friends through the time-honored pastime of squirrel hunting. After discovering that his friend Abe is in fact President Lincoln, Jimmy is whisked away on a grand adventure as one of the president's confidantes. Loss aversion. It's a cognitive bias that we all suffer from. It's our tendency to try to avoid loss in the face of possible gain. I've had it, you've had it, we've all had it. It can be a problem, but not one that we can't fix. In today's episode, we're going to explore the possibilities with 3 guaranteed tactics that will keep you progressing rather than treading water in the hopes that you'll get somewhere. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

This is going to be our last episode before I take maternity leave for June and July. Today we are going to talk about my unexpected hospital stay. I went in for a routine ultrasound, never expecting to be admitted into the hospital, thinking I might be having an emergency c-section. We have been quiet about this pregnancy, not sharing too much. We have done a lot of research on the possibilities of what this pregnancy could mean. We kept running into new things, starting with some issues at 11 weeks. The issues continued off and on, very consistently. In the process of checking things out, there was a lot the doctors found out. We have also learned so much about so many different things because of these near-complications. I have learned that I can't control everything and I am so grateful for seeing God's hand in this pregnancy. Jesse and I also share our reading update and what has been saving my life. Make sure to follow me on Instagram if you would like any updates and can't wait until I return from my maternity leave in August. In This Episode [00:34] - Welcome to another episode of The Crystal Paine Show. [01:19] – Jesse has a new book that he is reading. [03:33] – What's saving my life and my reading update is actually rolled up in one. [05:33] – Let's talk about my unexpected hospital stay. [07:05] – I have never had a transverse baby. [09:51] – There is a cause for concern when you are still bleeding in your second and third trimester. [12:36] – It took over forty-five minutes to try and get the baby to move. [15:21] – My Doctor told me at 33 weeks & 5 days, that there was a chance I was having my baby that day. [18:17] –I called Jesse to let him know we might be having a baby and he needed to get to the hospital. [21:50] – I was admitted to the hospital, where they kept monitoring me for an entire 24 hours. [23:47] – The baby must have been in a super-deep, sleep cycle. [24:58] – We didn't have a baby at 33 weeks & 5 days. [25:37] – I struggled with fear when I came home. [27:42] – Another little tidbit that shows God's sovereignty, because I was supposed to be in Vermont. [29:50] - This pregnancy has been such an opportunity to trust God. Bethany will be handling the dogs tonight while I'm a celebrity waiter at a Victory center event. Their food price is not immune to inflation. And why the formula chaos is happening. It's Bethany's husband Josh's birthday! Getting to and from Columbus is a hassle from here. Game Changer opens at the Imagination Station. Waiting in long lines to save money for gas. Tom Cruise got Pilots fired!? You may see Bethany working at Mr. G's at some point.
The lads and special guest Lev Novak (@LevNovak) do battle with the Imagination Station as Adventures in Odyssey tackles its two toughest topics yet: death and also those three guys that visited Jesus that one time. Topics include the gifts of the magi, the preposterousness of hell, and the seemingly unkillable deity known as John Avery Whittaker. I'm more groggy than I should be for a Monday. One with several very important topics to discuss. Before The Slap... Expelling the kids from Bowsher may not be the best idea. The mother who stabbed her kids died in jail. Opening Day is 8 days away. We have a forecast. Coop's is almost open on St. Clair! Alex's first visit to the Imagination Station. I am now an actual Blade subscriber. The Newsslide finally got me. Alex did a good job erasing most of my cynicism that it was a staged event. It was certainly sad, all around.
It's a guest heavy Wednesday, but first, my best friend back in the Devil Wear Prada days was prescient. Amy Mohr is back on because there is SO much going on at the Imagination Station. Zombie, Girl Power and more! Erica Fischbach from Junior Achievement is on to talk about their upcoming INSPIRE event at the Glass City Convention Center May 11, 12. Getting kids interested in potential future jobs.
In this podventure, we discuss the episode “Elijah, Part 2,” in which Robyn and Jack continue their separate adventures through 2 Kings, culminating with the most famous scene in the book. But the drama doesn't end there. Queen Jezebel is still out to get those kids! Will they survive the wrath of the queen? Good thing this is all taking place in the Imagination Station. Also, appropriate biblical censorship and some home-style discussion questions.
