Low Anthropology with David Zahl, a Joint Podcast with GFG and BW In this episode, Grace for the Grind and Beautifully Woven team up to interview David Zahl. David Zahl is the author of the book “Low Anthropology.” He is passionate about communicating deep theological truths in a way we can all understand. In this podcast, David shares why he wrote the book. We talk about what anthropology is and how our understanding of that frames the way we see the world and people. We talk about why a high anthropology divides but a low anthropology unites and how this helps us love our neighbor. “Low Anthropology” is the book WMCLB is using for our cohorts this fall. It was also one of the books that was given as a resource to all of our leaders at the Elevate youth convention. https://mbird.com https://mbird.com/shop/books/low-anthropology/ (Link to the book, you can also find it on Amazon.) https://clbforge.org/all-podcasts/ wmclb.org

EPISODE 229 - Clark opens the show with a quick off the top segment regarding Topps Chrome Basketball and why he's passing on it this year. Then Clark teams up with Denny for this special joint podcast episode played on this podcast Cards To The Moon as well as Denny's podcast The Card Diary. The two hosts discuss a wide range of hobby topics including the National coverage on social media, which led to Denny opening up about being offered to be an ambassador for the National (only for the offer to be rescinded without explanation.) They also tackled the issue of fair representation in the hobby and why it's important to have that discussion. And they also had plenty of random thoughts like why are Panini Downtown cards so popular, and how can you tell if you're being sold a fake card. Clark and Denny also touched on the upcoming Fanatics Fest which Denny and I will both be attending and what they hope to experience when they arrive in NYC. -------------------------- CONNECT WITH US! This was a first for me. I had a blast just shooting the sh*t with Adam Carbary of Embrace & Expand.Adam and I decided to not interview each other on our separate podcasts, but rather just plug in the mics and chat, no set questions (except the 1 signature questions from each of our podcasts), just two wanderers in the world sharing their journeys. Adam has a question he asks his guests on his show: "What did you have to embrace in your life in order to expand into the person you are today?” What a magnificent question! This clip includes portions of my attempt to answer it. And Adam answers Better Place Project's signature question, “What advice do you have for us and our listeners on how we can help make the world a better place,” with as beautiful an answer as I have ever gotten for this question. And obviously he has mastered the art of brevity WAY better than I have! ACM-AMIA Joint Podcast Series is a joint effort of the Women in AMIA's For Your Informatics (FYI) podcast and the ACM ByteCast, is a podcast series exploring the interdisciplinary field of medical informatics where both the practitioners of AI /ML solution builders and the stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystems take interest. The two host professional societies, ACM's practitioner's board and the Women in AMIA (WIA) steering committee, have extended the effort of the two successful flagship podcast series to start this new series. This series will be jointly hosted by Rashmi Mohan, Karmen Williams, Adela Grando, and Sabrina Hsueh, who will interview female leaders (researchers, practitioners, and innovators) who have first-hand experience enabling AI/ML in real-world applications in healthcare and life science. Special emphasis will be given to the guest's career path in this highly interdisciplinary field and how each of them navigates and chooses their path and establishes their reputation within the field. We would also welcome the guest to discuss how she evaluates and governs their own AI applications and builds trust in their own field. In each bi-monthly episode, guests will share their experiences handling interdisciplinary communication and workforce equity issues, the lessons they've learned on their own career paths, and their own visions for the future of computing.
