In this episode, Joti Brar, chair of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist–Leninist CPGB-ML), discusses the compassionless media coverage of the genocide in Gaza and the obfuscation of the horrors of the siege in Gaza, much less the fact that contrary to legacy media, the violence has gone on for far longer than two years. Similarly, workers of the world recognise the pervasiveness of similar propaganda within their own trade unions which are often complicit with the bourgeois propaganda of the ruling elite. As a result, workers today, Brar relates, feel powerless in the absence of strong leadership within their unions. Stressing the need for workers to start making demands of their unions and governments, Brar runs through a list of demands upon which we must all insist, from the breaking of links with the pseudo-leftist parties such as the Labour Party in the UK or the Democratic Party in the US, to refusing to allow the state to oversee the running and organisation of unions, and the building up of strike funds. Brar also notes how workers are increasingly disenfranchised and angry as governments promote culture wars and tribalism (eg. climate change, immigration, and gender ideology) in order to pivot workers against each other, while media and politicians collude with each other, promoting one side as wrong, the other as right, leading populations to bypass reason and to identify with the ruling class. Brar also chronicles the root problems of mass migration, a phenomenon primarily caused by wars and the follow-up looting process promoted by Western nations, all while the imperialist class benefits from paying the bare minimum in immigrant wages while driving a wedge between members of the domestic working class and the immigrant working class, creating an anti-migrant fear. Covering the positive influence of her father, Harpal Brar, on her political education, Brar historicises mid-twentieth century Marxist organisation within Britain in which both her father and mother participated. Der, der diese Mannschaft hauptverantwortlich zusammengestellt hat, ist Sportvorstand Joti Chatzialexiou. Und der steht nach diesem Saisonstart - genau wie Klose - durchaus in der Kritik. Hindert ihn aber nicht daran, im Podcast-Studio bei Uli Digmayer und Fadi Keblawi vorbeizuschauen. Jetzt kennt er den 1. FC Nürnberg In der neuen und von der Sparkasse Nürnberg präsentierten Podcast-Folge gewährt Chatzialexiou einen Einblick auch in sein Seelenleben. Nach einem Jahr beim 1. FC Nürnberg hat er diesen immer mal wieder aufgeregten Verein kennengelernt. Er spricht trotzdem mit Wohlwollen über seinen Arbeitgeber, auch wenn er weiß, dass er dort „nicht 100 Jahre“ arbeiten wird. Trotzdem hat er noch einiges vor mit diesem Club. Chatzialexiou analysiert seinen Transfersommer und kommt dabei wenig überraschend zu einem anderen Urteil als viele Beobachter. Er spricht über seine Pläne für die Zukunft des Vereins, über seine Zusammenarbeit mit dem ehemaligen Sportdirektor Olaf Rebbe und darüber, was er im Scouting noch alles verändern wird. Am Ende beantwortet er dann noch sehr entschieden die wichtigste aller Fragen.

Joti Brar: Earlier this week I talked with Garland Nixon about rising discontent in the imperialist heartlands as the economic crisis bites and conditions for workers become ever worse. When inflation is wiping out pay and increasing numbers of people are homeless in the richest countries in the world, is it any wonder that more people are starting to look favourably at the alternative (ie, at socialism)? We talked about the militarisation of the police as governments prepare to suppress rising dissent and unrest. And we talked about the militarisation of the economy as governments prepare to put the whole of society on a war footing. We also looked at the role of the new home secretary Shabana Mahmood, a muslim woman whose job will be to front up the ruling class's pro-zionist, anti-free-speech and anti-immigrant regimes here in Britain. We discussed the situation where police in Britain continue to carry out mass arrests of peaceful protestors holding cardboard signs in solidarity with proscribed organisation Palestine Action, even as British armed forces continue to participate directly in the genocide in Gaza. With all this evidence, it's time we woke up to the fact that neither the capitalist state machinery nor the bourgeois electoral system can be used to solve the very urgent problems we face. Instead of praying for justice (from a weighted and inherently unjust system) and nicer leaders (to front up a system of ruthless exploitation) we need to organise ourselves to dismantle this machinery of war, repression and exploitation and build a state of a new type – one where the working class wields power and takes decisions in its own interests. ______________________________________________ Subscribe! We talked about how the war on Russia has backfired economically, politically, militarily and socially, and noted how Nato's defeat is deepening the very crisis it was supposed to solve (by providing an orgy of looting for western finance capital at the expense of the Russian people). We discussed how constant concentration of wealth in the hands of a dwindling number of uber-rich is a central feature of capitalist economic life, and how times of crisis will always accelerate this process, so that even quite big businesses fail and are bought up/asset stripped by the few mega-corporations that are big enough to ride out the crisis (for now). We talked about the lessons we are learning at first hand about imperialism and its true nature by witnessing the monstrous crimes of the zionist proxy as a constant live feed. Why does the Trump regime need constantly to ‘talk up' the markets, to talk up US military and economic power? Why do European imperialists agree to such humiliating terms when new ‘deals' are announced? Is this proof that west Europe has been colonised? We talked about the superstitious reverence western workers are imbued with from birth regarding ‘the rules' and ‘the law', leading far too many of us to become endlessly caught up in trying to find the right law with which to fight our corner and bring some corrupt institution or individual to account. But who makes the law and who does it apply to? What about international law? Does it really exist? Did it ever? How did the Geneva Conventions and the Nuremberg Tribunals get replaced with the ICC and the ‘rules-based international order'? We also discussed the fascistic laws and regimes of repression that are being rolled out across western imperialist societies with minimal resistance. This is all part of the Nato bloc's drive to war, and the leaderships of the mass working-class organisations that should be helping us defend ourselves from these attacks by the class enemy and oppose its criminal war/genocide machine are instead helping in their implementation.
