10 years on from the murder of MP Jo Cox, there is a grim warning from her sister Kim Leadbeater: the atmosphere in politics now is "probably worse".Leadbeater warns of people trying to "sow division" in our country - and that's a division that Russia is seeking to exploit. One of the arsonists convicted of trying to firebomb Keir Starmer's house had also been tasked by Kremlin-linked actors with putting up far-right posters, seeking to stoke community tensions. How can it be that, after the tragic murders of Jo Cox and David Amess, our politics continues to slide towards polarisation, anger, and conspiracy?Later, Jake Richards - justice minister and lead on the government's men and boys strategy - on the crisis facing young men and the crisis facing Keir Starmer and his party. The News Agents is a Global Production. The News Agents is brought to you by HSBC UK - https://www.hsbc.co.uk/
Richard Leadbeater is the senior pastor of the influential Dundonald Church in London. He came to Australia for the Reach Australia Conference — 1450 pastors and leaders from across Australia, the UK, the US, South Africa and New Zealand — and left deeply moved.Richard says he found himself in tears four times during the week. In a The Pastor's Heart Friday special, Dominic Steele presses into Richard's pastor's heart, exploring each of those moments. We also talk about the joy and privileges of ministry — and why Richard is concerned that we can talk so much about how hard ministry is that we forget to commend the deep joy of being spent in the service of Christ.#ReachAustraliaAnglican AidTo find out more about supporting Anglican Aid. This week I am reading from RC Clarence' book 'There Is No Such Thing As Death: Scientific Evidence for Life After Death and How You Can Prove It Yourself' What really happens after death? This book draws on the extensive clairvoyant investigations of C. W. Leadbeater and Annie Besant into thousands of people who crossed over into the afterlife. Learn what they discovered and how you can do the same. More than a century ago, clairvoyant investigators associated with the Theosophical tradition began systematically exploring the realms beyond the physical world and comparing their observations of individuals who had crossed into the afterlife. And based on those detailed investigations, this book presents a remarkably consistent picture of life after death—one that anyone can begin investigating for themselves. In this book you will discover: What happens immediately after death The nature of the astral and mental realms The roles of reincarnation and karma The purpose and meaning of life How to develop clairvoyant perception This book is ideal for readers seeking: Evidence-based insights into life after death A clear explanation of the astral and thought planes A synthesis of classical Theosophical research Practical guidance for developing clairvoyant perception Discover why death may not be the end of life—but the beginning of a much larger journey of consciousness. Bio R. C. Clarence, PhD is a university professor, active yoga practitioner, and devoted student of the Ancient Wisdom. His writing style reflects the methods used in the classroom: an informal, conversational approach coupled with the use visual highlights, charts and examples that make the subject matter come alive. Labour MP Kim Leadbeater's assisted dying bill is back in the Commons for the report stage today – returning to parliament for the first time since major changes were made to the legislation. While Leadbeater has insisted the bill is coming back ‘even stronger' than before, support among MPs appears to be fading. The mood in parliament was different to the second reading – which listeners will remember as a self-congratulatory affair, hailed as a ‘historic' day by Leadbeater – but today's debate was notably more ill-tempered. The majority of speeches seemed to oppose the bill rather than support it, and a late intervention by Esther Rantzen did not help. The prevailing opinion appears to be that, while there is support for this kind of legislation, there is little backing for a private member's bill. If this bill does achieve Royal Assent, that will only mark the beginning of a complex challenge for Labour, who will then face major decisions on doctors, training and substances – all issues likely to dominate debate for the remainder of their term. Please join us for this new series entitled Meditating With the Masters. In this meeting we will be asking the Higher Beings and in particular Masters in various known and unknown traditions to assist us in the development of our consciousness and subtle bodies. These Masters are particular to each person in the meeting and your personal connections will be invoked both in the transmission and meditation. In this particular meeting, we will be asking the Divine, Our spiritual guides and Teachers, and the Holy Masters to assist us in downloading the virtue of forgiveness in particular from a non-dual perspective. From this perspective of unity, the hurts and mistakes either done to us or that we have done no longer have any effect. We ask from these evolved beings the capacity to see this life and our experience from this non-dual perspective of unity consciousness. After the 40 minute transmission we will then do a Pillar of Light meditation meant to download these patterns into our subtle bodies and consciousness. In particular we will be focusing on the further opening and development of the heart chakra and its connection to the pineal chakra in the head. This will work to alchemically connect the head and the heart through the central channel of energy. A clean flow of prana can then occur to further develop the head and the heart which leads to universal love, compassion, and higher state of clairvoyance. If you would like to further your study on this topic we will be using the book The Masters and the Path by C.W. Leadbeater as a textbook for this series. This episode is the meditation of the event.

Kim Leadbeater has been an MP since winning the Batley & Spen by-election for Labour in 2021. She was elected to the constituency that her sister, Jo Cox, had served until she was murdered during the 2016 Brexit referendum campaign. Having pursued a career in health and fitness, Kim hadn't initially intended on a life in politics, but she went on to champion social and political cohesion through the Jo Cox Foundation and the More in Common initiative. More recently, she has led the campaign to legalise Assisted Dying. The Bill is currently making its way through Parliament and has been described as the biggest social reform in a generation. On the podcast, Kim talks to Katy Balls about finding common ground with other Yorkshire MPs (including one former Prime Minister), why she thinks the growing popularity of Reform is a worrying sign of disillusionment in politics, and how she is more likely to retire than pursue a third career. The debate around Assisted Dying has been more ‘unpleasant' than expected but she has no regrets, and thinks that – most importantly – the national conversation around death has moved on. Despite a proposed extension, Kim hopes the Bill – if passed – will be implemented within 2-3 years. Produced by Patrick Gibbons.

The History of Chakras The concept of chakras dates back thousands of years, originating in ancient India. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit, meaning “wheel†or “disk,†and refers to energy centers within the human body. These ideas were first mentioned in the Vedas, the oldest Hindu scriptures, written around 1500–1000 BCE. Over time, chakra philosophy became a key component of Hinduism, Buddhism, and various yogic traditions. By the 8th century CE, Tantric Buddhism and Hinduism had further developed the chakra system, detailing specific locations, attributes, and functions of each energy center. The seven-chakra system, which is most widely recognized today, was solidified through medieval yogic texts like the Shat-Chakra-Nirupana and Padaka-Pancaka. In the early 20th century, Western spiritual movements began integrating chakra teachings into modern metaphysical and energy healing practices. Influential figures like C.W. Leadbeater and Carl Jung helped popularize chakras in psychology and holistic wellness, emphasizing their connection to emotional and spiritual well-being. How Chakras Affect Our Daily Lives Chakras are believed to regulate the flow of prana (life force energy) through the body. When balanced, they contribute to physical health, emotional stability, and mental clarity. However, blockages or imbalances can manifest in various ways, such as stress, fatigue, or emotional struggles. Here’s how they influence different aspects of life: 1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Stability & Security • Governs basic survival needs (food, shelter, finances) • When balanced: You feel grounded and secure • When blocked: Anxiety, financial stress, or insecurity 2. Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana) – Creativity & Emotions • Linked to passion, intimacy, and creativity • When balanced: You feel inspired and emotionally open • When blocked: Creative blocks, emotional numbness, or relationship issues 3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Confidence & Willpower • Controls personal power and self-esteem • When balanced: Confidence, motivation, and inner strength • When blocked: Self-doubt, lack of direction, or digestive issues 4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) – Love & Compassion • Governs love, empathy, and emotional healing • When balanced: Healthy relationships and self-love • When blocked: Emotional detachment, heartbreak, or resentment 5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Communication & Truth • Controls self-expression and honesty • When balanced: Clear, authentic communication • When blocked: Fear of speaking up, dishonesty, or throat issues 6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Intuition & Wisdom • Governs insight, intuition, and spiritual awareness • When balanced: Strong intuition and clear thinking • When blocked: Confusion, indecisiveness, or lack of spiritual connection 7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) – Spirituality & Higher Consciousness • Connects to enlightenment and universal energy • When balanced: A sense of peace, purpose, and connection to the divine • When blocked: Feelings of disconnection or lack of meaning in life By understanding and working with your chakras—through meditation, breathwork, yoga, and energy healing—you can bring greater balance, clarity, and harmony into your daily life. The Labour MP sits down with Nick to reflect on how she went from selling beds in her Yorkshire hometown, to being at the forefront of political debate as the face of the campaign to legalise assisted dying, and how the murder of her sister, Jo Cox, helps explain the journey.
Episode 84 features part two of a two-part conversation with Philip Clift about C.W. Leadbeater and his book "The Chakras". He begins by defining the vital force and the serpent fire and then explaining a little about each one and how they connect to the chakras but are different in essence. He also describes what the 3 spinal channels are. Next we talk about how we absorb vitality and how it affects our physical health. Towards the end, we discuss some practical ways that people can connect and work with this information.

But it was the murder of her sister Jo Cox in 2016 that saw her thrust into the public eye. After years promoting social cohesion with the Jo Cox Foundation and More In Common, in 2021 she became an MP in the same constituency her sister had represented. Recording of an Academy of Ideas debate on Tuesday 26 November 2024 via Zoom. ORIGINAL INTRODUCTION With Parliament about to vote on the issue for the first time since 2015, join us for a discussion on the rights and wrongs of legalisation. The House of Commons will vote on Labour MP Kim Leadbeater's Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill on 29 November. The Bill claims to ‘allow adults who are terminally ill, subject to safeguards and protections, to request and be provided with assistance to end their own life', although there have been complaints publishing the full text of the Bill. While assisted suicide is currently illegal in the UK, the proposed legislation would make an exception on request for patients with six months left to live, with permission from medical professionals. Leadbeater presents assisted suicide as a matter of free choice and dignity, and argues that those without the option will take the situation into their own hands, causing unnecessary distress for those around them. However, there are doubts – including from the health secretary, Wes Streeting – that the bill will guard effectively against situations in which people are coerced to die, either by family members or by a state that is too often incapable of providing adequate palliative care. In the US state of Oregon, whose Death With Dignity Act bears resemblance to the UK's Terminally Ill Adults Bill, a majority of people who choose to die cite fears about becoming a burden for their loved ones. Is the current law a ‘cruel mess,' to quote campaigner Dame Esther Rantzen – or is it necessary to prevent slippery slopes? Could the interests of our welfare state undermine the Bill's protections? And how should we square a patient's freedom of choice with existing frameworks of medical ethics? SPEAKERS James Esses barrister; writer, commentator and advocate, specialising in the impact of ideology on society; co-founder, Thoughtful Therapists Rabbi Dr Jonathan Romain MBE chair, Dignity in Dying, the UK's leading campaign for a change in the law on assisted dying; head of the Rabbinic Court of Great Britain; author of several books with the central theme of reforming Judaism, including The Naked Rabbi: His Colourful Life, Campaigns and Controversies and Confessions of a Rabbi. Sonia Sodha chief leader writer at the Observer and a Guardian/Observer columnist. She also makes documentaries on economic and social issues for Radio 4 and appears regularly on the BBC, Sky News and Channel 4 as a political commentator. Episode 83 features part one of a two-part conversation with Philip Clift about C.W. Leadbeater and his book "The Chakras". He begins by giving a little background and history on C.W. Leadbeater, his work, and the Theosophical Society. We explore what a chakra is and the culture that this information originated out of. We discuss Leadbetter's interpretation of the chakras and how they differ from some of the more common diagrams we normally see of them. We then spend some time going over each chakra, including their Sanskrit name, their placement in the body, and the corresponding rays and colors for each one. In part two we will explore how the 3 spinal channels, the vital force and the serpent fire all connect to the chakras, as well as some practical ways that people can connect and work with this information.
Should assisted dying be legalised? How did the murder of her sister, Jo Cox, impact British politics? Why is the job of an MP so difficult? Time remains the most misunderstood and mystical dimension of our experience of life. We never seem to have enough time, yet often it seems to drag by too slowly. Enthralled with the possibility of time travel and time machines, we long for the future or regret our past and wish for a way to break out of the linear progression of time. Behind all of this time fascination and obsession is the human urge to manage our destiny and feel in control of our world. Yet the secret to escaping temporal bondage is inside each of us, a soul-given power to visit the past or future and travel through the present at the speed of light. Exploring the 7 secrets of time, Von Braschler reveals how to break free from the physical world and travel through time and space via the energy body. He examines time, timelessness, and time travel from the viewpoint of mystics, shamanic dreamwalkers, and scientists, including Helena Blavatsky, C. W. Leadbeater, Albert Einstein, and Julian Barbour, as well as Hindu spiritual science. Explaining how transcending the physical body offers new hope for the treatment of illness, emotional problems, and addictions, he offers step-by-step instructions and active, out-of-body exercises to develop your time travel abilities and explore the world of energy and spirit. Emphasizing the spiritual wholeness that comes from energy body work, he shows that by visiting the past and the future we can more fully live in the now.

There is no question that modern Buddhist practice, especially in Sri Lanka and the United States, was heavily influenced by the work of Theosophy’s co-founder Colonel Henry Steel Olcott. Who was this Civil War era Renaissance Man and how did he influence modern Buddhism? We hope that by shedding light on his impact it may help open the conversation about Buddhist esotericism, mysticism and magic that seem to be muted in the practices and study of modern Buddhism, especially from the viewpoint of Western Scientific Materialism. ACD had a lifelong interest in the mystical and paranormal. In fact his interest in Spiritualism can be dated as early as 1887 when he published an article in the journal of the London Spiritualistic Alliance. In 1883 he joined the thriving Society for Psychical Research. But Kingsley’s death from a long convalescence following a wound acquired at the Battle of the Somme in 1916 did appear to strengthen his belief in spirit communication and life after death. He believed that Spiritualism was a New Revelation sent by God to bring solace to so many who were experiencing loss. He began lecturing on Spiritualism in 1916 and wrote The New Revelation in 1918 on this theme. The Trickster and the Paranormal by George P. We have talked a lot about the physical side of us but these next couple episodes are going to be about the non-physical side of us. This is the first episode in a two pat series about the astral plane - scenery, inhabitants and phenomena. This comes from a book written by a highly skilled Clairvoyant from the mid 1800's named C.W. Leadbeater !
Cub Kuker Supernatural™ Podcast EP313 Could Halloween, as a holiday and cultural phenomenon, actually be a "form" in the same sense as the thought-forms discussed in "Thought-Forms" by Annie Besant and C.W. Leadbeater. The concept of thought-forms in their book pertains to the visualization of mental and emotional content taking shape in the astral or mental plane… what do you think? In the book "Thought-Forms" by Annie Besant and C.W. Leadbeater, the authors discuss the creation and visualization of thought-forms, which are mental images or entities that represent thoughts, emotions, or intentions. The book outlines three fundamental principles that govern the formation of these thought-forms, as follows: 1. Quality of Thought Determines Colour: According to the first principle, the quality or nature of a person's thoughts is directly linked to the colors that appear in the thought-form. In other words, the emotional and intellectual content of a thought influences the specific colors that manifest within the thought-form. For example, loving and compassionate thoughts may give rise to warm and vibrant colors like red or pink, while negative or fearful thoughts may produce dark and murky colors like black or gray. 2. Nature of Thought Determines Form: The second principle posits that the nature or character of a thought shapes the form of the thought-form. Different thoughts have distinct characteristics, and these characteristics are mirrored in the shapes and patterns of the thought-forms they generate. For instance, a harmonious and peaceful thought might result in a thought-form with flowing and graceful contours, while a chaotic or fragmented thought may produce a disordered and irregular form. 3. Definiteness of Thought Determines Clearness of Outline: The third principle emphasizes the importance of the clarity and definiteness of a thought in determining the clarity of the thought-form's outline. Thoughts that are well-defined and focused will create thought-forms with sharp and distinct outlines, making them easily recognizable and impactful. Conversely, vague or unclear thoughts will result in thought-forms with fuzzy or indistinct edges, which may not convey their intended message effectively. In summary, "Thought-Forms" describes these three fundamental principles as the foundation for understanding how thoughts are visually represented in the form of thought-forms. These principles suggest that our thoughts are not just abstract mental processes but have a concrete and visible aspect that reflects their quality, nature, and clarity. By recognizing and working with these principles, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of their own thought patterns and their impact on their inner and outer worlds. ×
