Read along to practice your English and to learn the English phrases TO RUN OUT OF STEAM and TO BE STEAMEDIn this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English phrase to run out of steam. When you run out of steam, it means you're really tired after working for a long time or maybe hiking all day or doing something that is a bit exhausting. Yesterday I worked really long. I worked till it was really late last night and I ran out of steam. At around 7:30 I thought, you know, I should just go in, have a shower, maybe watch the Blue Jays game, because I was starting to get... I was just exhausted. My muscles hurt. I was laying blocks by the house. I'll show you that job when it's done. But I definitely ran out of steam. So to run out of steam means to be out of energy, but usually because you did something that was physically exhausting.WANT FREE ENGLISH LESSONS? GO TO YOUTUBE AND SEARCH, "BOB THE CANADIAN"If you enjoy these lessons please consider supporting me at: http://www.patreon.com/bobthecanadianThe other phrase I wanted to teach you today is to be steamed. When you're steamed, it simply means you're angry. Like you could say, oh, I was late for work five days in a row, my boss was steamed. It just means that your boss was really, really angry. When you say someone is steamed, it means they are not happy and sometimes not happy with you.So to review, to run out of steam means to be tired or exhausted, to be physically and mentally just done like you have no more energy left. And to be steamed simply means to be angry. Or maybe you eat your vegetables that way. The other day I ate steamed broccoli. The broccoli was steamed. So obviously it has other meanings as well. But hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Vitor. Hello Bob. When you and Jen are at the market, do you notice what kind of flowers people like the most? I mean, different strokes for different folks. I don't think people will have preferences because all the flowers you produce are beautiful. You know, maybe it is good to know if one kind of flower is selling more than another. Thank you, Bob.Mohd chirps in: I'm also wondering what their best seller is. Probably peonies and lizzies. And then my response: It changes as the season progresses. People love to see the bouquets slowly change week to week. Like see different flowers in them. If we had the exact same flowers every week, people would get a bit bored. So sunflowers all season long, but peonies, then zinnias, then dahlias and then lisianthus are how the season progresses and changes. So thanks Vitor for that comment. And yeah, so we do have flowers that kind of, as the season goes along, become more popular. And people do like variety. People do like to see different flowers. So at this point in time, the Lizzies are starting to bloom. The dahlias are actually starting to bloom at the same time. But the question is, which is the most popular? You know, variety is the most popular. People like to see different flowers from week to week. They don't mind, like zinnias, lizzies dahlias. They don't mind buying the same flower.I think I just walked through a spider web with the camera. They don't mind buying the same flower for a few weeks, but not longer than three or four weeks. And then they're, you know, we're humans. We like to see new things. We like to experience new things. So certainly sunflowers, we just use all the time. They're kind of like a mainstay. You would say it's a pretty common flower. But throughout the rest of the season, people do like to see a little bit of variety and a little bit of change, especially towards the fall. They like to see more what we would call fall colors, colors like browns and deep oranges. Support the Show.

I had a delightful conversation with my next guest, Lizzie McGraw. We talk about how she started and developed her popular boutique, Tumbleweed & Dandelion, in Venice Beach, California, and then went on to create interiors for many of her repeat clients. She's recently come out with a beautiful book called "Creative Style," in which she shares her thought process on design, which prompted my interest in having her on the show. Could this be one of the most influential genre movies of the '70's? Well if you consider this to be one of the earliest movies to take place over ONE tense night traversing through big city, then the answer is likely yes. Walter Hill (48 Hours) directed this urban adventure of one young gang (the eponymous Warriors) trying to find their way back home to Coney Island from a violent event in The Bronx......all via 50 miles of subway train when they're not fending off rival gangs wearing facepaint, brandishing baseball bats, and/or gliding on old-school roller skates. The cast includes Michael Beck, James Remar, David Patrick Kelley, Dorsey Wright, Brian Tyler, and Roger Hill among several others.....CAN YOU DIG IT?? Rob is joined in this episode by the original WAG, Lizzie Cundy! They talk all about media, networking and the highs and lows of being in the public eye. Lizzie also delves deep into her thoughts on the ‘Wagatha Christie' debacle, the Depp –vs- Heard case and why she thinks the Harry and Megan interview was disrespectful and wrong. KEY TAKEAWAYS Being a WAG was aspirational and attainable, this is why WAG's sold papers. They became stars in their own right and people wanted to know all about their lives. Lizzie believes the change she has seen in the past 30 years in media has been largely a positive thing by allowing more opportunities for more people. However, Lizzie is very against the current ‘woke' culture and what she calls the fun police. Lizzie believes in freedom of speech and doesn't think this should be restricted just because some people may take offence. You still need an agent in the world of media. To protect yourself and to stop yourself being used. Lizzie found offering people help and becoming a known face is what helped her build her network, mostly because it aided her in building trust with people. If you aren't naturally outgoing, you can still be very connected but you must take your chances and push yourself out of your comfort zone. Always ask the question you shouldn't ask. This is what people want to know and get out of listening to interviews. The press aren't ‘scum' in Lizzie's eyes. The majority are just trying to earn a living, it's simply a job for them. Celebrities need the press as much as the press need celebrities. There's always a way to make what you want to happen, happen. This is one of Lizzies's mantra's and why she is so well connected in the world. Lizzie's mechanism for dealing with criticism and hate is her sense of humour. She knows she is a good person and has good self-esteem so this alongside enjoying life helps her stay strong against any adversity. For aspiring female entrepreneurs, Lizzie's advice is to believe in yourself and to show no fear, you are as good if not better than everyone else. BEST MOMENTS “I think in this, businesses you can be too sensitive” “I think probably I'm a bit of a laugh, I don't take it too seriously” “Talk to them, so what if their security says no, take your time.
