Tom Brady's statue will be unveiled during a preseason game in August. Will it be ugly? When will he be honored? A preseason game? Of course Kraft is charging people big money for a preseason game. On the clock: why the Patriots need Stef Diggs. Keefe says the Patriots need him, but Jones says Diggs needs the Patriots. Whose side are you on? Dissecting the Red Sox log jam. What is the ideal solution? Story? Will Toro ever cool off? Keefer madness! What happened in Yellowstone? Listen for what happened to a tourist and a bison. Jones loves it in a burger, but what about in a national park? This may have been a “let me get a selfie” moment.
Brdadfo walked out of a movie this weekend. How many Anthony Anthonys are there? Getting into the rightly/lefty debate. You cannot ignore the analytics. How can we get the kids more at bats against lefties? What is the responsible decision? There is no easy solution! Who gets sent down, who gets into the lineup who plays every day? Will Devers pick up a glove? Campbell has to be better to be at the big league level. The logical progression is to send him down.
During the final hour of Dan Bahl he discusses how he would fix the Red Sox lineup problems. Then he goes into the Bruins recent coaching hire.

Charlie & Mitch are back for Episode 604 of Tapping The Keg, and this week, they're staring into the storm clouds forming over Wisconsin sports. As rival teams around the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks continue to level up, we ask the tough question — are we headed for a rough stretch? We kick things off with a look at the Milwaukee Brewers' big June test, and what it means for their season. Then it's over to Green Bay, where the Packers are still trying to make sense of their wide receiver room — who's stepping up, and who's falling behind? To wrap it all up, we dive into a surprisingly on-point comparison between college football's shifting landscape and modern U.S. politics — realignment, chaos, and all. Subscribe, rate, and let us know — are you bracing for the dark days, or are we just overreacting?
In this episode of The Leaders Kit Bag, I'm digging into a common but critical leadership flaw: becoming the bottleneck in your team's decision-making process. When every decision must run through you, progress stalls, opportunities are lost, and teams become disengaged. Drawing on principles from military leadership and practical business tools, I'll show you how to break that logjam and build a team of empowered, capable decision-makers. In this episode, you'll learn: Why ego and fear are the hidden drivers behind over-controlling leadership How to apply Susan Scott's Decision Tree (read my blog) to streamline team decisions https://www.ben-morton.com/the-decision-tree-a-smarter-approach-to-delegation/ What the military principle of Mission Command can teach us about effective delegation How to give up control without losing oversight By giving others the autonomy to lead within clear boundaries, we not only free ourselves up to focus on what really matters – we also grow more leaders in the process. The Leadership Capability Scorecard If you're ready to find out exactly where your leadership strengths lie – and where you might be holding your team back – complete the Leadership Capability Scorecard today. It's a quick, free tool that gives you powerful insights into the collective leadership capability of your team across nine key areas. The page gets turned to not only November, but the fall & winter sports as they'll get their full attention with a complete breakdown on all that's taken place as the latest podcast is here. On deck: (6:23) Now that baseball is in our rearview mirror, football will be front and center as the main topic of discussion over the next few months. First up, the NFL. The big question at the moment are the Lions the best team in the league? They beat the Packers at Lambeau Field in their first outdoor game this year. Who in the NFC is going to beat the Lions, especially come January when they may have the #1 seed in the conference? How about the NFC West? What a wild division this is turning out to be as all four teams are separated by one game, with the Arizona Cardinals in first place! I'll go through a rough slate of games yesterday as we're approaching the halfway (or past the halfway point) of the season. Don't forget, tomorrow is the trade deadline at 4pm. Which players will be moved in the next 24 hours, with some requesting to go to Washington as reported? (30:19) Penn State comes up small yet again against their conference rival Ohio State Buckeyes, losing 20-13 on Saturday. Are they to be trusted come playoff time? There were a couple of other key losses to teams that are ranked in the top 25 (Texas A&M, Iowa State) which could keep them out of the tournament come late December? (38:42) Tension boiling in Philadelphia between Joel Embiid and a columnist? That's what happened as the former MVP confronted Marcus Hayes, which ended up in a shoving match. This is based on what Hayes wrote about Embiid professionally and personally. Was Hayes wrong? Did Embiid take this too far? There's a huge injury in the sport as Magic forward, Paolo Banchero will be out for at least six weeks until evaluated from a torn oblique. And is a 5 x 5 stat line (at least five in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks) en vogue after Victor Wembanyama did so a few days ago against Utah. NOTE: Some late breaking news during the recording as the New Orleans Saints fired head coach, Dennis Allen to no surprise after losing to lowly Carolina yesterday. (50:38) The Florida Panthers aren't suffering from a Stanley Cup hangover as they swept the Dallas Stars in another international series (this time in Finland) leading the top of the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference overall. I have to throw my two cents in on my beloved Islanders who have lost a couple of key players to injury and are looking mediocre as they'll end up being a fringe playoff team by the time we get to spring. And Alexander Ovechkin gets closer to tying Wayne Gretzky for the most goals scored in the history of the NHL. (56:46) Baseball may be on our radar over the next couple of weeks as players have opted out of their current contracts. (i.e. Gerrit Cole, Blake Snell, Corbin Barnes, etc.) Where will they end up? Also, the Braves have been wheeling and dealing, not resting on their laurels as we're just a few days removed from the World Series. Bob Costas steps down as an MLB play-by-play guy after criticism earlier in the postseason.
