For Jesus Followers, Fasting, with Food, Will Symbolize a Victory Over Oneself and Solidify a Personal Relationship with God MESSAGE SUMMARY: In the early Christian Church, which was under great stress and constant physical danger, God's direction and blessing was needed. Therefore, fasting was considered by Church leaders as a key element of their communion with God when they needed both His direction and blessing, as we find in Acts 14:23: “And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.". As a challenge, "consider the food issue" in your life, especially when you need God's direction in your life, because food has such a stronghold on us. Fasting and tithing can significantly deepen your personal relationship with God because fasting is not easy; but success in fasting, especially with food, can symbolize your victory over yourself and solidify your commitment to your personal relationship with God. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, Sabbath rest is truly an unbelievable gift! Thank you that there is nothing I can do to earn your love; it comes without any strings attached. As I close my eyes for these few minutes before you, all I can say is, thank you! In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 133). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Matthew 4:1-2; Matthew 6:16-18; 2 Samuel 12:15-17; Psalms144:1-15. Five Needs of Fathers MESSAGE SUMMARY: Introduction -- Father's, we need to understand God's expectations of Fathers. In Ephesians 6:4, Paul defines God's expectations of fathers: “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.". Also, Proverbs 22:6 presents what expectations we might have if fathers adhere to God's expectations: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.". Dads are to bring up their children in "the way they should go" (their calling). Discipline, wisely administered by fathers, is an important attribute and need for fathers, as the author of Hebrews tells us in Hebrews 12:9-11: “. . . we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”. Today's Message -- The Five Needs of Dads: 1) Companionship -- Genesis 2:18, the majority of men were made not to be alone; 2) Respect – honor, appreciation, respect, as Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:33: “However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband."; 3) Know How to Face Temptation -- when we are tempted (temptation is not a sin) God will provide us a way out of succumbing to the temptation, 1 Corinthians 10:13; 4) Not to Be Foolish -- Proverbs 13:20; and 5) and Remember that God Expects You to Be a Dad -- Ephesians 6:4 and Proverbs 22:6, dads are to train their children so that their children are raised “in the way he should go' and in a way that meets God's expectations of both the dad and the child. Men are motivated when they know they will be held accountable, and God is holding us accountable for how we fathers raise our children. There is a void of faithful men and fathers today; therefore, dad's, should ask God to help you to be faithful as a father. Fathers should hope that, when we are judged by God, He tells us: “Well done good and faithful servant!”. “God, how many more {hours, days, and years} do I have, as a father, to meet your expectations and to receive the joys of being a father” TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, Sabbath rest is truly an unbelievable gift! Dawn Richard's testimony in Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal trial provides critical support for the government's RICO case by illustrating a pattern of alleged abuse, intimidation, and control that aligns with the prosecution's portrayal of a criminal enterprise. Richard recounted multiple instances where she witnessed Combs physically assault his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, including a 2009 incident where Combs allegedly struck Ventura with a skillet and threatened Richard and another witness, stating they "could go missing" if they spoke out. Such threats suggest an environment where violence and intimidation were used to silence witnesses and maintain control, elements that are pertinent to establishing a racketeering conspiracy.Furthermore, Richard described a culture within Combs' circle where his authority was unquestioned, and his staff, including bodyguards, did not intervene during violent episodes. She testified that Combs would become violent when Ventura asserted herself, and that he claimed to "own" Ventura, indicating a dynamic of dominance and control. These accounts contribute to the prosecution's argument that Combs operated a structured system of abuse and coercion, with the complicity or acquiescence of those around him, thereby reinforcing the RICO charges by demonstrating the existence of an organized pattern of criminal behavior.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Danity Kane singer's Diddy testimony could bolster government's RICO case: expert | Fox News

Following the Civil War in the USA, during what became known as the Reconstruction Era, freed Black Americans fought hard to establish communities and defend their rights. None of these struggles were more important than access to education, and the efforts of Black American pioneers of public education helped to form the model of publicly funded school for children in the US, as well as codify this into law. Check out www.dcoffeyfoundation.org to support this month's charity-of-choice, helping young people in need to further their education through athletic scholarships.

Beginnings of Prayer – Part 5: Start Now and Improve Your Prayer Life -- A Robust Prayer Life Will Transform Your Life MESSAGE SUMMARY: INTRODUCTIOIN -- Prayer is: 1) spending time with God – acknowledging God's presence in all our lives' activities; and 2) conversation with God – listening to and talking with God. Prayer reflects on our relationship with God. Why don't we pray. The Apostle James, in James 4:2-3, provides a perspective regarding Prayer Life: “You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions." In praying, we should know the difference between prayers of "petition" (praying for one's own needs) and prayers of "intercession" (praying for the needs of others). God wants prayers of "petition" from us -- all our needs and concerns should be brought to Him in prayer because He loves and cares for us. However, God want us to, also, focus on others and their needs (intercession) -- physical and spiritual. "Intercessory prayer” is fundamental to deepening our prayer life and our personal relationship with God. SUNDAY MESSAGE -- This Sermon is Q and A session on prayer with Archbishop Beach and Rev. Matt Jordan. Jan Karen, author of the Mitford Series, says that "In the big issues of life as well as the small, God wants to hear from His children . . . the most important thing we get from prayer is the relationship that we enter into with God.". As Jesus tells us in Luke 11:9-10 that, as His followers we are both expected to pray and to ask as a fundamental part of our lives in Him: “And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.". Additionally, Luke tells us, in Luke 18:1, that we should continue to pray: “And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart." How do you know that God has answered your prayer? What does it mean when God has not answered your prayer? Why, if God answers our prayers, should we ask for others to pray for us? How do we know if we are praying in the Holy Spirit? Why does my mind start wandering when I start praying? How good is it to have a prayer journal? Why, sometimes, are we tempted to sin when we pray? How important is fasting? Do we stop in our prayers enough to give thanks to the Lord? The common position, derivative of all these questions is expressed to us in Ephesians 3:21b-24 that prayer is life changing and fundamental to a life in Jesus: “the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.". Pray specific prayers, in the Holy Spirit and in Scripture, for ourselves and for others -- be persistent. TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 129). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9). Welcome back to the Daily Mastermind. Are you living a Proactive or Reactive Life? Do you feel that you have control over your destiny and the life you are creating? Or do you feel that you are just at the whim of what ever is coming your way? Well today I want to talk with you about the fact that you definitely can control or influence the direction your life is going. I want to run through several things I feel you can do to craft the life of your dreams. I also plan to start diggin into a timeless classic that you may have already read...Think and Grow Rich...over the coming week. 1. The Desire for Change To change your reality, start by asking yourself: Do you truly desire change? Consider your current state in life. Do you feel in control, or are you at the mercy of your circumstances? The key to transformation is understanding that you can create your reality by adopting a proactive approach rather than a reactive one. Our lives go through cycles where change is needed or desired. I've experienced this firsthand, such as ten years ago when I faced the challenges of a divorce and a business venture shifting out of my control. During such times, proactively crafting change is essential. 2. The Power of Your Philosophy Your beliefs and philosophy will guide you on this journey. Embrace the mindset that your thoughts create your life. As Napoleon Hill taught us, what you can conceive and believe, you can achieve. Solidify your philosophy with belief in yourself and your potential to effect change, even when you lack experience or confidence. Faith is a decision you make to believe in the possibilities ahead, and it's the foundation for beginning any transformation. 3. Creating a Plan for Change So, how do you build the plan to change your reality? The answer lies in following proven frameworks. Remember, success leaves clues. One such blueprint is found in Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich," which outlines the 13 principles for success. This week, I'll be guiding you through these principles, including desire, faith, auto-suggestion, specialized knowledge, imagination, and persistence. Each principle serves as a step to craft the life you envision. 4. Success Leaves Clues "Think and Grow Rich" has inspired millions, selling over 100 million copies since its first publication 80 years ago. It's considered one of the most influential books on success ever printed. Hill's teachings, especially on forming a mastermind or utilizing the subconscious mind, remain as relevant and revolutionary as ever. 5. Aligning with Community and Mentors Being part of a mastermind group or seeking guidance from successful individuals can accelerate your transformation. Surround yourself with those who can transfer belief and provide insights as you navigate your journey. This week we're going to cover one of my all-time favorite books thinking grow rich by Napoleon Hill. Join me each day as I break down the 13 principles that are taught in this timeless classic. Remember, it's never too late to start living the life you are meant to live. George Wright III

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. Turkeys and Eagles, Part 2: Created to Be Like God MESSAGE SUMMARY: Introduction – In Part 1 of this series, “Called as an ‘Eagle' But Saved as a ‘Turkey'” we learned, from the story about “Bubba the Eagle” and from relating this story to Ephesians 4, that many of us Christians have been “Turkeyized”. We learned that, rather than practicing New Testament Christianity, we have been practicing, in too many places, “Churchianity”. Now, we are looking at Paul's letter to the Ephesians to help break us out of this “Churchianity”. Rather than soaring with the eagles, too many of us are gobbling with the turkeys. Message – In this teaching today, we will look at “Created to Be Like God”. We live in a world that has many people with no desire to soar, and they will never reach the heights that God intended for us. Too many Christians are grounded because we have not been taught how to soar like an eagle. Now, “turkey thinking” posits that “living as a Christian is no different than living like everyone else”. However, “eagle thinking” posits that “as a Christian, I think different from everyone else” In Ephesians 4:17-18, “Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.”. Analogous for us today, we can substitute “nonbeliever” for “Gentile” in this passage. The key to how we live is how we think. This behavior is, also, illustrated in Romans 1:21 where Paul describes where he cannot tell if a group is really Christian because their thinking is so messed up. “Turkey thinking” says “I am a sinner always in need”, but “eagle thinking” says “I am created to be like God”. When becoming a follower of Jesus, we become a new creation, and the Spirit of God indwells us; therefore, God is in our lives as we live our lives. In this context, “turkey thinking” would say “I'm just a sinner and I'm stuck”; but “eagle thinking” says “I'm created in the image of God”. We should be different from those nonbelievers living in today's culture because we have Jesus living in us. However, many of us have been “Turkeyized”; but with Jesus in our lives, we can soar with the Eagles! TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, Sabbath rest is truly an unbelievable gift! Thank you that there is nothing I can do to earn your love; it comes without any strings attached. As I close my eyes for these few minutes before you, all I can say is, thank you! "I feel like I was underlooked a little bit on social media. Everyone was talking about Cam (Myers) and Olli (Hoare) and Stewy (McSweyn), but I think that kind of worked in my favor. There's no pressure – I had everything to gain and nothing to lose. So I was like, “Alright, let's go out here and have a crack at it.” I think it was kind of a blessing in disguise almost." Wisconsin's Adam Spencer is the Australian 1500m national champion. He was the runner-up in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Championships back in March. In Adelaide, he just narrowly beat out fellow Badger legend and Olympic finalist Olli Hoare. It was widely considered the best 1500m field in Australian history and it delivered with a tactical race that came down to the final 100 meters. Adam has the Olympic standard from his 3:31 personal best at last summer's London Diamond League. Now, he's just got to prove his fitness to selectors and he'll be squared away to make his Olympic debut in Paris. He did represent Australia at last summer's World Championships in Budapest. We recorded this a few weeks ago and since then, he just won the Big Ten title in the 800 meters. Watch for him as the NCAA season heads into its championship run, where he'll be looking to win his first NCAA title.
