Welcome back to The New Age Sage! In this solo episode, I'm diving deep into the world of Gnosticism—one of the most misunderstood and complex spiritual doctrines. I'll take you through my personal journey exploring Gnostic ideas, unpacking its core beliefs about a hidden supreme God, a deceptive creator, and our existence in a lesser reality. Gnosticism challenges the idea of a benevolent world, suggesting instead that we're trapped in a realm dominated by suffering and illusion. If you've ever wondered about the darker aspects of spirituality, felt disillusioned by traditional religions, or been curious about alternative spiritual paths, this episode is for you. I'm not just here to tell you what Gnosticism is—I'm here to challenge you to think about your own beliefs and confront the uncomfortable aspects of existence that we often avoid. ——————— [00:00] Intro [01:44] Exploring Gnostic Beliefs [03:20] Inverted Consciousness and Material Reality [07:22] Suffering as a Core Experience [12:18] Reincarnation & Spiritual Lessons [15:20] The Simulation Argument [20:19] Ego, Heart, and Loving Awareness [24:21] What Gnosticism Gets Right [28:26] Forgetting and Remembering [31:07] The Hero's Journey in Spirituality [34:12] Alchemizing Darkness into Light [40:12] The Trap of Resentment in Gnosticism [45:34] Conclusion: Loving Awareness as the Ultimate Goal ——————— Please like, comment, and subscribe if this episode resonates with you. You're looking from It, at your reflection that we call 'the world'. We don't change the world/reflection by choosing and practicing new thoughts... the thoughts are the reflection! We do it by recognizing that we are Love.. by choosing, feeling, and BEing Love. Then we see thoughts, feelings, circumstances, and 'others' that mirror that Love back to us more clearly. We see this body practicing Love, treating 'others' as it would want to be treated, singing, celebrating, feeling Go(o)d. By bringing our full attention to the aliveness in the body, we can open to the experience of interior space and the space that includes all sensations and sounds. This then allows us to perceive continuous space filled with the light of awareness. This meditation attunes us to these dimensions of awareness: continuous open space, heart space and full aliveness. We end with a Zen poem that invites us to rest in this living, loving awareness, and know it as home.

In the introduction for this episode, zander, one of SCP's group facilitators and host of baby teeth podcast, speaks on their experience with the online Satsang Hangs and how the invocation creates a container to "enter into this practice of Sacred Community" through authenticity, presence, compassion, and a group intention to "nurture our souls." For the next hour we each agree to attend to five things: ourselves, each other, the group, the world, and the shared Presence unifying it all. We do this as an act of devotion, knowing that God is manifest in all five. We tend to ourselves by being mindful of our thoughts, feelings, triggers, and motivations and by leaning into authenticity, vulnerability, and courage. We tend to each other through attentive, compassionate, non-judgmental listening, by letting go of the desire to fix others or give unsolicited advice, and by leading with appreciation and curiosity. We tend to the group by ensuring that space is evenly shared and that everyone has an opportunity to offer their voice. We tend to the world by acknowledging we are not separate from collective sorrow, collective aid, or systemic influences associated with race, class, gender, sexuality, or ability. We tend to communal Presence by actively cultivating sacred silence and by holding our identities, roles, and ideologies lightly, so the soul can shine through. With this invocation, we ask that the Universal Guru guide us as we enter into this Sacred Space together. We now invite in silence and encourage anyone who feels called to share, to share. -------- Sitaram Dass (K. Action in Sanskrit is Karma. Karma carries the notion the fruit of your actions, comes back to you, you can't escape the consequence of your actions. There is always a cause and effect, for every action has a reaction, for every choice has a consequence. The cause behind your current situation is your past Karma. This way of practice is seeing that life is not just happening to you, it is happening for you. That your'e a sum total of all your choices and actions. That your current life is a continuation of the past. Our opportunity in any given moment is to be mindful of what is (Cit Shakti) listen to our innate wisdom (Jnana Shakti), tap into the resource of energy we have (Iccha Shakti) to make better choices to serve our intention, purpose, desires that lead us closer to spirit, our truth and lasting fulfilment in our lived experience and it is said to have an impact on the quality of our future and future lives.Hatha Yoga becomes a creative, dynamic activity that you can refine the physical, energetic and mental bodies and gain the ability to spontaneously manoeuvre without hesitation to take make things happen. We discover, in this practice, that to accomplish one's intentions there has to be effort, practice and exertion, empowered by loving-awareness which is said to be our true nature. 3 Types of KarmaPrarabhda Karma – Active KarmaSanchita Karma – Dormant KarmaKriyamana Karma – Potential KarmaYou as the Yogi is likened to the Archer. To be a good archer, one needs to practice over and over again refining the skill in making bow and arrows, storing them, choosing the right arrow for the job and aiming then releasing them to the target. Your mindset, posture and what is motivating you all has a place in how skilful you take action to shoot your arrow or not.Prarabhda Karma is Active Karma likened to the arrow in the bow, the arrows that are in flight and the arrows that either have missed or hit the target. Some of these arrows were released in previous life times as it is the Karma you need to resolve in this lifetime, some of these arrows are of those of your family's Karma and most are of all the choices you have taken. Some of these arrows miss their target and it is our job to rectify and make amends of the fallout to our poor aim. Some hit the target and fulfils that life affirming purpose.Sancitta Karma is Dormant Karma. This is represented by the different arrows stored in our quiver of the many different ages in which we have learned how to react or respond to life. On this, the last Sunday in our reimagining advent series we utilize the wise teachings of Ram Dass. Specifically, we lean into the mantra he championed "I Am Loving Awareness" as a touchstone for a gathering. The truth is that loving is awareness and awareness is loving. One is not without the other, so to sit with one is to be drawn into the other. This is our path to love. This is our path to awareness. --- If you would like to join live, please visit: SIT CLUB If you would like to donate to Davin as an energetic exchange for these offerings, please do so here: DONATE -- Born out of the pandemic, Sit Club began in September of 2020 and continues every Sunday morning at 10am CT. Typically an hour in length, an intimate group of all ages, genders and races, from all over the world gathers on Zoom to sit in guided meditation, contemplate a reading and then share in conversation. Each gathering is centered around a spiritual theme chosen and guided by Davin. Youngs Buddhism is often the framework through which the readings and practices are approached, but no particular religious or philosophical ideology is subscribed to. There are no requirements, special skills or abilities that are necessary to attend. Just an open heart and a desire to connect with a community of seekers.

Fish, as he refers to himself, has so much wisdom to share, I already knew from before we started recording that it would not fit into the usual 45 minutes of this podcast. I knew Fish from Instagram, where I became intrigued with his approach of conscious communication. Listening to some of the podcasts where he had been a guest, I've been so drawn to what he shared in his capacity as a coach and through his unique approach. In episode 51 and 52 he takes us through how he dealt with his own grief, using the approach of conscious communication with himself: first he honestly acknowledged and validated all his thoughts, then felt into the actual emotional experience. From there, he entered the field of his yearning, and the longing in his heart which he recognized and honored, even when it – in the case of his loss – could not be met. Bringing loving awareness to the whole experience, without wanting to change it, makes every component of the experience matter. Fish says we are not usually bringing loving awareness, but we are trained to respond to pain by usually dismissing, minimizing, comparing, assigning fault, understanding, or fixing when what it actually needs is validating it.  Ok, I won't say more but I can promise you with certainty that if you listened to one episode, you would want to listen to the other too.  About this week's guest James Gill (aka ‘Fish') is a heart coach, yoga teacher and transformational facilitator based in Australia and working internationally. Sarah Marshank has lived many lives: college student, lover, Orthodox Jew, escort, celibate monk, truth-seeker, recluse. As we all do in some fashion, Sarah embarked on a hero's journey to answer her deepest call: to be a teacher. Through these diverse and rich experiences, Sarah now shares what she's found to be the most helpful principles and practices for being a "self" in the world. What exactly does this look like? This episode explores the "self" in all its complexity and beauty. Sarah Marshank is the founder of Selfistry, a unique learning system for mastering the art of being human. She's the author of Being Self-ish: My Journey from Escort to Monk to Grandmother and Selfistry: A Guide to Embodying Timeless Spiritual Wisdom. Based in California, Sarah teaches and speaks internationally, offers online programs, consults with corporate clients, and works one-on one with individuals. Her training as an educator makes her an effective and impactful facilitator, but Sarah's embodied presence is what touches people the most — the fruit of spending ten years in personal retreat. Her superpower is how she weaves Eastern philosophy and Western psychology into a process that yields profound authenticity. Sarah loves to guide people towards this deep and sustainable encounter with themselves. In this episode, Sarah and I dive into: -Sarah's background: from her childhood in Detroit, to being an educator and orthodox Jew, to going on retreat for 10 years, to finally arriving at the work she does now with Selfistry. -The relationship between "Source," "Self," and "Witness" as Sarah understands it. -Working with the "messy" parts of ourselves: our flaws, habits, addictions, wounds, and all the things we want to change within ourselves - how we can both work on these things AND hold "loving awareness" (i.e., The Witness) for all of the beautiful messiness in its entirety. -Why attempts to transcend the "self" may not be so helpful. -Why "The Witness" helps us mediate between what the universe wants for us, and what we're actually doing. -How suffering works as a "feedback mechanism" that keeps us on track with what the universe wants (i.e., Source). -Meditation as a "self-improvement" project and how to even hold loving-awareness for this! People who are tested in their work are being challenged in their belief in how present the silence is and how much it provides and cares for them. The struggle for survival is moved by the fear that we are all alone and the world is against us. The love in the quiet reminds us that we live in God's midst, which is full of purpose and meaning and caring. It is through living in the monastery without walls that our worries about survival give way to trust in the silence. The sacred moments melt our fears, giving way to a practical life full of the joyous essence. We are each called to a work that gives fulfillment. Fulfilling work separate from a life full of silence is not possible. We are called to work for the silence, in the silence, with the silence, and feel the love of the silence working through us."-Dr. Bruce Davis,  Monastery Without Walls: Daily Life in the SilenceThe deeper the self realization of a man, the more he influences the whole universe by his subtle spiritual vibrations, and the less he himself is affected by the phenomenal flux. Hi, my name's Adam and I've been clean and sober now for over 9 years, racking up daily gains and wins, growing strong odaat (one day at a time) since seeking help and changing my life in 2013. If I hadn't, jails, institutions and death were to be my fate—instead becoming addicted to bettering myself and helping others better themselves. I was a very insecure child, uncomfortable and feeling of loneliness all too common, which led to some serious bullying. I turned to drugs and alcohol to cope, the only things that made me feel ok and started dealing at age 14. Got kicked out of my mom's and dropped out of high school, and so the high cost of low living in the fast lane going nowhere fast ensued. Full-time career using and selling, had my own place early on, even a vehicle with no licence. Hanging with the wrong crowd, but feeling that false sense of belonging, respect, strength, and people feared me, taking away all my insecurities and I was invincible. My life of addiction and crime riddled with jail stints, violence, near death experiences, drug deals gone south, crazy long benders, and ultimately, loss of friends and family, and almost my own life.  When I finally decided to turn my addictive personality into a positive direction; started going to the gym and working out everyday; got addicted to learning and accumulated many certifications and knowledge adding to my lived experience.  Today, I'm on mission to help others the same way I was but with a more specific and holistic approach through the @theaddict2athletemethod, focusing on taking care of the mind, body and soul by combining the 12 steps and meetings, breathwork, sober coaching/peer counselling, and addressing past trauma. Why do Breathwork? To truly understand the power of stillness and the power of the breath to quiet the analytical mind to remember who they are and where they come from. To become a more self aware being. My definition of self-awareness: It is the awareness that you (the Soul) are not your Avatar (the body and mind/brain).  It means that you have become aware/awakened and/or remembered that you are a Soul/Entity that is having a human experience with your Sentient Being.  It means becoming aware that you have been on autopilot... identifying with all of your human experiences, deeply conditioning you to a low vibration (anxiousness, fear, shame, etc.)  It means you are now aware and have come to the understanding that you need to heal and or retrain your Sentient Being/Avatar (the body and mind/brain) WITH LOVE through STILLNESS/PRESENCE... BEING, so that you can raise to your TRUE vibration... LOVING AWARENESS (acceptance, empathy, forgiveness, etc.).  To discover your true power and potential as a Sovereign Light Being... God! I love helping others reach their goals, nothing makes me happier than to work with individuals who are motivated and ready to also be the game changers in their lives. I am a mental health and recovery advocate.  My qualifications are as follows: Mental Health & Addiction Treatment Field: Certified Trauma Recovery Coach  Certified Sober Coach  Certified Breathwork Therapist Certified Addiction Supervisor/Peer Counsellor Fitness & Nutrition Field: Certified Elite Personal Trainer Certified Nutritionist Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified FRC Mobility Specialist Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist  Facebook | Instagram

Cut on some music, take a shower, change the scene (switch rooms) if you can...pause, breathe, smile.  And then let Love move that body into right action.  Let Love heal everything, because It is everything. Bonus content:▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmorningsGo(o)d Mornings merch:▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmornings_______________________**I'm on vacation/pilgrimage/a self-care break!
