Teachers, tell me if this sounds familiar: When you first start teaching, it's survival mode. Next thing you know you're barking orders, becoming the disciplinarian. It's natural, instinctual, understandable. But in order to avoid the trap we all fall for, especially with this new generation of students, we need to do what's counterintuitive - what some would call “wasting units and falling behind on the curriculum.” In this episode, you'll learn: How taking a mindful minute with your class every day goes a long way Why building academic stamina is key to a safe and rigorous school environment What it means to integrate community into the curriculum and why it leads to high achieving students Check out episode 2 (0:00) Class in session (2:55) Learning meditation practices in India and bringing Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to high schoolers in Oakland, CA - and how to get successful buy-in (9:20) Building academic stamina as a math teacher (14:20) Getting interdisciplinary with social-emotional learning and math, and bringing the community into the curriculum The Masks, Emotions, and Math Program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXtA5Pg6wUc Join our Skool Community: https://www.skool.com/efc-young-mens-advocates-2345 Attend our Young Men's Conference: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdw6tfn3lZrkBxZRqSqHjTTeygRNIgwk0KKgHRcwlclaS1xag/viewform Create your own mask anonymously at https://millionmask.org/ Email us questions and comments at totmpod100@gmail.com --- Connect with Ashanti Branch: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/branchspeaks/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BranchSpeaks Twitter: https://twitter.com/BranchSpeaks LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ashantibranch/ Website: https://www.branchspeaks.com/ --- Support the podcast and the work of the Ever Forward Club: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/branch-speaks/support --- Connect with Ever Forward Club: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/everforwardclub Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/everforwardclub Twitter: https://twitter.com/everforwardclub LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-ever-forward-club/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/branch-speaks/support

What have you been seeing where only the Christ is? What headlines have you been reading? What friends have you been praying for? What sicknesses have you been believing in? What have you been fearing? What shame have you been feeling? Saint Padre Pio says, "Blessed is the crisis that made you grow, the fall that made you gaze up to heaven, the problem that made you look for God. " That's the only reason why you have problems. To make you stop and look. To stop and feel. I stop and hear, and the hearing of that Silence turns into The Feeling. And It's not a feeling that has an opposite. All you are is Love. All you are is God looking like a person, acting like a person, aging like a person. But what knows the aging? What knows this voice? Don't tell a single soul. I am sure you, only you will understand. Speaking of bread, recently this has been happening quite often. A neighboring farmer suddenly appears with fresh bread for us. He seems to arrive on the very days when our cupboards are quite bare. Somehow he knows just when we are getting hungry. But the moment we sit down and begin to eat this bread, I swear to you Francis, it is not bread! It is the actual love of our Lord. There are no words. Our bodies, hearts, and souls are overtaken! There is a presence which can only be described as love more pure then pure. I just sit there in awe and of course, tears. Many of the sisters have the same experience. The others cannot help but feel the peace that is suddenly in the room. We don't tell anyone. But I can share this with you, Franics. Thank you dear Francis. Thank you that I can share so completely. What do you hear when thinking stops? When wanting stops? Ask yourself that question and linger in the silence behind the question. Who am I when I want nothing? ... Before I went to India, I was told in a very Divine way by someone sent to me, to come there with an empty heart, and an empty mind, not wanting anything, not desiring anything, not craving anything, not seeking solutions or answers, not seeking anything, not expecting anything at all. And I felt it. I heard that message so clearly. And of course, the mind came up and I said, "Well, how do I do that? How do I go about doing that?" And he said, "just Love God." The Loving replaces the wanting. It eclipses it. You just keep quiet. You go where there are not words, and you find the Love (t)here, and you place your attention (t)here. The wanting may still be (t)here, but your attention is on the Loving, it's on the having. He said, "You come like that, you come empty and open, and you'll get everything you want. Everything you wanted. That's the secret. How intuition expands talent, creativity, confidence & happiness I have been waiting a long time to record this podcast! To say I am excited about the Intuition Process for children is putting it mildly. I believe this program, with its teachings and the power and integrity of the organisation behind it, has the ability to change the world and, as my guests say, contribute to world peace. The documentary and the Australian research are also going to be amazingly powerful. So, let me begin by asking you a few questions… Do you believe in intuition? How often do you access it? Are your children more intuitive than you? Do you think it is important for them to harness their intuition? Today, I have Mala Sundareshan, International Program Director of the Intuition Process, with me. Mala works for the global Art of Living non-profit organisation founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and is currently leading the teacher training and rollout of the Intuition Process worldwide. I also have a dear friend and documentary filmmaker, Michael Collins. Michael is a four-time Emmy-nominated director and producer and the founder of Thoughtful Robot Productions. His films are highly impactful, have been screened globally over the last two decades, and have even changed laws! Mala and Michael share their experiences and insights into following and teaching children aged 5 to 18 techniques to harness what seems like magic or superpowers. The Art of Living says the Intuition Process wakes up our latent intuitive potentials through specific techniques of brain activation and meditation. Allowing children to access, cultivate and maintain their inherent intuitive capacity. “Intuition is the faculty of knowing or understanding something without the need for conscious reasoning or proof. As a culture, we have learned to follow our rational thinking as we go through our daily lives. We pay little attention to our inner voice, our gut feeling, that instinctual form that goes beyond our reasoning layers. We were all born with a naturally intuitive ability to perceive beyond our senses. As we grow, our culture and education obstruct us from developing our capacity to access our inner potential, especially when we need them most.” Today, we talk about: If intuition is an essential aspect of human experience? If intuition can be developed and honed over time? How intuition differs from coincidence How intuition might change the education system? (Fingers crossed for this one!) What children are gaining from learning the process of intuition and how that unique expression occurs in each child. And the research into the mechanisms of intuition by Joel Pearson, world leading neuroscientist based at UNSW, Sydney, Australia. This will create a revolution in not only Artificial Intelligence but Absolute Intelligence! I hope you enjoy. Why are you so tired, when 'I' perform(s) that which is given you to do? It's My responsibility, My battle, not yours. That's My meeting. That's My commute. That's Me stirring in you. Love stirring. That's why I gave you this day-- to pray ceaselessly, to feel My Love constantly, no matter what you think you're feeling, no matter what you think you're seeing, no matter what you think you're hearing... You're silently knowing-- only God is here, only Love is here, and I Am that. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way.]" -Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP "Doubt is an unstable state where your foot is neither on this shore nor on the other. This leads to tension. One way or the other, take a direction and regain your footing. Have you noticed that you usually doubt the things that are positive in your life? You don't doubt negative things so much. You doubt a person's honesty, and you believe in his dishonesty. When someone is angry with you, you have no doubt about his anger. But when someone says he loves you, a doubt creeps in: Does he really love me? When you are depressed, do you ever think: Am I really depressed? No, you accept your depression as a fact. Yet when you are happy, you doubt: Am I really happy; is this what I really wanted? You doubt your capability, but never your weakness. Look at this tendency to doubt the positive things in your life. Doubt the negative and put your trust in the positive. Put doubt in its proper place and doubt the doubts." -Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, A Note to a Sincere Seeker "There is a breakthrough breaking through. The atmosphere is heavy with blessings and the Lord is saying, "Any moment now! Stay in position! Prepare!" Do not back track! Deny the enemies lies and tactics. This is your time!" -@Godlywaiting "Old feelings will resurface. Old thought patterns will resurface. Things you thought you got over will come back up. But who you are in relation to them is what changes. You don't have to hold so tight like you once did. You have a greater capacity now. You have the chance in the moment of extreme discomfort, to know yourself beyond it. These things don't come back up as a punishment. It's to show you who you really are. Be still. Be gentle with yourself. You're doing amazing!! I love you!!" -@sistercody via IG "Just because 'seeming' challenges come up, does not mean that you're not Self-Realized, or Spiritually Enlightened." -Ray A. McCloud

Ep. 183: Filipina On The Rise and Creating A Movement Based on Passion & Purpose Quote: “Resilience is not always a glamorous badge of honor." Summary: Hey, loves! Welcome to a special replay episode of The Brave Table, where we're excited to revisit and share an inspiring episode from the Filipinas On The Rise podcast hosted by the incredible Krystl Fabela. Today's replay features empowering stories, insightful conversations on often overlooked topics of generational trauma, specifically within the context of being a child of Filipino immigrants, and a celebration of the strength and resilience of Filipina women. In this episode, we talk about… Generational trauma and the importance of acknowledging and addressing this within the Filipino diaspora What it truly means to live life on our own terms regardless of cultural background How coming from a bi-racial background has paved my path in terms of life and relationships Resilience as a double-edged sword as a Filipina woman born from immigrant parents BioKrystl is a Founder, Podcaster, Speaker and Producer with a passion for storytelling, tackling cultural “taboo” topics and for arts-activism for socio-economic justice. She was born in the Philippines and at a young age, immigrated to Canada and eventually to Southern California, identifying as a 1.5th Generation Immigrant. Growing up, she always noticed the lack of Filipino women representation in different industries: from media, to finance, tech, as well as their missing education: on their history, contributions, and their multifaceted narratives. While doing my undergrad at UC San Diego, she became involved in activism after facing a sexual violence and began to fight for policy reform and justice for other survivors. This kicked off her love for advocacy and people's movements. After college, she followed her curiosity around innovation and tech and moved to San Francisco, leading engineering recruiting for several tech companies. She still noticed a lack of diverse representation, and was inspired to begin a Podcast that spotlighted Filipino who were at the top of their fields, and how they got there. Filipina on the Rise began and more importantly, a global movement of elevating Filipino women around the world. We want to have and do all the best celebrations for them. And honestly, it's kind of at the expense of ourselves." Summary: Hey, loves! In today's episode of the Brave Table, we talk about protecting one's energy, especially during the festive season. As mothers, we often find ourselves over-committed and overwhelmed with holiday preparations. Listen in as I spill the tea on how to actually protect your energy – including the freedom to change plans, keeping spaces untidy if needed, and avoiding unnecessary comparisons. Join me as we touch more upon self-awareness of triggers, compassion in interpreting others' actions, and considering the unseen struggles people might be facing. In this episode I talk about… Freedom to change plans: changing plans or canceling commitments last minute; exercising the concept of “ultra-canceling” to avoid overcommitting. Avoiding comparisons by resisting the pressure of societal norms and focusing on what feels right for you and your family to protect your energy. As a society, we've become aversive to the title of Guru, and I think for good cause. But this week's podcast guest, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar, holds a presence and an essence about him that, in my mind, makes him worthy of such a title. Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar is a global humanitarian, spiritual leader, and peace envoy, who has been teaching breath-based meditation techniques for more than 40 years. In this conversation, we talk about the differences between spirituality and religion, the power of wonder, what true tolerance and forgiveness looks like, as well as a Q&A with the live audience that was present as we were recording this. Everything is leading you to right Here. Every moment, every tragedy, every triumph, brings your attention Here. Everything is happening Here. Everything you want is Here. And the more attention you give to Here, the more you'll have Here, the more you'll 'get' from Here. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said just believe in one thing: what you need you will get. When you recognize it, then you are showered with more Grace." -Sri Sri Ravi Shankar "In between two thoughts, what is there? You cannot think two thoughts at the same time. Try it and see. It cannot be done. One has to stop before another one starts. In between the stop of one thought and the start of another, what is there? You are there! But this you is not a person. It is the great emptiness, the womb and source of the universe. God reflects Himself into this universe as you, but you have nothing to do with it. God expresses Himself; God glorifies not you or me: God glorifies Himself. The nearer you approach to that vision, the greater is the glory of God that is being shown forth by you." -Joel S Goldsmith Support the show Beginning Aug 7, 2023 - 'GoOD Mornings with CurlyNikki' will host pre and post roll ads within the back catalogue.

Ravi Shankar said the best form of prayer is, 'being silent and knowing that the Divinity is taking care of everything'. But first It reveals to you that there is no 'everything'. That there is nothing here but It.Nothing here but God.Nothing here but Love.Unlocated, undivided, formless. And once you're able to see past the form, to see through everything, you're given the best of everything. You have to see through it all to receive the best of it all.I Love you, I Am you,Niknikki@curlynikki.comp.s.
