This female comedian has discovered her passion for comedy keeps her happy, and she is eager to share that happiness with you Our chat today reveals Michele's Top 10 ways to Celebrate a ‘Divorcery' (It's very funny stuff!) You can buy me a coffee (or 2 or 3) at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/sadiemarie Michele's delivery is MUCH funnier (so be sure to catch the episode), but As a Divorcery gift from me to you, here is Michele's Top 10 list: Top ten reasons to have a Divorcery: You DIDN'T STAY IN AN UNHAPPY MARRIAGE. PUT UP A SOCIAL MEDIA POST OF YOUR EX AND HIS BIGGEST DARKEST SECRET (ONLY APPLIES TO THOSE THAT DID THEM DIRTY) blurring their face out so that when their lawyer calls it won't matter because its your divorcery. To fly to Vegas, get married, get divorced all in one weekend and its ok because its your divorcery, you wanted to relive the happiest day of your life. To have fling with a really younger guy or woman, and not feel guilty. You can text an exes and it doesn't matter the length or the volatile content of the text because its your divorcery . An excuse to buy yourself a new car, jewelry, or over priced dinner ,YOU MADE IT ANOTHER YEAR MONETIZING OFF YOUR DIVORCE. A reason to max out your ex's credit card that you still have access to, since he still hasn't paid some loose ends of alimony child support or settlement fees. To throw yourself a party and invite all your married friends who try to set you up and have male and female strippers, making them as uncomfortable as you made them during those horrible set ups. An excuse for a girls or guys trip without having mom/dad guilt. An excuse to order your body weight in alcohol because you are surviving doing this sh*t alone and killing it. #HappyDivorcery #Divorcery #MicheleTraina #laughterafterdivorce #DivorcedDiaries #celebratedivorce #Lifeafterdivorce #SadiesDivorcedandHappy #Mentalkdivorce #Womentalkdivorce #Positivelifeafterdivorce #sadiesdivorcedandhappywebsite #divorcepodcast #datingafterdivorce #dating #midlife #LasVegas #datingpodcast #divorceddad #divorcedmom #sadiesdivorcedandhappypodcast
This week on The Divorce Doctor Podcast, I interviewed Michele Traina. After marrying the person from her first long-term relationship, Michele knew it wasn't going to last. As a performer, she felt more of a rush during her on-stage appearances rather than on her wedding day. Michele shares how her attraction to a coworker pushed her to look inward and discover what she wanted from intimate relationships. From that point, Michele knew divorce was the best course of action. Her fearlessness brought her to a life of creative fulfillment and peace with her ex. In this episode, we are once again joined by Michele Traina as we discuss "How to be alone" during a divorce. The emotions that come up, the obstacles we encounter, and who we become in the process, as we learn new ways of being. Michele and I examine what it was like when we experienced it, and share some insights into what we did, and how we did it. I remember thinking to myself before recording this episode how important it is to talk about topics like these, which happened to be inspired by Michele. She had suggested some topics to consider that could make a difference. When I finally became aware of what this topic could mean to someone, I had a brief moment. I, normally create what the points are to what is that is going to be said in a Weekend Nugget, but I leave it loose enough where it can be genuine to the moment. Yet, this time was different. We both freestyled, and allowed what was to come have a place to land, but nothing more. We started with the statement, and then gave in to the process. Giving it the feeling that it was exactly what it needed to be. Becoming a solid piece of reference to anyone who may be going through, or just came out of this feeling no one really knows how to be guided through, which is being alone. I trust that the episode has many little gems inside it. Insights that may serve you in your understanding of what to expect, or be like during the alone process. But what I know you will get is the truth of what it was like for each of us. Being alone, in whatever location you find yourself in, or with whomever may be near you, like a friend, or a relative. Is always going to be your process. Trusting yourself to be in the moment, and not deny what arises will be your biggest guide. Sometimes it takes reaching the bottom of something to know you can't travel any deeper. My hope is that you choose to turn around. Explore what it is, that has you feel like it is a bottom, learn from it, and love the process. What does not break you, will make you stronger.
In this week's episode we share the mic with Michele Traina (Episode 22) to talk about how to manage the first week of a divorce. We get into what that was like for us. We talk about what happened, what we did, and what we suggest is a good idea to do if you are in that situation. It was an absolute pleasure to have michele with us inside this conversation. It felt that this particular topic needed a female's perspective to really bring it home for all of us. I hope you enjoy listening to it, as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.

In this episode we ride shotgun through Michele’s relationship with a married man as she discusses her guilt, his wife, and the connection she shared with him that she wanted to keep. She tells you flat out what happened, no hiding, no dancing around the facts. She gives you front row seating to what it was like to be her in that moment of her life. Then in a subtle moment she distinguishes the reasons for her want. The thing that she desires so badly that she is willing to accept what goes against her. She shares the importance of not screwing up your mentality. Having empathy towards other people and how she now dedicates herself fully to Divorce Diaries and herself as a brand. In this episode Michele settles in and starts telling the truth about what really happened in her dating life. The men, the lies, and her comfort zone. She talks about how she thought she wanted to be a principal and a comedian at the same time. How that worked out and where she is today as a result of that decision. She talks about her concerns with men, condoms and the pitfall of falling for a man who was married and lying to her. This episode is fire! Michele tells it like it is and does not apologize for it. And why should she? She is a grown woman, and like a man has needs. She talks about having a connection and how it was nothing she had ever had before. She shares about how much fun it was and how alive and real she felt. She shares her story with such rawness, that you feel like you are in a coffee shop, the pandemic doesn't exist, and it's just you talking to your friend who you have known since grade school. Fun fact: Since the airing of this episode Michele and I have become friends, and as I am listening to this interview again, I understand why. I love the fact that she is so self expressed inside all the concerns that come up with being a single mom living in Jersey. I hope you find her as beautiful as I do. She is an amazing mother who is funny and serious and everything in between and I am grateful to now call her friend.
In this episode Michele talks about what it was like to be suppressed for such a long time. The sentence that finally ended the marriage and how she turned her divorce into an expression in performance. She talks about what it was like to go out and socialize and what she did so that she could have that without the expenses of doing it. The beauty of Michele and where she makes such a huge contribution is her ability to make the best out of what she has. As you listen to her speak about her life you can’t help but imagine how amazing she is, but to her it is just another day. It is absolutely refreshing to hear stories where you remember your value and what makes you happy, then go for it.We, as people, are sometimes so removed from how amazing we are that we keep building and building without sitting back and just marveling at how much we have done. Listening to Michele share her life as a single parent leaves me no room to say I can’t have that, or I don’t have enough time. She is making her life happen and she is doing it with love and laughter. The best fuel for anything amazing.
In this episode we talk about what it was like to be in the marriage, and then dating during the separation. The details of being with another man intimately, as well as, the expectations of what it was and what she thought it would be. Michele talks about how she was still in her 30’s and buttoning up. It takes a certain type of guy to be comfortable with her wearing skimpy outfits and being a performer and that is who she is and what she needs. As the interview progressed we got really into it and she expressed her thoughts on the choices she’s made with men and her experience or inexperience with intimacy. How she took a couple years off because her daughter was still a baby and she was also nursing and her body was going through changes. She talks about how lonely that time was for her. This episode has a lot of laughter in it, but it mostly holds the space for what happens to a normal person, living in Jersey, who has a child, a divorce, and is trying to make sense of it all.
Say hello to Michele Traina, a mom, a comedian, a writer, a dancer, and an overall powerhouse of a woman that has an abundance of energy and a newfound passion. She describes her first six months like a relief. Starting with the moment she was sure that it was over to sensing it wasn’t going to work before her daughter was born. Her story divorce story begins with a bad lawyer, her daughter getting evaluated, and moving back into her parents house. Get ready to be driven through a Jersey style divorce with Michele. This episode is going to be a rollercoaster ride and you are sitting in the very front row.

Limited sometimes means lesser, but not always. A growing trend in the divorce industry is in limited scope representation is actually providing divorcing couples different and sometimes more rich experience where they engage an attorney in critical points of their divorce, but handle much of the details themselves. This is especially popular when a budget is substantially constrained.Join us for a discussion with Sandra Crawford for Law Crawford P.C. on the merits and benefits of limited scope representation. Also joining the discussion are Michele Traina from The Divorce Diaries and Hirsch Serman, MBA, CPA from Lifecycle Financial.About Sandra CrawfordFor the past 29 years Sandra has dedicated her legal practice to educating and leading clients to the clearest path to resolution of their unique legal issues. She helps distressed families and partnerships move out of conflict using the most appropriate legal dispute resolution model, be that: the Collaborative Practice, mediation, limited scope representation or litigation. As legal disputes and status adjustments (like dissolutions of marriages or partnerships) can be costly in terms of money, time lost, and emotional stress, it is critical for people facing such life changing events to be educated about and understand clearly their legal options and the various paths to resolution available before proceeding.Sandra received her undergraduate degree from DePaul University in 1984 and her Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in 1989. She has been a practicing mediator since 1994 and was among the first attorneys in Illinois to be trained in the Collaborative Law model of dispute resolution when the model was introduced here in 2001. Sandra’s areas of concentration are Family Law, Mediation, and Real Estate She works throughout Cook and the surrounding counties.Sandra has served on the nonprofit board of directors of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois, where she has held the office of President. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Bar Foundation, which administers grants and funding for legal services agencies. She was a two term member of the Illinois State Bar Association Assembly and Chair of the ISBA’s Women in the Law Committee. The health and mental benefits of laughter and humor are irrefutable. Even medical professionals acknowledge that laughing can have an amazing impact of people dealing with stress and difficult times. Divorce is no different and the positive effect that humor can have on someone dealing with divorce can be astonishing.Join us for a conversation with comedian, performer and educator, Michele Traina, who brings humor to divorce through he show, The Divorce Diaries. Also joining the discussion are Hirsch Serman, MBA, CPA from Lifecycle Financial and Sandra Crawford JD from Law Crawforn PC.About Michele TrainaMichele is a performer and educator with over 15 years of onstage and offstage experience in using performance to help people, heal, grow, and learn. She earned a Theatre Degree from Adelphi University in 2003 and toured throughout the country for 5 years performing in various musicals and children's theatre productions and training at Upright Citizens Brigade. Michele earned a Master's in Educational Theatre from NYU in 2009, she was a teacher in Trenton for 3 years where she developed a performing arts program for urban youth in an alternative charter school. The school was shut down by NJ in 2012 and Michele took some time off to enjoy my newborn daughter Grace. Shortly after she started my own company Propbox Players designed to engage, excite, and educate using theatre for the youngest thespians. Geared towards infant to early childhood, Michele reshaped Propbox Players to be one of the only theatre companies that specializes in inclusion performances. This was inspired by my daughter's developmental delays and how cognitive development is enhanced through role play and movement. Propbox Players performances are interactive comedic retellings of fairy tales and original concepts. In going through a divorce, she took a theatre teacher position in Hoboken Public School district and earned a supervisor and principal certification in the state of New Jersey. As an educator, Michele has built relationships and collaborations with Broadway Licensing, McCarter Theatre, The State Theater, and multiple colleges that connected my students to artistic and academic opportunities. Recently Michele transitioned back to performing full time because of the success Divorce Diaries has had and opportunities to travel with the show throughout the country. Divorce Diaries is performed monthly in NYC and NJ and has been performed in Las Vegas, Chicago, Nashville, Huntsville, Birmingham, Naples, and Albany to name a few. It follows my post-divorce journey as a single mom teaching kids with special needs and dating men with special needs. The success of Divorce Diaries and Propbox Players offers with school districts and libraries showed me that it was time to leave a fulltime position as an educator for a school district and focus on my brands under my name. Michele is a performer and educator that uses humor to heal, grow, learn, and inspire one to live its best life. Also let us know if there are questions on divorce, separation and starting over that you want our need answered at info@splitready.com.Are you considering divorce? Divorce Diaries Show Creator Michele Traina If you do not ask the question, then the answer will always be no.
