Parental alienation is one of the most heartbreaking and complex challenges parents can face during and after divorce. It leaves families fractured and kids caught in the middle, often feeling torn between two parents. In this episode, I dive deep into the court system's current approach to parental alienation and why it so often fails to protect children. If you've been alienated from your child or fear it may happen, this conversation is essential for understanding what's at stake and how you can fight back. Together with Michele Locke, Esq., we explore the limitations of the legal system and why parental alienation cases are so hard to navigate, particularly when it comes to jury trials. Michele shares her personal and professional experiences, from her time on the bench handling over 5,000 family law cases to her private practice dealing with the most extreme custody battles. Her unique perspective, having been on both sides of the courtroom and living through divorce herself, sheds light on the deep-rooted issues that plague the system. Michele is a former Associate Family Court Judge with over two decades of experience as an attorney, judge, and advocate. She's fought in the trenches, witnessing firsthand how parental alienation plays out in real life. As a lawyer in Texas, the only state that still allows jury trials in custody cases, Michele brings us behind the scenes with stories from her career, offering valuable insights on how to approach these cases and protect your rights as a parent. Whether you're currently in the middle of a divorce or simply want to prepare yourself, you'll walk away with actionable steps and a better understanding of how to navigate this difficult terrain. A year & a half after moving from Eagle, CO, a place I had spent 27 years of my life & a place I never thought I'd leave, I decided to venture back.  My original reason for leaving was spurred on by divorce, house sale, inability to afford living there on my own, as well as a need to decompress, and so I headed to NC to spend time with my parents.Although I initially planned to head back to CO I found myself comfortable in where I was and no longer feeling the almost unbearale pull to return "home". That being said, I still had a desire to return for reasons other than just going back to see friends and possibly pick up work shifts from some previous employers. What were those reasons? I wasn't really sure. I couldn't pinpoint what was feeding my inner desire to return to the place where I felt I had lost so much.  Well... now that I'm here I'm finding answers to all my questions! First & formemost I discovered I've come back to leave differently! I originally left feeling angry, sad, mad, overwhelmed, afraid, and as though I was being pushed out! I felt very much like a victim.  Well now I'm going to leave on MY terms! :) But it's taken me returning to realize the purpose in my returning ;)  Have YOU ever felt as though you had to leave somewhere before you were ready? Ever felt the need to return to, or revisit, a place/job/relationship/etc. that you felt you had "unfinished" business with?  If so, perhaps you'll hear in this episode something that inspires you to go back and find closure so as to honestly & authentically get on with YOUR life. As of today I am truly living my BEST life! A life beyond my wildest dreams! And the coolest part is that it looks NOTHING like I thought it would/should ;)  Here's to facing fear, healing, and perhaps GOING BACK TO LEAVE DIFFERENTLY :) **DISCLAIMER: Please take note that any references to ketamine infusions or any other form of medicinal treatments, mainstream or non mainstream, are strictly meant to provide an insight into my own experiences. Always Forward with Joe Sikorra

Divorce rates are increasing around the world, and relationship experts warn the pandemic-induced break-up curve may not have peaked yet. But there is HOPE!You may feel rejected, angry, hurt, or that life is out of control. When the Apostle Paul thought all was lost, here's how he responded: "We don't want you in the dark, friends, about how hard it was when all this came down on us .... It was so bad we didn't think we were going to make it. We felt like we'd been sent to death row, that it was all over for us. As it turned out, it was the best thing that could have happened. Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally—not a bad idea since he's the God who raises the dead! To heal, you must not rely on the power of you, but the power of God! Peter says "Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God" [1 Peter 1].Don't deny your difficulty feelings. See them. Accept them. But you don't have to react to them. Jesus reminds you to not run from the suffering. He says to pick up your cross and follow.Think about resources to help you regulate your overwhelming emotions. Hate. Revenge. Despair. These won't help you. Find healthy responses to stress and dark emotion, like prayer, exercise, relationships. You must be proactive in self-care.Your children have their own journey. Make time for them. Listen to understand what they are feeling. Don't bad mouth your spouse to them. Remember, your ex is still their parent. Although you couldn't make your marriage work, you must work together to coparent - to the best of your ability.Avoid the rebound relationships. You might be feeling fragile, unloveable, and looking for someone else to fill that void. God says you are lovable. Learn to love yourself. Let God's love fill you up.There is hope and recovery. Be compassionate with your self. You won't be at your best. And be compassionate with others. If you are getting too down, check your focus. You may be focusing exclusively at what is wrong. See the good. Paul reminds you, "Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse" [Phil 4].You can heal. Don't give up. One step at a time.

Star Actress, singer & podcaster Jana Kramer opens up to the guys after her recent divorce and describes how she was able to find peace again.  Jana doesn't hold back in an emotional and pivotal conversation of how she found a way to climb up after hitting rock bottom in her marriage and family life dealing with very public relationship issues. Being in the spotlight, everyone thinks you have a perfect life until it becomes headlines that your husband is a sex addict and habitual cheater. The cycle of abuse and taking someone back to preserve family values was the hardest situation to bounce back from Kramer explained.  After being married to ex NFLer Mike Caussin, Jana battled through infidelity and her ex going to rehab for sex addiction which spins the conversation as Channing and the guys question whether sex addiciton is really a thing or just an excuse for being a cheater.  The chart topping songstress, with a current number one single Story right now, details that reality of heartbreak and humiliation on how she handled everything playing out on the public stage and even did a show about it. Ryan tells Jana how in their culture, black women often protect their men not sharing what goes on with their relationships outside of the home so he is curious why Jana chose to openly share about her situation.  "I felt if I could help one person heal or learn from my experience then it was worth it," Kramer said. Fred doesn't find her actions petty or weak, he tells Jana she is brave for sharing and being able to bounce back stronger than before.  Kramer says how she was made to believe that the NFL locker rooms breed this type of behavior and the guys are the first to say that is not the case. Ryan speaks up immediately saying the locker room has some very good men and bad choices are a reflection of the person you are not an excuse for your environment. Of course Channing digs further into the sexual conversations and calls out Jana on a recent headline about her new boyfriend having a small penis which she laughs off and says is definitely not the case- "Having a micro penis is not what I said or what he has,"! Continuing the light and humorous tone, Channing challenges Jana to a sing off with Little Mermaid as the two break out into a duet, as they bond over parenting and always wanting a better life for your children.  FOLLOW THE PIVOT PODCAST: YOUTUBE | https://www.youtube.com/thepivotpodcast INSTAGRAM | https://instagram.com/thepivot TWITTER | https://twitter.com/thepivot TIKTOK | https://tiktok.com/@thepivot FACEBOOK | https://www.facebook.com/thepivotpodcast Learn more about your ad choices.
