Teri Granahan, technically, it started as middle child syndrome and a few basement plays which eventually got compounded with the high school crowning of "Most Funny" and "Class Cut Up" that set the wheels in motion. Truthfully, it was a survival skill because "everybody likes the funny kid." The Big Apple I started my comedy career in early 2000 while living in NYC. Right out of the gate I had some good signs- I won New York Comedy Club's Best New Talent in 2003. And went on to perform at Stand Up NY, Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Comedy Cellar trying to get into the scene. Fortunate enough to have shared the stages with some of today's greats like Jim Gaffigan, Lisa Lampinelli, the late, Patrice O'Neil...and so many others! Then I ran into comedian Dave Russo who gave me my first real professional gigs. The irony is that we both graduated together from Wilkes University and had communication classes together. Years later ran into each other performing at Stand Up NY! He took me under his wing where I opened for him at a few colleges like University of New Haven, Wilkes University a few times and gave me some shows in the Boston area with the famous Lenny Clarke! My Home Coming Fast forward a gazillion years my journey through comedy got me on MTV (Apartment 2F with the Sklar Brother's); a close but no cigar audition for AXS LIVE Gotham (great story!). And was making my climb through the circuit. Back in the Poconos: I won Best of Reader polls in 2011 from Electric City and Diamond City polls. Became the house mc at Wisecrackers for a few years when they moved into the Casino, where I also had a weekly spot on 105 the River. Culminating into the final brass ring of making it to the semi finals- TOP 10 females in the industry- in the Ladies of Laughter Competition NYC in 2016. Punchline Philly's Really Funny Comedians (Who Happen to Be Females) Comedy Works Bristol Funniest Females After sharpening my skills running tons of open mics over the years. I moved on to produce comedy shows of a wide variety from fundraisers for several hundreds to small little pubs for almost 10 years. I've performed in clubs, colleges and theaters up and down the east coast, including Gotham NY, Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club, Improv (when it was running in NYC), Broadway Comedy Club, Comedy Cellar, Helium, Punchline Philly, Comedy Cabaret, Sarcasm, Wisecrackers rooms, Wilkes University, Marywood University, New Haven University, Lackawanna College, Penn State University; Ritz Theater, Clemens Center, Waverly Store Front Theater and some theater in Delaware. Also going on record with The Flaming Crab and Quaker Steak & Lube...because you ain't sh*t til you can play those rooms! #terigranahan #standupcomedian #comedy #livewithcdp #talkshow #chrispomay #barrycullenchevrolet #wellingtonbrewery #youtube #applepodcasts https://terigranahan.com/ https://beacons.ai/chrisdpomay https://www.cameo.com/chrispomay https://www.youtube.com/@chrispomaylivewithcdpsport5517/streams

Alternative tragic Americana, invocations for peace & judgment reshaping with bleeding heart stream of consciousness poems.Originally from Connecticut, before becoming a western transplant, Anna May is a singular artist whose songs bear a placelessness that lends to their timeless nature. The deep exploration of heartbreak and trauma has been an ongoing quest throughout Anna's work. Her lyrics have been heavily textured by a lonesome whimsicality that finds itself most at home in the vastness of the American West.Anna's music honors the nomadic spirit with memory, meditation & fresh interpretations of folk music and jazz influence. She honors a hope to enhance connection, humility, healing, and joy among people in the process of parting with typical genre rules.Anna's lyrical sensibility is steeped in wisdom, and layered with evocative musicality and metaphysical embroidery while eschewing the mainstream & parting with platitudes. Anna explores both estrangement and connection while taking cues from artists like Billie Holiday, Shawn Colvin, Neil Young, and Leonard Cohen. As a yogi, pianist, teacher & poet, she masterfully blends all of her influences into her songwriting.Anna has performed at wildflower music & arts festival, treefort music festival, Boston arts festival, water lantern festival, trout lake hall, abbey arts in Seattle, Globe Hall in Denver, Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, Broadway Comedy Club in Manhattan, the Mint in Los Angeles, and many more.Anna May WebsiteSRTN Website

How difficult is it to be somewhere on the LGBTQ spectrum? Now ask yourself if it's difficult to be Jewish. Put those two challenges together and you have yourself one of the most difficult identities to embrace. The intersection of sexual identity, gender identity, and Jewish identity can sometimes harmoniously fall into place. For the most part, it's a challenging and often scrutinized route to follow.  Comedian and writer Raye Schiller jumps onto Bad Jew to discuss their identity, their sexuality, and how it clashed with their Judaism. Having delved into many styles of religious practice, Raye reflects on their journey so far and what it means to study the Torah in the current place they're at. Chaz Volk, host of Bad Jew and ally to the LGBTQ world, workshops with Raye on the best ways to embrace LGBTQ identity while embracing the Jewish journey.  About Raye Schiller: Raye Schiller is a Los Angeles-based comedian and writer known for her razor-sharp wit and her ability to make even the most taboo topics hilarious. As a queer formerly Orthodox Jew, Raye is basically a walking contradiction, and her comedy reflects that perfectly. Raye's infectious energy and unique perspective have taken her to venues around the world, including Paris, Rome, Lisbon and Peru. Today on the Dads with Daughters Podcast, I talk with Dr. Michael King, author of Dad Spelled Backwards: A Journey Through the Maze of Love, Marriage, and Adoption. Mike had never thought much about getting married and becoming a father, but all that changed when, in his fifties, he met Gabriella, his lovely (and much younger) French wife. Together they decide to try to become parents, and they do all they can to make a baby—to the point where Mike wonders if one can die from too much sex.   This candid account by a husband and father is insightful, moving, fiercely funny—and ultimately a testament to unconditional love. Mike tells his story of how, wanting to make his wife happy after realizing that they couldn't successfully conceive a child, he reluctantly agrees to move on to the next phase of potential parenthood—adoption. Unfortunately, domestic adoption is often a long, costly process that takes couples on a roller-coaster ride from hope to despair and back again. Mike recounts how he and Gabriella were connected with one pregnant woman after another until they were finally given a baby, only to have to give the infant back when the birth mom changed her mind. This left them so emotionally drained that they had to decide whether the price of becoming parents was too high and whether it was time to give up.   Such heartbreak might have driven other couples apart, but Gabriella and Mike only became closer; their love for one another grew even stronger, and they did at last get to be parents. “I hope this book inspires people who want to, or are considering whether to, become parents,” Mike says. “We all face obstacles in life, but if love prevails, it's worth the struggle.”   You'll laugh and cry with Gaby and Mike in this heartwarming story of one man's journey into happy marriage and fatherhood.   Dr. Mike King, comedian and pediatric dentist, has built his practice in an unusual way: to relax the kids, he incorporates comedy and magic tricks into his treatment. He has written two children's books, Flossopher and the Brushing Trees and Enamel the Camel. Entertaining is in Mike's blood: His dad owned Sid King's Crazy Horse Bar in Denver, Colorado. In the 1970s and '80s, it was one of the most popular burlesque houses West of the Mississippi, so it was just a matter of time before Mike began to perform for grown-ups. In the comedy-club circuit he's known as “The Fifth Dentist”—you know—“Four out of five dentists recommend sugarless gum." Mike appears regularly at Broadway Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, and Gotham Comedy Club. His musical, The Lap Dance Kid, is in production, and he's also written a one-man show. Mike's greatest joy is spending time with his wife and their daughter. They live in New York City. For more information, visit www.MikeKingWrites.com.
