Welcome back to "Parenting the Intensity!"In this episode, Anouk is joined by Michelle Purta, a passionate marriage coach, to explore the vital importance of maintaining a united front in parenting and fostering harmonious relationships amidst the intensity. Michelle emphasizes the significance of self-reflection, open communication, and the 4 R's method - Reflect, Reveal, Repair, and Reconnect. Together, they shine a light on the struggles parents face when balancing the demands of parenting an intense child with nurturing a strong relationship. There is a lot of confusion about what motherhood, marriage and relationships should look like. Society has an idea of what this should be, the media has an idea of what this should be and our friends and family have an idea of what this should look like. Many women think they are failing because they don't fit within the mold that others have set. What if we could find joy and love in motherhood, marriage and relationships without having to fit into a mold? What if we could use our intuition and self acceptance to create the life we desire? Michelle Purta is a life and marriage coach for moms and host of The Marriage & Motherhood Podcast. She helps unhappy moms who feel lost in their marriage feel happy again. She's a married mom of 3 who had to teach herself how to have a successful relationship because she was not shown or taught how. She has done the inner work that has helped her have the beautiful connected marriage she has today and now she supports moms on how to create the same for themselves through conscious communication and self leadership. That's what this week's episode is all about. Finding Love & Joy in Motherhood, Marriage & Relationships - through using our Intuition and Self Acceptance. In this episode, we are talking about the importance of loving yourself before you can love others, and how this can play out in our relationships with our spouses, children and friends. We are also talking about the power of intuition, and how to use it as a tool in our Motherhood journey. Let's dive in! Here's the Breakdown: 2:11 Getting to know Michelle 5:11 Why she started her marriage and relationship coaching (the story behind it) 11:17 Stepping back into your own power (getting out of your comfort zone) 12:14 Her advice to moms out there 13:45 The challenges she encounters throughout her journey and how she overcomes them. 19:02 Discovering what human design is and how it can help moms and women in general to move forward in a more aligned direction for their life, business and relationships. 25:06 What she recently read to almost all of her clients 26:37 What she loves doing most in her work 29:12 Different tools she's using in her coaching business 30:02 A message to moms that are wanting to build a business 33:10 One of her biggest takeaways going back to her business and her advice to moms out there who may be stuck in a place where they don't want to be 36:05 What inspires her to keep going 38:34 Why is it important to take care of ourselves 42:10 Michelle's favourite author and favourite book Michelle also shares how taking care of ourselves helps us to become the best version of ourselves. Quotes from Episode “In order to find love and joy in motherhood, marriage, and relationships, we first need to understand our own intuition and learn to accept ourselves for who we are.” “Many people struggle to find love and joy in their lives, but I believe it all starts with accepting your own intuition.” “I need to build the business in a sustainable way that supports my life, because that's the whole point of this anyway, not doing it for the money. Money's Nice. Sure, and we need money to survive. But why am I really doing this to be fulfilled? Right? To feel like I'm making a difference, doing work that I don't really feel like is work. It's work that I enjoy. Right? It's purpose driven.” “We have so much more power over our experience of life that we give ourselves credit for. And, the thing that I love to remind people is like, life is not happening to you. We often take this like a victim mentality, like you did this to me, that person did that to me like, no, no, they might have done something, but how you interpret and how you react and respond. That's you. That's your lens. So if you're if you don't like something, take a second process and figure out okay, well, I didn't like that. So this is a sign that something needs to change. What do I have control over? And then act through that.” “you have a defined emotional solar plexus, which means that it would be really important for you to get to know your experience of emotions, so that you can show up in your relationships from a place of feeling empowered, and certain, instead of like heightened and chaotic and then you regret what you did, because you acted out of your emotions instead of waiting for your emotional wave to simmer down and neutralise. So it's just really cool to be able to like, see how they are designed to be in an aligned way and guide them back to honouring who they are at their core instead of who people have told them. “ Follow Michelle's Journey Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/michellepurtacoachin Podcast: http://www.michellepurta.com/podcast Website: http://www.michellepurta.com/ Michelle Purta (Life + Marriage Coach for Moms) Michelle Purta is a Life and Marriage Coach. Her parents did not have healthy communication or a solid foundation together and as a result, she struggled with relationships. Now, she continues to do the work on herself because she wants her kids to have a strong foundation to work off of. More importantly, she does the work because she doesn't want to wait until the kids are more independent or moved out to enjoy life and marriage.
