The Talk of Fame Podcast gotta catch up with Nicollette Sullivan! Nicollette has been surrounded by music her entire life. Both of her parents are singers; her dad was the lead singer in a hard rock band and her mom sang backup for various bands. Exposed to hard rock and metal from dad and Soul, R&B, Classical, and Funk from mom, Nicollette had a diverse musical experience growing up. Meanwhile, with her mom and grandmother, she was steeped in classic, black and white films, and period pieces. It was watching these films that led to Nicollette's discovery of some of the artists that influenced her musical development; Such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Nina Simone. Through musicals and singing in choir while in school, Nicollette began developing her voice by pursuing singing professionally after high school. It was then that the writing for her debut album began. Over the next few years Nicollette's "voice" and brand developed. Today she is working on her sophomore album and continuing to grow, evolve and develop as an artist. Do you present yourself one way in dating and then make a switch when you get comfortable (or uncomfortable!) in a relationship? Or maybe you’ve experienced this with someone you were dating or in a relationship with — they seem to be one person when you first meet them but then almost literally become another person after a while of being together. And we aren’t talking about just a dramatic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation where someone flips into monster-mode. Maybe they just become clingy or distant or insecure or whatever the opposite is of who they presented to you in the beginning. (An example of this can be observed in the binge worthy Netflix show, LOVE IS BLIND.)In this episode we talk about why this happens and how people match up like puzzle pieces based on what we call the ‘Love Persona’. Each of us has a Love Persona that we may not be conscious of. It’s been cultivated based on the defenses we developed as children to protect us against the big bad world. These emotional experiences lock us into patterns that teach us how to relate to others and put our “best face forward.”Debra and Dr. Rob answer this listener question: Dear Deb & Dr. Rob-I’m 38 and have been divorced three times. Well, one of those was an annulment I just went through with my third husband. He filed the annulment citing “fraud”! I am so embarrassed. I am the most honest person you’ll ever meet! Anyway, my lawyer asked him to explain his reasoning and he finally sent me a text message saying that I wasn’t the woman who he thought he was marrying and that he felt deceived or hoodwinked because I “flipped the script on him”. Even though part of me wanted to drive over to his new apartment and tell him off but the other part of me realized that I’d kinda heard this before from my exes. Is this possible? Can I really be that different after getting married? Help!*Nicollette They explain how Nicollette needs to do the inner work and let her true self come out so she can express it in relationships and make love last. Join us for this episode and learn something interesting about your own Love Persona! *named changed to protect privacyLearn more about YOUR Love Persona and how it affects your intimate relationships. In this episode, we welcome professional fashion and beauty photographer Nicollette Mollet. She has had a long obsession with fashion and beauty, thriving by taking the average person and transforming them into the very best version of themselves. She graduated from The Art Institute of Dallas and has been in this industry for over a decade. To Nicollette, reinvention is something that she’s constantly doing in all parts of her life. Through this, one of the most valuable lessons that she has gained is how to be assertive. We hear about why this wasn’t easy to achieve. Sarah then brings up how your future self can motivate you towards your goals. Just recently, Nicollette ended a relationship with someone she was engaged to. This comes back to reinvention, because she realized that she was about to embark down a path that was not right for her. We hear about how this has turned out to be the best decision for her; she didn’t realize what was happening in her relationship until she ended it. One thing that Nicollette wishes women would do better is listening to their intuition. Nurturing our friendships is important, but we also need to remember to love our men and not become their enemy. See your future self in your mind and respect the voice that tells you to reinvent yourself. To reinvent and keep moving forward is to be alive, and you can use tools explained in this episode to keep you grounded on your journey. You are necessary, and so is your future self. Where Hollywood Hides: Television | Movies | Music | Show Business | Writing | Producing | Directing | Acting

Suzanne begins with the announcement of a new “Music” category at www.WhereHollywoodHides.com, and—while reminding us she’s sooo much younger than Bob—lays claim to being a lifelong Beatles fan.  For his part, Bob admits that he’s just “a rock-and-roll kind of guy” and would’ve bet the farm that I Want to Hold Your Hand would never make the charts.  So much for his musical tastes...   The episode moves on to what Bob himself describes as his “greatest career failure” while under contract to Aaron Spelling Productions writing and producing Dark Mansions for ABC-TV.  It’s a tale of classic Hollywood casting politics as Bob sets the record straight as to exactly why former movie queen Loretta Young never got the part in the film that eventually went to Oscar winner Joan Fontaine.   Bob reveals the nature of production and budgets in Spelling’s 1980s-era Hollywood, as well as the rationale (follow the money!) for the  excessive proliferation of producer credits seen on Dark Mansions.  With a tip of the hat to the talents of Linda Purl, Michael York, Melissa Sue Anderson, Nicollette Sheridan, and director Jerry London, Bob’s confidence in the show never prepared him for the horrible results of an evening of sneak-preview  audience testing.  It’s the story of how a “hit movie” with the promise of becoming a network television series became an instant embarrassment for all... as well as an immediate career bump for the fool who wrote it (that’d be Bob).   Going from “Golden Boy” to “Bob who?”, and proving the truth of when you’re hot, your hot, and when you’re not...you’re not, this episode is a good illustration of the pitfalls to be found on the Hollywood career path for any writer, actor, producer, or director.
