The Lions put together a complete game on Saturday night, soundly defeating visiting CF Montreal to the tune of 3-0 at Exploria Stadium. Orlando City needed that victory, which snapped a modest, two-game winless streak (0-1-1). Facundo Torres, Rafael Santos, and Dagur Dan Thorhallsson were particularly good but the entire team played a solid match. We break down the victory — Pedro Gallese's ninth shutout of the season — and check back on our score predictions. We also give our selections for Man of the Match and tell you which of our picks made the MLS Team of the Matchday for his performance. Orlando City B played its first MLS NEXT Pro playoff match and performed well on the road, but still lost 2-1 to Columbus Crew 2. The difference in the game was conceding two penalties. The Crew capitalized on both, despite the fact that Javier Otero saved one of them. In the end, there wasn't enough offense from OCB and two penalties conceded too many. Those kinds of mistakes are difficult to overcome anywhere, let alone on the road in the postseason. Still, it was a good season for the Young Lions and a much more entertaining one than we were expecting. Our mailbagbox featured questions about grammar, becoming friends with past and present Lions, Michael Halliday's future, and more. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, we looked ahead to Wednesday's matchup against Nashville SC on the road, providing our key matchups and our score predictions for the Lions' penultimate road match of the 2023 regular season in a week that's shaping up to be critical in terms of where Orlando City will finish with regard to home field in the postseason. Here's how No. 380 went down: 0:15 – A complete victory over CF Montreal at home. 25:36 – OCB bows out of the playoffs quickly, but weird things happened, so you know it was an authentic Orlando City B match. 40:37 — Our mailbagbox has some interesting questions for us Learn more about your ad choices. As special and memorable as Saturday's win over the Columbus Crew was, Wednesday's match at New York City FC was the polar opposite. The Lions played one of their most forgettable games of the season in a lethargic 2-0 loss on the road. The Pigeons played well, so give them credit, but that was not the Orlando City we're used to seeing. The Lions lacked ideas, urgency, energy, and — perhaps most of all — the ability/desire to track attacking players defensively. The Lions simply were unworthy of bringing three points home from New York City during the midweek. That said, the team's body of work on the season was rewarded with the Lions' fourth postseason berth in as many years. We break down a game we didn't want to talk much about, check back on our score predictions, and make our unanimous pick for Man of the Match. After that chore, we checked our mailbagbox, where we were asked about Orlando City's biggest rival. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. OCB will close the regular season with a home match, looking to secure fifth in the Eastern Conference when FC Cincinnati 2 visits Kissimmee on Sunday afternoon. Finally, we previewed Orlando City vs. Inter Miami, discussing our key matchups and score predictions and voicing some concerns that the NYCFC loss doesn't turn into two. Here's how No. 377 went down: 0:15 – Orlando City and Ramiro Enrique went from high to low in just three days. 20:47 – Our mailbagbox and Orlando City B's task in the regular-season finale. 34:29 – Our key matchups and score predictions for Inter Miami's visit on Sunday. There have been a lot of special moments already this season, but Orlando City's three-goal rally from down 3-1 to up 4-3 at the death on Saturday night against the Columbus Crew was special. The Lions came roaring back behind Martin Ojeda, Facundo Torres, and Ramiro Enrique, who somehow found himself in the right place at the right time repeatedly against the Crew. We look back on the lineup changes, the big moments, and a crazy night that was reminiscent of "drunk OCB" at Exploria Stadium. We discuss the Lions who were honored for that performance, check back on our score predictions and make our selections for Man of the Match. Following our look back at Saturday's win, we welcome Andrew Leigh from Hudson River Blue to discuss Wednesday's road game against New York City FC. The Lions haven't always fared well on the baseball diamonds in the north, and Andrew was kind enough to give us an update on the state of the Pigeons. After our chat with Andrew, we discussed Orlando City B's playoff-clinching draw (followed by a shootout win) at Chicago Fire FC II. We honestly should have given this game more time but our Crew rewind and interview ran long (what else is new?), and the important thing is that the Young Lions are in the postseason. We also looked into our mailbagbox, where we were asked about numerous things and we had an answer for all of them, including our three worst Orlando City moments. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, we previewed Orlando City at New York City FC, giving you our key matchups and score predictions for the midweek match. Here's how No. 376 went down: 0:15 – Orlando City's massive comeback to down Columbus at the death. 34:09 – Andrew Leigh tells us all about New York City FC and playing on baseball fields. 59:05 – OCB in the MLS NEXT Pro playoffs, our mailbagbox, and our key matchups and predictions for the Lions' trip to play NYCFC on Wednesday. With another off week for the senior Lions, we turn our attention to the Young Lions of Orlando City B. OCB headed northeast to face New York City FC II in Queens and it was yet another wild affair for the Young Lions. They grabbed an early lead, threw that away, went down multiple goals, and then stormed back for a much-needed three points on the road. We break down the proceedings as "drunk OCB" is back and we got two goals each from Shak and Jack! That wasn't all the OCB news, as Orlando City signed 14-year-old midfielder Gustavo Caraballo to a multi-year MLS NEXT Pro contract. Caraballo becomes the youngest professional signing in the club's history and hopefully he can make his way from the academy through OCB to a career with the first team. Our mailbagbox asked about tracking Lionel Messi favoritism, Doctor Who, and baby names. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, Orlando City returns to action this Sunday on the road against the Chicago Fire. We provided our key matchups for the game and made attempts to predict the final score this weekend. We'll have to check to see how wrong we were next week. As a programming note, there will not be a second show this week. We'll return to our normal two-shows-per-week schedule next week. Here's how No. 369 went down: 0:15 – OCB got a pair of braces in a wild, comeback victory in New York City. 24:49 – A new Young Lion appears! 29:38 – The mailbagbox and what we think will happen at Soldier Field on Sunday night. We're still in the limbo between Leagues Cup and the resumption of the Major League Soccer season, so it's time for the Young Lions to take center stage. Unfortunately, this week that means having to rehash an unsatisfying 1-1 draw against an Inter Miami II side that was down a man for more than half an hour. That draw was followed by an even less satisfying shootout loss. We break down the match and implore Javier Otero to vary his approach a bit more when it comes to spot kicks. Our mailbagbox asked about European teams and players, as well as what constitutes success for Orlando City in 2023. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, Orlando City B midfielder Alejandro Granados was sold to Belgian side Club Brugge. The club did not release the financial details but multiple online reports had the Lions making a cool $2 million for the Spanish youth international. We discuss the rare academy business the club wrapped up. As a programming note, there will not be a second show this week, as there is no Orlando City match. We'll recap tonight's OCB game next week, combining it with the Young Lions' trip to play NYCFC II. Here's how No. 368 went down: 0:15 – OCB struggled to score on the road despite opportunities. 18:45 – The mailbagbox beckons and we've got answers to all questions. 35:15 – An academy sale! Orlando City did just about enough against the Houston Dynamo on Friday night but a highly questionable penalty call spoiled Pedro Gallese's clean sheet and ultimately cost the Lions a point in the South 2 group of the 2023 Leagues Cup. That makes the road to the knockout stages slightly more difficult with a big match coming up against Santos Laguna. We break down a game Orlando should not have needed penalty kick heroics (although those were fun and exciting to watch). We also select our Man of the Match and check back on our score predictions. We then dove into our mailbagbox to answer questions about coaches' challenges and whether or not Martin Ojeda should have given up No. 11 for Junior Urso. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. After the mailbagbox, we discuss the upcoming Fulham-Aston Villa friendly at Exploria Stadium on Wednesday. And finally, we dissected another crazy Orlando City B match. The Young Lions took the early lead, fell behind, then rallied for a big 3-2 home win over Chicago Fire FC II, and it was just OCB being OCB. Get to one of the Young Lions' games soon because you never know what's going to happen. Here's how No. 364 went down: 0:15 – The Lions probably deserved all three points against the Dynamo but they'll have to settle for two. 19:37 – We dip into the mailbagbox and touch on a midweek club friendly at Exploria Stadium. 33:52 – OCB plays yet another wild game and comes out on top.  Learn more about your ad choices. Orlando City finally has a normal work week. But even though the Lions didn't play since our last show, there's still a game to discuss. OCB hosted Philadelphia Union II, looking to keep its unbeaten home streak intact. That did not, in fact, happen. The Union kids came in and took all three points in a lopsided 3-0 win over the Young Lions. The stats say the game should have yielded OCB a better result, but with the visitors striking twice in the first 21 minutes, the final stats are usually not going to reflect the outcome. OCB was unable to break through and make a game of it, both before and after the storm hit, and ultimately the home streak has been broken and the Young Lions will need to recoup those dropped points on the road. We discuss the reserve side's difficult night. In more positive news, OCB and Orlando City Development Academy defender Tahir Reid-Brown has been selected to the 2023 MLS NEXT All-Star Game. We know he'll represent the club well. We were then joined by Ruben Tisch, the managing editor at The Lantern, (formerly Hot Time in Old Town), which is a new subscription-based Chicago Fire newsletter since leaving SBNation. Ruben was generous with his time, letting us know about how Kei Kamara has fit in with the Fire, what former Lion Chris Mueller brought to the team before his injury, what his expectations are for Saturday night, and more. Big thanks to Ruben for his time. We obviously checked our mailbagbox to find questions about how to deprive Messi fans of tickets in Orlando, what might become of Ercan Kara, and our music-related tifo choices. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, we gave our key match-ups and score predictions for Saturday night's matchup between Orlando City and the Chicago Fire at Exploria Stadium. Here's how No. 357 went down: 0:15 – Orlando City B did not have a very good night on Wednesday in Kissimmee. 10:37 – Ruben Tisch jumps on the show and tells us that he's not overly concerned with any individual Orlando City player. 29:20 – Our mailbagbox, key matchups, and score predictions. It's early June, so technically it's still time to do some spring cleaning. Speaking of which, the Lions got their brooms out and swept the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night in Harrison, NJ. Ivan Angulo, Facundo Torres, Wilder Cartagena, and Robin Jansson starred on a night when Orlando City's strategy was to stay organized against New York's chaotic press and wait for opportunities to punish the Red Bulls on the counter. That's pretty much what the Lions did on Saturday and it resulted in a 3-0 win against a team that hadn't given up more than two in a match all season. We broke down Orlando's win in the Garden State and selected our Man of the Match. We also touched on several Lions who were honored for their performances in that game. Oh, and Mikey Halliday is coming home, which is good, but it's because the U-20 USMNT lost in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup quarterfinals, which is bad. After our review of Saturday's match, we opened up the mailbagbox. Among this week's topics were Targeted Allocation Money and buying down Designated Players, along with home form vs. road form. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, we discussed a disjointed Orlando City B performance north of the border against Toronto FC II. The Young Lions never seemed in this game and the warning bells were chiming loudly just 17 seconds into the match. It was not a fun night for OCB. Here's how No. 350 went down: 0:15 – The Lions didn't have their sharpest passing night, but they put the ball in the net three times, which is always a welcome sight. 33:42 – OCB had a very bad night in Canada. 42:31 – The mailbagbox beckons and we don't claim to be experts on the weird player-signing mechanisms in MLS. we have no special guest, however, we still had plenty to discuss. Orlando City B took center stage early this week with a rare Monday night match against New York Red Bulls II. The Young Lions jumped out to an early lead, fell behind by halftime, and managed to stage a comeback to claim all three points. OCB remains unbeaten at home in 2023 after a wild match that of course featured some Jack Lynn heroics. We discuss the Young Lions' win over the Baby Bulls and Lynn's torrid streak. Also, we've had more Shak Mohammed sightings recently, as the 19-year-old Ghanaian has been playing better of late with OCB and he scored his first professional goal on Monday night to win the match. It's a great sign from the Generation Adidas draft pick and we look forward to watching his continued development. After our OCB recap, we opened up the mailbagbox to find a question about Ted Lasso. Don't worry, we handled it with care to keep listeners spoiler-free. Orlando City returned home and once again goals were difficult to come by, which allowed the visitors to score late and take points home with them. The Lions were playing their second straight rivalry match and Atlanta United was ripe for the picking, but Orlando City could only muster one goal from Kyle Smith — getting the PawedCast bump from his appearance last week — and allowed an equalizer in the dying moments of the match. A point is OK but too many of these are feeling like losses. We break down the Lions vs. Atlanta United and give our selections for Man of the Match. We also checked back to see how our predictions went and discussed Smith's MLS honor this week. We switched gears and opened our mailbagbox, making a co-ed team consisting of Orlando City and Pride players, and talked a little music as well. Orlando City went back on the road for a tussle with its neighbors to the south in the latest installment of the Tropic Thunder rivalry. The Lions struck first and last in a good overall performance against Inter Miami and claimed all three points in Fort Lauderdale for just the second time in five visits. Ercan Kara continued to pour in goal contributions with one strike and one assist. Not to be outdone, new Designated Player Martin Ojeda did the same. We're breaking down an enjoyable match in which things clicked on both ends of the pitch for Orlando City, and Oscar Pareja pulled all the right strings. We also made our selections for Man of the Match. Following our match rewind, we welcome The Mane Land Platinum Founder Samuel Atkinson to the program. Samuel wanted to talk about Orlando City and MLS salaries, and we had an interesting chat about the league's pay structure and how OCSC fits into the grand scheme of things. Big thanks to Samuel for the chat, and for his help in us getting our footing as an independent website. We also discussed Orlando City B's comeback against Atlanta United 2. The Young Lions battled back valiantly and probably deserved more than one point based on overall play, but any time a team is down multiple goals and takes any points out of the match, it can only be viewed as a positive. Finally, we dipped into the mailbagbox and answered listener questions about soccer position numbers, movie franchises that overstayed their welcome, and former Lion Chris Mueller. Welcome to the first week of a new era for The Mane Land PawedCast, as we pivot to a twice-a-week system, and drop the Orlando Pride from this show. Our coverage of the NWSL side is being repackaged as its own dedicated podcast, which kicks off this week. It was absolutely the wrong week to switch formats when you consider that Orlando City didn't play this week and neither did the Pride, however, that was also the appeal of doing it this week. There were (and are) bound to be hiccups and so it's better to have those when there's less content. The idea of the switch of this show is simple: our show is rather long for a weekly soccer podcast and it's hard for listeners to find enough time to listen to them all the way through in one sitting. We can bring you more detail and still give listeners a more digestible show if we switch to two episodes per week. This is the first of the two you'll get this week. Since Orlando City was off, we opened the show with some information about our move from SBNation to our own independent site (we hope you like it), the launch of SkoPurp Soccer: An Orlando Pride PawedCast later this week, and the format change for this show. We also touched on some international news that affects one of the more prominent Lions, Facundo Torres. With the senior Lions off, we went into much more detail in our analysis and recap of Orlando City B's 2-0 win over Inter Miami II on Easter Sunday and discussed the honors that Favian Loyola captured after that win. We also discussed the OCSC academy teams at the Generation Adidas Cup tournament. Both the U-15 and U-17 squads had solid runs and were among the academy teams that impressed in the competition, along with the usual suspects (Philadelphia and FC Dallas, to name a couple). And that's our show. Remember, ff there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us anything by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Michael Citro and David Rohe from themaneland.com break down Orlando City's 2-1 road win over the Philadelphia Union and present an exclusive interview with OCSC rookie forward Duncan McGuire. Duncan answers questions from the hosts and the listeners in a fun, candid, relaxed interview. The Orlando Pride and Orlando City B both opened their 2023 seasons on the road this past weekend, but with very different results. Both the NWSL and the MLS NEXT Pro teams' matches go under the microscope a bit and then the topic of conversation turns to the United States Men's National Team, which hosted El Salvador at Exploria Stadium in Orlando on Monday. The guys discuss the USMNT win, advancing to the Concacaf Nations League semifinals, and Daryl Dike's return to his old pitch. After Michael and Dave spend some time answering listeners' questions, the topic of conversation turns toward Orlando City's home match-up with Nashville SC this weekend. Here's how No. 332 went down: 0:15 - The Lions picked up their first road victory of the season and it was only at the toughest place in the league to win for the traveling side. Our breakdown of a big win in Philly. 34:22 - Duncan McGuire jumps in and tells us all about that backflip, transitioning to the professional game, where he's gotten help from on the team, and much more. 50:21 - The Pride got pounded, OCB won by multiple goals, the USMNT won again in Orlando, and our key match-ups and predictions. Orlando City SC extended its winning streak to a season-best three games but that almost didn't happen. Tesho Akindele's header deep in stoppage time turned a good performance with a meh result into a good performance with a great result at the death. Tesho is making late game-winning goals a habit and that's one that we hope he just can't quit. David Rohe and I are breaking down the latest win by the Lions — at home, no less! — and make our selections for Man of the Match. We also talked about the Lions who were honored this week with an appearance on the MLS Team of the Week. While the Lions finally got a streak going, the Orlando Pride saw theirs come to an end. The seven-game unbeaten run was halted in the 92nd minute on Friday night by Megan Rapinoe, who lifted OL Reign to a late 2-1 win over the Pride at Exploria Stadium. It was a massive game as far as playoff implications and a match the Pride really could have used as a springboard above the postseason line. Alas... Orlando City B split the difference between the senior side and the Pride, with a 2-2 draw Monday night at Osceola County Stadium against FC Cincinnati 2. The Young Lions got a brace from teenage sensation Favian Loyola but it wasn't enough for the win. To make matters worse, the visitors won the post-draw penalty shootout, 7-6, to claim an additional point in the standings. Loyola's brace was a fantastic celebration of the MLS NEXT Pro contract he had signed earlier in the day. We look forward to seeing how that young man develops as a player over the coming years. This week's mailbag asked us about Welcome to Wrexham, Only Murders in the Building, the choice we'd make between a cup final appearance and home-field advantage in the MLS playoffs, and the biopics we'd like to see. If there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the next show, just ask by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Finally, we gave our key match-ups and predictions for Orlando City's upcoming match tonight at home against the Seattle Sounders. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Here's how No. 309 went down: 0:15 - The Lions might not exactly have gotten “hot,” but they have picked up some wins and it's always nice to beat New York City FC. 27:31 - The Pride did not win or draw. This displeases us. OCB did not win but did draw. That's fine. 41:29 - We answer our mail and make our predictions for the Lions against the Sounders in a midweek tilt. Orlando City provided the energy rather than the Red Bulls as the Lions beat New York 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to run the team’s record unbeaten streak to nine matches. We’re here to break down another exciting result for Orlando, hand out our Man of the Match, and discuss the mounting injury issues that have cropped up in recent weeks. After our match discussion we check in on the Pride, who were off this past week but some of the team’s players were out and about around the world picking up minutes. The Pride themselves will host Houston on Friday in their first “home” match of 2020 — the game is actually going to be held at Orlando City B’s home in Kissimmee. Our old friend Pat Murphy from Massive Report stopped by to preview the second of Orlando City’s two matches this week — a meeting at home Sunday night against the Columbus Crew. Pat catches us up with all the latest news from Caleb Porter’s team in what could turn out to be a meaningful game in the Supporters Shield race. Our listener mail inquired about lopsided losses in England and Orlando’s new Moniker Kits this week. If there’s anything — and we do mean anything —you want us to address on our next show, just ask by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Plus, we dove into our key match-ups and score predictions for this week’s matches — tonight against Atlanta United on the road and Sunday at home against the Crew. That’s all for this week. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Here’s how show No. 217 went down: 0:15 - The Lions kept on streaking and we’re breaking down how it happened. Plus Pride and OCB talk. 56:04 - Pat Murphy tells us about the Lions’ opponents for Sunday, the high-flying Columbus Crew. 1:22:11 - It’s mailbag time, and then we hit two sets of key match-ups and score predictions. Orlando City still can’t buy a goal right now but thanks to goalkeeper Adam Grinwis — in his MLS debut — and a first-choice back line finally healthy, the Lions grabbed a point at home in a 0-0 draw against the Houston Dynamo. There’s not a lot of scoring to recap, but we do our best to give you the flavor of the game and we do pick our Man of the Match. Marta represented the Orlando Pride well at the FIFA awards by capturing her sixth Player of the Year crown. We discuss her year and how she stacked up against some other outstanding players. We also touched on Rachel Hill returning to Australia this off-season to play for the Perth Glory. USL Senior Vice President of Division III Steven Short jumped on with us to talk about the return of Orlando City B, just how many teams the USL’s newest division will jump to (eventually), the league’s new branding strategy, promotion and relegation, and much more. It’ll be good to see OCB back in business. The mailbag featured some quality questions and we even had a couple iTunes reviews to share this week. Without a game this weekend, we have no predictions but we’ll give you those next week. If there’s something you want us to address on our next show, just ask by tweeting it to us @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Here’s how show No. 143 went: 0:12 - Orlando City welcomed the Houston Dynamo on Saturday and generously refused to score on the visitors. It wasn’t all bad, though, as the Lions captured a point and there were some positives. 27:34 - Steven Short answers questions about Orlando City B’s move to USL D3, the league’s future plans, and how much money it would cost us to make Atlanta United 2 go away. 50:17 - No predictions this week as the Lions are off. Sometimes we can be big ol’ windbags (OK, most of the time), but we really had a lot to discuss this week despite the fact that neither Orlando City nor the Orlando Pride were in action this past weekend. Joining us this week is former Orlando City and current Miami FC center back Brad Rusin, who talks about returning to the City Beautiful for a competitive match against an MLS side he helped build in its early years in the USL. Brad also talked about his journey since leaving Orlando, what the Open Cup means, how he approaches the game, and how he once poached a goal from Tyler Turner. We also answered your questions from Twitter (use #AskTMLPC and hit us up with a tweet) and looked ahead with key match-ups and predictions for Orlando City’s upcoming games.  Here’s how it all went down: 0:12- With Orlando City and the Pride off this weekend, we looked back at OCB’s draw against Rochester, including the Orlando debut of Josh Saunders. Orlando City is coming off its first loss but Orlando City B is coming off its first win. So sometimes good and evil are in perfect cosmic balance. In fact, OCB’s win came Tuesday night, which is our usual PawedCast recording night, so we’re a bit late this week. Never fear, though. We’ve got a great guest and a lot to discuss. Center back Zach Carroll stops by to talk to us about OCB’s first 2017 victory on Tuesday over Toronto FC II. He was involved in the first goal and played well with central defense partner Leo Pereira all night. We appreciate Zach being our guest and his defensive efforts for the young Lions. First up, we run down what happened in Columbus with our picks for Orlando City’s Man of the Match. Neither of us are feeling too bad about the L, although we’d have rather gotten a result. Also, Justin Meram is good. Other topics of discussion are the addition of Luis Gil to OCSC, the departure of Sarah Hagen from the Pride, and plenty more. After we talk to Zach, we started giving you our key match-ups and score predictions for Sunday against the New York Red Bulls but some technical gremlins crept into the audio so I give you the Cliffs Notes version. We also discuss Jason Kreis’ trip to visit Atlético Paranaense in Brazil and what he might have learned from City’s Brazilian partner club while in Curitiba. There’s a lot of good that can come from these types of partnerships and it will bear watching to see how they benefit Orlando City. The Orlando Pride have already made an off-season splash, picking up USWNT defender Ali Krieger for surprisingly little in return. After a week off due to technical difficulties that were somehow not related in any way to Hurricane Matthew, the PawedCast is back -- and with a special treat. Joining us this week is Orlando Pride Head Coach Tom Sermanni for an exclusive interview. Tom is always a great guest and he talked with us about many topics, including the team's overall first NWSL season, what tweaks need to be made in the off-season, the club's attempts to acquire Caitlin Foord, Ashlyn Harris, Alex Morgan and more. You won't want to miss it. Before that, however, we attend to a bit of business, discussing Orlando City's playoff bid being shut down due to the 1-0 loss to the Montreal Impact. We unpack that game a bit and give you our Man of the Match selections. We also discussed Orlando City B's playoff exit at the hands of New York Red Bulls II, although we both thought it was a rather successful first USL season for OCB. And after the interview with Sermanni, we come back with our key match-ups and score predictions for Orlando City at Philadelphia Union on Sunday afternoon. Here's how the show went: 0:11- Orlando City dominated every statistical category but the one that mattered against Montreal, falling 1-0 on the Impact's only shot on target. It was a rough way to be eliminated, especially at home. Plus OCB's first season comes to an end. 18:55- Tom Sermanni calls in and gives us his view of the Pride's first season, his thoughts on how to improve the club for 2017, thoughts on the USWNT and its relationship with the NWSL, and much more. 38:05- We present our key match-ups and final score predictions for Sunday's match between Orlando City and the Phildelphia Union.   Learn more about your ad choices. So the New York Red Bulls had a match against the Philadelphia Union. They came back from a goal deficit, gave up a one goal lead, then won the game. It was an exciting affair for all involved, well, unless you are a Union fan but whatever, you have to live in Philadelphia, so a loss is still a win. Meanwhile, New York Red Bulls II continued their fantastic form in USL, dispatching Orlando City B in the first round of the playoffs by a 4-0 scoreline. Next up is the defending USL Champions, the Rochester Rhinos. Not to be out shined by the baby bulls, Sacha Kljestan joins the United States Men’s Team for two international friendlies. The first against Cuba, the second against New Zealand. Finally, the boys tackle the age old talking point among Red Bull fans, why is the attendance at Red Bull Arena not better? A lot has happened since we last met, constant listeners. Orlando City has played twice, the Orlando Pride has finished their inaugural NWSL season, and Orlando City B has qualified for the USL playoffs in its first year. We're here to talk about all of that.  We're breaking down Orlando City's loss at D.C. United and draw at Toronto FC. The Lions didn't make it very easy for our Man of the Match selections, but we make them anyway. We put a bow on the Orlando Pride's first season and look forward to seeing what Tom Sermanni does with his roster in the off-season.  And we look back at Orlando City B's win at Bethlehem Steel -- a historic victory that put the young Lions in the USL playoffs in their inaugural year. Here to help us talk about that and the playoff match ahead is none other than Lewis Neal. The OCB captain, former MLS Lion, and part-time broadcaster talks about his big goal on Sunday, the team's struggles down the stretch without Tony Rocha and Mikey Ambrose, the upcoming match against New York Red Bulls II, and more. And of course we look ahead to the Montreal Impact this Sunday with our predictions for Orlando City's penultimate home match of the season. Here's how it broke down: 0:12- A look back at an ugly loss in DC, an unexpected and yet unsatisfying draw in Toronto, suspensions, the 4-4-2 diamond, the Pride's closing match against FC Kansas City, OCB's win, and more. 45:33- Lewis Neal joins us to give us the lowdown on the young Lions, what the playoff berth means to the club, Anthony Pulis' first season as a coach and Sunday's match at NYRBII. 1:00:56- Our key match-ups and score predictions for Orlando City vs. Montreal Impact. Those consecutive wins over New York City FC and Montreal Impact feel like they happened years ago. Orlando City has been slam dunked on two weeks in a row, and the road doesn’t get any easier with the team traveling to RFK to take on D.C. United this weekend. Still, we can only talk about the games that have been played (or are about to be played), so let’s dive into that Columbus loss a little bit. We managed to find a Man of the Match candidate among the participants in purple from that less-than-ideal result, but it wasn’t easy. Our friend Adam Taylor from Black and Red United stopped by to prep us for what we can expect from D.C. United this weekend. Adam is very knowledgeable and we appreciate him dropping some of that knowledge on us as we get set for a very different looking United team than the one we saw last year. And we also discuss Orlando City B’s final chance to snag the last USL Eastern Conference playoff spot this weekend at Bethlehem Steel, the Pride’s home finale, Becky Edwards’ impending retirement, the recent USWNT matches, and more. Here’s how the show unfolded: 0:12- Orlando City played a soccer match against Columbus Crew SC and it did not go well. Goals were shipped, defenders were burned, and hey, at least Cyle Larin scored a goal, so there’s that. 30:31- Adam Taylor jumps aboard to talk about the new-look United, a team that can score goals but hasn’t been stopping them with as much regularity as in the past. Adam tells us exactly how to stop that attack, though, so it’s all good, as long as Jason Kreis listens to this podcast. Oh God. 50:03- Our key match-ups and final score predictions! It's been a minute since we've been able to celebrate Orlando City winning all three points with you, constant listener, but we get to do just that this week after the Lions dispatched New York City FC, 2-1, over the weekend. Forgive us if we go in-depth into the match. We didn't have a guest this week and still gave you more than an hour of our takes on the Lions and their continued mastery of their fellow 2015 expansion club.  We also talked Orlando Pride, who unfortunately saw the wrong end of a 2-1 score line at home against the Washington Spirit last Friday night. Not all of the Olympians have returned yet, and the Pride attack was a bit toothless against the NWSL's top club. The playoffs are a remote dream now for the Pride but Tom Sermanni is bringing in reinforcements anyway, in the form of forward Lisa De Vanna and defender McKenzie Berryhill.  And we're also talking Orlando City B, the club's only team that is currently above the playoff line. Can OCB maintain the spot with just one home game remaining in the last five matches? The young Lions' form hasn't been great since Tony Rocha and Mikey Ambrose were promoted to the senior squad, and things won't be easy with Pierre Da Silva on international duty. We also talk about the international break, with Cyle Larin and Kevin Molino going off to represent their countries, and what it means for the Montreal match. And who can resist a little USMNT talk? Not us, apparently. We leave you with this week's key match-ups and score predictions. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Well, that wasn’t as fun a weekend as we’d have liked, was it? The 3-1 loss to Seattle still stings in the midweek, not only because it ended the team’s home unbeaten streak, but more importantly because even another lousy draw would have had the Lions above the red line and still with a game in hand on New England. Oh well. We’re here to pick at the bones of that game and give you what might be the most difficult Man of the Match selections of the year to date. A look at the stat sheet definitely doesn’t tell the story from this match. We also discuss another crazy week for OCB as the young Lions again make things as dramatic as they possibly can. And we’ve got a little Olympic soccer talk as well. Paul Tenorio, former Orlando Sentinel writer, who is currently on the Chicago Fire broadcast team, as well as serving as a national columnist for the excellent FourFourTwo, joins us to talk about the MLS at large and Orlando City’s upcoming match in the Windy City Suburb against the Fire. Paul’s knowledge of the league should be looked on with great respect and we’re happy he could find the time to answer our questions. And, of course, before we sign off, there are the weekly key match-ups and score predictions for this weekend’s game on the road against the Chicago Fire. Here’s how it unfolded: 0:12- We hated Sunday's result but we'll recap it for you anyway, because that's what we do. MPG and Kaká stuck out to us. We've also got Orlando City B and Olympic talk which is a bit nicer. 38:24- Paul Tenorio hops on and has some great insight on Orlando City, MLS and the Chicago Fire. A new coach gave Orlando City a new lease on life in Major League Soccer, as Jason Kreis led the Lions to a 3-1 home win over the New England Revolution on Sunday. It was a good performance for a team that has been struggling to get results in 2016 and we're here to break it all down and talk about what we saw, including our picks for Man of the Match. We also talk about the big midweek trade by Orlando, shipping midfielder Darwin Ceren to San Jose for Matias Perez Garcia, and what it means in the short term and beyond. The addition of two OCB players to the senior squad is also a talking point, as well as coverage of Orlando Pride's loss at Boston and Orlando City B's stunning comeback win at Louisville City FC. And here to help us preview this Sunday's match-up against Seattle is Dave Clark from Sounder at Heart. Dave is a guy who knows the Sounders and Major League Soccer at large, and we were glad to have him talk about what's been going on in Seattle this season, how he sees this weekend's match-up, and even some insight about Orlando CIty's new acquisition from the Earthquakes. Sometimes things don't go as planned. While wrapping up this week's PawedCast, the news broke that Orlando City had fired Head Coach Adrian Heath. That sent us on quite a tangent, and our listeners will hear us discovering the news and processing it in real time. Sure, we could have hit the stop button and talked out how we wanted to tackle the topic, but that's never been our way of doing things and so here it is. We were typing all the four-letter reactions of astonishment while talking, so you don't have to hear them. That's toward the end of the show. We had plenty to talk about before that even happened. We do a bit of a rewind to Monday's 4-0 loss at FC Dallas despite not wanting to do so. We talked about what's going on with Carlos Rivas, the departure of Adrian Winter, plus Orlando Pride and Orlando City B. Then we welcome Derek Stowers, an editor over at Dynamo Theory, to help us preview Friday night's match-up with Houston. Derek talks a bit about the changes with the Dynamo in 2016 and why he's optimistic about his team's chances on Friday.  After that, we've got answers to listener questions and our own key match-ups and predictions for Orlando City vs. Houston, but that whole Adrian Heath thing kind of interrupted that midstream.  Here's how it unfolded: 0:13- Worst loss of the season at Dallas; what's the deal with Carlos Rivas?: Adrian Winter's departure; Orlando Pride happenings; and Orlando City B's continued resurgence. 36:27- Derek Stowers hops aboard and gives us his perspective on the Houston Dynamo, Owen Coyle, and more. 55:05- Listener questions and BREAKING NEWS ON ADRIAN HEATH, and then perhaps some key match-ups and predictions but those seemed superfluous. We were also fortunate enough to talk to Orlando City midfielder Servando Carrasco. Servando tells us why he loves playing defensive midfield, even if it isn't the most glamorous position on the soccer field, as well as who some of his heroes were that influenced his fondness for the position. He also weighs in on the Copa break, this week's win over Jacksonville Armada FC in the U.S. Open Cup, and Saturday's opponents, the San Jose Earthquakes. Well, we've finally got a breather, of sorts, in the schedule, but that doesn't mean we're shorting you on the PawedCast magic. We're here to break down Orlando City's dramatic 2-2 draw on the road against New York City FC at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, including our picks for Man of the Match. We've also got plenty to say about Orlando Pride's loss at FC Kansas City, as well as Orlando City B's comeback win over Charlotte Independence. Without an MLS game this weekend, we instead talked (begrudgingly) about the injury that will keep Kaká out of Copa America. It's a darn shame he'll miss playing in his home stadium while representing his country, but injuries are a part of soccer and there's nothing fair about soccer.  Speaking of Copa America Centenario, we give you our predictions for who will hoist the trophy when this international tournament is all said and done.
