C-Lo returns for his final update of the day, but first we talked about charcuterie boards (I don't know what to tell you folks). A caller said he wants to clean up the dog poop in Gio's yard (he has a poop scooping business). C-Lo starts with Rick Pitino on the Brandon Tierney podcast to talk about culture. Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco took a question about dating from the audience. The Moment of The Day: Chris Russo rubbing down Gio and other WFAN employees. Hour 1 NFL Divisional Weekend is upon us and the marquee game is Sunday night with the Ravens at the Bills. This game is likely to come down to who turns the ball over the most. People are acting like Lamar Jackson can't play in the cold weather. The man plays in Baltimore. Boomer wonders if the Chiefs will ever come out and just blow somebody out. Gio wonders if the Texans/Chiefs game is the big upset nobody's talking about. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update of the day, but first we talked about Chris Berman's comb over flying in the wind. C-Lo has audio previewing the Divisional games this weekend. Aaron Rodgers was on with Pat McAfee who already doesn't like the narrative of whatever happens with Ravens/Bills. Things are not looking great between the Mets and Pete Alonso. They have a number and are not going over it. Sal is yelling for the Mets to get Vlad Jr. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Commanders kicker Zane Gonzalez dealing with OCD while kicking high pressure field goals. The book AJ Brown was reading on the sideline is up ‘53 million percent' according to Gio. Hour 2 The Giants have the third pick and the Jets have the seventh, and both need quarterbacks. Seven of the eight QBs left in the playoffs were first round picks. Two of them were the number one pick, two were the number two pick. Gio always hears the narrative that you can get a good QB in the second round but that's really not the case. Boomer thinks Cam Ward is the best QB in the draft. It seems like Ward is going to the Titans number one. A caller doesn't like Gio saying Joe Schoen had bad drafts before this last one. Dion Sanders is not going to want Shedeur going to the Browns. C-Lo returns for an update, but first we shook a lot of hands last night so we will likely get norovirus. C-Lo starts with Nick Sirianni on the Rams and Sean McVeigh on the Eagles. Bob Uecker passed away at the age of 90. We heard Uecker on the call as the Mets eliminated the Brewers. Arod tweeted about his passing but thinks he's Cleveland's play by play guy. In the final segment of the hour, a guy who works at the Pentagon wanted to know if Boomer was coming to the inauguration. Hour 3 We wondered what playoff teams could still win if their quarterback goes down. The two best running teams are the Ravens and Eagles. Is that Boomer's Super Bowl prediction? Boomer and Phil Simms were gushing about the Ravens at last night's event. A caller wants the Giants to trade for Patriots backup Joe Milton. C-Lo returns for an update, but first the Dolphins are one of the teams playing in Madrid this upcoming season. Boomer said in 2028 or 2029 there will be an NFL division in Europe and they will all be expansion teams. Gio thinks it sucks and he hates it. Bill Belichick supposedly didn't sign his contract yet at UNC but that doesn't seem to be a big deal. Ed Werder said Jerry Jones is enamored with Deion Sanders. Adam Schein doesn't see it happening. He thinks it will be Kellen Moore. We heard Jerry Recco on the call as Rutgers won in Nebraska. In the final segment of the hour, Rams linebacker Jared Verse said he hates Eagles fans. Hour 4 We talked briefly about the Trashers hockey team from Connecticut that Netflix did a documentary about. Boomer did the Andrew Marchand podcast, but you have to pay to hear it so good luck with that. Hour 1 When we come back on Monday, it's ‘black Monday', where NFL coaches get fired. Will we get another regime change for the Giants? Boomer doesn't think any of the QBs in the draft are good enough for the Giants to trade up for. Boomer can see the Giants getting Carson Wentz as a ‘stop gap' quarterback. If Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll stay, what will the fans think if they're sitting at 1-7 midway through the season? C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update of the day. He starts with audio of Saquon Barkley doing a commercial for a sleep aid where he takes a shot at the Giants and John Mara. C-Lo and Boomer then talked about the Rangers and the rest of us were bored. We then got into some sound from the Steelers postgame between George Pickens and Russell Wilson. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talked about a few documentaries he watched yesterday. One was on the artist Avicii and one was on a guy who's trying to slow down aging called, ‘Don't Die'. Hour 2 We have two games on Saturday: Browns at Ravens and Bengals at Steelers. If the Ravens win, they win the division. Boomer wonders if Mike Tomlin will rest players if the Ravens win. Gio said the Steelers should not rest players and try and win so they go to Houston instead of having to play Baltimore. The Steelers always have winning seasons, but they have not won a playoff game in a really long time. It feels like it's going to be the Chiefs again in the AFC. We talked about the huge Vikings/Lions game. Gio is worried about the Vikings if they have to play in Philadelphia. C-Lo returns for an update and he and Boomer get into the Rangers for a few minutes. Mike Vrabel is interviewing with the Jets today. Boomer wonders who the GM would be if Vrabel is the head coach. Boomer said Vrabel is a guy who could change the culture. Gio would be impressed if the Jets can land him. Mike Tomlin talked about having to get the stink off this week as they play the Bengals. Kliff Kingsbury was asked if he wants to be a head coach again after his success in Washington. Notre Dame won the Sugar Bowl and had a huge kickoff return. In the final segment of the hour, Eddie is out again because he's observing wolves in Wyoming. Hour 3 Every year there's a surprise NFL head coach firing. Last year it was Mike Vrabel. Who are the potential shocking firings this year? Is there a team in a dome or warm weather that would need a QB that could be a fit for Kirk Cousins? C-Lo returns for an update and starts with some Jets talk. Mike Vrabel is interviewing with them today. C-Lo went around the NBA yesterday. Jimmy Butler seems to want out of Miami. We heard from Jerry Recco on the call as Rutgers lost to Indiana. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer continues his love of Precious Achiuwa. A caller wonders if Sean McDermott is on the hot seat if they get bounced in the first playoff game. Hour 4 We talked about Mike Vrabel interviewing with the Jets. Gio would be shocked if the Jets could convince him to coach the Jets. Boomer said you can't let him out of the building today. Gio suggests a tranquilizer dart. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day, but first we found out yesterday that someone who works in the sales department at Audacy here in NY died in the New Orleans terror attack. Last night was a heartbreaker for the Mariners, and it seems as though Scott Servais is losing the guys he could lean on, the most recent being Ty France. We hear from Scott Servais' postgame last night, and the tension is palpable. Ian took a gander at social media last night and wants to know why people are so angry at the Mariners - not because they don't deserve to be - but he truly wants to know what the fans are truly passionate about right now. Anders, Jess and Ian share their thoughts on what's making them angry with the Mariners right now. Joe Sheehan, The Joe Sheehan Newsletter joins to break down exactly what's going on with the Mariners, specifically to react to what Scott Servais had to say last night. Joe is surprised they parted ways with Ty France, who was third on the team in OBP. Ian thinks France is a scapegoat for all that's going wrong. What can the team do right now? Mariners fans are releasing their frustration on our airwaves, and we let them run with it. Andrew Marchand, The Athletic joins the show to talk about the future of NBA broadcasts on TNT and whether we'll continue to see the greatest studio show on television in the future. He also helps us keep a realistic view of NBA expansion in Seattle. When will we see the Sonics return?

Al got into a back and forth on Twitter with sports media columnist Andrew Marchand about how many people in the NY area watched game 7 of Knicks/Pacers. He compared that to a regular season Giants/Cowboys game. In June, Brendan Burke and Rickie Ricardo will each call Yankee games in place of John Sterling. Gio thinks Burke may be a little too expensive to do Yankee radio games. A caller named Patty is a new baseball fan and wants to know what teams she should root for. Gio's high school Italian teacher calls in to congratulate him on being honored by the NY Legislature as Italian American of the Year. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and starts with Clay Holmes blowing the game last night in the ninth. Aaron Rodgers was there as a guest of Marcus Stroman. Malik Nabers was asked about the red throwback jerseys the Giants will wear this year. Tom Brady talked to new quarterbacks and told them to be champions, not stars. Brandon Tierney said thank you to the Knicks, as he loves them. The Moment of The Day involves the keeper of the Stanley Cup and how he might hit on flight attendants on the plane. In the final segment of the show, Gio said he knows somebody who flew to Turkey to get hair plugs. Hour 1 Gio has returned from Albany with his proclamation on being the Italian American of the year from the NY legislature. Evan Roberts is making news for his Knicks take from yesterday. Boomer felt Evan was being disrespectful towards Tiki during the discussion. Evan just can't believe Knicks fans seem happy with how the season went. Gio said multiple people in Albany want Boomer to run for Governor. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update of the day and has audio from Evan wondering why Knicks fans think this was a great season. The Mets lost in Cleveland and Starling Marte had himself a day. He got doubled up on a poor baserunning play and was tossed for arguing balls and strikes. Boomer said the Mets are becoming irrelevant. Lindor was booed by fans in Cleveland. Clay Holmes blew the game for the Yanks, giving up 4 runs in the ninth. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talks about Johnny Farina, who was also honored in Albany. He had a hit song with an instrumental called, ‘sleep walk'.  Hour 2 Boomer wants the Knicks to give Tom Thibodeau an extension right away. We talked about which Knicks players we want back and which ones do and don't make sense regarding their contracts. The Stanley Cup is coming in today and we want Boomer to touch the cup. C-Lo returns for an update but first we opened up our box of golf shirts from our friend Larry in Indiana. C-Lo has audio of Evan screaming at Tiki about the Knicks. Mike Francesa was very confident in the Knicks playing game 7 at home. In the final segment of the hour, the Stanley Cup is here with the keeper of the cup, Howie Borrow. We talked about the superstition of not touching the cup. Howie believes the opposite.  Hour 3 There was a lot of action out in the newsroom with the Stanley Cup making an appearance out there. A caller said there's more than one Stanley Cup, so Al ran out to the elevator to catch the keeper of the cup. There is one official Stanley Cup and there is one replica cup in the hockey hall of fame. C-Lo is here for another update but first Brian Rascona calls in to clear his name from Boomer talking about his golf practice swing. C-Lo previewed Rangers/Panthers which starts tomorrow night. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer & Gio are golfing on Thursday but it looks like there are thunderstorms in the area. What Florida Panthers jersey will Boomer be putting in the freezer? Gio wonders if freezing jerseys really works for Boomer.  Hour 4 Al got into a back and forth on Twitter with sports media columnist Andrew Marchand about how many people in the NY area watched game 7 of Knicks/Pacers. Hour 1 We have a huge sports weekend coming up and now know the Knicks opponent. They will play the Sixers starting Saturday at MSG. Gio said it would have been easier to play the Heat without Jimmy Butler. Boomer said you can't always try to take the easy way out. Boomer talked about Mitchell Robinson being healthy and how that will be key. Boomer is feeling like a kid again with the Knicks and Rangers being in the playoffs. Oh, and the Mets just swept the Pirates. There will definitely be more Knicks fans in Philly than Sixers fans at MSG. Mitchell Robinson is going off social media for the playoffs and isn't texting anyone back. Jerry is here for his first update but first, Boomer is pumped and playing MC Hammer music. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Sixers win over the Heat. Why does Charles Barkley think the Knicks are frauds? Gio thinks he's doing it just to troll the Knicks fanbase. Jontay Porter was suspended indefinitely by the NBA for betting. Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star was very awkward to Caitlin Clark when she was introduced to the media. In the final segment of the hour, reports are that there are four candidates to replace John Sterling on the Yankees radio broadcasts. Would Brendan Burke drop what he's doing now to go on the road for 81 games a year? Gio said he would be the first choice if he was doing the hiring. Justin Shackil and Emmanuel Berbari have an enormous opportunity this summer to prove they are the right guy for the job.  Hour 2 Boomer is having problems checking in on the Air Canada app. He is going there for a WASPs hockey tournament. Gio thinks it's an old guy problem. The interface between the Air Canada app and the United app ‘sucks' according to Boomer. Jerry returns for an update, but first Gio figures out Boomer's app issue with Air Canada. Jerry starts with audio from the Sixers win over the Heat. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays and we heard Juan Soto's HR. The Mets completed the sweep of the Pirates. Bill Belichick said he's never had a cup of coffee in his life. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer went to the Sean McManus retirement party. Roger Goodell and Robert Kraft were also there.  Hour 3 Boomer ran into Andrew Marchand of The Athletic yesterday and they talked about which athlete has had the most success as a broadcaster after their playing career. Boomer thought of Cris Collinsworth, Phil Simms, and Pat Summerall. Marchand thought of Charles Barkley and he had Boomer on his list. Other names that came up were Frank Gifford, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw. Gio said Tim McCarver. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Sixers beating the Heat as they will face the Knicks in round one. Kendrick Perkins said Barkley and Shaq don't watch games, which is why they don't like the Knicks. The Mets completed their sweep of the Pirates and the Yankees snapped a 3-game losing streak by beating the Blue Jays. Jason Kelce lost his Super Bowl ring in a pool of Skyline Chili. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer wonders what the itinerary will be for John Sterling day on Saturday. Boomer also wants the new brand manager to get a makeover. We need to, ‘sex him up' according to Boomer.  Hour 4 Boomer wonders if Big Zoo is still raising money for the 5-Borough Bike Tour as he's representing Team Boomer. A caller said he's feeling a lot of negativity from Rangers fans. A caller is bringing a third date to the Rangers playoff game and is looking for advice. One caller said, ‘don't take chicks to games'. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Knicks having to face the Sixers. Gio wishes it was the Heat now that Jimmy Butler is out. Al Leiter's son, Jack, makes his first MLB start today with the Texas Rangers. The Coyotes are moving to Salt Lake City, so last night the broadcasters said goodbye. The Moment of The Day involves Boomer vs the Air Canada app on his phone. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the upcoming Rangers/Capitals series.

TRUMP DECLARES WAR ON TAYLOR SWIFT - 1.31.24

Countdown with Keith Olbermann

SERIES 2 EPISODE 114: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: Because this is the way to overcome a record stock market high, universal employment, and the suspicion that he's an insane treasonous rapist in some kind of mental health crisis who'll be in jail before Inauguration Day, Trump has now declared "Holy War" against... Taylor Swift. It's SWIFT BOAT '24! Fear that she will again endorse Biden (to say nothing of a string of self-negating conspiracy theories about fixed Super Bowls and long-term psy-ops) has provoked the fascists to plan to smear the megastar the way Trump has smeared E. Jean Carroll, Hillary Clinton, Judge Chutkan, and every other woman who has ever stood in the way of something he thought life owed him. That the list of women he's treated as not quite human should range from Hillary to Taylor to E. Jean is not a stretch. There are many things desperately mentally wrong with Dementia J. Trump but his virulent antipathy towards women - and the misogynistic cancer he has spread within his cult - is as bad as anything else. The far right is ready for battle, though. Trump reportedly is confident he's more popular and has more fans and deserved "Person Of The Year" honors more than Swift did. His functional idiot Jack Posobiec has gotten up in front of people and said no, the Trump Death Cult may not have Taylor Swift, but it has Kid Rock and Ted Nugent! And then he ran out of names and somebody shouted "and Jon Voight!" and clearly like me, he was surprised to discover that Jon Voight is still with us. B-Block (22:15) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: More details from the latest "Moms For Liberty" scandal: the head Moms For Liberty plied her "favorite" underaged boy with liquor than sat on his lap - at her daughter's birthday party, prosecutors allege. (27:31) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The New York Times and The Athletic just hired away a dishonest Sports TV/Business reporter. Maria Bartiromo thinks DEI killed the servicemen in Jordan (or was she thinking about DUI) and Elon Musk does nothing as a clown named Shawn McBreairty doxxes a Secretary of State ON Twitter-X. C-Block (30:44) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Speaking of misogyny, did I ever tell you about the future president of MSNBC insisting to me that they'd never hire Rachel Maddow because the audience would never accept a WOMAN doing the POLITICAL NEWS!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
