Following the Wicked press tours, there have been countless online conversations about Ariana Grande and her dynamic with Cynthia Erivo. So we're re-running our 2023 episode "Not a Woman's Woman" with new analysis of the press tour that nearly overshadowed the films, including the constant crying, the hand-holding, the "holding space" meme, and why people online were both moved and alarmed. In the original episode, we examine the backlash towards Ariana after she was called "not a girl's girl" by Lily Jay, the estranged wife of her Wicked co-star and now boyfriend Ethan Slater, and why Megan Fox is so often accused of not appealing to women. We break down labels like homewrecker, mean girl and pick me girl, and explore why some women are disliked by the sisterhood. Oh! And stay tuned for our Sunday episode all about the 90s. See you then. Clip used: Wicked press tour with PinkNews. Questions or Comments you'd like us to cover? We love answering your questions and analysing the stories you've found. Wicked: For Good (also known as Wicked: Part Two) is a 2025 American musical fantasy film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox. The sequel to Wicked (2024), it adapts the second act of the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman, which was loosely based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, a reimagining of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 film adaptation. Ariana Grande,[b] Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum return from the first film. Set in the Land of Oz before and during the events of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the film explores the relationship between Elphaba and Glinda as they embrace their new identities as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.Universal Pictures and Marc Platt, who both produced the stage musical, announced the film adaptation in 2012. After a long development and multiple delays, partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chu was hired as the director with Erivo and Grande cast in 2021. The adaptation was split into two parts to avoid omitting plot points and further develop the characters. Principal photography on both films began in December 2022 in England, was interrupted in July 2023 by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, and resumed and concluded in January 2024.Wicked: For Good premiered at the Suhai Music Hall in São Paulo on November 4, 2025, and was released in the United States on November 21. While critics responded less positively to the film than its predecessor, the film was commercially successful, grossing $253.8 million worldwide on a $150 million budget. Hosted on Acast. Wicked is back to defy gravity once again and rock the moviegoing population worldiwde. After the gigantic critical, financial and awards hit that was the first Wicked , Wicked: For Good aims to close out the adaptation of the stage musical. But, as most people online now, the second half of the Wicked musical is infamous for being much weaker than the first. I was shocked last year when I stepped into that screening and came out actually liking Wicked; I was not looking forward to seeing a nearly three-hour musical that was only going to tell half the story, but the performances, musical numbers and world building really won me over. I didn't think it was quite great, and scoffed a little at all the awards aclaim that followed its release... but there's no denying how much that movie struck a chord. So, with Wicked: For Good, is Jon M. Chu able to capture lightning in a bottle for a second time and deliver on what the stage musical could not? Find out in this review!Wicked: For Good:Directed by: Jon M. Wicked: For Good is now showing in Malaysian cinemas. Elphaba, now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz's silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard. Glinda, meanwhile, has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. Under the instruction of Madame Morrible, Glinda is deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the rule of The Wizard. As Glinda's stardom expands and she prepares to marry Prince Fiyero in a spectacular Ozian wedding, she is haunted by her separation from Elphaba. She attempts to broker a conciliation between Elphaba and The Wizard, but those efforts will fail, driving Elphaba and Glinda only further apart. The aftershocks will transform Boq and Fiyero forever, and threaten the safety of Elphaba's sister, Nessarose, when a girl from Kansas comes crashing into all their lives. Wicked: For Good was directed by Jon M. Chu, and stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum. Gasp! We're doing an episode on the smash hit musical Wicked! At least the first part. We discuss the friendship between our 2 leads, the move from stage to screen, hidden references, world-building, & more! I Love This You Should Too is hosted by Samantha and Indy Randhawa Wicked (Part I) is a 2024 American musical fantasy film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox. It adapts the first act of the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman, which was loosely based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, a reimagining of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 film adaptation. The film stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande as Glinda Upland, with Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode (in her film debut), Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum in supporting roles. Set in the Land of Oz before the events of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the film explores the early relationship between Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and her dormitory roommate Galinda, who becomes Glinda the Good.
Despite rumors sparked by their separate appearances at the Wicked premiere, insiders confirm Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater are still happily together and simply prefer to keep their relationship private. Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner remain a couple, with sources denying breakup claims and emphasizing their shared desire to keep their two-and-a-half-year relationship out of the spotlight. Following her rumored split from Tom Cruise, Ana de Armas was spotted looking happy while shopping in Los Angeles with venture capitalist Marcelo Valente, marking her first public outing with a new man. Adele is set to make her acting debut in Tom Ford's Cry to Heaven, an adaptation of Anne Rice's novel filming in early 2026, as she explores new creative paths beyond music.
