Last week, on NPPF deadline day, Sam Stafford was in Manchester and took the opportunity to catch up with friends of the podcast Katie Wray, David Diggle, Greg Dickson, Mark Parkinson and Claire Petricca-Riding at the studios of Reform Radio. Conscious that the podcast has covered the revised NPPF in episodes 128 and 131, they talked about some of the other current hot planning topics. Before heading to London for the week, Sam Stafford caught up with 50 Shades stalwarts Paul Smith, Katie Wray and Ian Wray for a wide-ranging ramblechat at the Reform Radio studios in Manchester. Paul is Managing Director at the Strategic Land Group, a Director at the LPDF and a columnist for Housing Today. Katie is a Director at Deloitte. Ian is an Honorary Professor and Fellow at the Heseltine Institute for Public Policy, Practice & Place at the University of Liverpool and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences . When Amber's mum died suddenly, shortly after her 19th birthday, she spiralled into a life of self-destruction. After several turbulent years and unable to find the support she needed, Amber started The Grief Gang podcast. This podcast became her outlet, a resource dedicated to people who were experiencing bereavement like she was. Graham trained as a sound engineer at Manchester's Spirit Studios in the mid 80s when he was producing records as Biting Tongues for Factory Records and working as a live sound engineer at the Boardwalk Club.Studio experience allowed him to work as a producer and remixer for people as diverse as Bjork , Quincy Jones , Primal Scream, David Bowie,The Stone Roses, Goldfrapp & Yellow Magic Orchestra. Graham has worked as a composer on many film soundtracks, music for commercials (agencies such as BBH in London & SYN in Tokyo) plus theatre pieces and public art events including being musical director for Jeremy Deller's 'What Is A City' for the opening of Manchester International Festival in 2017. Louise hit the heights of a legal career that many desire; working for a Magic Circle law firm. However, it soon became clear to Louise that that way of working  wasn't a high for her at all and it proved to be pivotal in hitting her "rock bottom". It was that low which actually paved the way for a new path for Louise when doors serendipitously opened during her recovery phase which led her  back into one of her childhood passions; music.  My favourite part of this journey is when Louise takes a temp job at HMV - hell yehhh! Not one to sit on the side lines and do things by halves, Louise has cultivated a freelance career in the music and radio world which has seen her working across BBC Radio with the likes ofJo Whiley, Lauren Laverne and Annie Mac, working for ABC radio in Australia, being a music journalist for BBC Radio 6, producing and presenting her own radio show (The Flip Side for Reform Radio) and  producing numerous podcasts including Annie Mac's! Need I go on...Louise describes herself as a creative go-getter, which I totally agree with! She's got such a fire in her, can make sh*t happen AND she's also soooooo creative! Out of the Welsh valleys and now at home in Manchester, Rikki Humphrey has been hosting radio shows on KMAH and Reform Radio and just kicked off a new residency on the city's NTS channel. DJing all over the country and across Europe and South America, Rikki has supported a gamut of wide-ranging jocks including Space Dimension Controller, Italojohnson, Tornado Wallace, Bicep, Xosar, Hunee and many more, and he still finds time to fulfill a residency at TEAK in Cardiff.
