Officials further harassed him by staking out his home and taking pictures of his guests. First Liberty attorney Ryan Gardner will unpack the details on this new case and explain how we're defending Rabbi Levi's right to live out his faith.

I'm your host, Chris Lee, and today I have the pleasure of chatting with Ryan Gardner, the mastermind behind Bucked Up, a powerhouse in the supplement and energy drink industry. Ryan takes us back to the beginning when Bucked Up started with just a thousand bottles of their pre-workout supplement. Fast forward to now, and they're raking in hundreds of millions in revenue. They've cracked the energy drink market, going from 4 million cans sold to an incredible projection of 55 million cans this year. First Liberty attorney Ryan Gardner joins us this week on First Liberty Live! to talk about The Father's House Sober Living – a ministry in Westmoreland, Tennessee that is facing discrimination from the government. Government officials are violating state and federal laws to coerce The Father's House to make building renovations costing upwards of $85,000. To make matters worse, a rouge power company even cut off the ministry's power at one point. Today, Ryan outlines how we are defending The Father's House so they can go back to providing housing and support for men seeking to escape drug addiction. You won't want to miss this case update.
It's Wednesday, January 4th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslims kidnapped 53 Christians, killed one on Christmas Fulani Muslim herdsmen in Nigeria, Africa and other terrorists killed one Christian and kidnapped 53 more on Christmas Day in southern Kaduna state. This comes after militants killed 40 believers in the week leading up to Christmas. One local resident said, “Mass graves litter the community and the countryside. Our people can no longer go to their farms for fear of being gunned down or macheted. Lamentably, the Fulani terrorist attacks have continued unabated as they are heard chanting, ‘Allah Akbar [Allah, the moon god, is greater]' during the killing and destructive expeditions.” Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria. GOP conservatives reject Kevin McCarthy for House Speaker The House adjourned without a speaker on Tuesday for the first time in a century after Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy of California failed in a third straight vote for the gavel, reports Politico.com. It comes after 19 Republican conservatives derailed McCarthy's first and second vote to become Speaker, throwing the party further into chaos on their first day in the majority. Twenty House Republicans threw their support behind GOP Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, who has repeatedly said he does not want the gavel, which sunk McCarthy's bid to take the position on the opening day of Congress. In fact, Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida slammed Kevin McCarthy as he nominated Jim Jordan. Listen. GAETZ: “Maybe the right person for the job of Speaker of the House isn't someone – [McCarthy] -- who wants it so bad. Maybe the right person for the job of Speaker of the House isn't someone who has sold shares of themselves for more than a decade to get it. (surprised reaction) Maybe Jim Jordan is the right person for Speaker of the House because he is not beholden to the lobbyists and special interests who have corrupted this place and corrupted this nation under the leadership of both Republicans and Democrats. “Maybe Jim Jordan would be the right person for Speaker of the House because he wouldn't fight us when we try to get a term limits bill on the floor. Maybe Jim Jordan would be the right person because he wouldn't fight us when we try to put a balanced budget on the floor and vote for it. And maybe Jim Jordan is the right person because he would endorse the plan that was built by the Texas delegation to finally secure our border.” McCarthy, who can only afford to lose four votes out of the 222 Republican members, is facing an uphill battle to take over the gavel from Nancy Pelosi. Before the vote, Gaetz said, "Those of us who will not be voting for Kevin McCarthy today take no joy in this discomfort that this moment has brought. But if you want to drain the swamp, you cannot put the biggest alligator in charge of the exercise. I'm a Florida man and I know of what I speak.” New York judge allows people to pack heat at church Last Thursday, a U.S. federal judge temporarily blocked a New York State law that prohibits people from carrying firearms in houses of worship. Pastor Michael Spencer of His Tabernacle Family Church is challenging the law and is represented by First Liberty Institute. Ryan Gardner with First Liberty said, “Singling out houses of worship for total disarmament demonstrates hostility toward religion, leaves them defenseless to rebuff violent attacks, sticks the state's nose into how religious services are conducted, and defies at least two recent Supreme Court rulings against New York.” Sean Feucht vs. Antifa at defaced San Diego church Antifa members defaced City View Church's building in San Diego, California last week. The church was planning on holding a New Year's Eve worship service led by Christian singer Sean Feucht. Police are investigating the attack as a hate crime. The far-left activists spray painted profanities and threats on the church building. According to a video of one tweet, Feucht told ChurchLeaders.com, “The church isn't a building. We're the bride of Christ and in 2023 we're rising up like never before.” FEUCHT: “Rejoice and be glad. So, that's what we're going to do in San Diego tonight. We've been persecuted. All kinds of crazy stuff has been said. This church has been vandalized. But you know what? Tonight, you're going to see a resilient church. This is a prophetic night for what God is doing in 2023. You're going to see a church rising up in boldness, rising up in courage.” Matthew 5:10-12 says, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in Heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Court upholds school's right to restrict bathrooms to biological sex Last Friday, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Florida school district's anti-transgender policy. The St. Johns County School Board has a bathroom policy that distinguishes students based on biological sex. A female student pretending to be a boy sued the school over the policy. The ruling noted, “The school board's bathroom policy is clearly related to — indeed, is almost a mirror of — its objective of protecting the privacy interests of students to use the bathroom away from the opposite sex and to shield their bodies from the opposite sex in the bathroom.” Wall Street's worst year since 2008 And finally, Wall Street ended its worst year since 2008 last Friday. All three major stock indices reported painful losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down nearly 8% for 2022. The S&P 500 dropped nearly 20%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq fell over 30%. Media and tech companies recorded some of the biggest losses. The Walt Disney Company, Netflix, Comcast and other media groups lost over half a trillion dollars in market value last year. Disney stock, in particular, dropped 45% as the company continues to support sexually perverted lifestyles. Galatians 6:7 says, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, January 4th in the year of our Lord 2023. More can get accomplished when you uplift and help others, this is true in the animal welfare community, too! In this episode, Ali is joined by Ryan Gardner who is Co-Founder of Little Woods Animal Sanctuary. Ryan shares about the work that's being done at Little Woods Animal Sanctuary (including a bonus talk about the pigeon industry). However, he also shares the necessity and beauty of animal Sanctuaries lifting each other up. Ryan gives a timely example of this and shares how Little Woods Animal Sanctuary along with several other farm sanctuaries are teaming up to help a sanctuary in need. He even tells us ways that we can help too! *Disclaimer: There was a friendly cricket that wanted to join the conversation. You will hear him off and on in this episode!https://www.littlewoodssanctuary.comhttps://thehumanenation.com@littlewoodssanctuary@thehumanenation

Taxes ranked second as the single most important problem for small businesses in the US, only lower than Quality of Labor. In this episode of Build Value By Choice, find out what business owners need to stop doing now to prevent you from paying up to 45% in taxes. Guest Ryan Gardner is an attorney and joins Nana to discuss these topics as well as minimizing tax expenses to maximize profits. KEY TAKEAWAYS Gardner Firm PLLC assists in all phases of tax litigation including the audit, appeals, litigation, and into courts of appeals. A lot of business owners think that they don’t need to worry about taxes, you can go out on the last day of the tax period and spend money on equipment or payout some bonuses, but what all businesses should be looking at is your payroll tax. This will come up when you’re looking to sell your business. 54 percent of the 2021 New York City business owners were organized as Family Limited Partnerships. This is unprecedented. The highest we have seen in previous surveys was 18 percent and the average of all past surveys is eight percent. This could reflect increased estate and tax strategies at work, a key tool of exit planning. 23 percent of companies were organized as LLC’s, nine percent S-Corps, and 14 percent as C-Corps. When moving your business on, you need to remember the current value of the assets you own, for example land, because the IRS will definitely ask why an asset you bought in the past has not appreciated in value since. Treat your business like your buyer will treat your business. BEST MOMENTS ‘You’re greatly lowering you purchase price because you’re sucking in value’ ‘They’ve been a C-Corp for 30 years and that makes me want to puke’ ‘We create LLCs because they’re flexible’ EPISODE RESOURCES Leave a comment or question on the Build Value By Choice Facebook community page Get more resources on https://infhorizons.com/podcast Learn more about Ryan on his website: https://www.gardnerfirmpllc.com/practice-areas/tax-litigation/ Don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast and share it. ABOUT THE GUEST Ryan Gardner: “After spending ten years working in massive law firms, I wanted out and needed something (anything) that made my drives and heart come back alive. I was either going to stop practicing law altogether, or see if I could develop a different law practice. Thank God, He guided me to develop a law practice dependent on Him and love for people. I truly enjoy my practice of law and love helping my clients. In the ten years at the massive law firms, I only knew a billable hour quota; now I know my clients and some of their families, and take pride in serving their interests.” PODCAST DESCRIPTION Hosted by Nana Bonsu of Infinite Horizons, this show aims to serve small business owners who want to grow their businesses while reducing their own personal involvement. Ryan has been involved in a very successful Internet marketing company since 2001 when the Internet began! Promoting everything from supplements, biz opp, and lead generation. With his twin brother Jeff Gardner, their affiliate network (with only 3 other employees) did over $25M+ in revenue in 2010 driving traffic. Ryan and Jeff also saw that social media was trending and started their own Social media agency in the beginning of 2015. Eventually, Ryan and Jeff realized it was best to promote their own offer and products. His involvement with Deer Antler Spray began before it became headline news with professional sports. Ryan purchased the domain name DeerAntlerSpray.com in 2013 prior to Ray Lewis getting accused of taking it before the Super Bowl and sales exploded overnight. Ryan says it was "Right Time...Right Place" and attributes it to being blessed and by working smart and hard. Shortly after the Super Bowl he got Deer Antler Spray into GNC and sold thousands of bottles a week for the next two years. Ryan, with the help of Jose Reyes who owned his own GNC, came up with the idea to launch a Pre Workout. Despite the wishes and threat of being "grounded" by his parents he purchased BUCKEDUP.com for $1500 and named the first pre workout "Bucked Up". With a great logo, flavor profile, right ingredients, and a non proprietary blend the company has never looked back and making waves in the supplement industry. In times of unrest, having the right protections for your family, business, assets, and other valued possessions are of the utmost importance. Given the tumultuous times in which we find ourselves, an estate plan (wills, trusts, health care/financial powers of attorney, child guardianship, etc.) has become even more important. Without these documents and correct structure, it is almost guaranteed that there will be major problems in the event of an unexpected death or disability. In this podcast, estate planning attorney, Ryan Gardner, will address things to consider and key documents to ensure that you and your loved ones are protected, both during a crisis and afterward.

Deciding and choosing who will manage your assets in the event of your death or disability is one of the most important decisions you can make when creating or revising your estate plan. We call this person the “Trustee” under a Living Trust, and the “Executor” under a Will. As I always say to my clients, it is an obligation, not an honor, to be someone’s Trustee/Executor. The role often requires lots of time, effort, and true work to efficiently and effectively manage someone else’s assets for the benefit of the intended beneficiaries. This becomes especially complex if there are beneficiaries with special needs issues, ongoing trusts for dependent children, tax-haven strategies, business interests, rental properties, or other complicating factors. In this podcast, attorney Ryan Gardner explains some of the factors to consider when selecting your Trustee and Executor.

All I would do is simply say, Hey, I will charge you this. Our, our affiliate network was a cost per acquisition company or a pay for performance, a company. So when somebody, when I would produce a sell for somebody, I’d say, Hey, I’m going to charge you $40 for every sale. I get you, and they’d go, great. I would just turn around to my publishers in my affiliate network and I’d pay him 35, so I would be basically a glorified broker. I’d be the middle guy putting the two people together. Why is the red one popular one? The green one isn’t? Well, there’s usually a reason and what Gaye does is probably parse that better than anybody and she’ll explain the reasons for those things. I think that’s really powerful. Yes, she puts out a list. You’re going to get a good use of that list if you get in the group. Now here’s the deal. The group isn’t always open, right? It’s easy to look back at the summer that was and reminisce about the great times shared with loved ones at the family lake house or vacation abode. Life is good! What a great summer! But as the season changes and the reality of family dynamics sets in, the owner (or child or other relative of the owner) may think about more practical considerations for future years. “How will the next generation view this family residence?” “Who will be in charge when I can no longer shoulder the weight?” “Will this good feeling and family cooperation last forever?” Many of these questions and uneasy feelings can be settled through open communication, clear rules, and legal structures and documents that govern the arrangement. In this podcast, attorney Ryan Gardner explores various considerations from a legal perspective as it relates to the family vacation home and co-ownership of real property.

Beneficiary designations are among the most over-looked and neglected aspects of a creating a well-rounded estate plan. When was the last time you checked your beneficiary designations on your retirement accounts? Or on your life insurance policies? If it’s been a while, you may be surprised when you review these designations. Have you recently married, divorced, or had children? Have these individuals been properly included (or excluded) as the case may be? Many assets, such as 401(k)s, IRAs, 403(b)s, life insurance policies, and even some bank accounts, allow for the naming of beneficiaries to whom these assets will pass in the event of the owner’s death. Ensuring that all of your assets pass the way you want after your death is of paramount importance for estate planning attorneys and our clients. In this podcast, attorney Ryan Gardner explains how he helps his clients from a holistic standpoint determine how assets are titled, how beneficiaries are designated, and ensures that their assets are provided for in their estate plan, which includes more than just a Will or a Trust. This podcast answers some common questions and provides perspective on how to accomplish your goals with respect to reviewing and updating beneficiary designations.
Congratulations! You just had your first (or maybe your second, third, fourth?) child. Exciting times indeed. You work hard, you've saved enough money, you have life insurance; you are ready for this journey. But in the event of your untimely death or disability, who do you want to raise your child? How will your assets and money that will pass to your children be managed? And by whom? All of these unanswered questions can be solved by various estate planning documents. But without these vitally important safeguards, some judge you've never met, or family you don't trust, will make these decisions for you. Instead of leaving it to chance, take charge today to ensure that your wishes are memorialized and followed. In this podcast, attorney Ryan Gardner explains the necessary steps to take to maintain control over your affairs and wishes with respect to your assets, but most importantly, for your children.
